You have to share the champagne with Carol!

Just an observation - some winners get grinning trophies, some get shared champagne, some get O-pictures ….others get a duck egg. What’s the criteria to qualify for …..something more than the egg? Just asking, of course - a sort of morbid curiosity if you will.

        • June 7, 2025 at 8:05 pm

All depends on how sleepy I am VC - at the moment: exceedingly sleepy!

            June 7, 2025 at 8:10 pm

What! Exceeding sleepiness generates an offer of champagne for the winners?
/whisper/ We’d best keep this under our hats, CC. Can you imagine how many TODobots would try to drug you into sleepiness? /shudder/

Seriously, I can imagine after that trip to Europe (and not having PBO’s stamina/metabolism) how wiped you and NW might be. Hope you plan to get some good rest between now and Monday.

This is just awful, and those nasty repukes created this and they need to be called out for this.

They will have blood on their hands if something happens to this family.

This is what hate and ignorance produces.

        June 7, 2025 at 8:19 pm

The media will blame the president, if something happens to family. I am serious!

          June 7, 2025 at 8:39 pm

Like I said earlier…PHUCK the media. This president will not be BULLIED into not doing what’s right for the country or following the law just because of bigots in the mainstream media and Republican party!!!

They already have much blood on their hands Cindy. Started with Gabby Giffords and those who died around her. They have no shame - they treat it as their success.

How on earth are Sgt Bergdahl and his family supposed to be whole again in a Nation that they call their own? Truly shameful what so many on the right has become. Hateful merchants with Zero Souls.

        June 7, 2025 at 8:28 pm

It is criminal the way the repukes, rightwing nuts and teabaggers drum up so much hatred in this country. People are walking around with these oversized guns waiting to unload, and the repukes flame the hate to create murder.

Some nut out there is going to try and harm these people because FOX promotes and give air time to this hate, and they participate in it with their own lies. This family will have to live in fear and soon the people in their town will be asking them to move away.

There is no place for them to go. CNN is showing the statements from the parents of the dead soldiers and this is going to be one big situation to deal with.

        • 50 hopefruit2
          June 7, 2025 at 8:51 pm

The repukes, rightwing nuts and teabaggers would not be so successful drumming up this hatred, if they didn’t have the mega media platform right there to give them a HUGE assist.

We need to hold the ENTIRE media spectrum accountable. They are NOT objective and play a huge role in fomenting the hatred we see on the right. It’s not just FOX news. Look at how Chris Matthews and Joe Scarborough were carrying on the last few days - with zero accountability.

They both should have been removed last week. We all need to call these hate filled media people out. Scumborough lost his mind last week but apparently he was muzzled when I watched some of it on Friday. He didn’t say anything and was pouting like a spoil brat. So he made one comment about people came up to him in Paris and stated; we love your country but we can’t stand your President.

That was his way of getting one lie in about the President. We should all tweet, write, e-mail and call these networks because they give the platform; no difference than how they entertained Donald “ugly hair/face” Trump about the President’s birth certificate. They loved what he was doing and entertained it daily.

Exactly! You can include CNN’s Jake Tapper on that list of media flame throwers who have been attacking this poor POW, his family and the President.

        June 7, 2025 at 8:46 pm

The media helped foster that hate in their quest to “stick it to Obama” and they cannot try to feign innocence about this. If anything happens the media has blood on their hands.

The second biggest reason Sgt. Bergdahl’s dad is being threatened - let’s face it - is because of his long beard and his seeming empathy with the Taliban, per the evil critics. I know I speak for many mothers when I say that if it were MY son who was being held by the Taliban, I’d be wearing a burqa 24/7 if I thought it would somehow get him out of captivity and home.

        Happy Saturday evening jacquelineoboomer,
It is always about the “muslim” thing with these but holes. Yes, I am with you, I would do the same thing if that was my child. I don’t know how these people look in the mirror at themselves; such ugly and evil inside of them. Surely, they hate themselves which is why they exercise so much hate toward others.

Totally agree, Cindy, especially on the “hate themselves” part. Never threw the word “evil” around much, myself, until this crowd of RWNJs came around! Now, that word comes to mind often.

One of the most important qualities I like about PBO is that he does not come off as an elitist. He cares about all people and does not act like he thinks he is better than anyone else. That does not change due to him trying to impress others or for his popularity to rise.

    Danny update:

No matter how mean other dogs have been to him, he has never reacted.

    Until today.

A miserable, cranky, runt of a dog snarled rather aggressively at him when he tried to say hello.

    What did Danny do?

He slapped the crank in the face with his paw.

I mean, he literally slapped him, in an entirely human way.

I said sorry to the owner, and then whispered in Danny’s ear: “WAY TO GOOOOOOOOO!”

Oh Chips, you are just like me! My cat Folster chases the bully cat next door out of the yard the minute he tries to come over the fence. Outside, where the neighbors can hear me, I behave like a fair-minded arbitrator, but once we all return inside the house, I give him an appreciate massage and tell him, “You are so brave and strong, Folsterman, thank you for protecting us!” Then he purrs and smiles and feels very proud of himself.

      • June 7, 2025 at 9:27 pm

:-) MadameSoph, we have the same parenting skills! I was SO proud of Danny for standing up for himself, while slightly concerned that he’s decided to take no more ****.

All I can say is: I LOVE Folsterman!!!!

And he loves you (he’s also an Obot) although he is often jealous of the time his mom spends looking at the TOD computer screen. He has learned to lay next to my laptop and push all my papers off the desk with his tail. I have now learned to scroll with one hand while massaging him with the other.

          I’m proud of Danny too!

Evening, everyone:) I’ve kept a low profile today…here, but left to soak this day in myself. What a beautiful tribute to a most amazing human being. Dr. Angelou, you will be missed, but never forgotten.

I came upon this very good read and thought I’d share. http://www.salon.com/2012/09/10/why_i_left_the_gop/

My old Republican worldview was flawed because it was based upon a small and particularly rosy sliver of reality. To preserve that worldview, I had to believe that people had morally earned their “just” desserts, and I had to ignore those whining liberals who tried to point out that the world didn’t actually work that way. I think this shows why Republicans put so much effort into “creat[ing] our own reality,” into fostering distrust of liberals, experts, scientists, and academics, and why they won’t let a campaign “be dictated by fact-checkers” (as a Romney pollster put it). It explains why study after study shows — examples here, here, and here – that avid consumers of Republican-oriented media are more poorly informed than people who use other news sources or don’t bother to follow the news at all.

Waking up to a fuller spectrum of reality has proved long and painful. I had to question all my assumptions, unlearn so much of what I had learned. I came to understand why we Republicans thought people on the Left always seemed to be screeching angrily (because we refused to open our eyes to the damage we caused or blamed the victims) and why they never seemed to have any solutions to offer (because those weren’t mentioned in the media we read or watched).

My transition has significantly strained my relationships with family, friends, and former colleagues. It is deeply upsetting to walk on thin ice where there used to be solid, common ground. I wish they, too, would come to see a fuller spectrum of reality, but I know from experience how hard that can be when your worldview won’t let you.

An honest, heartfelt account of one man’s opening his eyes to a larger world…

Especially after the hatred and abuse the media and rwnjs are doing to his character and threats to his family. This country should be ashamed of themselves for doing this to a fellow American no matter whether he agreed with this war. I place ALL the blame on the media for sowing the seeds of lies and doubt which has endangered him and his family.
