Good luck, Chips. I hope you’ll someday have time to fill us in how how your new one got re-homed with you again. Hope things go better for you today than you expect.
Good morning Ms. Chips, Danny and TOD family, I hope all is well with everyone this lovely Friday morning. TGIF>> Congrats swbluega, on being first this morning.
To all, I hope you have a foot-stomping, heart-throbbing, jaw-dropping, jolly good time today. <3<3<3
Thank God that President Obama is still the President of The United States of America. ⭐🏆 ⭐🏆 ⭐🏆
It is so disingenuous to use that line. The ‘disappointeds’ are absolutely running against the President’s record. They are using GOP attack points, GOP numbers to trash the recovery, etc. Not only are they providing friendly fire against their own but they are doing the same bait and switch. Attack and then when there’s push back, deny it and claim your opponent is unfair in general. Typical GOP methods.
I had these thoughts about Sander’s line about running against Obama for the presidency as the tweets shown. My immediate reaction was saying “What?!?” to myself while scrunching up my nose and thinking “How does that even make sense or relate?”
Clinton to Sanders: You're no friend of Obama's. https://t.co/T6bHrBGiK0
— Brian Beutler (@brianbeutler) February 12, 2025
Obama certainly has greater enemies in politics than Sanders—but that was in many ways Clinton’s point. Sanders lays setbacks at Obama’s feet that should rightly be attributed to Republicans and the right’s massive resistance to his presidency. Sanders’s disenchantment with Obama thus isn’t a just a simple question of loyalty or partisanship, but a reminder of the political naivete that makes him imagine he’d face any less resistance.
G’morning Amk, Chips & TOD!!! :) Thanks Mr Amk for holding down the fort while our Chips is away. Congrats swbluega on #1, and Happy Friday everyone! :):)
When I first read the request for the delay I thought they were meaning Reagan’s request about the hostage crisis prisoner release. I did not realize it was the current GOP meddler obstructionists that were being referenced.
After your head stops spinning from the word salad, you decide you don’t even want to point out that he didn’t answer the question…much less call him on it knowing it will get you more of the same.
The words I heard Clinton use in a clip of one of her rallies was “secure the progress we have made and build on it”. There it is in a nutshell. Is that too much to ask? No. Hillary Clinton gets it and is not a egotist who’s approaching this process. She has the sense to say she would not be entering the White House after Bush say with a rapidly collapsing economy. She has something to build on now and keep going and thousands of active OFA people continuing issue advocacy and organizational training. What’s not to want to keep going. Revolution implies off with the heads of the current leaders otherwise why call it a revolution. Evolution not revolution.
I don’t think HRC will say that PBO was a perfect President. She has actually said that she disagreed with some of his policies (or aspects of his policies). PBO has said that he didn’t want yes-men surrounding him. In her role as SoS, I’m sure HRC wasn’t a “yes-man” and I’d bet she didn’t sit silently when she disagreed.
We are uncovering the truth of the emoprog. They have left President Obama to fend for himself with the worst opposition imaginable and still he has made progress for them. They have to justify their abandonment and friendly fire now and proclaim themselves the saviors. Wait until they meet up with the seething memories of all the Obama supporters and volunteers when they casually put out their bubble thinking.
Another thing. I am really growing to not just want the President’s progress secured but to anticipate the wise woman that will have an opportunity to build on it but also add her own genius to the process. I never thought I’d get to this point but I am not only content to vote for her but excited. Who knew?
Honestly, I have no problem with people supporting whomever they like. They have their reasons just as we have our reasons for supporting who we like.
What I can’t stomach is their need to tear people down with their vitriol and personal attacks as the way to build up your candidate.
For those people who were once HRC supporters, unless she personally did something to the individual, I especially find the level of attacks to be insincere and hypocritical.
What is that dog whistling, cause I didn’t hear it. It was Bernie Sanders decision to go down the road of attacking President Obama as if he has been a failure. Sanders knew darn well that the rest of the country is not like Iowa and NH. The President approval rating with blacks is still very high and we do not appreciate Sanders and his supporters acting like this President was a failure. And Sanders said race relations would be better under him, B.S.
Its a kind of cluelessness that I seen running parallel on the other side. If you operate in your own echo chamber you just don’t anticipate what some of your opinions sound like to others outside of your bubble. Sanders seems to have little perception of the diversity of opinion in this country. Also sending out hordes of attack dogs will unsettle people a little for awhile since they were not anticipating it but once people figure out the tactic, they will push back and that’s another thing Sanders didn’t anticipate. If Hillary were a man, if the Dem party were the GOP in this situation, Chris Christie clones would have taken Sanders down with a litany of communism smears. That’s what the GOP are rubbing their hands together to do if Sanders wins the nomination. (Priebus seems to have given that away pretty well though this week).
Well the progress will be secured come hell or high water and we may be “no drama’ Obama types but ask Bin Laden or Cliven Bundy what that’s about.
I simply find Turner a bit of obnoxious, and that is way before HRC announced that she would run. She needs to take the animation of her passion down a notch. It will bring rational to her thinking. Not that I am asking her to switch camp, she can, as said before, support whomever she likes. But with a little moderation in her excitement, she will do more good to her candidate, to the primaries, and definitely to unity for the general elections. Amen.
Oh, as for Ed Schultz, though I have great respect for his passion in defending the middle class and “the workers that take a shower after work”, I can’t count the many evenings I have to put him on MUTE if not turn off the TV entirely. The attacks against a POTUS that was facing such obstruction from Congress were too much for my delicate taste.
Here, in her closing statement, is the alternative to imitating Bernie or tweaking him on specifics, the latter of which she did for most of this debate. Rather than contest Sanders on policy or fealty to the Democratic mainstream, she directly addressed his worldview—not with an attack, but with a critique. Yes, she says, she agrees that there’s too much money in politics and that Wall Street should be punished and controlled. But she also sees beyond these problems to other ills, and she believes they have to be addressed on their own terms.
“Yes, does Wall Street and big financial interests along with drug companies, insurance companies, big oil, all of it, have too much influence? You’re right,” she said. “But if we were to stop that tomorrow, we would still have the indifference, the negligence that we saw in Flint. We would still have racism holding people back. We would still have sexism preventing women from getting equal pay.”
Hillary is not the same candidate she was in 2008. I don’t think she’s that good an actress to pull off what I’m seeing, and I’ve been paying a lot of attention and have been extremely skeptical. I feel comfortable with her as POTUS on even a bad day, and I’m actually warming to her on good days.
Everyone scratched their heads in 2008 when PBO picked her for SoS. Even she was surprised! Everyone assumed she would be tapped for something domestic. What a stroke of genius on his part - what she has learned and how she has grown because she was SoS is remarkable. The world knows her, they trust her, if even the emoprogs in her country don’t. I shudder to think of the rings the international community would run around Sanders. He is simply not competent on the international stage.
Yes, I know there are many complaints of her hawkishness. But you have to be able to “go there” in a complex world if need be, and women have to prove they are strong. However, she learned from PBO and she is now more careful, thoughtful, aware and willing to stretch the boundaries of diplomacy as far as they can go before taking drastic action. This is simply not the same Hillary.
Will I ever truly trust her again? Am I over the stings from 2008? I will never be. But we are going to elect a new POTUS in 2016 no matter what, and we all must look to that future. I don’t need PBO to be enshrined (as he always will be in my heart), but I want to move the progressive ball down the field away from GOP treason back to an America that I recognize and love. Bernie is not that standard bearer. I am becoming more and more convinced that Hillary is.
I know. Its amazing to realize this might not be a pinch ones nose and vote situation. These things I fell in love with this week. “Secure the progress and build on it”. Brilliant. Next, coal country citizens have spent generations extracting the power that drove our industrial engines at the price of their health and safety. As coal becomes a thing of the past we owe them our help to transition and rebuild their economy with new jobs. Its the same powerful truth that “Joining Forces” was for me. Love it beyone words. Next, women have been suffering because they take so many years off to care for others. Their social security is jeopardized. Hillary is aware of that and making it a priority to address. Also loved when she said young people may not be for her but she was absolutely for them.
I can’t tell you how much it means to start falling in love again. Doesn’t mean my heart doesn’t belong to Obama but love doesn’t divide it multiplies, right? I am starting to hear respect, empower, include policies and perspectives coming from a wise woman. Yay!
It’s up to us, catrst, to get this word out, because the MSM is not reporting this difference, - and dare I say? - eloquence from Hillary. I constantly check myself to see if I am “pushing” it, or if I’m really seeing this transformation. And I believe I am. And wisdom is earned and it grows. One my issues about Sanders - he hasn’t changed one thing in over 50 years. That’s not wisdom, that is small-minded zealotry.
PBO would NEVER expect us to ration out our “love”. Nothing would make him happier than for us to love his standard-bearer. He sees the big picture and the long haul, and so must we.
I did it. I donated to Hillary yesterday and I will start to donate more. Sanders is a menace, and the GOP will literally tear this country apart, perhaps irreparably. It certainly won’t be repearable in my lifetime (I’m almost 66).
Very well said, 57&F! You said what I’ve been thinking and feeling.
There will never be another PBO. VP Joe also would not have been another PBO. Hillary will do some things I don’t like, I’m sure. But I expect she may also surprise me. I agree that she’s not the same HRC from pre 2008.
If we truly love him, as of course we do, the most important thing we can do is see that his accomplishments establish an enduring mark on our future. I feel that so deeply. That I am growing more and more to trust Hillary to bring that going forward, is as big a surprise to myself as it is to you!
I thought she was terrific last night, and I was so proud of my hometown!
I had to giggle at the punditry leading up to the debate. They expected the “far progressive crowd of UW(M)” to be for Sanders. First of all UWM is NOT UW-Madison. Yes, plenty progressives, but it’s a common sense university. It’s my alma mater. Yeah, I’m going back have a century almost, but the laziness of not knowing the difference between Madison and Milwaukee was a tad hilarious.
So that explains the title I saw on a Daily Kos diary dismissing the audience at the debate. I can’t remember the comparison they made but it struck me as saying they were unrepresentative and outdated people. So now we start dismissing the voters. Great strategy Bernie bros.
If PBO had called the GOP on their obstruction and racism, he would have been labeled as weak and a whiner, because he would have been complaining each and every day of his years as POTUS.
For some, if they were to acknowledge the GOP Obstruction and racism, it kinda shoots hole in their argument that Pres. O is a failure.
— Michael Hargrove (@MichaelHargrov1) February 12, 2025
But PBO never reacted the way the GOP hoped that he would, and to their dismay, PBO showed wisdom and strength of character. He learned from the obstructive behavior and made them stepping stones to continue forward with his agenda.

Calling out the GOP and all the posers and white supremacists who hate on and obstruct because POTUS is BLACK, be they Dem, Rep, Indie, or whatever is OUR JOB, not President Obama’s.
Problem is that way too many DEMS are just as much as fault as are the #NEWSTAINERS and other #KLEPTOCRAT whores.
What has sickened me more than anything, however, is observing People of Color bashing President Obama. That will never compute, for me.
“Problem is that way too many DEMS are just as much as fault as are the #NEWSTAINERS and other #KLEPTOCRAT whores.”
***Silence is not golden and impassiveness denotes approval.***
“What has sickened me more than anything, however, is observing People of Color bashing President Obama. That will never compute, for me.”
It is disappointing to me as well, Bobfr, especially when the bashing is not based in fact. Sadly, some believe that they have a grievance with the President because they are willing to listen to and believe what the MSM promotes. Their individual circumstance might support that perceived grievance, but to me, that still doesn’t justify the bashing.
Worse though, are the ones who know better that are doing the bashing. To me, they have an agenda. What that agenda is, I don’t know. Ones like West and Smiley just want to validate themselves. Some may have a political agenda … perhaps some position in a Sanders administration, or a way to get visibility of a pet issue. Again, still doesn’t justify it.
Unfortunately, rock and hard place come into play. Just as we don’t think it’s okay for POC to say that they voted for or support PBO because he is black, we can’t turn around and say they can’t criticize him for the same reason. Again the problem is that criticism is usually not fair nor based on fact and goes beyond what is reasonable.
And if he had bellowed from Day One, they would have labeled him the Scary Black Man. What drives me insane about the whiny left - how can they assume that if he had behaved in the opposite way, everything would have been great? GOP was prepared for anything and everything. It’s childish and ridiculous to think otherwise.
Not a shock, but Bobby Jindal left Louisiana in a financial shambles. So much so, that the new Governor is threatening the state university system, warning what’s gonna happen if they don’t come correct with funds.
Good Friday, AMK…TOD Family!!!
GM swb.
Well, you’re a little treasure - thank you SO much Amk!!!! #Petal

Excellently, stated, Ladyhawke.
And imagine if the likes of Bernie Sanders and all the other whiny Dems had had PBO’s back, united. More might have been accomplished.
Thanks 57. Great expansion of this point as well.
Excellent. Thank you, Ladyhawke.
G’morning Amk, Chips & TOD!!! :) Thanks Mr Amk for holding down the fort while our Chips is away. Congrats swbluega on #1, and Happy Friday everyone! :) :)
yer late.
Good morning amk, sorry I didn’t recognize you started the “Early Morning Chat”. Great Job. 👌👍👊✊
wow, so many thumbs up. :) Thx man.
A stellar performance.

Their hatred for PBO and their desire to see him fail overshadows their so-called love for this country.
It’s all St Ronnie’s fault, don’t ya know ….
Bobfr, Great minds think alike. I tweeted practically the same thing :-)

GM swbluega.
Good Morning, arapaho415.
Huh? Snake oil salesman. Geeze! If it was THIS EASY, then PBO has been working WAAAAAAAAAY too hard! WTH is this mess??
After your head stops spinning from the word salad, you decide you don’t even want to point out that he didn’t answer the question…much less call him on it knowing it will get you more of the same.
Can someone salvage my comment from the WP swamp? It was for AMK.
sorry jg, wp ate it.
Good Morning TOD
Have a great O’Day Everyone
Good morning TOD!
Thank you amk :)
Bottom line ….
bbl …
Good morning TODville and thank you, amk, for kicking off Early Morning Chat. Happy Friday to all!!

w/Nina Turner…i thought that something happened in her bid to become SOS….not sure what…but i was really surprise when she became a Sanders supporter
I think I gasped when I saw Turner’s announcement that she had switched her support.
umm hmm

there’s so much wrong with this…I can’t even begin to explain, but I’m gonna think about it while I’m out.

“GOP was prepared for anything and everything.” Prepared for everything EXCEPT PBO running circles around them by keeping his nose to the grindstone!
This! Right! Here! :-) :-) :-)
Good West Coast morning amk, Chipsticks & TOD family.
Thanks amk for stepping up. 😇
she is a lil preoccupied at this moment.
I think I missed the memo. Is she taking the dog back from the lady at the vet who seemed perfect? Or a new one? I’m confused.
yup. no.
OH
She is taking the doggie back, and quite nervous about it. amk and I have offered our advice and expertise, but she’s still all aflutter.
Thx, 57!
And I imagine she’s building a second house for the new resident to reside in cuz Danny ain’t gonna be happy if he has to share 😳
OMG, I just got followed by Konrad Ng, PBO’s brother-in-law. {{{{{{fainting couch}}}}}

Not a shock, but Bobby Jindal left Louisiana in a financial shambles. So much so, that the new Governor is threatening the state university system, warning what’s gonna happen if they don’t come correct with funds.
NO! Not a shock about Jindal. Republicans always leave a mess for Democrats to clean up. Just ask President Obama.
Good Morning TODVille.
Good Morning amk, BFF, and TOD.
