I wouldn’t accept a poll of my Chicago neighborhood with only 282 people.
And if that same subset was pro-Hillary, we’d be hearing that over 2/3 of NV voters are so turned off, they have no intention of voting.
Dem turnout is down this year, but Bernie’s entire message is that the “people” will rise up and be engaged. He isn’t engaging anywhere near as many people as PBO did. But Bernie’s the savior?
I have a son and daughter-in-law who live in Reno. They caucused for Obama in 2008. I worry they will be caucusing for Bernie this year. She jumped on his bandwagon almost immediately and sends all kinds of FB posts out about how wonderful he is. I have not talked to her about it, but have on the phone to my son when I know he is alone. No headway though.
She fits the personality type to follow Bernie as she has a quick temper and is a know it all being a non listener and gets firmly entrenched in her opinion. One time we were in a discussion initiated by her involving preschoolers, stay at home moms and working moms. I was giving her credit as a working mom with excellent day care for the kids, but she wanted me to diss stay at home moms. I had been a stay at home mom till my kids were all in school full time after working full time for four years before having kids. My youngest daughter is at home with her one year old. I said it depends on the situation that it can work in favor of the child or not either way. She blew up. Accused me of yelling (which was not the case). She would not even listen to me say I had not meant to upset her. She did not look at me or speak to me for two days. I was visiting for a little less than a week with a no change plane ticket.
even if passed which it never would, what employer would give a shit? and who would they pay to monitor this crap and then what would they possibly do with the data?
Arrest every damn one of them if they enter the courthouse, and charge them with the same thing as the Bundy Bunch: armed interference with a government official doing their job. Finicum chose death by cop because he was scared sh**less to go to jail.
Finally, he introduced one of the neighborhood’s most famous (and in recent years, infamous) sons, Representative Charlie Rangel. The 85-year-old Rangel walked out on the stage, but not without a crew. Following him, Mayor de Blasio and First Lady Chirlane McCray, Governor Cuomo and his partner, Sandra Lee, former Attorney General Eric Holder, and Hillary Clinton.
Prior to the posse entrance, I’d just finished a conversation about what I saw as the myth of successfully convincing black people to think one way — and vote one way — purely based off the endorsement of prominent black people. That myth of “the black vote” being a monolith that thinks the same way and wants the same thing. And how getting the endorsement of a collection of black preachers, or even the Congressional Black Caucus, doesn’t mean as much as it did in election cycles past.
There was one moment in Rangel’s introduction, however, when his presence — and his actions — were undeniably infectious to everyone in the room, especially the Black Harlemites: “It’s been brought to my attention that some people have been following the secretary of State around to disrupt rather than to instruct. Please be informed, you are in the village of Harlem.”
This was met with wild applause from the room, a big smile from Hillary, and a Holder whisper to Cuomo, followed by laughs from both men. It was one of the more street-cred-pumping moments this campaign has seen. You fuck with Hill, you fuck with Harlem. And it capped off a perfect warm-up act for Hillary — New York State, New York City, and Harlem supporting not only Hillary being the next president, but her as someone who could do a lot of good for black people.
Soon after, he finished up and passed it off to Hillary.
It gets better from here…y’all really need to read this!
NPR had an article today about the Scottish golf course he built there including his eminent domaine like move that secured the land and his empty promises. Listen to it if you get a chance.
The first of several convoys carrying badly-needed aid to besieged areas of Syria has arrived at its destination.
Trucks have entered the rebel-held town of Muadhamiya, near the Syrian capital Damascus, the Red Crescent said.
Aid is heading as well to Madaya and Zabadani, also near the capital, and to the pro-government northern villages of Foah and Kefraya.
The deliveries are part of an agreement that world powers hope will lead to a “cessation of hostilities” by Friday.
However, offensives by Syrian government forces and Kurdish militia fighters on rebel-held areas of the northern province of Aleppo have dimmed hopes for a truce.
Almost 500,000 people live in besieged areas in Syria, according to the UN.

CNN’s John King: ‘You can bet’ Obama will make Supreme Court fight about race
King predicts that Obama “will go around the country trying to turn out votes, trying to turn out the Obama coalition in November to help the Democrats win the White House to make sure at least a Democrat gets that pick next.”
So far, so CNN. Bland, obvious observations presented as incisive analysis. But what comes next …
“And if he does that, he will make the case — and you can bet on it — that Republicans blocked him because he’s the first African-American president and they didn’t give it to him because of his race,” King concluded.
Remember he was once married to that Dana Bash who said on Saturday, the day Scalia was known to have died that Pres Obama was Technically POTUS. Their idiocy, bias, blatant GOP Ditto Heads are noted.

This is the best explanation that I’ve seen as to why Jeb is still in the race from another blog:
Re: Bush is a Drag on Kasich’s Support (4.00 / 4)
I think you are missing an elephant sized point (or maybe not, maybe you just don’t delineate it).
Why would Bush CARE whether or not Kasich does well? For all his faults, Bush is not stupid and his political advisors are not uninformed about what it takes to win. So why has he not saved himself a lot of heartache, travail and aggravation? In a word: “P”
The FOURTH generation of Bushies. Just for shits and giggles, I did a google search on “Jeb attacks Cruz”. Not ONE hit. Plenty on Cruz being attacked by Trump, Rubio, Fiorina and the others. But not one single hit on Jeb.
I’m not saying that Jeb never said anything bad about Cruz, I am saying he’s never said anything that can come back and haunt P (4th gen Bush) in Texas.
Occam’s Razor: That explanation that best accounts for all know facts is probably the most correct explanation. Bush attacking Trump and not attacking Cruz is a forward payment for Cruz either helping or staying the hell out of the way of P.
And there it is. The REST of the story.
Its not about the Presidential nomination. Its about protecting the next generation from vituperative assholes like Cruz, and (possibly) keeping VP aspirations alive. If Trump gets the nomination, it means nothing to the Bushies except some embarrassment as long as Cruz doesn’t decide that Jeb hurt him and wants to get some of his own back from GPB.
At this point there is nothing to indicate that Bush can get the nomination. He does not lack name recognition, he did not lack $$$, he did not lack political backing and he was not particularly despised by the Tea Party (granted, they didn’t like him, but that was more because of his name, than him).
I think a deal has been made. Bush stays in and stays away from Cruz, steals Kashich’s chance, attempts to keep Rubio under control in FL and tries to hit away at Trump. Cruz stays away from GPB altogether regardless of the outcome. It wouldn’t be the first time a deal such as this was made … by the Bushies.

Ketanji Brown Jackson is a judge on the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. She was confirmed by without any Republican opposition in the Senate not once, but twice. She was confirmed to her current position in 2013 by unanimous consent – that is, without any stated opposition. She was also previously confirmed unanimously to a seat on the U.S. Sentencing Commission (where she became vice chair).
She is a young – but not too young (forty-five) – black woman. Her credentials are impeccable. She was a magna cum laude graduate of Harvard College and cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School. She clerked on the Supreme Court (for Justice Stephen Breyer) and had two other clerkships as well. As a lawyer before joining the Sentencing Commission, she had various jobs, including as a public defender.
Her family is impressive. She is married to a surgeon and has two young daughters. Her father is a retired lawyer and her mother a retired school principal. Her brother was a police officer (in the unit that was the basis for the television show The Wire) and is now a law student, and she is related by marriage to Congressman (and Speaker of the House) Paul Ryan.
Judge Brown Jackson’s credentials would be even stronger if she were on the court of appeals rather than the district court and if she had been a judge for longer than three years. One person whom I know who has been deeply and directly involved in prior confirmations is confident the president would not nominate someone from the district court.
I disagree because these are special circumstances. It is easy to see a political dynamic in which candidate Hillary Clinton talks eagerly and often about Judge Brown Jackson in the run-up to the 2016 election, to great effect.
I think President Obama will nominate from the Court of Appeals and will probably select either of the following two judges: Sri Srinivasan, 48 moderate - US citizen who immigrated from India was approved 97-0 for DC Circuit Court of Appeals He clerked for Republican-appointed Justice Sandra Day O’Connor.or Paul Watford, 48 moderate - grew up in Orange County CA, AA was approved 61-34 for 9th Circuit Court of Appeals (in southern California). JUdge Watford clerked for a clerk to influential 9th Circuit Judge Alex Kozinski and Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Both have been the extreme exhaustive Obama vetting process.
Does anyone know if a 1st generation immigrant has ever been confirmed for the Supreme Court? If not, that would be an amazing pick. Truly amazing.
