C-Span: President Obama will speak at three campaign fundraising events tonight in Los Angeles with President Clinton as well as George Clooney.
First, the President will join President Clinton at an event at a private residence, where they will both deliver remarks.
Later, President Obama will deliver remarks at the “30 Days to Victory Concert,” a fundraiser at the Nokia Theatre where he will be joined by Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro and actor George Clooney. Jon Bon Jovi, Earth Wind and Fire, Stevie Wonder, Katy Perry and Jennifer Hudson will perform.
Following the concert, the President will deliver remarks at a fundraising dinner at WP24 by Wolfgang Puck.

Tomorrow I will see President Obama in SF. How exciting. I am going with 2 other volunteers, and because I entered a predictive dialer contest I also won 2 free tickets, so I am taking my daughters. We opted for the sitting down seats that will be far away from the President - but as a family of shorties, I figured it would be hard to see and tiring to stand in the middle of the auditorium.

Once again, with feeling—-I am making my own personal plea that we keep religion out of our political discussions here. We all come from different backgrounds and have differing opinions on this subject, and many feel religion should play no role in our politics or our government. I just wish we could concentrate on what we all agree on—-the re-election of President Obama, and other Dems, and keep our religious feelings personal. I’m sure people who feel the need to include a religious message would be offended if there were others posting an anti-religious message every day. The opposite is also true. Forward with what unites us, not what divides us.
So long as no one is disparaging anyones religion (or lack of religion) I don’t have a problem with the prayers some give to PBO and our cause. Let’s not create divisions unnecessarily. These “religious messages” are all in support of PBO. I’m not sure it is possible to compose an “anti-religious message” in support of PBO, but would not try to deny you your right to make such a statement if you wish to. I am not offended that others may have different beliefs than I do, it is their right as an American.

Separation of church and state means that the STATE cannot impose a religion on the populace and cannot favor one religion over another. At times Politics is entertaining. For 2 years the right has been saying Romney isn’t “right enough” and the RWNJs have not supported him at all. In the debate Romney moves to the centre - attempting to woo the undecideds - and what happens - he wins the far right. Shows that they have no interest in politics - they just want a white man in the white house.

Well, I think a couple of us Obama supporters just made each other’s day. I live in the Midwest and just got a call from the Tampa, Florida, area. It was an Obama volunteer, asking if President Obama would have my support on election day. She was very upbeat but seemed a bit hesitant, at first. I told her he has 1000% of my support and I will definitely be voting for him again. She thanked me and before she fully hung up, I heard her saying to someone in the background, “I got this really nice woman.” Well, yes, I am. Ha! And so was she, as all Obama supporters tend to be.
Good times.

I’ve mentioned my CPA daughter being disgusted after her firm looked over Romney’s tax return, the one we were allowed to see and its 349 pages of foreign investments, not 1 dollar to any American company. She forwarded the return to mr. dotster, in the same biz. He hasn’t had time to go over all of it, but he did mention to me that Marriott’s name is a big part of the return, with many $200,000 speaking fees paid to Romney and Romney in return donating huge sums to the Marriott foundation. And by the way, I’ve been using the 349 pages of foreign investments on some of my calls, and voters are incredulous about this info—-think it needs more attention, solidifies support for Obama.

Hello everyone just wanted to share with you a conversation I just had with my cousin. He called me pretty upset, stating he was in church today when his minister (pastor Phillip Goudeaux in Sacramento, CA) started to preach issues related to the election. This is one of the largest churches in Sacramento, with a children’s nursery and Spanish ministryb (streaming their services online). My cousin said he was upset because he told them that he was voting with god, and that he had a daughter who was expecting a baby any day and if it was up to the left wing, they could abort that baby (“breaking its neck”). He went on to tell them that is why he was with the right wing. he didn’t use the work Democrat of Republican but made it clear he didnt think voting for the left wing party would be doing what was right in gods eyes. My cousin has just really began to get involved in the political process, so he didnt even know who the minister was talking about at first and called me, while out of town, to ask me who the right wing party was. this is so disturbing. I heard earlier in the week from our local television station and news paper (the Sacramento Bee) that this same minister was taking a lot of heat for stumping for Romney. My cousin said the congregation was clapping for this minister, and he said he had been receiving death threats to his staff. This is insane :-(
He needs to record this. On the low down of course. Better yet have a few people go, don’t sit together and each record it.

His daughter will not have a abortion if she did not believe in abortion. So that minister is one I would not waste my time listening too. The Huckabee crowd have been promoting this. They want a fight that they are hoping that the Robert Courts can rule in their favor. This once again, one of the many changes the right are pushing……in the Era of pres Obama especially. They talked about doing this during Bush…..but now, they are making come to fruition Today.

On the same day that Enbridge told its investors that its tar sands spill and cleanup had made the Kalamazoo River cleaner, EPA ordered the Canadian tar sands pipeline company to resume its cleanup of the Kalamazoo River after finding that submerged oil “exists throughout approximately 38 miles of the Kalamazoo.”
EPA’s findings, based on technical analysis from prominent scientists from the international oil spill response and recovery community, stand in stark contrast with the alternate reality that Enbridge is selling to investors and the public
Enbridge’s legacy in Kalamazoo was outlined by federal investigators as a company whose poor safety practices and failures to learn from past mistakes which resulted in the most expensive onshore pipeline disaster in U.S. history.
During the Kalamazoo River tar sands spill, Enbridge initially denied that tar sands was spilled. As Congressional and federal investigations began to uncover additional details on the spill, Enbridge CEO Patrick Daniel backtracked, saying:
“No, I haven’t said it’s not tar sand oil. What I indicated is that it was not what we have traditionally referred to as tar sands oil. … If it is part of the same geological formation, then I bow to that expert opinion. Another interesting story about debate reaction: my husband is visiting a friend in New England. The friend is a very prominent Republican business man in his state. Not at all right wing crazy, just one of the old fashioned, America’s business is business types. Hubby is very liberal, so they’re an interesting pair. They watched the debate together, and my mate, who tends toward drama, joined the crowd at the wailing wall. I, who didn’t even watch the debate, wasn’t the least bit interested in the drama, but I was very interested in the fact that his friend, who thinks another Obama administration would ruin the country, thinks PBO did a better job in the debate.
All the B.S concerning the debate was the fault of the sorry ass media and the two bit pundits.

Hello everyone, I’ve been struggling tonight with a virus. I visted something I should not have and got something. It was able to post a page wanting to hold my computer hostage. I’ve run microsoft defender, and mcafree. I’m mad since I have McAfree, but it did not protect me Any advice from anyone out there? I have 2 sign ons, and one still comes up with the bad message.

It can get pretty aggravating, but I guess I’d rather be blocked and undo it, than to have a virus. Do they have a tech support you can call or chat with?

The election was waaaaay to boring for all these professional media hacks, who believe that they are performing a civic duty, but are actually manipulating, fabricating, and distorting facts and truths (sort of like our least favorite presidential candidate). Joseph Goebbels and George Orwell would have been so proud of our current 4th Estate! However, I have no doubt that this election will result in an incumbent’s reaffirmation by the nation.
Most of you I am sure believed that this was bound to happen. I think everyone here has a tremendous responsibility to fight the lies with passion and conviction. Last Wednesday was NOT the brightest moment for this blog and others “liberal” media outlets. I respect everyone’s opinion, and there will always be room for differences. And I am forever grateful to Chipsticks for creating such a powerful forum. But Wednesday was really an embarrassment, not for our President, but for many in our progressive ranks.
I hope that we all reflect on our purpose and understand the delicate nature of this election. Never has a candidate been up against tremendous forces - whether because of the President’s ethnicity or politics does not matter at this point. All positive energies must work collectively together towards one common goal - to defeat the shape-shifters, their media, and their financers.
I look forward to the next four weeks with great confidence, focus, and determination to re-elect our President. Thanks to all!

Okay, here’s my very mini rant. Just listening to news radio and the reporter says, “The Obama campaign already feels it has Cali all sown up, so why is he there? Well, to collect another mil from a fundraiser with…..’.”. He’s there to get funds and maybe some debate tips” . I paraphrased this reporter but my point is- PBO’s supposed debate flop has become the laughing stock all over punditry, and aided by many here who saw him as “weak”. I’d just like to say, if he looks weak to you (and you have your right to your opinion), and you must “advise” on what he needs to do next, why not register yourself as a candidate and run for office ? With friends like some here, who the hell needs enemies? Best of all, take what Tally said in her post and look at the big picture. There is just absolutely no time left for critique. What good will that do when PBO is busy campaigning, and who does it serve to view it anyway? It just lends to lengthy discussion of no effect on this election. Again, my rant, my offering.

I hope I don’t offend anyone but I, personally, feel that it may be helpful not to mention more uplifting if we all just STOP talking about the debate. It doesn’t help if we regurgitate negative comments/analysis either by news media or numbers analysts like Nate Silver. There is one month to go - everything is on the line NOW. Let’s try and change the narrative by focusing on other, more productive things. And my advice is not to obsess about the coming debates - what will be will be. I hope and pray that VP Biden and Pres do well - noting is guaranteed and we should all just calm down particularly if live blogging/tweeting during the upcoming events. Our focus should be on CALMLY pointing out Romney BS and applauding/supporting the most effective points made by VPB and PBO. Don’t retweet/draw attention to dumb comments made by Maher and Ice T about weed. It just keeps the debate ‘flop’ narrative going. The New Yorker has a brutal cover coming up so please be aware and try to ignore it. We are not 6 months out - it’s a month and time to fight like mad, organise and get out th evote - anything else is a waste of time. Sorry if this comes across as a rant - just eager for the subject to change.
