Someone’s going to get a “wet picture” today! It’s raining, podium not sheltered, as well as people! Lots of people! Up at: http://www.newsnet5.com/subindex/news/news_livestream1
Think of that “Sound of Music” song (that you won’t be able to get out of your head now)…
Raindrops on POTUS and duct-tape on Mittens…these are a few of my favorite things!
John Harwood just came out as a Republican, in my book, on Tamron Hall’s show. Since no Republican can ever be held accountable for dastardly actions, and the media will just say both sides do it, Harwood picked up on the Jack Welches of the world who said the books were cooked over at the BLS, giving us the 7.8 percent unemployment rate today. He said comments were made about Bush - that he had deflected attention on his sorry record by going into Iraq - but Harwood clearly told us on the show that “Bush went into Iraq because of our national security.” Hmmm … I thought the jury was still out on his reasons for that one - go ask Colin Powell, John. Maybe you can be at Bush’s trial, to speak for his side, if we ever get to see that, if I were to freakin’ live long enough.
A long time ago, I used to think Harwood was a reasonable, fair journalist. Then he changed. Maybe he found out that PBO is … uh … black, ya think?
harwood’s been a republican operative since the first time i saw his name many years ago. he’s good at playing the game enough to confuse people, like scott pelley too, but when push comes to shove, they promote the crazy. always. in fact, that’s why they keep getting higher profile jobs.
That Jack Welch conspiracy theory is the stupidest thing I’ve heard all year. If President Obama was interested in cooking the books, wouldn’t he have done it by now? Who in their right mind would subject themselves to Boehner’s “where are the jobs” cries every month if you had it in you to manipulate the numbers? Ridiculous.
Did you hear the President say more speech is good speech even if we all disagree on views. If Tamron offends you change the station.. Part of freedom is letting people speak so we can find out what they are really thinking. MSNBC never promised to only present liberal/progressive views. By the way, since I was home today Bill Burton was on Alex Wagner.
I agree with your assessment of MSNBC, but I cannot watch S.E. Cupp’s show. Everything else is pretty good. I especially love Martin Bashir, Rachel Maddow, Al Sharpton and Lawrence O’Donnell.
Pkayden, the only people I watch on MSNBC faithfully are Martin, Al, Lawrence, Melissa, Chris, Ed, and Tweety. But you believe me when I start hearing bullshit I turn away in a quick hurry and they lose my rating. I have paid cable so I know the stats people are checking cable number as well as the Nielsen ratings.
I was disappointed in Ed and Tweety because of their over-reaction to the first debate. I was very impressed with Rev Al, because you have to learn to be still sometimes and just digest.
I have no problem with free speech! What I have a problem with is people hiding behind free speech while falsely shouting fire in a crowded theatre! Surely, people who are injured or killed because someone falsely shouted fire in a crowded theatre, see nothing noble about “free speech” based on falsehoods. Canada believes in free speech, but it severely punish and restrict ” free speech” that is based on blatant lies.
Its President obama vs the media. they think Obama is down so they trying to come in for the kill. but the President is going to be the winner in this race.
They don’t think PBO is down, but they want gullible voters to think that he is so that they either don’t vote or vote for Romney. The MSM knows Romney is losing and they are desperate.
seeing those ads above from team obama and our president’s comments the last few days, it’s clear the debate went exactly as planned. they determined the “untruthful” label on mittbot is a winner with voters, and they’ve been very consistent and strong with it since the debate. they needed to see exactly what mittbot would talk about with all his “zinger” preparation and make sure he wasn’t going to surprise them, and now team obama knows what’s up. stage 2 will begin with the next debates (pres and vp). should exciting since it’s when team obama will start punching back in the rope-a-dope strategy, and by stage 3, around the last debates, they’ll probably deliver the knockout punch at the perfect time, and mittbot and republicans won’t be able to get up off the mat in time before the 10-count, which means election day. timing is so crucial with these things. forward!!!
actually, president obama was using that theme a lot during the debate even. everything they’re doing is baiting mittbot into the trap further and further, and republicans are dumb to realize it. gobama!
The republicans only had one “trick” in their trick bag, just like they only had one source (a foul source) to register voters…and we saw how that worked out for them. These fools are full of tricks, lies, theft and scams and when their wickedness don’t get them what they want, they have fits.
I wouldn’t say that the debate went exactly as planned. I would say though that the pants wetting that occurred was overboard and now with the great news from the jobs report we’ll see that the race will be largely unchanged.
Well thankfully Axelrod, Plouffe, Cutter, and by extension PBO himself don’t agree. There is space between perfect and awful which seems to have been lost in many evaluations of PBO’s perfomance. That is all.
The Obama team is the best there is…everyone went on and on about the brilliancy of the ’08 campaign, but I think the 2012 campaign is even more magnificent!!!!!!
I suppose telling lies all knight equals perfection! I understand why the President decided not to engage Mitt Romney in his lies. To do so would have meant that the President would never have gotten a chance to present his agenda for the future. Obviously, there are people who prefer an aggressive blatant liar over a calm and steady man who thinks it’s more important to tell the truth to Americans about his agenda, instead of wasting time trying to address all the lies spewed by his opponent.
I am an ordinary citizen who does not have to pay attention to pundits and opinion makers to make up my opinion. That is why, in my humble opinion, President Obama was the winner of the debate. I say that because he treated me as a mature rational citizen. Mitt Romney, on the other hand, treated me like an idiot. Like all con men, he was aggressive, loud and fast talking. But in the end, all Mitt was selling was based on blatant lies. I just don’t understand why reasonable people think that aggressively telling LIES is more preferable to calmly telling the TRUTH. Personally, I thank God that we have a president who is not willing to be dragged in the mud just to win the election.
Black clergy in Boston endorse Warren
Brown’s heritage attacks seen as divisive
“Some of Boston’s most prominent African-American ministers put their support behind Elizabeth Warren Thursday and denounced Senator Scott Brown’s attacks on her purported Native American heritage, saying the issue has become a divisive distraction from more pressing concerns about poverty and violence.”
Let the born again believers say, Amen and praise The Lord for those job numbers and the unemployment rate moving down! I’ll very happy more Americans are finding employment. Praise His Holy Name.
Now Chips, a request love. Can you put up the video of President Roosevelt from 1933 being a prophet taking about how the Republicans say they can do it better without it costing a thing. Twenty played it several weeks ago and Lawerence O played a little of it yesterday. That video is a classic. Thank you.
I was whooping and hollering about those job numbers at 8:30 am this morning when I heard them on Current TV. The country is moving in the right direction and there’s no reason to put a horrid man like Romney anywhere near the White House.
I was very nervous but I say oh well Lord let me see I went to Democratic Underground and saw the breaking news and thanked The Lord for putting Romney back in his box of lies once again.
Lorraine, you know I’m not religious, but I’m not above seconding your “Amen”! The first thing I did when I woke up was come here to see the numbers. I whooped. And then when I read about the “jobs truthers” I laughed out loud. We’re winning this thing!
Hey friends, Twitter has suspended me again! And, I’ve been very careful about how many folk are addressed in a tweet so I don’t know what the issue is, now. And, I asked the last time for additional guidance to be sure I was not doing anything that might trigger one of their algorithms - no response.
Bobfr, this saddens me greatly! I am absolutely clueless when it comes to twitter and how it works. I will be depending on you and others to tell me what all this means and why you are once again suspended. I thought you had satisfied their requirements. I hope this is not aimed at silencing you!
My problem is I have such limited time because of all the ‘real work’ I do every day that it’s just not feasible for me to have more than one account. If they do not rectify the situation, I’ll consider a separate account. Thank you.
Ah flip Bob, just got back in and was looking up TODers on Twitter and saw you were suspended again - absolutely infuriating. When I see some of the racist, hate-filled bile on Twitter …. and they suspend you? Hoping they’ll sort it out very soon, we need you there!
Thank you Chips. I hope so, as well. Will keep all of you informed, for sure. I’d like to think I was causing someone some indigestion but my ego is way to well managed for that :) I’m probably just triggering one of their algorithm/bots :D:D:D We’ll see.
I’m not sure what is Hayes’ point exactly here, but I can’t help but feel that had the jobs numbers been worse, his tweet would not be downplaying the importance of unemployment numbers. Furthermore, he’s clearly coming from the skewed MSM perspective that Romney did better in the debate (which he didn’t) and will do better in future debates.
@chrislhayes In either case, Obama wins. Stop trying to move the goal posts.
— aspirational12 (@aspirational12) October 5, 2025
He wants to prove that he is the smartest kid in the room. Typical. He and Rachel Maddow and Melissa Harris Perry can grate on my last nerve some times.
That’s Chris Hayes opinion, which don’t mean very much. Tell the people who found a job that the debates matter more. These two bit pundits is worth dog doo and Chris Hayes lead the pack. Hayes would be saying something different if the jobs number were bad. He would be saying how bad it was for the President. Because they weren’t bad, he is saying they don’t matter. A two face lying bastard.
The MSM has been peddling this “It only matters if it hurts PBO” bullshyte ever since PBO took office. Prior to the debate, it was impossible to deny that Mitt is losing badly (even though the MSM tried). They knew beforehand that they were going to pan PBO’s debate performance regardless of what actually transpired during the debate. I think the MSM is overplaying it’s hand (as well as setting a disturbing precedent that rampant lying is OK during a Presidential debate) by hyping how great Mitt’s debate performance was. Other than threatening Big Bird, can anyone remember anything Mitt said during the debate? Other than his support for the highlly unpopular “Voucher Care”, can anyone remember any other policy position Mitt has. It was all smoke and mirrors and our MSM willingly got conned.
I betcha mitt can’t even remember (without looking at his cheat sheet) what mitt said Wednesday…he was talking so fast, batting his eyes, bouncing up and down, flashing that silly grin and waving his hands, as if he had taken some “medication.”
So, according to Hayes telling lies, aggressively, matters more than concrete proof that the economy is improving? And this guy claims to be a smart progressive? With progressives like Chris Hayes, who needs tea baggers!
Chips, I’ve been wondering why my day feels a little off. Just figured it out! Where’s the FRIDAY video! I need my weekly cuteness fix! Please I wanna share it with someone on Twitter who needs it badly! :-)
When he goes to greet the crowd at the airport, the driver of The Beast has to adjust, crawl the car a bit here & there, depending where PBO is! The second “Beast” has to adjust accordingly too! Yep, that’s why I’m into these airport streams! :)
Pres. Obama has made Friday freaking awesome. He’s just been so pumped. I’m so thankful that the crowds show up every time to make sure he knows we have his back.
For those who couldn’t catch the speech.

UT! You are absolutely the best! With smart young people like you who are actively engaged in politics I know the future of our country is in good hands.
Okay, so Reuters very timely released their made-up “debate Bump” poll showing PBO’s lead over Romney slipping to just 2 pts. I told the folks who are tweeting this to keep dreaming….
Right………… Whatever gains he “allegedly” made will be gone soon enough. It was expected he would get a bump. The key is that the bump will be temporary.
There’s gonna be a bump. try not to make yourself crazy over the weekend. Things will come back by this time next week.
None of these polls are showing the full impact of post-debate. Hey, all it did was focus an army of PBO supporters who changed the narrative and focused on Mitt’s lies. We didn’t just have to fight the Repubs but our own whiny left, but we did it. We focused, we tweeted and FB’d and got the word out. Mitt’s lies are excellent fodder for PBO on the campaign trail and a bunch of effective ads.
No matter what they throw at us, we fight back. This is not the Democratic party of a decade ago.
No fricking way!!!!!!! Seriously??!!!!!:lol: hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahHhaha!!!!! Well, let him enjoy it. It’s the closest he’ll come to a celebration in the next month.
The whole rally seemed weird. I peeked in from time to time. As people were assembling had a huge screen hanging almost in midair showing the Romneys. Had a stage for Trace Atkins with red, white and blue lights over the top and one very bright flashing star. Next peek showed people piling into the stage area and then Ryan and Romney sitting side by side with mics attached to ties like they were waiting for something. This went on for several minutes before returning to the crowd. Didn’t watch the rest and missed the fireworks.
This was a response to Lisa about the Gish Gallop on the previous thread. We NEED to get the word out about Romneys’s strategy and what really happened Wednesday night.
“This is so important, Lisa. I would like to see a hash tag for gishgallop and make the term widely known, so as many people as possible know what Romney was up to. I suspect he’s been trained by Luntz, etc. Conflate and confuse.
The name is from a creationist named Gish who used this technique to debate scientists and other opponents. Bombard them with so many deceitful arguments so very quickly that it becomes impossible to argue a single point without getting getting caught in a verbal conundrum. Many scientists have given up trying to debate with such people because it is nearly impossible to have an honest dialogue. This is the style of FOX, Limbaugh, climate change denialists, etc.
The Obama campaign is familiar with that style of debating. It’s frequently used in politics and they most likely anticipated that Romney would use it since it’s the only option he had. President Obama was prepared for this and knew to not say much and let Romney carry on with his technique. Let me just tell you that there’s very little that anyone can do in debate that would surprise a politician from Chicago.
Hope… The administration may be fully aware of this, but the public-at-large is not. It is the public that needs to information. That is why I am sharing this information with as many people as I can.
Also, in Wisconsin I just got a THREE PAGE LETTER from Romney today with the same gish-gallop in it!
Yes, I agree the public needs to be informed of this technique. Lawrence or Rev Al might cover it, but I’m not counting on anyone else in the MSM. But thanks for sharing it, because it’s important :)
Gooood Morning….er uh afternoon (went out last night) to all my O peeps! What a great getting up day in TODville again! I’m a little late arriving, but managed to catch up on the threads and to see PBO’s first speech today. I even watched Robme’s speech, just to see if he was going to continue to pivot to the center. My first observation was that once he began speaking, the crowd, at least those behind him seemed to have lost interest in what he was saying.
Political take? Big Bird will be Mitt’s undoing. It was all that was chirping along the prairie path I run. I mean the birds of all species were literally all a twitter about Bird’s potential demise.
‘ For Democrats to reach the 25-seat magic number to seize control of the House, they’ll need to score more than a few upsets on Nov. 6.
So party strategists are starting to look beyond the lineup of races they’ve long focused on to a handful of longer shot contests in which they might find success if things break just right.
Even if Democrats fall short of a majority as most handicappers expect, an unlikely win here or there could make a real difference in the makeup of the House next year, perhaps pushing the party from the single-digit seat gains it’s expected to make into double-digit territory.
I’ll add another one, IL-17. In august, the GOP incumbent, Schilling had a 13 point lead according to an internal poll. Last week the Dem challenger Bustos released a poll showing her within 2 points. Not sure if this is one of the DCCC targets, but if this is true and it isn’t one of the targets, I wonder what is happening elsewhere.
Okay, it is one of the red to blue targets, which is good. Looking at their site, it is interesting that they have added Ryan’s district as an emerging target, which means they are watching it closely as it must be tightening. They don’t have Cantor’s district yet, but I bet they add it soon.
Ok, a little bit of an observation before I drive my ass to UC Irvine Medical Center for my biannual check up with the doctor who manages my stuttering.
A few of us were saying that any “victory” Romney won would be shortlived for a couple of reasons. 1) Debates aren’t as important as they’re made out to be, and they take place too late in the season to move numbers much, unless there’s a serious gaffe. That’s held true. And 2) it wouldn’t take long for the Right to stick their feet in their mouths with some outrageous statement.
So, today good job numbers come out, and the Right has gone full on “Jobs truther”. I wasn’t expecting the stupidity to come out until next week, so I am a bit shocked at today’s eruption. But it was bound to come.
The indies will see the jobs numbers for what they are: good news. And they will see the Right’s response for what it is: rooting for failure just to get the black guy out of the White House.
Enjoy your League Cup, Willard. It’s the only silverware you’ll get.
Gallup is 5 points and approval rating over 50.
Rasmussen is 3 and approval over 50.
When I start seeing those 2 go down to a tie or worse, that is when their was movement. But, that is not the case, and Lawrence needs to stop quoting Reuters, I am sure they know a Anchor from MSNBainC quotes them.
That is all!
hi TOD family
been lurking today.Concerning Welsh remind him of what HE did not long ago and that will shut his piehole up and if you can send this to Obama’s people that would terrific.Welsh needs to be put in his place and should NEVER accuse anyone of cooking no bloody books ever again
GM Under Jack Welch Fiddled With Books, Later Paid $50 Millions In Settlement to SEC!
Thanks Bobfr ! I am sure your generosity will be greatly appreciated! Most people volunteering for the President are not independently wealthy. It’s a great treat not to have to spend their limited cash on food.
ANKARA, Turkey, Oct. 5 (UPI) — The Turkish military said it was reinforcing its naval assets in the Mediterranean following a Syrian attack across the border that left five civilians dead. The majority of the members of the Turkish Parliament voted Thursday to allow a military response to the Syrian mortar strike early this week. Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Ergodan signed the measure that states the ongoing crisis in Syria is a threat to national security, though lawmakers said it wasn’t a declaration of war.
Turkey is a member of NATO. In a statement Thursday, NATO described the Syrian attack as a “flagrant breach of international law and a clear and present danger to the security of one of its allies.”
Pentagon spokesman George Little said Washington was outraged over the incident. “It is absolutely inappropriate, wrong and deplorable for the Syrian regime to conduct this kind of activity along the border, which has led to the loss of life of Turkish civilians,” he said.
The U.N. Security Council condemned the attack, saying the incident underscores the “grave impact” that the Syrian civil war is having on the region.
They’re way beyond the ‘stern warning’s’ now … shelling sites in Syria the past 3 days …. and way way more than is being reported …. FSA are consolidating all kinds of strategic locations throughout Syria, now. Iran is freaking out, compounded by PBO’s brilliant and highly effective sanctions to which the Iranian people are becoming more and more upset with their government/mullahs. SA, Jordan & Egypt are way tired of both Assad and the Iranian dudes.
Tense and clearly our President is deeply engaged and yet manages to be such a fine person on the campaign trail..
‘ Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus recognized select commands for leading the Department of the Navy in reducing energy and water consumption, increasing use of renewable energy sources and constructing sustainable facilities, all while maintaining mission readiness.
“These awards demonstrate the progress that we have made in the last three and a half years to change the way we think about and the way we produce and use energy,” said Mabus. “We are working towards these energy goals to help us become a more effective military force to help us accomplish the mission that the nation gives us.”
Navy leaders have shown how renewable energy saves lives on the battlefield and provides independence from foreign sources of energy. ‘
You know he can’t eat all the stuff he buys at these regular restaurant/deli/bakery stops. He’s got to be fattening up his aides/the press pool/the secret service, because himself does not gain weight. (I know the pumpkin cheesecake would be my downfall.)
CLEVELAND — President Obama’s impromptu stop Friday at Cleveland’s West Side Market had one business frustrated about the Secret Service lockdown.
Stopping at Rolston Poultry, Obama asked the man working the counter how business was going.
“Terrible since you got here,” he said.
Reached by phone, a person at Rolston’s who did not give his name explained to POLITICO that the presidential visit had put a dent in sales.
“I couldn’t sell chicken for an hour. Now I can sell chicken. I got to go,” a man said before hanging up. He did mention that he shook Obama’s hand.
Obama got a better reception at Michelle’s Bakery.
“It is no coincidence that I’m stopping at Michelle’s bakery,” Obama said, making a reference to his wife’s first name. “I just want to point that out. And she spells it the right way, with two Ls. That’s the correct way. How are you. Good to see you. So Michelle, when did you get started with this?”
Obama discussed business, the outlet’s cheese danish and butternut bread and the challenges of running a small business before buying pumpkin cheesecake, one Danish butternut loaf, and one loaf of zucchini bread.
Since it’s almost quittin’ time on a Friday here, I thought I’d pass along an interesting rumor/what-if that I encountered last week somewhere on the interwebs. Somebody said that they should leak info about Mitt’s 2009 taxes and what better person than ex-Swiss banker Bradley Birkenfeld, who was the original whistleblower about the deal. He apparently knows the names on the amnesty list and is also hoping for a presidential pardon for his related conspiracy conviction. Huh - funny what’s out there on the web.
If Mitt Romney had promised in the debate to write (once elected) every American a check for $50,000, our pundits would still have stood around congratulating the man for coming out the winner.
They see it as their job to be psychologists rather than experts.
Imagine if we had both Obama and Romney give a presentation on particle physics. Then we asked a panel of physicists which presenter did a better job of educating the people about particle physics. What would we think if the physicists talked about who was more aggressive or who blinked more, totally ignoring that Romney was describing organic chemistry instead of particle physics while Obama actually dealt with the subject at hand?
Why do all our pundits, who all follow politics religiously, think it not their job to explain the facts and that their expertise is best put to use pretending to know how people feel?
Thanks lamh35 for sharing this! I have truly appreciated your sober approach to the debate. I watched the C-Span replay of the debate, and I am still puzzled why pundits, on both the left and the right, insist on telling us that Romney won the debate. I can understand low information people coming to this conclusion based on the theatrics. What I can’t understand, however, is how the supposedly informed media people can declare a man who blatantly lied to the American people the winner of the debate! Have we come to the point in American politics when aggressive lying is preferred over calm truth telling? If a presidential candidate is hailed for lying to the American people during a presidential debate, what is to prevent that candidate, after he has been elected president, from lying to the American people on such a monumental issues like starting a war that may result in the deaths and injuries of many Americans?
If anyone watches Piers Morgan be warned he has on Nick Kristoff trashing the President’s debate performance. Quote from the Twitter tease “He blew it”. I will not be setting eyes on that (I never watch P Morgan anyway) nor will I turn on Tweety or Ed. Yuk.
‘ The Meta-Analysis, a snapshot of today’s conditions, has taken a remarkably sharp and large downtick for President Obama. This comes with a massive polling release from three Republican-leaning pollsters: Rasmussen, Gravis, and We Ask America. Just think – what are the odds that they would all come out of the gate so fast and all at once? It’s almost like they planned it. I guess the true size of the change will get sorted out over the next 1-2 days.
~
The November predictions below come with 1-sigma confidence intervals; approximately two-thirds of the time (68% to be exact), the outcome should be within this range. All calculations are done according to the most recently discussed methods, which are linked.
President: Obama 332 EV, Romney 206 EV. The 1-sigma range (68% of outcomes) is Obama 314-347 EV. The 2-sigma (95%) range is 282-347 EV (95%).
This is actually pretty good. If with a significant downturn (which is the result of heavily leaning GOP polls) still has PBO at the low end with 285 EV and 52.1% of the vote, and the Senate remaining in Dem hands, that is pretty good. He basically is saying, don’t expect this to stay at these levels, expect them to go up.
I was basically responding to the text part at the beginning, because I thought the good poll news was your response to the stuff at the top of the post. Sorry - I’ll go back and read it again.
the lead-in was not attractive, but the story developed into good news. i think the good news is enhanced by the bad, in this case, so i pasted them both. sorry for any heart attacks out there!
yikes-his eyes are scary and i can hardly stand to look at him! i think miss ann is right-his mental health (or what passes for mental health in him) could not withstand the strain of actually governing.
When you watched Mitt at the debate staring at Obama his eyes were narrowed and watery and took on the look of a scavenger bird ready to attack. It was a profile of his face with his eyes together with his nose that gave me that image. I am an artist so am used to looking for unusual features in faces.
I’m linking this from old Orange but it’s worth knowing. Apparently ABC news is at it again. Trying to smear our President on foreign policy and security. As someone has indicated, the media is in full campaign mode against PBO.
‘ Well Margaret, once again I am going to say what the media won’t. Mitt Romney is a lying sack of shit and he wouldn’t know a middle class tax cut if it bit him in the middle of his gold plated ass. Evidently the media seems to think that the person who slings the bullshit the farthest wins the debate.
~
Margaret, that man has more faces than I have chins. I can’t keep up with which lie is the real lie. All this would be so much easier if Governor Romney would just do what he says his five sons do: pick a lie and stick to it.
The way I see it, we’re all just a bunch of Big Birds. Romney looks right into the camera and says he likes us, but given the chance, he’ll fry us up and serve us on the closest ironing board Ann can find. I mean it. Really. ‘
I just love her…..I am so thankful for Randi Rhodes and Stefanie Miller. After the Debates all I could do was read in shock that so many were harsh on PBO. I read people who understood or believed what PBO was doing. After reading different peoples take on the Debates and listening to my favorite folks on the radio I feel better. I will ALWAYS trust this PRESIDENT before any teevee pundit that are flaky as all hell….Ed Shultz and Tweety!
Hi, jojo:) Amen to that, baby! Randi is awesome. So smart and factual….she has great critical thinking skills, which I admire! Our President is so smart. Some like to pretend to be his equal…they would be mistaken.
Funny that you posted that! I read those very words just the other day…how fitting. Like I said…some want to believe that they are his equal…but they would be mistaken. Big mistake. Big. HUGE!
Truly, theo. I can’t listen to her during the week usually because I’m at work. I took the afternoon off today to take care of some business and I wish that I could have heard more.
I know - I catch snippets of her at lunch every once in a while, and sometimes even have work time at my desk, so I can listen with one ear. She’s usually very good.
I feel bad because I can’t listen to her on my car Radio. By the time I get home, her show is over. The station that used to carry her decided to go all sports.
Fired up!
Yeah for firstt Allison…..O-H-I-O !!!
Congrats Allison.
First or second?
New post, already? Wow. Thanks.
lol…Chips you are moving too fast. I can’t keep up.
Too fast Symmetry  My fuzzy brain (shut up amk) forgot the heads up was so soon.
Can’t understand why Tamron Hall keeps interviewing these rwnj’s from American Crossroads, et al. Wassup with that? :-(
How sweet of POTUS to lean the young lady his coat.
Following instructions from bossman at MSNBainCapital?
Ugh!
Love these Ohio folks. Even in the rain, they are solid Obama 2012.

Love it!!
He is same one who called PBO arrogant the other day. I let him have it on twitter. Sheepi in wolf clothing.
Ridiculous.
Harwood is an ass-hat looking to ride the anti-Obama train.
She’s wearing his jacket!! How cute!!
the old black tax at work
Did you hear the President say more speech is good speech even if we all disagree on views. If Tamron offends you change the station.. Part of freedom is letting people speak so we can find out what they are really thinking. MSNBC never promised to only present liberal/progressive views. By the way, since I was home today Bill Burton was on Alex Wagner.
Personally I rather have MSNBC then CNN or FOX.
“because you have to learn to be still sometimes and just digest.” Very wise words Michele.
Crowd is FIRED UP for wet President OBAMA!!!
Now why is CNN lowering the volume?
I think the debate went perfectly as planned (both in the short term and in the long-run) for President Obama.
Agreed.
100% agreed!

LL no problem love. I’m not religious; I’m spiritual there is a difference. But we will say Amen together. :-).
Hey friends, Twitter has suspended me again! And, I’ve been very careful about how many folk are addressed in a tweet so I don’t know what the issue is, now. And, I asked the last time for additional guidance to be sure I was not doing anything that might trigger one of their algorithms - no response.
So, let’s hope they restore it.
Just wanted you to know.
#PRESSON
Fucking Twitter. They need to give you PRECISE guidelines as to what you can’t and cannot do.
I agree, LL. And, I have asked and tried to follow the guidelines, especially after the warning a couple of weeks ago.
We’ll see.
Bobfr, this saddens me greatly! I am absolutely clueless when it comes to twitter and how it works. I will be depending on you and others to tell me what all this means and why you are once again suspended. I thought you had satisfied their requirements. I hope this is not aimed at silencing you!
Oh no Bob! What is their issue THIS time? Couldn’t they at least give you a heads up so you can address the problem? SHEESH!
Have no idea, hf. We’ll see what they respond to my request for information.
Can you create a second Twitter account with another email address for when this happens?
My problem is I have such limited time because of all the ‘real work’ I do every day that it’s just not feasible for me to have more than one account. If they do not rectify the situation, I’ll consider a separate account. Thank you.
Good luck!
Ah flip Bob, just got back in and was looking up TODers on Twitter and saw you were suspended again - absolutely infuriating. When I see some of the racist, hate-filled bile on Twitter …. and they suspend you? Hoping they’ll sort it out very soon, we need you there!
#FREEBOBFR
 Hashtag of the year!
Love it!!!! :)
Let’s hope they do!!!
Thank you Chips. I hope so, as well. Will keep all of you informed, for sure. I’d like to think I was causing someone some indigestion but my ego is way to well managed for that :) I’m probably just triggering one of their algorithm/bots :D :D :D We’ll see.
Cause you have very effective tweets. You are a threat and they are messing with you. Press your way.
You are powerful, bobfr, and we know how they fear, yet crave, power!
Thank you Mae and Pamela … we’ll prevail, never fear :)
I rarely tweet more than 2 people at one time. But I have def done alot of individual tweets. So far I haven’t had the problem
I cannot stand him…
He wants to prove that he is the smartest kid in the room. Typical. He and Rachel Maddow and Melissa Harris Perry can grate on my last nerve some times.
Hayes, what Evan.
Evah.
Ha! Found it!!
PBO must drive his security insane when he goes so close to the crowd. He drives me nuts, scary, but I understand.
When he goes to greet the crowd at the airport, the driver of The Beast has to adjust, crawl the car a bit here & there, depending where PBO is! The second “Beast” has to adjust accordingly too! Yep, that’s why I’m into these airport streams! :)
One of my friend-girls has a natural fit when she sees people all over POTUS & FLOTUS.
Pres. Obama has made Friday freaking awesome. He’s just been so pumped. I’m so thankful that the crowds show up every time to make sure he knows we have his back.
For those who couldn’t catch the speech.
:-D
Thanks utaustinliberal for your tweets, they capture the essence of Obama’s events so well.
UT! You are absolutely the best! With smart young people like you who are actively engaged in politics I know the future of our country is in good hands.
7.8% UE, 114,000 more US families with paychecks, a great day for our country.
Not so much in Romneyland. For them it’s The Day The Music Died.
surely we’ll see a clip soon of pbo giving that woman his coat!!what a perfect visual for his work!!
Awwww! Think she got to keep the coat? :)
Okay, so Reuters very timely released their made-up “debate Bump” poll showing PBO’s lead over Romney slipping to just 2 pts. I told the folks who are tweeting this to keep dreaming….
so what was his lead before the debate
How is the poll numbers in the swing states?
It was 5 pts (according to Reuters).
Robney is telling People at his Rally, real UE rate is 11%!
Now, who is making shit up, cooking the books?
What do you expect from a liar jovie141? A liar who the tv pundits think is a winner. Mitt Romney is a bold face liar.
Tv pundits aren’t any better than Romney. CNN with their fixed debate poll, calling only white older folks from the South.
What is that going to do for him ?
Replaying the Rally - http://www.newsnet5.com/subindex/news/news_livestream1
That was interesting. Looked like an alternate camera. Shows the size of the crowd and their enthusiastic sounds are louder than the speech.
https://twitter.com/chrisrockoz/status/254296200549912576
Sorry for Tweet from one of the sites that must not be named, but….
Also, Robney had Fireworks at his rally because he win the debate! Really?
No fricking way!!!!!!! Seriously??!!!!!  hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahHhaha!!!!! Well, let him enjoy it. It’s the closest he’ll come to a celebration in the next month.
That’s like Mission Accomplished BS right there. What a hideous clown!
What a gimmick! Stupid hog.
Guido Fawkes Mittween Special! Dood’s pathetic.
Hopefully there’ll be some video available for this later :-)
Actually this is old news (more than a week ago since Moveon.org sent this letter).
I would love to see this covered by MSNBC hosts.”
THIS!!!
https://twitter.com/chrisrockoz/status/254196030998990848
Hope… The administration may be fully aware of this, but the public-at-large is not. It is the public that needs to information. That is why I am sharing this information with as many people as I can.
Also, in Wisconsin I just got a THREE PAGE LETTER from Romney today with the same gish-gallop in it!
Yes, I agree the public needs to be informed of this technique. Lawrence or Rev Al might cover it, but I’m not counting on anyone else in the MSM. But thanks for sharing it, because it’s important :)
Fired Up? Hell yeah!
I guess President Obama and his “Chicago thug” campaign must have roughed up the Ohio Court too…
Yippee!!!
You beat me to it HF2 ;)
Great news, after the FL decision.
It appears like the wheels are starting to come off of the rwnj’s corruption machine. We must watch out for crooked voting machines.
This is a hoot!
FB’d
five house seats to watch (and dems to support):

It’s time for Martin Bashir. He can help clear the stench from the morning herds.
hi TOD family
been lurking today.Concerning Welsh remind him of what HE did not long ago and that will shut his piehole up and if you can send this to Obama’s people that would terrific.Welsh needs to be put in his place and should NEVER accuse anyone of cooking no bloody books ever again

LOL if anyone knows about cheating and cooking the books, it’s this guy…….if JW was so funking smart why did GM need a BAIL OUT?
I think you are confusing GE with GM! I don’t remember GM being under Jack Welch!
Fuck it!!!! Martin has Alter on his show. Fuckity Fuck!!!
Just an FYI … the folks @OFA_CO 3867 Tennyson St. Denver, CO will soon be enjoying a bunch of treats from RosaLinda’s Mexican Cafe :)
#PRESSON
Thanks Bob! I spoke with the folks at OFA and they expect more people in the office tomorrow so mine is set for then. Thanks for supporting this!
Thanks Bobfr ! I am sure your generosity will be greatly appreciated! Most people volunteering for the President are not independently wealthy. It’s a great treat not to have to spend their limited cash on food.
Hahahaha…you can’t make this shit up.
Alter found a way of being snarky about the debate.

Turkey sends war ships to Mediterranean
Published: Oct. 5, 2012 at 12:22 PM
The U.N. Security Council condemned the attack, saying the incident underscores the “grave impact” that the Syrian civil war is having on the region.
http://www.upi.com/Top_News/Special/2012/10/05/Turkey-sends-war-ships-to-Mediterranean/UPI-73091349454147/
Remember the Turkish plane shot down earlier by Syria. Ergodan was pretty upset about that, too, and issued stern warnings then.

The Turks don’t play or bluster. I’ve witnessed their plans in action. The Syrians made a big mistake.
navy in hawaii wins award for green leadership:

Ray is doing a good job as Navy SEC!
i love that he said, ‘…the progress we have made in the last three and a half years…’
hmmm-now that number sounds familiar….!
wait-isn’t that supposed to be knoller’s tweet?
Well, not to be outdone….
ah, knoller was able to massage this into two tweets-a true leader in the field!
You know he can’t eat all the stuff he buys at these regular restaurant/deli/bakery stops. He’s got to be fattening up his aides/the press pool/the secret service, because himself does not gain weight. (I know the pumpkin cheesecake would be my downfall.)
I thought it was Knoller’s job to report on the President’s food jaunts. Anyway…pumpkin cheesecake is da bomb!
LOL! See above :)
The Dow closed at a 5 year high on job news. It’s fake, right:)
I’m listening to Martin Bashir’s show. He is funny as hell. He has a great sense of humor. The “Mitt the Liar” meme is picking up some serious steam.
I heard Hilda Solis got a thunderous ovation from the Wall Street traders. Anyone know if there’s a video?
Another Republican talking smack-
CLEVELAND — President Obama’s impromptu stop Friday at Cleveland’s West Side Market had one business frustrated about the Secret Service lockdown.
Some people are just born sour.
“Cleveland’s West Side Market” he is going to lose business for that nonsense.
The GOP is going to have a mental breakdown today.
Ask Jack Welch were these number cooked as well? Idiot.
Casual Observation

I think many of the pundits just don’t want to think or show they DON’T KNOW SQUAT, They call President Obama “lazy” and “stupid”, projection much?
Even more good news. The GOP is going to go batshit cray cray.
It does make me nervous that they will get more desperate - and will try anything. I don’t put anything past them.
If anyone watches Piers Morgan be warned he has on Nick Kristoff trashing the President’s debate performance. Quote from the Twitter tease “He blew it”. I will not be setting eyes on that (I never watch P Morgan anyway) nor will I turn on Tweety or Ed. Yuk.
Who watches Piers? His show is the lowest rated on CNN - which is now the lowest rated Cable news network.
blah….to late .
new from sam wang:
‘ The Meta-Analysis, a snapshot of today’s conditions, has taken a remarkably sharp and large downtick for President Obama. This comes with a massive polling release from three Republican-leaning pollsters: Rasmussen, Gravis, and We Ask America. Just think – what are the odds that they would all come out of the gate so fast and all at once? It’s almost like they planned it. I guess the true size of the change will get sorted out over the next 1-2 days.

Thanks for clarifying, Susanne! :)
Jack Welch is on Hardball?
I muted him….he is a hater.
yikes-his eyes are scary and i can hardly stand to look at him! i think miss ann is right-his mental health (or what passes for mental health in him) could not withstand the strain of actually governing.
Yup - I can’t even look at him.
Can we say buzzard meat? I know we can!
 Yes we can, VL!!
When you watched Mitt at the debate staring at Obama his eyes were narrowed and watery and took on the look of a scavenger bird ready to attack. It was a profile of his face with his eyes together with his nose that gave me that image. I am an artist so am used to looking for unusual features in faces.
He’s alot cuter than Bill O the Clown and Shame Hamnutie.
I’m linking this from old Orange but it’s worth knowing. Apparently ABC news is at it again. Trying to smear our President on foreign policy and security. As someone has indicated, the media is in full campaign mode against PBO.

This is happening down the hill from me this afternoon, thought I’d practice my Twitter photo sharing:
Well, that didn’t work like I’d hoped. What step am I missing in copying/pasting Twitter photos?
Let’s see if this works.
Thanks much - someday I’ll hopefully get beyond the apprentice level!
Someone needs to take grandpa Jack back to nursing home.
Jack Welch: ‘No Evidence’ Of BLS Conspiracy, But I Stand By BLS Conspiracy
they’re baaaack!
I mean it. Really. ‘

Spread the good news around.
Randi is killing it again today!
“You play the fool to catch the lies” YUM! This was from a caller! Brilliant.
Hi desertflower……I am listening to Randi too!
The only two I can stand listening to on the radio. Madison and Rev Al good too.
Hi, jojo:) Amen to that, baby! Randi is awesome. So smart and factual….she has great critical thinking skills, which I admire! Our President is so smart. Some like to pretend to be his equal…they would be mistaken.
df :)
“Then, gentlemen,” said Napoleon, “let us wait a little; when your enemy is executing a false movement, never interrupt him.”
Great advice and, never forget, PBO is a way, way better general than Napoleon :)
#FORWARD
Funny that you posted that! I read those very words just the other day…how fitting. Like I said…some want to believe that they are his equal…but they would be mistaken. Big mistake. Big. HUGE!
She was fantastic - as usual. The voice of reason.
I liked when she said “You’re my best friend - in my mind”
Too funny.
:)
