If BS wins MA and MN, he’ll say that Hillary can only win the Dem vote in blood-red states, showing his “national” appeal. All the white folks in NE, KS, ID? Are Dems going to win in those states in the GE?

Hope Hillary eekes out a win in either MN or MA today, or makes them really close. Because I’m ready to pivot to fighting GOP & Trump. I want to put energy into defeating the smarmy Mark Kirk here in IL. Even if I believe in 90% of what Bernie believes, he is not capable of being POTUS. Can you see him pivoting from crisis to crisis? Can you see him having the nuance to negotiate with world leaders? And I am frankly outraged that he has been a Democrat for 5 minutes, continues to demonize the party, sneers at the primary system he signed onto. His supporters hate PBO, hate the Democratic party, and might as well be from redstate in their comments about Hillary and POC in this country. I’m disgusted by them all.

Do we have serious problems in the Democratic Party? You bet we do, but Bernie has done absolutely ZERO in his 74+ years to make the party better. He does not deserve to be the standard bearer. And the GOP is going to tear him to pieces, scare the shit out of the “independents” who don’t know shit about anything.

There is only one candidate in either party who is competent to be POTUS, and that’s Hillary. Even if you hate her (and I understand that, from 2008), she is competent and serious about the role of POTUS. We cannot gamble.

Morning, 57, whatever Bernie people claim or counterclaim, Hillary Clinton will be the nominee. Instead of making delusional claims, she and her people are out there getting the job down and that’s what it takes to win.

There had been an article about 4 weeks ago that was all over my TL that looked like an actual news story, that Hillary was taking SC for granted and had no ground game. They actually had figures counting up her field offices and it appeared grim. Apparently it was an out and out lie, because her ground game in SC was not only awesome, but she was there, campaigning into the wee hours of the morning, to prove that she was not taking anything for granted. In some ways, I loathe social media and the internet. Making shit up with no filter.

If IL falls for his latest “I’m a moderate who works with PBO” act, remember one thing: he was one of the signatories on that odious letter about the Iran deal.

Nothing Trump says or does is a surprise anymore. This white, *Christian*, Republican *presidential* contender has stripped himself in the public square and both the sight and sound of him are revolting. What’s left is to see how the American public as a whole slaps him down….because despite his surge and his song and dance now, I cannot accept that he could be accepted as a national leader by the country.

    Whoa!

We endorsed Chris Christie in the New Hampshire Presidential Primary. Despite his baggage, we thought that as a Republican governor in a Democratic-leading state he had the skills and experience the presidency needs (and hasn’t had of late). We also thought he had the best chance to take on and face down Donald Trump.

Watching Christie kiss the Donald’s ring this weekend — and make excuses for the man Christie himself had said was unfit for the presidency — demonstrated how wrong we were. Rather than standing up to the bully, Christie bent his knee. In doing so, he rejected the very principles of his campaign that attracted our support.

Couldn’t really hear this very well. What was the point here?

      • 93 carolyn
        March 1, 2025 at 4:10 pm

The exchange was hard to hear. The tag line over the youtube video said the young woman accosted Hillary accusing her of not doing anything for African Americans. I couldn’t hear much, but watched, and Hillary was calm, polite, and kept her cool beautifully. The young woman interrupted once, and Hillary let her talk, then answered her. The part I did hear at the end, was when Hillary said “Then, probably you should run for office.” the girl evidently replied she was going to, and Hillary smiled and said “Good luck.”

Frankly, this was not the Hillary of 2008…..as I have said she is now comfortable in her own skin, and is not listening to the Mark Penns, but being her own guide, I think. What this young woman could dish out is nothing compared to what Hillary has taken in her political life.

This may seem strange for a woman to say, but getting older is good for us. We get to a place where we are not worried about what people say about us, and we feel free to be ourselves, don’t think we have to live up to others’ expectations. Hillary is there. She no longer has to be the good prop for Bill…..I love her freedom and comfort.

        • 94 57andfemale
          March 1, 2025 at 5:41 pm

It was about the “superpredator” thing which is being pounded like Benghazi and emails.

What struck me was Hillary’s engagement with the young woman. She looked her in the eyes, she listened, she had an answer. She wasn’t stiff or standoffish, but completely engaged. This is a very different Hillary from 2008. Hillary said, through her actions in this exchange, that she is there for you, even if you aren’t there for her. Contrast that with BS saying AA voters in SC were stupid.

I agree with you, carolyn. She is her own person. She has survived constant vicious attacks for 30 years, and she didn’t just survive, they made her powerful. She has always been strong, but now she is powerful. You are also so right about what happens when we “reach a certain age”. We are who we are, we’ve earned it, and I am so happy to see Hillary comfortable in her own skin.

What drives me nuts are the progressive pundits who haven’t bothered to see her now, just through the lens of their preconceived notions.

        • 95 idon
          March 1, 2025 at 5:42 pm

Yep. I saw it as a conversation even though the young lady may have wanted to be more aggressive but Hillary sort of disarmed her with her calm friendly receptive approach.

I am glad this Hillary conversation was posted even though I could not hear the exchange I could observe the body language, the engaged listening and the confident reply. Besides wisdom from age, Hillary has had the additional experience of being Secretary of State and running a Presidential campaign in 2008. At first I was voting for her as a lesser of all evils vote, but as time passes I am more confident in my vote for her. One of my fears from past times was that she seemed to over compensate in toughness in FP due to not wanting to be considered weak cuz of being a woman. I have seen confidence in her since then and think that could change that possibility.

I would preferably take Thatcher from your list - among other things she started a housing crisis in a country that had ALWAYS housed its people. Together with Reagan she removed many government activities & to this day no-one in private enterprise has matched (in cost or service) what the government did.

I would add Mary Robinson of Ireland and our own Julia Gillard - attacked non stop by white male extremists (even in her own party).

    Hi All

In response to “tnmtngirl” girls questions about a strategy for winning on the SCOTUS issue.

I am sure the President will use every tool at his disposal to try get a nominee appointed. OFA is also working hard on this and ALL of you can HELP.

There is a National Day of Action on Thursday March 3rd. To find an event near you go to barackobama.com > get involved > find an event > enter your zip code. If there is not an event near you - please call your Senator and tell them to Do Their Job and hold hearings.

Here is a list of Senators OFA is focusing on. The last time i posted this list, someone remarked that this looked like a lot of work. I was a bit discouraged by this reaction.

You can just call one Senator each day, or you can just call their DC offices one day and a local office the next. Isn’t it works 10-15 minutes a day to achieve a Supreme Court that will support us on every issue - Climate, Women’s Health, Labor Unions, Immigration, Citizens United, etc…

      hello Linda….

it is a lot of work..but the stakes are too high NOT to do the work…

Toomey is my Senator…i spoke to his office on Monday and i followed up with an email….and i posted the letter and info on my FB page asking folks to do the same…There where be action on Thursday at Toomey’s Philadelphia’s office….jazz..suggested an action out side of the Constitution Center to call attention to Toomey’s trashing the Constitution…that sounds wonderful….i will suggest it to the organizers of Thursday’s action..

thank you for all you do Linda

    TOD Nor Cal Meet Up

Lets have a meet up of all the wonderful TOD peeps who are Northern California by attending the SCOTUS Rally in San Francisco on Thursday March 3rd at noon. It is at the SF City Hall. I will be holding the Sonoma County OFA banner. We could all go to lunch after. it would be oodles of fun and would allow us to take a NORCAL SELFIE. We can’t let Tally and her TOD peeps have all the fun.

Finally I want to give a BIG SHOUT OUT to GGAIL who made over 40 calls into Arizona inviting folks to a SCOTUS event in Phoenix. Even though she does not live in my area she was still willing to pitch in. She is my TOD hero. Gail commented that the folks she spoke to very very nice.

There are wonderful folks in every state who just need someone to reach out to them and encourage to get involved. You can be that person. send me a note if you are willing to make calls. It is only scary the first time :->
