he claims support from white folks from different parts of the country…Sanders and his clan are truly lost…fortunately the Obama Coalition is not…he wants to prove that he can win the WH without us….we will just have to prove to him that he can’t
If BS wins MA and MN, he’ll say that Hillary can only win the Dem vote in blood-red states, showing his “national” appeal. All the white folks in NE, KS, ID? Are Dems going to win in those states in the GE?
Hope Hillary eekes out a win in either MN or MA today, or makes them really close. Because I’m ready to pivot to fighting GOP & Trump. I want to put energy into defeating the smarmy Mark Kirk here in IL. Even if I believe in 90% of what Bernie believes, he is not capable of being POTUS. Can you see him pivoting from crisis to crisis? Can you see him having the nuance to negotiate with world leaders? And I am frankly outraged that he has been a Democrat for 5 minutes, continues to demonize the party, sneers at the primary system he signed onto. His supporters hate PBO, hate the Democratic party, and might as well be from redstate in their comments about Hillary and POC in this country. I’m disgusted by them all.
Do we have serious problems in the Democratic Party? You bet we do, but Bernie has done absolutely ZERO in his 74+ years to make the party better. He does not deserve to be the standard bearer. And the GOP is going to tear him to pieces, scare the shit out of the “independents” who don’t know shit about anything.
There is only one candidate in either party who is competent to be POTUS, and that’s Hillary. Even if you hate her (and I understand that, from 2008), she is competent and serious about the role of POTUS. We cannot gamble.
Morning, 57, whatever Bernie people claim or counterclaim, Hillary Clinton will be the nominee. Instead of making delusional claims, she and her people are out there getting the job down and that’s what it takes to win.
There had been an article about 4 weeks ago that was all over my TL that looked like an actual news story, that Hillary was taking SC for granted and had no ground game. They actually had figures counting up her field offices and it appeared grim. Apparently it was an out and out lie, because her ground game in SC was not only awesome, but she was there, campaigning into the wee hours of the morning, to prove that she was not taking anything for granted. In some ways, I loathe social media and the internet. Making shit up with no filter.
When the first thing out of your mouth in MN after being trounced in SC, is to call the AA voters in SC “stupid”, I’m assuming the AA community will rise up. As they should.
Kirk just ran a disgusting ad against Tammy Duckworth, who apparently is letting all the terrorist/refugees in to steal our welfare. Or something. Scary music and all.
If IL falls for his latest “I’m a moderate who works with PBO” act, remember one thing: he was one of the signatories on that odious letter about the Iran deal.
Let the primaries play out as they need to, but I would love to be able to pivot to GOP, Trump, and the odious Mark Kirk.
We simply have to do all that is in our power to make sure that this clown, Il Douche, stays away from the WH. He, his party, his followers are all scary, or right about racist, and frankly deranged.
Nothing Trump says or does is a surprise anymore. This white, *Christian*, Republican *presidential* contender has stripped himself in the public square and both the sight and sound of him are revolting. What’s left is to see how the American public as a whole slaps him down….because despite his surge and his song and dance now, I cannot accept that he could be accepted as a national leader by the country.
We endorsed Chris Christie in the New Hampshire Presidential Primary. Despite his baggage, we thought that as a Republican governor in a Democratic-leading state he had the skills and experience the presidency needs (and hasn’t had of late). We also thought he had the best chance to take on and face down Donald Trump.
Watching Christie kiss the Donald’s ring this weekend — and make excuses for the man Christie himself had said was unfit for the presidency — demonstrated how wrong we were. Rather than standing up to the bully, Christie bent his knee. In doing so, he rejected the very principles of his campaign that attracted our support.

None of them can put this genie back in the bottle. Had Trump not run Christie would have been pretty much the same bully so they built this atmosphere and now they have to live with it.
Hello Gorgeous TOD Community.
Happy Super Tuesday.
Congrats, MightyPamela on your Au :star: win.
Congrats to all the Au :star: winners, several posts back. No way I can even begin to catch up.
Here’s 2-29-16 Leap Year’s WH Presser with Josh “The Voice” Earnest.
Okay Democrats we need to get out to vote and put the Senate back in control of the Democrats this November and let President Hillary select the nominee. We have a chance to do so and there is no excuse not to do it. I am fed up with the sorry ass Republicans disrespecting this President.
I attached a literature pouch to my front door, filled with voter registration applications. They can complete them and either mail themselves OR drop in my mil slot and I’ll hand carry to the courthouse. Have also been scrubbing our voter list to ensure every household is completely registered… Nice thing about living in a small town with only one precinct, I KNOW ALMOST EVERYBODY!
Do any of you think PO and his team have a plan to put the GOP in a corner regarding the SCOTUS nominee? I so want to believe that they will NOT get away with this. It is outright treason. Is there nothing anyone can do?!?!?!?!?!
Believe me, I want to, desperately. I know that with this SC nominee, they are REALLY cornered and know they are losing another grip they’ve had on power and control. I know how powerful that fear can be to not back down and “got to the death” so to speak. I pray Bob is correct. I do trust our President. I do not trust the GOP and put absolutely nothing past them.
Good afternoon. Just got home after voting. I have to say, that for this woman of a certain age, it was a thrill to vote for a WOMAN to be the Democratic presidential nominee! The first time I voted, I never thought this would be possible. I wish I could have voted at least ten times.
Good for you,Carolyn. I love voting and can’t wait to cast my vote in the PA primary in April. By then that vote will be proforma, but it’s still important for mounting up delegates and we have important down ticket races to win.
I think I will early vote on Saturday in IL. I need to get information from voteforjudges.org that does an aggregate of recommendations for our elected judges.
Mr. 57’s method of dealing with electing judges: he votes “no” on all of them. Ha!
The exchange was hard to hear. The tag line over the youtube video said the young woman accosted Hillary accusing her of not doing anything for African Americans. I couldn’t hear much, but watched, and Hillary was calm, polite, and kept her cool beautifully. The young woman interrupted once, and Hillary let her talk, then answered her. The part I did hear at the end, was when Hillary said “Then, probably you should run for office.” the girl evidently replied she was going to, and Hillary smiled and said “Good luck.”
Frankly, this was not the Hillary of 2008…..as I have said she is now comfortable in her own skin, and is not listening to the Mark Penns, but being her own guide, I think. What this young woman could dish out is nothing compared to what Hillary has taken in her political life.
This may seem strange for a woman to say, but getting older is good for us. We get to a place where we are not worried about what people say about us, and we feel free to be ourselves, don’t think we have to live up to others’ expectations. Hillary is there. She no longer has to be the good prop for Bill…..I love her freedom and comfort.
It was about the “superpredator” thing which is being pounded like Benghazi and emails.
What struck me was Hillary’s engagement with the young woman. She looked her in the eyes, she listened, she had an answer. She wasn’t stiff or standoffish, but completely engaged. This is a very different Hillary from 2008. Hillary said, through her actions in this exchange, that she is there for you, even if you aren’t there for her. Contrast that with BS saying AA voters in SC were stupid.
I agree with you, carolyn. She is her own person. She has survived constant vicious attacks for 30 years, and she didn’t just survive, they made her powerful. She has always been strong, but now she is powerful. You are also so right about what happens when we “reach a certain age”. We are who we are, we’ve earned it, and I am so happy to see Hillary comfortable in her own skin.
What drives me nuts are the progressive pundits who haven’t bothered to see her now, just through the lens of their preconceived notions.
Yep. I saw it as a conversation even though the young lady may have wanted to be more aggressive but Hillary sort of disarmed her with her calm friendly receptive approach.
I am glad this Hillary conversation was posted even though I could not hear the exchange I could observe the body language, the engaged listening and the confident reply. Besides wisdom from age, Hillary has had the additional experience of being Secretary of State and running a Presidential campaign in 2008. At first I was voting for her as a lesser of all evils vote, but as time passes I am more confident in my vote for her. One of my fears from past times was that she seemed to over compensate in toughness in FP due to not wanting to be considered weak cuz of being a woman. I have seen confidence in her since then and think that could change that possibility.
“So to answer a charge from Scarborough, Donald Trump is not antithetical to the modern GOP; Donald Trump is the modern Republican Party. For all the panic in the GOP establishment about Trump, there is not even the slightest daylight between what Donald Trump is and what the Republican Party has honed their base to become. Donald Trump is not the cause of the Republican Party’s recent woes, he is the result of the GOP’s decay over the past eight years.”
Donald Trump is GOP's Very Own Frankenstein: How Republicans Did it to Themselves https://t.co/GBbXFmJ40d
What about Golda Meir, Angela Merkel, Margaret Thatcher (not my favorite) but these women were all very effective on the international stage. He needs to grow up and broaden his viewpoint.
I would preferably take Thatcher from your list - among other things she started a housing crisis in a country that had ALWAYS housed its people. Together with Reagan she removed many government activities & to this day no-one in private enterprise has matched (in cost or service) what the government did.
I would add Mary Robinson of Ireland and our own Julia Gillard - attacked non stop by white male extremists (even in her own party).
In response to “tnmtngirl” girls questions about a strategy for winning on the SCOTUS issue.
I am sure the President will use every tool at his disposal to try get a nominee appointed. OFA is also working hard on this and ALL of you can HELP.
There is a National Day of Action on Thursday March 3rd. To find an event near you go to barackobama.com > get involved > find an event > enter your zip code. If there is not an event near you - please call your Senator and tell them to Do Their Job and hold hearings.
Here is a list of Senators OFA is focusing on. The last time i posted this list, someone remarked that this looked like a lot of work. I was a bit discouraged by this reaction.
You can just call one Senator each day, or you can just call their DC offices one day and a local office the next. Isn’t it works 10-15 minutes a day to achieve a Supreme Court that will support us on every issue - Climate, Women’s Health, Labor Unions, Immigration, Citizens United, etc…

it is a lot of work..but the stakes are too high NOT to do the work…
Toomey is my Senator…i spoke to his office on Monday and i followed up with an email….and i posted the letter and info on my FB page asking folks to do the same…There where be action on Thursday at Toomey’s Philadelphia’s office….jazz..suggested an action out side of the Constitution Center to call attention to Toomey’s trashing the Constitution…that sounds wonderful….i will suggest it to the organizers of Thursday’s action..
PF, are you going to Thursday’s rally? Health permitting, I’ll be there. Just got off the phone with our Borough Council Pres, he and I are crafting a “No Confidence” resolution — hopefully, our council will pass it next week; we’ll then lobby the other municipalities to do the same… THIS IS A CONSTITUTIONAL CRISIS…
Lets have a meet up of all the wonderful TOD peeps who are Northern California by attending the SCOTUS Rally in San Francisco on Thursday March 3rd at noon. It is at the SF City Hall. I will be holding the Sonoma County OFA banner. We could all go to lunch after. it would be oodles of fun and would allow us to take a NORCAL SELFIE. We can’t let Tally and her TOD peeps have all the fun.

Finally I want to give a BIG SHOUT OUT to GGAIL who made over 40 calls into Arizona inviting folks to a SCOTUS event in Phoenix. Even though she does not live in my area she was still willing to pitch in. She is my TOD hero. Gail commented that the folks she spoke to very very nice.
There are wonderful folks in every state who just need someone to reach out to them and encourage to get involved. You can be that person. send me a note if you are willing to make calls. It is only scary the first time :->

:-)
Good Morning Chipsticks and TODVille!
Such a perfect toon!
Perfect toon. But it’s still not too late.
Good Morning TOD
Didn’t I just say this?
And this:
he claims support from white folks from different parts of the country…Sanders and his clan are truly lost…fortunately the Obama Coalition is not…he wants to prove that he can win the WH without us….we will just have to prove to him that he can’t

Exactly, 57, tell it as it is!!!
When the first thing out of your mouth in MN after being trounced in SC, is to call the AA voters in SC “stupid”, I’m assuming the AA community will rise up. As they should.
I’m utterly flabbergasted that an organized, principled 1/8th part of the population can have this EFFECT.
GO !
The Secret Service is investigating this. So far I’ve gotten no response from Ambinder.
It could be a private army. Millions at hand buy you a lot of stuff.
good meta. It is really important that we clarify who exactly did this, imo.
Don’t make me LOL at work!
:-D
This ad should be a template for those vulnerable GOP Senators. It’s brutal.

I was so happy to be able to vote for Tammy and against Kirk. Yeehaw!
I’m so angry, I can’t even speak.
Meta,
We simply have to do all that is in our power to make sure that this clown, Il Douche, stays away from the WH. He, his party, his followers are all scary, or right about racist, and frankly deranged.

Whoa!

egg.sack.lee. they are just pissed their bully went belly up at the feet of another bully.
I can’t add anything to your statement because you said it all.
Exactly - they chose to lie with a dog and should not be surprised that they are getting up with with fleas.

I’m IN!
Seems our SCOTUS action needs to be sitting in at their DC and District offices…
yesssssssss…..
In addition we need to be registering folks…it easier now,..that you can register online here in PA…and get a master GOTV…plan
I attached a literature pouch to my front door, filled with voter registration applications. They can complete them and either mail themselves OR drop in my mil slot and I’ll hand carry to the courthouse. Have also been scrubbing our voter list to ensure every household is completely registered… Nice thing about living in a small town with only one precinct, I KNOW ALMOST EVERYBODY!
awesomeeeeeeeeeee
Bernie Sanders is running as 3rd party candidate …using the apparatus of the Dem Party…
I dislike Bernie more and more:
Trump will most certainly be the GOP nominee.
Nate Silver missed that one back in Dec.
silver has changed his tune since then. he’s now saying this:
how lackadaisical is this message…..smh
Truly- time to close up shop, Nate.
The people of America are embarrassed by Donald J. Trump!
Sorry, couldn’t resist this about Bernie Sanders:
Do any of you think PO and his team have a plan to put the GOP in a corner regarding the SCOTUS nominee? I so want to believe that they will NOT get away with this. It is outright treason. Is there nothing anyone can do?!?!?!?!?!
Yes, as Bob says, Trust Barack!
I’m still confident in my earlier prediction by end of june the president’s nominee will be seated on the bench.
Only question is how much self-flaggelation the GOP would like to engage in first!
Another incorrect prediction!
Does Bill Kristol get ANYTHING right? How does he maintain a job where people seek his opinion?
Good afternoon. Just got home after voting. I have to say, that for this woman of a certain age, it was a thrill to vote for a WOMAN to be the Democratic presidential nominee! The first time I voted, I never thought this would be possible. I wish I could have voted at least ten times.

You have to read the full statement from the latest rapper to endorse BS. Is anyone in charge over there?
Not to be sexist … but ….
Not to be racist … but …
No offense meant … but …
No disrespect meant … but
etc etc etc - Every such statement is what it says before the “but”
WTF, 99ts. Seriously, WTF?!?!?!
no words - although WTF is a starting point
What about Golda Meir, Angela Merkel, Margaret Thatcher (not my favorite) but these women were all very effective on the international stage. He needs to grow up and broaden his viewpoint.
I would preferably take Thatcher from your list - among other things she started a housing crisis in a country that had ALWAYS housed its people. Together with Reagan she removed many government activities & to this day no-one in private enterprise has matched (in cost or service) what the government did.
I would add Mary Robinson of Ireland and our own Julia Gillard - attacked non stop by white male extremists (even in her own party).
Hi All
In response to “tnmtngirl” girls questions about a strategy for winning on the SCOTUS issue.
Isn’t it works 10-15 minutes a day to achieve a Supreme Court that will support us on every issue - Climate, Women’s Health, Labor Unions, Immigration, Citizens United, etc…

hello Linda….
it is a lot of work..but the stakes are too high NOT to do the work…
Toomey is my Senator…i spoke to his office on Monday and i followed up with an email….and i posted the letter and info on my FB page asking folks to do the same…There where be action on Thursday at Toomey’s Philadelphia’s office….jazz..suggested an action out side of the Constitution Center to call attention to Toomey’s trashing the Constitution…that sounds wonderful….i will suggest it to the organizers of Thursday’s action..
thank you for all you do Linda
PF, are you going to Thursday’s rally? Health permitting, I’ll be there. Just got off the phone with our Borough Council Pres, he and I are crafting a “No Confidence” resolution — hopefully, our council will pass it next week; we’ll then lobby the other municipalities to do the same… THIS IS A CONSTITUTIONAL CRISIS…
i plan to…
I’ll dm my cell# at facebook. Not sure if I’ll make it; friend’s Mom passed away, I’m trying to get to RI for a funeral on Friday morning… “life 101…”
ok
sorry jazz…i did not get your number…
A million thanks, WIW!
TOD Nor Cal Meet Up
Lets have a meet up of all the wonderful TOD peeps who are Northern California by attending the SCOTUS Rally in San Francisco on Thursday March 3rd at noon. It is at the SF City Hall. I will be holding the Sonoma County OFA banner. We could all go to lunch after. it would be oodles of fun and would allow us to take a NORCAL SELFIE. We can’t let Tally and her TOD peeps have all the fun.

Send me an email if you can come [email protected]
Finally I want to give a BIG SHOUT OUT to GGAIL who made over 40 calls into Arizona inviting folks to a SCOTUS event in Phoenix. Even though she does not live in my area she was still willing to pitch in. She is my TOD hero. Gail commented that the folks she spoke to very very nice.
There are wonderful folks in every state who just need someone to reach out to them and encourage to get involved. You can be that person. send me a note if you are willing to make calls. It is only scary the first time :->
