After perusing this photo of PBO with the children, and thinking of all the children he has been photographed with, the universal running into his arms the way a child who sees Light will do - and do we ever get to see how children react/respond to tehbern?? I have low tolerance for photos of the man, so I really cannot say. Kinda doubt they run to his arms, nor are they welcomed to!
Chat, chat, chat, yak, yak, yak. Actually, I am moving along at roughly Warp 8 today: had kitty to the vet for a tooth extraction by 8am, all the laundry is done (yes, already) and have tidied up and made everything wonderful again! <3 Thinking about a cuppa…
If Carolyn’s reading, want to let you know that I really like @KFOR’s twitter feed. Good mix of news balanced by heartwarming (cute pets) and human interest stories.
Haven’t seen much mention of this appalling story from MSM:
#OrlandoFL Teen riding hoverboard and holding a gun apparently lost his balance and shot and killed 13-yr-old cousin https://t.co/fwYssg1di4
Listening to the livefeed of David Fry talking to KrisAnne Hall and some guy who are right-wing Christians is horrifying. They are completely ineffectual at talking him out of the martyrdom he seeks. Other three Ranch Davidians are in custody, but I don’t see this ending peacefully
I wonder why Bernie decided to go down this road, because if anyone ask me why did I decide to vote for Hillary, I would tell them that the main reason is I do not like Sen. Sanders bashing President Obama, acting as if he haven’t done a dam thing for this country.
Well, it is what Bernie believes. For about five seconds he tried to pretend he supported PBO but he couldn’t keep it together.
And here is the chilling part: This is a planned strategy. He is planning on tapping into RW hate for PBO and getting votes, and it might just work. Isn’t that a tad cynical for someone who prides himself on being so above the fray? He would rather have Trump-style haters in his camp than progressives who actually reward “progress”.
Bernie is not a what he calls a “democratic socialist”, and he certainly hasn’t defined it. He is an out and out Communist, who thought Castro was great. He thinks the only actions that count are overthrowing and destroying things. He has not changed his words or even one single thought in over 50 years. A rigid zealot who will sell us to the rabid GOP.
Get ready for it, like the Naderites in 2000: If PBO had been a better POTUS, this wouldn’t have happened. We’ve been here before: it gave us Nixon; the whiny left didn’t support Carter and we got Reagan.
Who really is at fault for the ascendancy of the RWNJ’s? The likes of Bernie Sanders and the whiny left.
1st Bill Burton and now Jeremy Byrd. But it’s like I said on the previous thread. Sanders has been going on MSNBC and Progressive talk radio bad mouthing this President since 2009. This does not come as a surprise to any of us that have been paying attention. He’s only doing what he used to doing.
More Sanders criticism of @POTUS, saying he hasn't closed "presidential leadership gap." Would expect from RNC not D https://t.co/9kt073W7kR
I think this is what Bernie Sanders thinks. If that’s the case then he’s persona non grata to me. What a horrible thing to say and do. But the ‘disappointeds’ are absolutely sure they are right.
Donna, Bernie doesn’t understand the race he’s running because he’s an outsider trying to run on the Democratic ticket. He’s gotten away with standing on the outside of the circle and throwing brickbats because there were no consequences to him. He comes from a quirky state and the Democrats needed him to caucus with them. Now he’s trying to assume the mantle of a serious candidate in the Democratic Party and he doesn’t even know the language. To undermine the sitting president of your own party is to undermine your whole campaign if you’re running as a presidential contender. Bernie doesn’t get this, which is why the Democratic Party will, in its own way, slowly and inexorably, push him out. I would bet my last dollar on it.
Also BS had his meeting with PBO, then well known Black leaders in a way to have those seeing the photos think he had their support prior to elections it would matter at. Sort of establishment tactics wouldn’t you say?
Oh man, what a classic. I’m going to save this link for when i reaaally need to take some sandernistas down on social media. Of course, following along at TOD means a lot of this we already knew! You guys are just too good.
I have no issue with the nomination to playing itself out. Both HRC and Bernie talked trash about POTUS and verbally undermined his abilities and his accomplishments.
Both should be required to work for their votes and it will be what it will be.
He’s arriving in the morning …. gulp. Running around like a mad eejit today preparing for his arrival, you’d think the Queen was coming. I’m beginning to think it’d be easier to adopt a human baby, at least Danny wouldn’t be pissed. Back in a bit, have more running-around-like-an-eejit to do.
Exactly what I told Chips yesterday. Chips must be the pack leader, and if she makes it clear that she expects them to “get over it”, they will. And they will be happier for it. They actually act out and are more insecure if you give them all the power.
UhOh, I am missing a critical piece of the story here - I sigh. But I’ll find it when o come back from the vet with my rescue kitty, who will have a very sore mouth, but will be relieved to come home!
I heard on NPR last week that Mexico was going to allow the Mexican people to identify themselves as different cultures, i.e., euro-Mexican, white-Mexican, African-Mexican, etc., I think this is a very big mistake.

Iam with you Pretty Foot! By the way, when did Bernie Sanders officially become a Democrat? If he is a Democrat, how come he is still designated as an Independent U.S. Senator from Vemont?
I’LL NEVER FORGET COURT…I HAD WRITTEN A JOURNAL OF THINGS MY EX HAD DONE…HELD A GUN TO MY HEAD AND LOCKED ME IN THE BATHROOM…BECAUSE JUDGES HAD NO RESPECT FOR BATTERED WOMEN CASES…THEY GAVE HIM BACK HIS GUN ON HIS WAY OUT OF THE COURTROOM…ANYBODY TRIES THAT AGAIN…THEY’LL LOOK LIKE A SPRINKLING SYSTEM!

I HOPE PBO IS MANAGING SOME REST TIME IN BETWEEN ALL OF THIS…………….<3
IMO, many of Bernie’s supporters are drawn to the promises he is making [single payer, free college, etc.]. I note that a number of his supporters are young people…the what’s in it for me generation…the I want it *now* generation…the “the rules don’t apply to me” generation…the “I think I should have it because I want it” generation…the “if I have to work *too* hard for it, I don’t want it” generation. [Of course, this is a generalization and is probably more descriptive of the environment in which we live. ]
For this group of supporters, the word “revolution” plays right into their psyche. It gives the connotation of getting over on someone or some entity [Wall Street, Corporations, Big Banks, Government…].
That “want it all and want it now” attitude is one of the reasons the Bernie progressives are refusing to acknowledge the achievements of the Obama administration. Bernie is being insincere in that claim, but it works for him in his quest to attract supporters to his campaign.
Bernie Sanders keeps harping on past actions – i.e., his involvement in the Civil Rights Movement — as if that should be sufficient enough reason to support him. Many young people don’t have the same level of appreciation for the sacrifices during the Civil Rights Movement. They take for granted the freedoms they enjoy; the opportunities that are available to them. Many older people refuse to be fooled by the bait and switch. They’ve been down that road. For now, the words – the promises — are the draw. At some point, the support will only be sustained *if* Bernie can maintain the perception that he is able to follow through on the words.
President Obama’s opponents assume(d) that he was supported simply because of a surface feature — that he is a Black man. [Some of Hillary Clinton’s supporters are making the mistake of using that same logic — support her because she is a woman.] For *true* Obama supporters, it went more to the *substance*. We saw the substance in the way he organized and ran his campaign. We saw the substance in the fact that he didn’t just talk about what he wanted to do; he had a plan on how to do it; including the costs and the benefits. We continue to see the substance in the way he conducts himself as POTUS/CIC. And I believe that substance will be reflected in his life after the Presidency.
The simple fact that PBO chose, against lucrative financial offers, to spend time “in” the hood organizing for better living conditions for the residents. When did BS ever get down and dirty to benefit anyone?
How in the hell do Bernie Sanders think that he can step forth and claim that our President haven’t done a dam thing. How long have he been in politics and what have he done? I do not appreciate this one bit.
Good afternoon everyone. Always love to come here and read the news and the commentary. After reading it seems to me that Bernie Sanders is the Donald Trump for February. The press has replaced Trump love with the Bern, and I believe this too shall pass. They get all worked up over the first two primaries, and act as if Iowa and New Hampshire presage the November result. As those of us who take the long view, we know they don’t. So, now the press has run after the bright, shiny object, the Bern. By March, they will have a new toy. Sanders does NOT have staying power. Hillary has shown that she has, and I do think she has learned a LOT the past eight years. I was for Clinton between the two months ago, but Sanders and crew have made me a stronger advocate by their words and actions. I know I’m not alone.
DID YOU HEAR THE COMMENTS…LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL…WIZZED BY LIKE DOROTHY AND TOTO ON THE WAY TO KANSAS…………..I DO HAVE THOSE SHOES BY THE WAY..NEVER BEEN TO KANSAS!..I’LL SETTLE FOR A ONE WAY TICKET TO ISRAEL THOUGH!
Contrast Pres Obama’s speech on citizenship with the vision of Bernie Sanders. I have said it frequently of late, and some have accused me of red-baiting, but Bernie has a marxist vision of history and change. Today Al Sharpton said that Bernie was unable to explain to him how race and income equality are connected. As an undergraduate major in Political Science ( my post graduate work was in Counseling Psychology), I studied marixism. In marxism the fundamental dynamic of history and change is dialectical materialism. The internal contradictions of unregulated capitalism lead to growing class struggle and eventual overthrow of ruling class. There is no room for culture, gender, environment, race or anything else than class struggle in that theory. So historically marxist theory has dismissed gender, race, ethnicity, and spiritual development as having any importance in human history and transformation. Bernie’s own development was initially based on his living in a communist oriented kibbutz in Israel in the 1940s before Israel’s nationhood. This kibbutz was affiliated with Soviet style communism. Imbued with this marxist outlook he went on to further his own vision of socialism in other movements and in political life, and even after being elected mayor of Burlington VT took a trip to Nicaragua and Cuba in the 1980s praising those marxist regimes as models of governance. So today, Bernie’s entire “shtick” is about “billionaires” and “the people”. Its appeal is its oversimplification of human diversity. It’s a one dimensional model that ignores the entire culture of discrimination and assault on human dignity, particularly sexism and racism.
In contrast President Obama, who has an intellectual and spiritual depth beyond Bernie and his marxist views, is one who affirms the innate dignity and worth of the human spirit, and the infinite diversity and richness of humankind. Hence, political change comes about not through class struggle but through the formation of coalitions of individuals that affirm diversity and lift up human beings without relegating them to pawns in the class war. President Obama does not diminish or demonize anyone. Bernie diminishes anyone who opposes him. Today he and his supporters went too far by trying to diminish John Lewis, a true legend and hero in the civil rights movement. And today he reaffirmed his attacks and attempts to diminish President Obama. He will NOT gain the support of the Obama Coalition, which means he will never win the nomination. Today was a crucial day in this process.
“There is no room for culture, gender, environment, race or anything else than class struggle in that theory. So historically marxist theory has dismissed gender, race, ethnicity, and spiritual development as having any importance in human history and transformation.”…
Thank you! This needed to be said. I was a poli-sci major in college myself and an all women’s college at that. I distinctly remember the “light bulb” moments of some of my classmates during my wonderful professor’s lectures as they began to understand the “one dimensionality” of this theory.
Good clear explanation Bill. No social or political movement can ignore the differences in people and expect to last. Very monolithic. Even their architecture is a metaphor for their philosophy. I think Bernie has peaked. He has been the bright, shiny object the last two weeks…….we’ve been through a number already. He is the latest.
I agree 100%. I read elsewhere BS supporters warning super delegates to recognise primaries/caucus’s results. Sheesh!!!! 2 out of 50 states completed so far. These guys are counting their chickens before the eggs hatch.
Yep! It’s supposedly the image of a professor (actually Cornel regards himself as a prophet) who pays little concern for his outward image because he is engrossed in the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom.
I remember this moment and picture. It was taken on the White House Lawn when he was begging people to notice him and wave at him and hardly anyone was around, and no one would wave at him. Stupid, stupid, stupid man.
*chuckle-chuckle* Thanks, Nathk. I don’t think I would have arrived there from where *he* started. I may have been thrown off because he started with an actual word that could have had something to do with patriotism. ;);)
Wow! I just returned from filling my gas tank…..$1.15 a gallon! 11.69gallons for $13.45! Of course, this low price has ripped our truly stupid governor/s income tax reduction to shreds, although she can’t accept that yet. People here are yelling, because we are so dependent on oil and gas, while the other states are thrilled. I’m thrilled……Hope the rest of you have gasoline as inexpensive as mine.
THESE BOYS HAVE NO INTENTION OF HELPING ANYONE…THEIR TREASURE CHEST WILL BE USED AS DOWNPAYMENT ON THEIR GOVERNMENT TAKEOVER…THEY COULD CARE LESS…REMEMBER?…THEY ARE GOING TO TAKE THEIR COUNTRY BACK!…RAMBO WANNABEES EVERYWHERE…YOU SHOULD SEE INDIANA…DISGUSTS ME…!!!!

Hey Bobfr and TOD. I have already started sharing. This is a very good read.
Definitely a must read.
Yay for MP! Happy to see you first here.
Good Afternoon, MP. Congrats! :-D
Because PBO rocks the Cradle of the Future, with his strong, caring and capable hands. God Bless the :bear:
Hello, Chatters! And congrats, MP!

Breaking- Fry walks out. Happy I was wrong. Apparently he was in contact with FBI negotiators as well as the nut jobs on the livefeed.

“presidential leadership gap.”
I have no clue what that means.
In 2009, he was the ‘principled indie’.
2016 is totally different where he poses as a dem.
I think this is what Bernie Sanders thinks. If that’s the case then he’s persona non grata to me. What a horrible thing to say and do. But the ‘disappointeds’ are absolutely sure they are right.

Or both.
I have no issue with the nomination to playing itself out. Both HRC and Bernie talked trash about POTUS and verbally undermined his abilities and his accomplishments.

Chips, how’s the rescue doggie doing?
so bt, got the feller (who shall remain unnamed at present) back yet?

It’s a hair on fire twitter a/c. Pun intended. I would just ignore it.

Good for Hakeem Jeffries. These are the kinds of things we all have to be saying.

So relieved he didn’t decide to kill himself or provoke the FBI to fire on him. Quite the Bundy family reunion in my fair city.
Me too. I was listening to the live feed and he really seemed to almost lose it a couple of times.
An nervous breakdown on live feed someone called it.
And his supporters just cannot understand why HRC has all the superdelegates
No different than Republicans running for office even though they want smaller government. They also work to create chaos and make government dysfunctional and ineffective. Is that what Bernie is hoping to do to the Democratic Party?
Exactly PF. This is the thing that has bothered me about Bernie Sanders (INDEPENDENT) from the beginning. He suddenly decides he wants to be the Democratic Party standard-bearer while simultaneously being dismissive of President Obama and Democrats accomplishments. GTFOH
Good question. He is NOT a democrat, never has been. Has been an enemy of the Dem Party from the beginning.
just imagine for a moment …he won the nomination…how can POTUS campaign for him….how can any DEM campaign for him
No one can understand because Bernie is misplaced within the Democratic Party. He’s not a Dem and shouldn’t run as one.
Iam with you Pretty Foot! By the way, when did Bernie Sanders officially become a Democrat? If he is a Democrat, how come he is still designated as an Independent U.S. Senator from Vemont?
Can they sue him? Why do these pols use peoples music without their permission? Is it because they can’t do anything about it?

And today he reaffirmed his attacks and attempts to diminish President Obama. He will NOT gain the support of the Obama Coalition, which means he will never win the nomination. Today was a crucial day in this process.
Thanks so much for this, Bill!
Excellent, Bill.
Bravo!
Good information, Bill. Thanks!
Thanks, Bill, your words give me hope.
Thanks for the good words, friends. I’m glad I communicated what I intended to.
I agree 100%. I read elsewhere BS supporters warning super delegates to recognise primaries/caucus’s results. Sheesh!!!! 2 out of 50 states completed so far. These guys are counting their chickens before the eggs hatch.
Before the eggs are even laid!
h/t Allison :)
bbl …
Bob, thank you so much for sharing Philip Devlin’s article at TPV. It’s absolutely a must read!
Of course, nath! Hope all is good for you and your family and your daughter continues to make progress on her dissertation.
According to Fox… his approval rating is 77 % with Republicans.
lol…
I know looks aren’t everything, but I can’t remember ever seeing Cornel West when he *looked* sane.
because he’s not…
indeed
The look is all contrived! He thinks it makes him look so intellectual.
Intellectual? Really? smh
Yep! It’s supposedly the image of a professor (actually Cornel regards himself as a prophet) who pays little concern for his outward image because he is engrossed in the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom.
  [That’s all I’ll add.]
Yep! His silence speaks volumes
EVEN THOUGH I CAN’T STAND HIM…IT’S SOCIETY’S FAULT FOR SUCKING IT UP….DISGUSTING AND SHAMEFUL!
NO WONDER THE WATER IN FLINT IS BAD!
I remember this moment and picture. It was taken on the White House Lawn when he was begging people to notice him and wave at him and hardly anyone was around, and no one would wave at him. Stupid, stupid, stupid man.
TAKE A GOOD LONG LOOK AT TWEETIE’S FACE..THEN COMPARE IT TO CRUZ!….BOOKENDS!
No, this one has a pleasant smile……of stupidity…. more often than not. Cruz is mostly creepy….of the skin crawling type.
These babies are breaking my heart……
I HATE PESTICIDES…THEY KILL PEOPLE…BETTER CHECK WHAT’S IN IT!…THOSE EFFECTS CAN BE WORSE THAN ZIKA!
Well… they probably need a little De-Scenting since they have not bathed in 41 days.
Lol
Okay, generally I can at least decipher what they are trying to say, but this one has lost me. What’s his message?
I think the message the sign is trying to convey is: “Dissent is the Highest Form of Patriotism.”
*chuckle-chuckle* Thanks, Nathk. I don’t think I would have arrived there from where *he* started. I may have been thrown off because he started with an actual word that could have had something to do with patriotism. ;) ;)
Haha…..
Some people are just too much.
Ridiculous that we have to pass a law for something that should be common sense. Sigh!
Even sadder that the crisis had to get national attention for anything to be done.
Yes, you have to pass a law because some Gov’s make the agencies wait until they can cover their asses.
The thing is you have to make it a criminal offense if someone prevents an agency from reporting to the public.
I can relate….The first time I saw my grand babies do this I about had a heart attack. I just laugh now!
EITHER CARPET BURN OR A FUTURE PART IN THE CHURCH CHOIR AS A SOPRANO…LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!
IN THIS CASE…THEY NEED TO INVENT PAMPERS WITH SWEEPER ATTACHMENTS!…:)
:D :D
The Republicans are sorry SOB, if this is true.
