I thought he looked very tango sexy at the beginning and classy the rest of it. so impossible to do with a new partner and not knowing the specific structure of the dance. I can’t think of one president in the world who could’ve looked better.

Hey Everyone, the lady who danced with the President is Mora Godoy (On Twitter: @moragodoytango)

Translation of this tweet that she retweeted: “Obama and Mora Godoy, the world is now talking about of Argentine tango”

    I sent her a note. (I she doesn’t mind translating it) :-)

By the way, I was channel surfing and stopped on Lawrence O[‘Donnell. I started I got giddy all over again when he said: “In Argentina tonight, this happened…” and he showed THE VIDEO! :-D

At the end he said: Okay, it’s official. Best tango by a President in history!” :-D :-D :-D

First Family leaves Buenos Aires for Bariloche tomorrow for sight seeing, then head back to Buenos Aires before taking off back to D.C.

    • 84 Dudette
      March 23, 2025 at 11:25 pm

      Not JUST sight-seeing.

They’ll first be visiting Remembrance Park, which is a huge memorial to the thousands killed by the brutal dictator that the US propped up in the 70’s (one of the reason large numbers of people in Latin America and particularly Argentina still hate the US). I would imagine that the President will be making some remarks on his visit there. Some people are expecting an apology for our country’s role in that episode in history. It’s unclear that he’ll go that far. Of course, nothing he would say would satisfy everyone anyway. Plus also anything approaching apology will bring the expected brain hemorrhaging from RWers here at home, but he’ll be expected to say something.

        March 23, 2025 at 11:31 pm

One thing we can count on … the President will find the right words.

And thanks for that information on Remembrance Park! I’ve been missing some of this trip, so glad to catch up!

        GM Dudette.

Thanks for the info, am looking forward to seeing as much of Bariloche as possible (via First Family trip today).

I think what bothers me the most is that MSM should mention what the US did (in1970s Argentina) when RWNJs make “apology tour” claims against PBO to allow their audience to make an informed evaluation of RWNJ claims.

By staying silent, MSM ends up endorsing (promoting) GOP talking points.

Disclaimer: No TV, so don’t know what TV talking heads are saying.

    • 92 jacquelineoboomer
      March 23, 2025 at 11:28 pm

Ignore it. He’s not the President of every other country, and he was on a diplomatic mission for ours, not simply there “to tango.” He kept to his schedule, while also addressing the situation in Brussels in both locations. Eff the people who grab for the first negative thing they can say about him.

The Tango is a sexy dance. It is like the national dance of Argentina from what I read. Even Pope Francis, native Argentinian, likes to dance the Tango. Rudolph Valentino, silent film star, came to fame because of his ability to dance the Tango and wow his female fans.

      • 106 nathkatun7

Wow! Pope Francis dances the Tango! I think I will convert to Catholicism! I can’t dance, but I really love to see the pros dancing the Tango. I also loved the movie “Assasination Tango,” starring Robert Duvall and Luciana Pedraza.

I took care of one of their dogs when I worked in Denali back in the summer of 2002. I was supposed to take her for walks in the evening to give her exercise, but she actually walked me, a concept I think Chips is very familiar with. Anyway it was a very fun volunteer job, and when I went back there 2 years later she totally recognized me as I walked up. Brought tears to my eyes then, and now. :-)

    Heeeeey VC!
Just finally catching up here. HAPPY BIRTHDAY to ya!
So much fun in TOD village I had to pinch myself to make sure that it was not 2008.

Well, about this Tango dancing………(Ms. Dudette, you know me well)
What a joy to watch our PBO and FLTOUS “strut their stuff” on the dance floor in one of the most intricate dance steps that I have ever tired.
    But oh so sexy!

    FLTOUS was having fun!
She is a great dancer and that certainly was a challenge for a person who loves to dance. I can see her master that with a few more lessons. She will be able to conquer that very quickly. Simply because she enjoys dancing.
When you have a good dance partner they know how to make you look good.

Our PBO, Bless his heart. Brave, daring and gracious soul.
His form was great. He looked the part. He did not trip on his feet nor the dancer(I do mean the whole person).
    (not like I did)…….
Hey, if you can stand up on the stage of the Apollo Theatre in Harlem and sing Al Green, “Let’s Stay Together,”
As far as the Tango goes…..BRING IT!

I am very busy but I come here in TOD village to stay sane.
Thank you everyone for this wonderful positive space to travel with OUR First Family.
I was stuck on the first Inauguration Dance and still cry.
I just realized that Denzel Washington introduced them.
I was so teary eyed I never saw him until the last 200 times I have watched.
Now, you know that I was in some kind of zone to miss Denzel!

So this Tango dance was the jolt I needed to bring me back.
    Ya’ll, it’s difficult . I am going to miss them….it’s difficult!

so much happens on this blog after i go to bed….

when i checked back this morning….what do i find but an extraordinary explosion of AWEsomeness presented to us by indeed the Legendary Nerdy Wonka…sometimes i just don’t have the words to express my gratitude to you and Ms Chips…

and there are the regulars who give important commentary…info…and the like….We Are The Change We Seek..

    i am just in AWE…

and what is really a pity is that many Americans do not know the Awesomemness of our President..but i am exceedingly grateful that we here in TOD know of his greatness and will not let the world forget it….

    YES WE CAN!!…
