I care for my 80 year old Mother, she is frail and totally dependent, but she is full of light and love. She has lost her ability to communicate verbally, so I do alot of talking, I use this site often to share with her reflections of our outstanding President and FLOTUS and their lovely family. Like most Mothers, Family is what life is all about to her. She loves our First Family as much as I do. Everyday, I read to her from my, A Year with Obama desk calendar, a much appreciated gift from my thoughful, Obamabot sister. So in honor of great Mothers, and in particular Stanley Ann, let me share the thoughtful words of our President speaking of his Mother.
“That mother of mine, she gave me love; she pushed me, she cared about my education: she took no lip; she taught me right from wrong. Because of her, I had a chance to make the most of my abilities. I had the chance to make the most of my opportunities. I had the chance to make the most of my life.”
So Majii, I echo your words, “You did good, Stanley. Thank you.” I hope that Stanley Ann recognized in her lifetime, what a remarkable son she helped to form, and knew on a deeper level that he would come to do great things
I use music alot as an interactive tool with my Mother….we have our favorites…Mary Wells, Nat King Cole, Sarah McLachlan, Al Jarreau…and Stevie Wonder-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NCGNg5qeP9M…..today, this song which we love to listen to has consummed my thoughts and emotions. I just felt the need to share….
