I did say “tries” :) - In over 7 years the media has “tried and failed” to set an agenda for the President. Someone should explain to them about doing the same thing over & over while expecting different results.
Hiya niliathiel, I’m sure it’s supposed to be about the summit, but you know yourself, the press usually ignore the theme of a news conference and focus on something else - in this case, Scalia!
His reaction to those reporters reminds me quite a bit of the subtle sarcasm i display when explaining a very easy task again to the kid who asks a dumb question because he didn´t read the assignment…
Were there even ANY questions about the summit? What I heard was a lot of “journalists” trying to tell PBO what he was thinking and have him respond to it.
THEY TRANSLATE THE CONSTITUTION THE SAME WAY THEY TRANSLATE THE BIBLE……GENTLE JOURNEY HOME MR. PRESIDENT…YOU TAKE OUR HEARTS WITH YOU………………………………….BBL…DINNER AWAITS!
Loved the way that PBO trolled the press during news conference, but they’re too dense to understand he was suggesting that they start covering Campaign 2016 as a serious matter, not as reality TV.
@GoBrooklyn Dontcha know MSM are mindreaders? They display supernatural ability every day, as they speculate on @POTUS thoughts. @metaquest

As I’ve been saying for 3 years now, climate change is here now (Feb 16, dead of winter, and it’s almost 90F outside now :( ).
@ucanrwater @ConversationUS New normal SoCal native, summer arrival: 2014-Jan 2015-Apr 2016-Feb VenturaCounty=Less rain this yr than last :(
Loved PBO’s implied message to MSM (aka trolling of):
1) Do your job and report the facts (e.g., Rubio, all GOP candidates, not just Trump)
2) There are other issues facing the world that aren’t related to GOP implosion or Scalia’s death — remember climate change???

Taking a brake in my workday and just listened to the President (Thank you Chips!).
First, let me just vent about that last questioner who asked if PBO blamed himself for the obstruction. I know I’m preaching to the choir here at TOD, and I know we’ve heard that cr*p before but, I just had to scream out loud at my computer, “What?! He should blame himself for others’ racism?” I’m just so done with this sh!t.
Finally, I have decided that I need to listen to PBO speak once each day for the foreseeable future. I have been feeling increasingly anxious about the Primaries and the General Election. I noticed that just now, as I listened to PBO speak, my heart slowed down, my blood pressure and anxiety decreased and a calm sense of trust came over me. This is not the first time this has happened. In fact, I always feel reassured when I hear the President speak. The next time anxiety creeps up on me, I’m going to do an immediate YouTube search for one of PBO’s speeches or interviews.
“I noticed that just now, as I listened to PBO speak, my heart slowed down, my blood pressure and anxiety decreased and a calm sense of trust came over me. This is not the first time this has happened.”
MANY of us have experienced this very phenomenon, MadameSoph! You are not alone. This why the American people love listening to him when he speaks directly to us, and this is why it drives GOP and their friends in the media berserk whenever he speaks to us!! :):)
YES!!!!!! Oh my goodness, you are so right, MadameSoph. This is true for me, too. Such a relief, a boost, a comfort, and inspiration, no matter the setting, the topic, the mood I had going in. He brings such depth, strength, honesty, goodness, and not-about-to-take-anybody’s-baloney smartness. And unless it’s one of those MANY tragic occasions, that smile is always going to come back out, even though they do try to land arrows and make him wrong. PBO is the cure for what ails me. A daily medicine — A speech a day! Thanks MadameSoph.
I noticed that too Donna! I also noticed the way he framed the job requirements (Having to sometimes make tough, unpopular choices, etc.), seemed to be not only referring to the GOP contenders.
If I remember correctly, Alito’s confirmation was a tough one, in the end they confirmed him, but he had to answer a lot of questions. If PBO put a hold on him it was for a damned good reason.
“The Hillary caricature you see in the press is not the Hillary Clinton I came to know by reading those emails.
Yes, she had powerful friends in powerful places — though I didn’t actually see any emails from Goldman Sachs. And yes, she approached those friends the very same way she approached people on her staff, or people she met in the course of being Secretary of State. She rejoiced in their joys and shared their sorrows. They weren’t just ticks on a political scoreboard. They were friends.
You could tell there were some squabbles internally with other members of the Obama administration, but there was also unflagging, utmost respect for the man who occupied the White House – the office she fought so valiantly to attain.
It’s a hard thing to swallow one’s pride and step to the side, but Hillary did it with class and with dignity. Not only that, she made the most of every minute of her tenure as Secretary of State. Not a day went by where she shirked the duty vested in her.
In short, she proved herself beyond what any other candidate has done, and she did it professionally, assertively, and without drama.”
Thanks 57,
I had no interest in any of those emails. Ha! Now I’m thinking I might want to read them (well, maybe not ALL of them :-) ). I’m meeting with a friend tomorrow for dinner and am preparing myself to tell her that I’m supporting HRC now. Before VP Biden announced and while MO’M was still a possibility, we were both like, “I still haven’t forgotten 2008, lady” (we used a less friendly term than “lady”). We both wanted anyone but HRC, although I was a little more open to it than she was, knowing the stakes. She doesn’t follow politics like I do, and I know she respects my opinion. I will share this with her. She is a Scorpio, like HRC and also an executive and a mom. I think the article would speak to her.
So was that Ron of NBC news who asked the President if he blamed himself for the increased rancor…in the country…..i could put my foot up his butt…this so-called Negro who would ask the President such a question….
I am late to the table and just watched the President’s press conference. Seems like I missed the question/s about ASEAN - did you all cut out that part before I arrived?
First?
Yes! :-)
Congrats NCLB on #1! :)
Congrats on 1st-est NCLB
Love seeing PBO - but the thought does cross my mind - over 50% of the world’s population is female - sure doesn’t look like it in this picture.
MOST OF THE ASEAN AREAS ARE NOT GIVEN TO FEMININE RULE….THEY ARE STILL BURIED IN THE MALE TRADITION…BOY ARE THEY MISSING OUT!
I’VE BEEN WAITING…SET MY ALARM…TOOK A BENADRYL AND IT KNOCKED ME OUT ALL AFTERNOON…NOW…I HAVE A PLEASANT WAY TO WAKE UP!…
OF COURSE…THEE MOST AMAZING PRESIDENT THIS COUNTRY WILL EVER SEE IS RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE…LOVE YOU PBO…FIRE IT UP!
Welcome Sue!
THANK YOU CHIPS……………….<3
And - as usual - the media tries to set the agenda for PBO
He will probably address the death but he will do so on his own terms and not allow the media to frame his arguments with their usual talking points.
I did say “tries” :) - In over 7 years the media has “tried and failed” to set an agenda for the President. Someone should explain to them about doing the same thing over & over while expecting different results.
:D :D
what? that first pic with Jeb!’s gun is beyond strange in my mind. just saying. WTH?
This might be a stupid question but is this a regular presser or is PBO going to address a particular topic?
Nevermind, it´s late, I guess I have an idea.
Hiya niliathiel, I’m sure it’s supposed to be about the summit, but you know yourself, the press usually ignore the theme of a news conference and focus on something else - in this case, Scalia!

 Perfect!!
I thought it was related to the Conference?? but the US media can only handle one topic at a time & the current topic is SCOTUS
I LOVE YOU AG LORETTA LYNCH!…SOUL SISTA!’
I am not sure if we can Guarantee the presence of Justice….
PBO is on!!!!
This is a great judge - thanks Allison
JUST LOOK AT OUR AMAZING AND OH SO MATURE PRESIDENT…CANCEL THE ELECTION…HE HAS TO STAY!
I’ll second! :D
He definitely does not look his age today….and I mean that in the good way.
:-)
This really has caught out those who roam the earth with the constitution in the top pocket.
When PBO said this I hollered. My sister called me to hoop and holla about that one sentence. PBO is everything.
I love my President! :)
Me too
me 3 HF! :-)
IF ANY OF THESE REPUGNANT DUNG MACHINES TRIES TO HURT MY PBO…I WILL BE ALL OVER THEM LIKE WHITE ON RICE AND THEY WON’T ENJOY IT!
I HOPE THE REPUGNANT PARTY DESTROYS ITSELF………………..THEY HAVE LOST THEIR HUMANITY…PRAYING FOR MY PBO WHO HAS TO DEAL WITH THESE LOSERS ON A DAILY BASIS!
The Only Adult In The Room.
I’M GLAD HE IS GOING HOME BUT I HATE TO SEE HIM GO BACK TO THE COLD…THE SUN IS SO GOOD FOR HIM!

I am wondering whether I am the only one strangely fixated on that shirt button. O_o
Well, I wasn’t before you mentioned it…. Now it totally stands out. Thanks Niliathiel!
LOL…MY SCORE IS CLASSIFIED!……………….:)
THAT’S RIGHT MR. PRESIDENT…ALL OF THE CANDIDATES HAVE…FILL IN THE BLANKS!
Once again ….
Moreover ….
Throwin shade without sayin’ a word. LAWD!
“ALOT OF PEOPLE COUNT ON US TO GET IT RIGHT!’….AMEN INDEED!
Wow, my President is laying it out fact by fact. So happy that he is addressing the seriousness of this office.
REALITY DOES HAVE A WAY OF INTRUDING SIR……………………YOU ARE SO LOVED!
It is always so reassuring to have such a great man, an intelligent, wise, compassionate person, as our national leader and world leader.
Were there even ANY questions about the summit? What I heard was a lot of “journalists” trying to tell PBO what he was thinking and have him respond to it.
i do not think so…this is why the American People do not know what is happening…how many even knew that summit was taking place
THEY TRANSLATE THE CONSTITUTION THE SAME WAY THEY TRANSLATE THE BIBLE……GENTLE JOURNEY HOME MR. PRESIDENT…YOU TAKE OUR HEARTS WITH YOU………………………………….BBL…DINNER AWAITS!
Caught the end of the press conference……AWESOME!!!!!!!
You caught the best part Caryl.
Reporters still beating their heads against that brick wall
reporter: can we assume your pick will be moderate?
O: No. Do not assume anything about the nomination, except that they will be qualified.
(From LGF - I didn’t hear it)
GM 99ts.
Loved the way that PBO trolled the press during news conference, but they’re too dense to understand he was suggesting that they start covering Campaign 2016 as a serious matter, not as reality TV.

Hi Arapaho - the pundits don’t even listen to the answers - just report their own viewpoint
I heard it 99ts, that part was awesome! :-) His “no” was definite and emphatic!
They just keep trying to tell him what to do & he keeps explaining that the media does not run the government. What a delight.
GA Chips.

Bottle of water in hand…..
that made me laugh out loud. I can’t imagine Stump knowing much of anything beyond his very small circle of yes people.

yep
WOW..our President’s responses to some of these questions was a thing of beauty.
Agree HF. I watched it and will have to go and watch it again. I think I missed some stuff. But it was a zinger. Stupid Media.
I noticed that too Donna! I also noticed the way he framed the job requirements (Having to sometimes make tough, unpopular choices, etc.), seemed to be not only referring to the GOP contenders.
Steve Kornacki has been melting down since yesterday because PBO joined a filibuster for Alito. (10 years ago )
Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh………………………………
Alito is a horrible pick for SCOTUS he shook his head no when PBO said Citizen United was bad decision.
good! not that Republican congress persons will listen to that. but I’m glad there are ppl out there urging responsibility
Slightly off topic
So now I’m off to exercise class - if I die of a heart attack, please start a conspiracy about the evil of exercise classes
:D :D
Hope your mom is home safe vc - bestest wishes to her
Not home yet, TS, but doing better while being monitored.
Good to know she is being well cared for
Yea. We do have a good medical system that creates confidence. :)
VC, my thoughts and prayers for you, and your mom.
If I remember correctly, Alito’s confirmation was a tough one, in the end they confirmed him, but he had to answer a lot of questions. If PBO put a hold on him it was for a damned good reason.

Back to work for me Bob, no time.
Yes she did.

I am late to the table and just watched the President’s press conference. Seems like I missed the question/s about ASEAN - did you all cut out that part before I arrived?
As usual the WHPC didn’t bother asking the President any questions about the ASEAN Summit.
