    Good Morning, Chipsticks.

The media is obsessed with the Sanders voter and the Trump voter. Yet it is the Hillary voter who may have the last laugh.

    A good read via bj.

Yup, yup. To acknowledge the “Hillary voter” is to admit that people are actually pleased with the current administration’s policies and direction, and they simply want to see more of it with the next administration. But the media HATES that truth…

So true. If and I hope when the voters see a match between Hillary and any of the bullies running for the GOP nomination, I hope we can follow a principle I learned about bullying. People are targeted because they appear isolated. When our lovely lefty disappointeds or dixiecrat brothers moved away from the President because of their own issues with a mutual person, they left the perception that the President was alone and vulnerable. Fortunately, there have been millions of people wanting to scream, he is not alone. I support him. I uphold his actions. They are in my name. You come for him you come for me. Anyway if Hillary is to face a bully, which she will, we will have to understand that by schooling around her we are the weapon that will have the most effect. Its difficult for people who are free thinkers to do that sometimes. We just have to understand that in its current form the GOP is a classic bully and has no compunction about imposing itself to whatever degree it wants to on others. We will have to deal with this accordingly and link arms across America. Obama supporters have been practicing this and are like family by now. That will be a great thing when this malignantly insecure party has to be confronted at the voting booth.

Thanks, SW. You would have to be truly delusional to think a hot-tempered 74year old lifelong Socialist who has not even been thoroughly vetted would have better a chance in the general against hugely funded, nasty Republicans. I and others like me try to live in the real world. If anything, this primary season has been a revelation to me about fellow Democrats (BS supporters) who I thought had more common sense.

I think more [of the sensible] people are starting to get past the “bell ringers” that first attracted them and are looking (and listening) to what else is there.

    Good Sunday, TOD Family

I’m looking forward to our historic road trip to Cuba with POTUS and family! (If we’re lucky and the MSM *does their job*, maybe we’ll get a reprieve from the 24/7 coverage of unohoo.)

AMK, I read it and thought it was great. Hillary supporters are neither strident nor angry. They’re working quietly to organize and get out the vote. I live in a very small county in Pennsylvania and I’m very impressed with the organization and the amount of professional attention the Hillary campaign is giving us. It’s very much like the 2008 Obama campaign. Put your head down and get the work done, rather than screaming about how great you are.

What a wonderful segue to the President’s visit. It’s endearing, and probably reflects the world of Cuba. Keep it simple or you’ll be bogged down in the airport. I like it. Funniest because this visit will be anything but simple. Security will be ample I am sure and that comes with lots of arrangements. I still cannot wait and hope though it will be difficult the people of Cuba can experience the personal warmth of our wonderful representatives. I love our President. I hope they do too.

Heard on MSNBC today that the President and the Pope are “more popular” in Cuba than the Cuban government leaders, so I’m hoping not only that the President is well received, but that the Cuban people enjoy having the Obama family in their country for a while. And then, please, send them back to us!

    great bj post by CarolDuhart

Most Trump supporters don’t know about these people. Even if they knew the names, explaining why they should be angry is more political education than anyone wants to expend. And even if they are angry, the billionaires are untouchable behind walls of steel and glass.

But they can be angry at Maria who works under the table cleaning someone’s house. She’s strange, foreign, and ā€œtaking their jobā€ even if it’s a job they would die rather than take, at a rate they would (and can) refuse. Or Daniel Washington who unlike his factory working dad, drives a Lexus because he can now sell insurance in an integrated market. Of Jun Lee, whose mastery of code makes him able to work at a job outside the restaurant business.

Trump voters want all the goodies, and the clock to turn back to a time where they can tell the aforementioned to go away and order them around like servants. But the world isn’t cooperating with that desire. China is generating billionaires. Immigrants (many of them not even Abrahamic, let alone Christian) are coming here and generating new tech and jobs that are for ā€œpointy-headed intellectialsā€ which they have been taught to despise becoming. Even the local minorities are getting restless and better jobs. Trump promises to turn the world backwards, like Superman did in the first movie, to a time when these things didn’t exist.

This is what most of it is all about; add in the southern strategy, the election and re-election of Barack Obama and the success of his administration that belies everything that they have told themselves about Black people, and they have lost their feeble privileged minds.

Our wonderful First Family is on its way to Cuba – and a grotesque “contender” to succeed the head of that Family is out running around making jokes about who’s a Mormon, urging his “supporters” to punch out anyone who disagrees with him, and yammering (word choice 100% intentional) about walling us off from one of our nearest geographical neighbors… The disconnect is absolutely beyond my comprehension.

It’s Down the Rabbit Hole, for sure!

I much prefer other people’s trips - looking forward to Cuba via TOD.

Meanwhile, we are still electing RW governments (this time city govt) and the feds are still talking about reducing company tax - cause then those companies will hire more people and pay them more - hahahaha - why do they not look and see that this NEVER happens. Reduce the tax - the boss takes more and gives the rest to the shareholders. They don’t even reinvest any more.

Between the “not so lame” lame duck session President Obama is having and the implosion going on in their party, individuals within the GOP will be doing a lot of finger-pointing and scapegoating. After all the, “We built that!” bragging they did four years ago, no one wants to be a part of the “we” or claim the resulting product.

So… The right establishment prefers Cruz over trump??
Trump wants to get rid of EPA as in abolish..
Cruz not only wants to do that but he wishes to get rid of IRS, EPA, DOE, DEPT of Education, and commerce.
And kasich is hell bent on getting rid of all regulations… He recently said he wil put a moratorium on all federal regulations for a year…
Are you sure Americans know what this means if these clowns get rid of this stuff?

I guess what I’m asking is? They spite others but in return spite themselves?
        Is that what’s going on?
Or do they just not know how these areas of government work or effect them?
I don’t think they know what the scoop is with how government helps them…
        Anyways… Good morning…

Jovie the so-called libertarians are all for getting rid of government UNTIL it affects them. A libertarian state worker friend is pissed Scott Walker eliminated almost ALL federal holidays for state workers but still wants to do all with fed regulations.

I am seeing that as PBO’s tenure comes to an end and as GOP have shown that all the excuses media made for them, they are still useless, more and more these kinds of article.

History will judge PBO as one of the greatest presidents the US have seen.

      • 51 meta

PBO surrounded himself with brilliant people who care deeply about our country. No scandals, no breakdowns, no scorched earth. They are all consummate professionals who get the job done.

There is a guy on CBS Sunday Morning just now denouncing those who call for torture. He talked about candidates sanctioning torture. He said he would like to ask one of those candidates, with this voluntary military, if it was their child, would they be chanting for those kind of acts. He said something to the fact that all of us should be against this.

I suspect he was talking to Trump and Cruz. The GOP is corrupt. The media is their enabler. The rest of us have to fight them with everything we’ve got.

TV pundits and other loudmouths continue to compare 2016 to 2008 with various measuring sticks. One they have completely ignored, is the absolute disgust with the GWB administration that at least 60% of the public felt. Not just Democrats were overwhelmingly upset and disgusted, but many Republicans were too. We were worn out by the war, by GWB’s stupidity and embarrassment of the country when abroad, his pitiful use of the English language, his laughing at tragedy, his nonchalance at and acceptance of torture, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld….so much that we have forgotten. People, not just us, are now beginning to get through their thick heads how different this administration is, and what is building is nostalgia, already, for PBO and his leadership.

This feeling will get stronger, the closer we get to the election. The closer HRC stands to PBO, the stronger will be her electoral results. She HAS learned from him…..I’ve even noticed that Bill is not flapping his gums indiscriminately. This is good.

So, Happy Spring everyone, a day for new beginnings.

Obama’s March 20-22 visit has raised Cubans’ hopes that a new era in relations with the United States will bring an end to the U.S. trade embargo and improve life for everyone on the island. For Afro-Cubans in particular, the presidential trip carries a special charge, a hope that an African-American leader’s near-universal popularity among Cubans of all races will help end lingering prejudice and inequality.
