Dr. Jill has always been fashionable. I actually think, in her own way, she is just as stylish as FLOTUS. Jill is small and she knows what looks good on her. Plus, I think Joey is adorable. They make the cutest couple!
Jill is adorable and has pitch perfect fashion sense — very pretty, very classic, and just right for her petite frame. Like FLOTUS, she is made even more beautiful and radiant because of what’s inside.
As her hubby would say, Dr Jill Biden is “Drop Dead Gorgeous!” I think this country was really lucky to elect these two humane and intelligent men, as President and Vice President, with wives who are equally intelligent and caring, besides being so gorgeous.
I bet Rory McIllroy’s girlfriend Caroline Wozniacki wishes she had skipped Indian Wells this week, especially with the outbreak of a stomach virus in Palm Springs.
LL, Did you see Eric Holder’s wife? Dr Sharon Malone. Chica has a picture of them both in the “state dinner” thread. She is stunning with a short hair cut and arms just about as toned as FLOTUS. They are both workin’ that “salt and pepper” hair. A great looking couple.
Prime Minister Cameron’s toast was superb. I really like this guy. He is definitely in President Obama’s corner.
His words were so sincere and heartfelt.
What an amazing and beautiful evening!! Sigh what a dream come true, to be able to go to a White House State Dinner. I don’t care who you are, or how much money you make. That is a TREAT to be treasured.

Obama’s Top Campaign Bundlers Among State Dinner Guests
More than three dozen of President Obama’s top re-election campaign financiers are guests at tonight’s White House state dinner in honor of British Prime Minister David Cameron.
They include Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, media mogul Fred Eychaner, Pfizer executive Sally Susman, Stoneyfield Farms president and CEO Gary Hirschberg, and Microsoft executives Suzi Levine and John Frank. Several have each raised more than half a million dollars for 2012, according to estimates provided by Obama’s campaign.
Devin Dwyer is a dick, Kasai, I’ve noticed him the past few months stretching to almost breaking point day after day to find a negative angle on every single PBO related story. He even had a piece recently commenting on PBO’s ‘bad manners’, ie when he spoke while eating (the shame!) at one of those recent dinners with supporters. He’s a pathetic piece of crap.
Exactly Lisa, Devin the Dick would have preferred if it was a silent dinner
This was the headline on his piece: ‘Manners Aside, Obama Says He’s Got Game.’
“….The president, seen talking with his mouth full while apparently chowing down on a salad, boasts to a donor at the last “Dinner with Barack” that he could have been NBA material. “I’d be starting point guard for the Chicago Bulls,” Obama says, when asked who he would work for if he could pick a boss other than himself. “I think that ship has sailed, so that’s probably not going to happen,” he adds. “But I wouldn’t mind being on [ESPN’s] Sports Center. You know, do the top 10 plays?”
Boasts? No, he didn’t. And he never said he “could have been NBA material”! He was asked who he would like to work for if he could pick a boss …. jokingly, he said he’d work for the Bulls as point guard.
I’ve come upon a bunch of Dwyer stuff recently and I can only conclude …. he reckons this President is a bit ‘uppity’.
well, Chips, you know that tried and true reporter creed: “if all else fails, pull crap outta your ass.” looks like this guy is really living up to that little bit.
People like that D. Dwyer is just plain pitiful. Well one thing about it , the President prove he is like us normal folks, I eat while I’m speaking too at times.Tell Mr. D. Dwyer, I still plan to vote for President Obama.
What’s wrong with having campaign contributors at the din? I assumed that’s who was there. Supporters! All I know is I’m buying Stoneyfield Farms organic milk wherever I see it—-buy it often now but will make sure. I love milk. I grew up in Iowa.
They’re dumb. If they think this is going to make people like me mad, they are sorely mistaken. When I read all these names I’m chuffed that we have big money donors on our side too.
PM Cameron has delivered the clearest denunciation of GWBush & his fellow #NEOCONSTERS today, in a typical British indirect but oh-so-searing way, from his comments at the State Department about “smart power” to “…. but all I can say is that it is a pleasure to work with someone with moral strength, with clear reason, and with fundamental decency.”
Everyone knows; at least everyone in the global community who has payed attention these past 12 years.
So, it seemed only fitting that this very non-British, hot blooded Italian (moi) be even more direct, and Georgie boy obliged with yet another of his totally indecent, unreasoned, immoral and ludicrous statements to make my task easy:
USA - #WarCriminal #GWBush called KeystoneXL pipeline a 'no brainer' http://t.co/kz7yK2rv - Projecting much, George. #LandslideOBAMA2012
— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) March 14, 2025
The contrast in 2008 was obvious. The contrast in 2012 is so obvious that if anyone says they don’t see a chiasmic difference between the Party of Koch & Norquist and whatever lunatic represents it and the Democrats led by President Obama they need a brain transplant, at a minimum.
Shrub can’t leave the country because he’d be arrested as a war criminal. He really should realize that he’s at liberty due to the good graces of the Obama Administration.
Precisely, LL. He’s afraid to go to Canada - TO CANADA!!!
And, rightly, he should be.
I think he, Cheney, Bolton, Rove, and many others truly fear what happens when President Obama is sworn in to his 2nd term and could then, readily, bring all these criminals before a US Tribunal. I don’t want them shipped to The Hague. I want the entire world to see us indict and prosecute them, here. The only person standing between all of them and that reality is, in_deed, President Obama.
Truly believe he’s not smart enough to realize how vapid he actually is - narcissism goes hand in hand with vacuousness and that dude is as empty a suit as any that’s walked the planet.
BTW, in case you want to know how I really feel about GWB, feel free to ask :)
Bobfr, I read your statements all the time and makes long distant driving a lot easier to handle. You see I flip out the laptop and spend time relaxing in the TOD Family Community.Your above statement about a brain transplant well all can say you got to have a brain first to transplant. The reason I say that anybody who follows Koch & Norquist the leaders of the GREED OVER PEOPLE PARTY they don’t have brains they are Zombies with empty sculls. #PRESSON
Bri Wi’s Rock Center just did a piece on Engelbrecht Grills in small town Paxton, Illinois which got the order from the WH for Obama’s gift to Cameron. The co. consists of the owner and a staff of one. Owner couldn’t believe when he saw he had a call from the U.S. government—-was nervous about the nature of the call at first. Couldn’t believe they found him—-said to be thru the google—-but he was very pleased to get the order and he expressed a great pride in his product, all hand made here in Illinois, showed the American and British flags he emblazoned on this very special order. I liked it.
Jake “the snake” Tapper wrote this article. He just couldn’t resist throwing some shade at the end of the article, mentioning past gifts to PM Gordon Brown and the Queen. Jake the Snake really is pathetic.
On a happier note, I am glad that the company took the time and effort to ensure that all parts of the grill were “Made in America” How cool is that?
They had better git to gittin’ on making more of them. They will be filling orders all summer long!!
Love it, Chips. I hope this company becomes one of best selling companies in America, making Made In America grills for hundreds of years to come. Bless them for goodness sake.HZ
I think the gift was a terrific thought out process. After all, the grilling that was done for the military men and women hosted by Prime Minister and Mrs. Cameron when POB and FLOTUS visited last year was such a touching moment for all of them. I can see POB and FLOTUS thinking about that moment and doing just what they did. in this gift giving to the Camerons. If you all remember, the grill was not very large that they were using at the time. It also seems that Prime Minister Carmeron loves to grill.
Jake and others do not think clearly on issues pertaining to POB and FLOTUS. I love how they really make sure that their gifts have a lasting meaning on the receivers, and the gifts given also tells me a lot about POB in how he really thinks things through. I love the idea of POB and FLOTUS’ gifts to this lovely couple. POB and First Lady Michelle Obama are not your typical people who have occupied the WH. They do everything with so much originality and personal touches.
I remember giving a gift to a person who loves a very high end magazine. It was an E -Reader that I gave to him, but I took old copies of his favorite high end magazine and cut out different words and made short sentences that said a lot about our relationship and his personality when he was with me. I then used newspaper (the business page, which he loves to read) and wrapped the gift in the newspaper. Took a lovely gentleman’s tie and used it as the ribbon for the gift. All of the items used for the gift were very personal, and had something that meant something to me as well as to him. It was fun to see him open the gift and look and read everything that led to the final gift.
An E-Reader. He wanted one, and he needed one, and it was a gift-time for me to do something special for him.
That is how I see our POTUS and FLOTUS as gift givers. Love it. Just being themselves to special people. So Jake and the others who like to make things look like what they are not, really do need to take some lessons from this lovely First Couple and STHU. HZ
Hi HZ, how are you feeling tonight? I like your gift idea to your gentleman friend especially the idea of wrapping it in the business pages and using mens ties as ribbon, I am gonna have to steal that idea, maybe for my brother in June for his birthday. Take care and praying that you get through all your test and get well soon.
Hi 0388jojothecat fine. Today’s test was a little better, of course the medication used helped. Relaxed tonight and ready for tomorrow’s batch. I am going to stick with it like glue until all is done.
Oh, please do. It is so much fun to do these for those who are so special in our lives. Try it and enjoy.
I hope that your brother will enjoy the creativiity from your gift in June. It is fun to do something of this nature.
Thanks for your thoughts and prayers. I will cherish your kindness as I go through the tests. Thanks again o388jojothecat.HZ
It happened more than a quarter century ago, at the start of a Romney family summer vacation. But the tale of Seamus, the Irish setter who got sick while riding 12 hours on the roof of Mitt Romney’s faux-wood-paneled station wagon, is ballooning into a narrative of epic proportions.
It has come to characterize the candidate — and not in the favorable way Tagg Romney hoped for when he first talked in 2007 about his family’s annual road trips.
Late-night host David Letterman has been giving the dog near-nightly shout-outs. There are parody Web videos, “Dogs Aren’t Luggage” T-shirts and Facebook groups. (“Dogs Against Romney,” which protested outside last month’s Westminster dog show, has more than 38,000 Facebook fans.) The New Yorker featured a cartoon, with Rick Santorum riding in Romney’s rooftop dog carrier, on its cover last week. In the five years since the story was revealed, New York Times columnist Gail Collins has mentioned Seamus in at least 50 columns.
Someone hear (and my apologies for not remembering who said it) said something that I’ve remembered because it was so profound: Everyone raves about Ann Romney, but she was sitting inside that car for 12 hours while Seamus suffered on the roof, and she did nothing. She should be held equally responsible, since her kids were in that car, seeing that terrible example.
I am not impressed with any woman who is married to a mega millionaire, has MS, but wants to squash affordable healthcare for the middle class and working poor. I can see their politician husbands doing this for their Insurance lobbyist but woman usually are the conscience of their men and children to think about others who are less fortunate…not these people. If they have no empathy for the family dog, they sure as hell don’t have it for people they don’t know.
I’m just now getting a chance to sit down and go through the threads of tonight’s festivities.
Mistress Chipsticks McGee, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for all this wonderful coverage. You soooo rock! I was determined to enjoy every day of this presidency, and you and the TOD Family are the biggest part of me achieving that goal. So glad I found this piace.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart! ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
GGail and AnitaW, I am doing the same. I have been reading and watching C-SPAN, and crying and rejoicing as well. Yes, I am resting, But I had to be here. I saw the comments, and the photos that Chips had provided, and I could not leave. I am alone tonight and well medicated(doctors’ dose for the day in preparation for tomorrow) so no pain at all. Plus this one has to be taken for the test tomorrow.
I can’t move around, so this is great medicine , my Chips and TOD Family that is, for me at this time. Do not worry, the computer will be cold when my friend comes over to check on me in an hour. You all better not tell, okay. I love you all so much. I am going to be okay. Just hold my heart, and tell them to do what we have to do.
But Chips, I love you so much. You help so many of us get through the day, the hour, the minute, the second of these days. I know we all are building on each other’s strength to help us get through what is ahead for us now and as we get closer to Nov. I believe that in my heart. We will be the better for our tasks that will come. So thankkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk Youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

I just saw the ad from MoveOn.org in favor of women - for the first time, I’m loving that organization! I wish they’d also add the words of Romney, who wants to deprive women of the right to proper health care by ending Obamacare(s) and defunding Planned Parenthood. What a powerful ad!
Chips, I say bring the bundlers on. . PBO is not the first person who have invited bundlers to his affairs. I also say to devindwyer, who cares? :) BTW Chips, thanks for all of these wonderful photos today. I have a huge stack for my scrap book. I am going to devote one separate book just for this state dinner. :)
Nite Mtmariilyn and CEB. Have a restful evening. ((((((((( Be hopeful)))))))))))))))HZ

Thanks Chips for this wonderful coverage of DC’s visit. I have been sitting in front of the computer for the entire evening watching the videos, perusing the photos, and laughing at the comments. It is like the old T V show “You are There” (just a little before my time); you gifted us with a front row seat. Good night Chips and TOD ohana. Even though I lurked, I had a great time.

If you're going to run any campaign at all about LGBT issues, please don't make the same mistake a lot of them do. Demi, Bi, Ace, and Pansexuals get erased from almost every single one, and it is very disheartening to see that your sexuality is not only erased, but discredited as if it never existed. I struggled to discover my identity for two years because I thought on transexuals, gays, and lesbians were around. Run a campaign that displays those, and you will help more people than you know.
No questions, lol. I just wanted to say thank you. I know it hasn't been easy to be so forthrightly supportive of the LGBT community. It's been politically risky. But you've transformed my life and the lives of so many other Gay people. Given us a complete future in our own country. And I'll never forget that. Thanks. *huuuugs*
What do you mean when you say you will "support" the effort? What steps will you actually be taking?
Thanks so much for joining us for today’s Tumblr Q&A....

well, Chips, you know that tried and true reporter creed: “if all else fails, pull crap outta your ass.” looks like this guy is really living up to that little bit.
People like that D. Dwyer is just plain pitiful. Well one thing about it , the President prove he is like us normal folks, I eat while I’m speaking too at times.Tell Mr. D. Dwyer, I still plan to vote for President Obama.
What an a**hole!!!
What’s wrong with having campaign contributors at the din? I assumed that’s who was there. Supporters! All I know is I’m buying Stoneyfield Farms organic milk wherever I see it—-buy it often now but will make sure. I love milk. I grew up in Iowa.
Dotster3, if you like organic yogurt, Stonyfield is delicious.HZ
Thanks for the tip! I do.
I was thinking exactly the same thing!!! It’s Stonyfield products from now on for me too!!!
ABC is a cesspool.
True Meta, and that guy is the worst of the worst.
done!
Thank you Pinkbunny…on my way to re tweet :-)
My question is is their any law against inviting these people? If not then the guy need to shut his freaking mouth.
You can retweet from here. Just click on the link in the box.
Thanks pinkbunny! Tell ’em they look petty and jealous like mean girls.
They’re dumb. If they think this is going to make people like me mad, they are sorely mistaken. When I read all these names I’m chuffed that we have big money donors on our side too.
OK as far as I’m concerned, this Devin Dwyer is buzzard meat.
Chips, thanks for tonight :-). I am sleepy but I keep refreshing my iPad :-)
What a nice complement by PM Cameroon about Potus. Now I reaaaaaaaaaly likey him. Flotus next to Clooney, thats to good.
The contrast in 2008 was obvious. The contrast in 2012 is so obvious that if anyone says they don’t see a chiasmic difference between the Party of Koch & Norquist and whatever lunatic represents it and the Democrats led by President Obama they need a brain transplant, at a minimum.
#PRESSON
What ever happened to him shutting his mouth and not saying anything about the next President’s job performance?
Thank you for the RT, friend. Let him talk, all it does is help us!! :D :D
#PRESSON
Bobfr, Bobfr, Bobfr, tell us how you REALLY feel !
You have such a way with words - you make me smile :-)
It makes my day to know that I make you smile, Gail :)
#PRESSON
Thanks again, Bobfr.HZ
And, thank you HZ, for all your efforts!!!

#PRESSON
So GWB is admitting he has NO BRAINS? Finally.
Truly believe he’s not smart enough to realize how vapid he actually is - narcissism goes hand in hand with vacuousness and that dude is as empty a suit as any that’s walked the planet.
BTW, in case you want to know how I really feel about GWB, feel free to ask :)
#PRESSON
I can only guess Bobfr :)
#PRESSON
Thank you weslaya!!
#PRESSON
OOPPSS - sorry wesleya not weslaya!! :)
I liked it.
Dotster, do you have a link to the story? I’m not sure I understand what the gift was. I’m glad that it came from a small American company!!
Here:
http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2012/03/president-obama-give-uk-prime-minister-cameron-a-custom-made-100-made-in-america-grill/
Thanks DOTSTER!!
He’d better brace himself, orders will be pouring in from now on! The Obama touch, inevitably brings a positive response in its wake.
“thru the google”———— hahahahhahahhahhahahahhahahahhahaha!
I just googled “Engelbrecht Grills” There server is down!! YOWSER!!!
They obviously were NOT ready for the onslaught! I hope they get it together soon. They will be missing a lot of business.
That’s hilarious! And brilliant!
Love it, Chips. I hope this company becomes one of best selling companies in America, making Made In America grills for hundreds of years to come. Bless them for goodness sake.HZ
This was a nice story.
In the five years since the story was revealed, New York Times columnist Gail Collins has mentioned Seamus in at least 50 columns.
http://mobile.washingtonpost.com/c.jsp?item=http%3a%2f%2fwww.washingtonpost.com%2fpolitics%2fmitt-romneys-dog-on-the-car-roof-story-still-proves-to-be-his-critics-best-friend%2f2012%2f03%2f14%2fgIQAp2LxCS_mobile.mobile&cid=578815
Poor Seamus!
Seamus will get his revenge at last.
You can say that again!!!
Chipsticks, there are over 600 comments on the last thread - WOW!
You have done a MARVELOUS job tonight and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Good night Chipsticks
Good night TOD family
I can’t get over the beautiful pictures. Thanks Chips, another wonderful day at TOD.

Willard 31/56 and Santorum 36/52????
I just saw the ad from MoveOn.org in favor of women - for the first time, I’m loving that organization! I wish they’d also add the words of Romney, who wants to deprive women of the right to proper health care by ending Obamacare(s) and defunding Planned Parenthood. What a powerful ad!
Yay - I finally managed to post something tonight!
He had the nerve to twitt it…Unreal!!
And his point is what, exactly? No other president has ever invited supporters to the White House? No OTHER PRESIDENT?
Dwyer needs to shut up and go sit down somewhere…

Chips, I say bring the bundlers on. . PBO is not the first person who have invited bundlers to his affairs. I also say to devindwyer, who cares? :) BTW Chips, thanks for all of these wonderful photos today. I have a huge stack for my scrap book. I am going to devote one separate book just for this state dinner. :)
I want to see your scrapbook some day COS, it sounds like a thing of beauty! See you tomorrow, and thank you.

I’ll try to find video of PM Cameron’s remarks tomorrow - night everyone, thanks for your company ;-)
By the time I finally figured out how to check in I found out there was a new thread. So much to get thru tonight.
The FLOTUS looks stunning.
Now back to catch up on some reading. Have a very long busy day tomorrow. Sure hope I can watch the President’s movie late.
I’ll catch up on Friday morning. Hopefully
Nite Mtmariilyn and CEB. Have a restful evening. ((((((((( Be hopeful)))))))))))))))HZ
Quote: “The decision to run for president is a very serious one. And it’s a very humbling decision. I have to feel that I have something unique to offer the country that no other person can provide right now.” President Barack Obama in Ebony,February 2007.
Then Senator Barack Obama. And look what we have today, March 14,2012., and will have in reelection on Nov.6, 2012. Amen.
