Your blog reminds me of Langston Hughes’ poem…..”What happens to a dream deferred…..does it dry up like a raisin in the sun?”
poignant and true. I hope your dreams don’t die, that they are not suspended for long. I also hope that some good answers start coming to you soon. I admire your guts starting this blog.
Your writing is poetic…..there must be a publication that needs your writing, either an emag or a print one…….
So sweet of you to say that, Carolyn. I’ve been thinking about starting the blog for a while now (asked Chips for her opinion about a year ago). decided then that I didn’t have anything new or inspiring to add to the mix. I’ve since change my mind - not whether or not what I have to say is new or inspiring - just that I want to add it to the mix.
I know the Hughes poem. It too is apropos, but my dream reference is from Wainwright Loudon’s song, ‘Dreaming’ …
“I`d rather be dreaming than living
Living`s just too hard to do
It`s chances not choices
Noises not voices
A day`s just a thing to get through
Living`s just too hard to do…”
CORRRECTION! PRETENDING to tour America by bus….he’s taking his private jet to those destinations and MEETING the bus. This is a Mitt lie by OMISSION !!
It would have been great if FLOTUS and the girls could have went also, but you already see that little bit of B.S. from that dancing horse snob Ann Romney yesterday, about if they win they won’t be taking as many vacation as the Obamas. So POTUS had work to do, let him do the work and get back home to his family, and get ready to kick Mitt Romney butt.
Good Afternoon Chips and TOD Family. Maybe, I should not speak this, but I will anyway since pain is trying to charge of my body at this very moment, but music is soothing throughout the house because I have things to get done.
I totally concur with Chips and anniebella. President Obama should do exactly what he did. Why do so many people are always trying to tell this president what he should do and should have done. His planning with FLOTUS and their daughters are perfectly in order. POTUS and FLOTUS know what they are doing with their time together as a First Family and personally how they spend their time with their daughters.
Plus, FLOTUS was scheduled to speak at Oregon State ahead of time, and the G20 was planned ahead. PBO and FLOTUS did exactly what they always do, the right thing for their girls and for our country. People will always try to tell PBO and FLOTUS what they should have done. But we are here to support and be supportive to PBO in all sensible ways that are possible. Let us allow PBO to make those decision of scheduling. He knows what he is doing. They are smart enough to look at schedules and decide what is best for the nation and for sure, what is best for the First Daughters. Let it rest and stay focus and keep working to get him re-elected. Now, I done. I will leave it there. I love you all dearly. HZ
dear hz, i hope and pray the pain that troubles you will slip away, and leave you with a peaceful heart, a joyful mind, and a body willing to do your bidding. let the sweet music wash it all away.

The thing about these reports (sorry, I’m commenting without reading the article. It seems like a downer) is that they seem to forget that there was a serious economic crisis, which cost millions of people their jobs and livelihood. They report the news of unemployment like it’s just come from somewhere and they don’t know why. They don’t ever ask themselves what caused it, who’s trying to solve it, who’s obstructing the recovery and providing aid to those who need it, and who’s proposing the exact same policies that got the country (and the world) into this mess to begin with.
I was listening to NPR this morning (yes, I’ve gone back) and they had a story about a fraudster who bilked millions like Bernie Madoff did, by selling them fake rare wines. They said people bid thousands for these wine, and one wine even went for $42,000 in 2008 - when the recession was going into full bloom. While the rest of the world is struggling with the Eurozone pending collapse, the after effects of the economic crisis in the US, some greedy buggers are crying over being bilked because they spent millions on wine that ended up being only mediocre. People better wake up - or we’ll repeat the recent past.
Damn straight theo67. I was glad to hear the President of Mexico, (or was it Greece?) remind everybody at the Summit, that this finacial crisis started in/caused by North America. It really gets me steamed to hear RWs bitch and moan about Europe, as if the free marketeers on Wall Street had nothing to with some of problems over there.

JFK had a similar deal, remove the missiles from Cuba and we will remove missiles from Turkey.
I bet we will find out a lot more in weeks and months to come, of the Meeting!
Oh he’ll be squirming alright! I expect him to be soooo uncomfortable! Around all those Black folk…I know he’ll say something really F’ed up…like he relates to Black people because his family owned slaves or if he tries to be “hip!” I have two no bullshit friends that are attending…they’ll give me a full report.
I wonder if he’ll finally answer the question about black people being considered “cursed” until the 70′s in his Mormon church, and how they reconciled with that. And whether that’s influencing his attitude of total disrespect towards the President…
Yeah - I wonder if he’ll be stupid enough to lie about President Obama in front of this crowd, and if not, then how he’ll fill the time since lies are all he has. Maybe Newt can give him pointers on how to lecture black people about getting jobs instead of being lazy and relying on welfare, or whatever it was that Newt wanted to tell the black community.
WASHINGTON — Mitt Romney has declined to call on his supporters to stop heckling President Barack Obama’s campaign.
He told Fox News Radio on Tuesday that he doesn’t believe in “unilateral disarmament,” but said it would “be a nice thing” if both sides would stop yelling at each other during campaign events.
Over the weekend, Obama adviser David Axelrod condemned anti-Romney heckling during the Republican candidate’s bus tour, which ends Tuesday in Michigan.
Romney was asked if he would also condemn heckling during Obama events. He declined.
Axelrod was heckled aggressively by Romney supporters during a news conference last month in Boston. Romney supporters also regularly drive a campaign bus around to Obama events and honk the horn repeatedly.
Romney says American politics has a “long history of heckling and free speech.”

Ha… I just posted the same….but I have a problem with this report……Those were not Romney supporters….they were staffers from his Boston campaign office.
Hi everyone, I wish I were with the president b/c I love the ocean. The Sea of Cortes spot looks awesome. Don’t know if you’ve read this but it’s a good article by Roger Simon & comes with immigration talking pts for our new law:
Recount Officially Ordered In Wisconsin State Senate Recall
Wisconsin election officials on Monday officially ordered a recount in the state Senate recall in Racine, at the request of Republican state Sen. Van Wanggaard, who trailed Democratic candidate John Lehman by 834 votes after the final tally.
Lehman’s apparent win gives Democrats a new 17-16 majority in the state Senate, following their failure to unseat Republican Gov. Scott Walker.
With the current margin in the race above 0.5 percent, Wanggaard will have to pay some costs — but not very much. The state Government Accountability Board, which oversees elections in the state, told TPM that Wanggaard would pay $5 per ward involved in the recount, for a total of $685 at most. (One ward in a commercial area, with no votes cast, is likely to be excluded.) All recount costs above that amount will be absorbed by the local governments involved.

AH! Yet another “treasure” from Arizona! He and Baby Ben Quayle (my rep(ulsive) are dooking it out in redrawn districts now….who can out stupid the stupid. Writing Quayle an email today and pointing out a few things he “forgot” in all this immigration talk…he as his own new bill, something about “Don’t Backdoor the Amnesty” or some such Bullshit. I like the idea of these guys paychecks being tied to doing a certain % of actual work for all the American people. If that mark isn’t made…tough shit. NO PAYCHECK. These guys are the biggest freeloaders on the planet. I just want Ben to know that he’s got someone watching and calling him on on his lies and BS…
Yes, I’m holding my judgement on Cory’s recovery, too. The way the rest of the PLs piled on just seems like too much of a coordinated attack. I don’t trust it.
Mrs Greenspan asked someone from Politico if Senator Kerry would be “tough” on PBO during the debate preps considering he wants to become Secretary of State in the second term. Could a question be anymore lame?

Aww snap! Bristol done gone and done it now! Pastor Huckabee is pissed!
I don’t care what anyone says, Michelle and the girls should have went. They would have had fun.
That would have been crazy Jessica, can you imagine how that would have been reported? I don’t think any spouses are there.
Just like how they negatively reported on PBO golfing on Father’s Day.
Just like how they negatively reported on PBO golfing on Father’s Day. They might as well live it up.

I am not sure that shines a light of fortitude, for the President.

excellent observations, Theo. The problem is that would require journalists to actually - you know - BE JOURNALISTS! You expect too much, my friend.
I live in hope…

You may be right. Is Russia part of the WTO yet? If not, maybe PBO is dangling that in front of Mr. Putin.
Russia is now a member of WTO.
Jovie - I agree about the “saving face.” That was my first thought, after the conversation. That was planned, methinks.
We need McCain’s take on this. Why don’t you tweet him.
Cheeky bugger…
I leave for awhile and you have a new post up already!! Can’t keep up.
That is a perfect photo of POTUS and Lew.
Via BJ, mittbot to address the NAACP’s national convention next month.
Spectacular, isn’t it amk? What’s the old line? It’d be like putting King Herod in charge of a children’s home.
I wonder if he will Bash PBO at the NAACP Convention? I am sure he will be doing some serious pandering.
I’m actually looking forward to it COS, it’s always a treat to see this guy squirm!
I’d like to see the audience stand up and face the other way, although they’ll be much more gracious than I would be.

COS, Hell No he will not bash President Obama at that NAACP Convention. He is stupid but not that stupid.
LOL Anniebella.
Wanna bet 10K he’s that stupid?
That should be amusing.
Well it’s a good thing Romney is all for “heckling and free speech”. I am curious to see if he is going to try his Obama lies in that crowd.
By the way, I will bring the popcorn!
Since any time Willard speaks it is nothing but Obama-bashing, I have no doubt he will do the same when speaking to the NAACP.
He will NOT disrespect the President @ this convention…
do you mean, ‘he’d better not disrespect the president,’? because that is the truth! not that it wouldn’t be fun to watch!
Yeah - I wonder if he’ll be stupid enough to lie about President Obama in front of this crowd, and if not, then how he’ll fill the time since lies are all he has. So do a checklist on the new Obama policy:
Good for a limited number of hardworking, honest immigrants? Check.
Good for America because it will bring in more taxes? Check.
Good for America because it will increase security? Check.
Good for Obama politically? Check.
Good because it shows that a do-nothing Congress is a Congress that this nation can do without? Hooray!

I wonder if they’re going to “miraculously” find 835 votes somewhere in a closet…
Seeing their history I am worried about the vote mysteriously ending up in the GOP Senator’s favor in the recount.
