I love PBO!
GE Chips, TOD…thanks for all that you do!
You know he loves you back, Allison! ;)
Yeah!! Hi MP hope all is well.
<3
Congrats on 1st Allison!! :)
Hello Bobfr…Thanks for all of your informative tweets!
You’re most welcome, Allison!! :)
Will you look at us, bobfr, twinning up aisle 2! ;)
:)
Adam Silver should have used his Presser to step up not stand back.
Well said.
Absolutely Vicki!!! He squandered an opportunity to both Lead and Teach.
great point but it will only change if Justice Roberts realizes and acknowledges it.
Sadly John Roberts has already destroyed the country in favor of corporations and wealthy white conservatives. Damage done and far reaching
Destroyed is right.
And he has the years and venality to do inflict more destruction.
Life time tenure is a fucked up idea.
Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!
/huff. puff. pant. wheeze./ Made it!
Yo Chips-Sticks! What’s cooking?
Echoes Bob’s tweet perfectly.
When it comes to players, they suspend/fine immediately. But when it comes to people like Donald Sterling, their words and actions have to be put into context. What a cop-out.
Morning/afternoon/evening everyone, 97 trillion billion thanks to Nerdy for the wonderful posts today, huuuuuugely appreciated.
You’re welcome. :)
Aaaaaaaand I’ll take that “97 trillion billion thanks” in the currency of “CHELSEA IS THE GREATEST! CHELSEA IS THE GREATEST!”
Tomorrow’s going to be another completely WEIRD day in my sporting life, ie: ‘COME ON CHELSEEEEEEEEEEA’. Jeez, that hurt.
Liverpool v Chelsea is on at an ungodly hour on the Best Coast. Hence, I am taping it. Then I shall watch. Then I shall either rejoice or scream in agony to the heavens. So let it be written, so let it be done.
The premiere players in the world can’t wait for the World Cup to begin……..wait?
Hahahahahaha.
Duuuuuuuuude…my heart is thump, thump, thumping super hard. It’s an away game and we’ve got to kick Liverpool’s ass and move forward. On the one hand, I’m super pumped. On the other, I want to be all blasĂ© about it because if I am, then there won’t be some jinx and then Chelsea will win.
Oh, the quirks of a football fan.
OUR PRESIDENT IS LIKE A ‘TIMEX’…..THOSE FEET JUST KEEP WALKING…AMAZING…MAY GOD DEEPLY BLESS HIM AND SEND HIM HOME SOON!,,HE HAS TO BE FEELING LIKE A SUITCASE BY NOW!
NBA leadership had an opportunity to improve its image, teach everyone that racism is never to be tolerated, and bolster morale among all the players, especially the Cavaliers, instead ….
…. it FAILED. Now everything Silver does will be reactionary to his cowardly pandering to Sterling.
Still celebrating…….>-I

PSA - Don’t ever update firefox to its latest avatar 29.0. It’s as fucked up as the twitter me page.
Last known best version is 24.0. They have managed to fuck up every version after that.
What is this Firefox of which you speak?
poor man’s browser.
:(
I just upgraded to 28 - it fixed a couple of problems I had in 24 & created some different ones - sigh
Yeah, I did too and then rolled back to 24.0. Have some occasional crashing with 24. Other than that, no issues. Disabled the automatic update too.
I never use auto update on anything other than virus stuff. I don’t give feedback, I try to avoid all the incursions into my world - but - I do one search on google for tableware - and am buried in ads for same for the next month.
Finally kicked the effing win8 into behaving like win7 in the new puter.
All around geeky failures everywhere.
Love the concept of “here’s a new pen; feel free to use it to sign a peace treaty.” Nice, symbolic gesture.
Agree, JB……. but a random thought just popped in my head…
If you took a poll, who would get the most votes for least interested in a peace deal…… Vlad or Bibi?
Could be a tie. Sad, but true.
I guess this is “the real” John Dean’s twitter account … didn’t take long, in any event, for the John and Hillary Gong Show to get going. They’re “friends,” you know.
Um, the “McCain Institute for International Leadership”? Good gawd, what a hideous charade.
I think they’re actually in his family room, and that’s a prop set behind them. Wife’s fortunes paid for it. Sickening.
That HRC considers him a close friend is the kind of thing that makes my skin crawl. UGH.
IMO, Meta, clear evidence that Hillary is not for US leadership in the 21st century.
Precisely, vc.
Hillary might have worked in 2000 or 2004, but she just does not fit in any way that I can see for any time going forward.
VC, I agree with you 100%!
Hello there, Nathk! How are you?
I think I’d better go prepare breakfast for the folks (only time for the week that I do) before settling in here! Have a good Sunday!
You and I share that same skin crawling on the topic. I’ll leave it at that. Eek.
They have in common - losing to PBO at the ballot box.
It’s a great deal more than that, I’m afraid.
true that - but losing to pbo by far the most impact on the world
Not sure what you mean, but I was talking about the world within for both of them as to their commonality. And I’ll leave it at that, because I don’t really like thinking about either of them that much!
I will skip this, since right now I don’t care for either one of them, McCain or Hillary.
With you! Moving on!
South Korean Prime Minister Chung Hong-won has announced his resignation amid criticism of the government’s handling of the sinking of a passenger ferry.
The Sewol ferry with 476 people on board - most of them students and teachers - sank off South Korea on 16 April.
Divers have recovered 183 bodies, but scores are missing presumed drowned.
Furious relatives have repeatedly criticised what they see as the slowness of the recovery operation.
“I wanted to resign earlier but handling the situation was the first priority and I thought that it was a responsible act to help before leaving,” a sombre Mr Chung said in a brief announcement.
“But I’ve decided to resign now, not to be any burden on the administration.”

A law has come into force in Turkey giving the secret services greater powers of surveillance and extending immunity for its agents.
The law also provides for prison terms of up to 10 years for journalists who publish leaked information.
It is the latest in a series of measures which critics say are designed to bolster the power of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
He is accused of introducing the measures to stifle corruption scandals.
The new law extends the ability of secret service agents to conduct foreign operations, tap phone conversations and to access data held by private and public institutions.

money quote - (irony be damned)
According to allgov.com Ciavearella’s cases from 2003 - 2008 were reviewed by a special investigative panel and later by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court and it was found that upwards of 5,000 young men and women were denied their constitutional rights, and therefore all of their convictions were dismissed and were summarily released.
Once again TOD is the place to be to know what the President is doing. Chips and Nerdy Wonka are the tops!!! Thank you for all these wonderful pictures. Our President is truly a man of the world. We are blessed to be alive to see this. No one else could thrive in such conditions of disrepect by the media and loved by ordinary people of the US and the world. Thank you all.
Dramatic as this was, the Bundy-BLM dustup shouldn’t obscure the underlying issue that’s at stake here for taxpayers: the huge costs of the grazing program into which Bundy refused to pay.
Across the west, the BLM and U.S. Forest Service manage 13.3 million AUMs (Animal Unit Months) on 250 million acres of public land. One month of grazing one cow/calf combination or five sheep (the definition of an AUM) costs $1.35—a fee that’s substantially below the present-day cost of $16-$20 per month to graze livestock on private land (BLM evidence of this disparity is noted here.) The direct loss to taxpayers, according to Wild Earth Guardians’ interpretation of GAO data, is huge: at least $123 million a year. Indirect but related costs push the total to as much as $1 billion, all to produce less than 3% of the nation’s beef supply.
The ultimate losers in this equation are wild horses and the increasingly shrinking western lands they roam that belong to the public. To create space for this taxpayer-funded cattle program, the BLM, according to its website, deploys helicopters, rounding up 8,255 wild equines in 2012 and 4,288 in 2013. The roundups, according to The Cloud Foundation, cost an average of $750 per head. Some equines are adopted out for $125; the others are warehoused at a cost of $1.35 a day. Total cost for last year’s Wild Horses and Burros program: $71.8 million (according to the BLM).
Racism in America just had one of it’s best weeks evah ….
Sorry there were so many for you to round up, but I’m glad you did.
Just had to be done, Jacqueline, and 140 characters is a disciplining framework for attempting to do so!!
Yes We Can
I finally just finished watching Breaking Bad. OMG, emotional hangover.
Yay! Welcome to the club.
I’m sure you must have experienced a roller coaster of emotions - sadness, anger, frustration, bewilderment, confusion, edge of your seat OMG!
The scene with Walter White was so well done. It was one of the top perfect endings to a series I’ve seen in a while. The song that was used to accompany that scene was A+. The expression on Walt’s face left me roiling with different emotions. I felt choked up and yet somehow happy for him that he dictated how it all ended. Whenever I hear that song used in the last scene, I get chills.
Breaking Bad was a top-notch show on every level and Bryan Cranston made Walter White so human and deeply flawed that you couldn’t help but connect with him while recoiling in horror at the depravity he sank to. And let’s not even get into Jesse. Phew!
Breaking Bad and True Detective’s season one will stay with me for a very long time.
This scene is one tiny reason why EVERYONE needs to watch this show. Damn…damn…damn…Bryan Cranston brought the heck out of Walter White to life.
YES, you hit all the notes! And that clip, among so many others, sums up the man Walter White became - slowly, slowly and incrementally over time. The hug his son gave him toward the end really summed up how sadly estranged the whole family had become. And that music you talk about really really struck me hard, too.
There were some very, very powerful scenes with Jesse in the last few episodes. He really gave a tremendous performance, as did Skyler. They all changed so very much - that is what made this whole series so intriguing. You never knew what they would do next because they were constantly transforming. And even though you may have a tinge of sympathy for any or all of them, what happens to them and their family is just too heartbreaking and brutal. What started out as the desire for money ends up with them not being able to even stomach the money.
INCREDIBLE series and thanks for talking me into watching it! - although I must say it is terribly haunting.

Thanks! Great timing.
Oh my - 61 posts & I just got here from the last thread! Fabulous pictures - thank you so much Chips and NW.

Unbelievable. Without you, Chips, we’d probably never see any of this.
On the other hand Jacqueline, with my expert-i-ness on time zones, it’s an absolute miracle that we didn’t have to wait four days to see these images :???:
You must have used the “buddy system.” Maybe Danny poked ya!
You’ve done very, very well with the time zones, Chips!
:-)
Ahhh … who knew we had matching clocks.
:-) I’ve had a glass of wine Jacqueline, now it looks like this:
Danny will walk himself tonight, yes?
:)
i wil jac totly sad she hicupin vilently
I am either so desperate for a chuckle tonight or you are JUST THAT GOOD at makin’ me laugh, danny, but ya did and I guffawed (it’s what we humans call laughing).
Just curl up and hit the sack, little buddy. She’ll come around in the morning. They always do.
One of the reasons I do not have a dog. The upkeep is too great. #TooManyBrushes
Oh, but J’OB, there are so many reasons TO have a dog! :-)
I had one, once, for four days. The story’s longer than that time I had one, once, for four days. But I like dogs at your house! Especially large ones. :)
Love all the reports of how deeply involved VP Biden is, in all of this. He is certainly President Obama’s right hand man!
New post!
