….It is amazing how quickly the Republican hero crumbled after the Obama administration suggested that they may have to reassess their across the board support for Israel in the UN. Netanyahu has flip-flopped on opposing the two-state solution, shut up about the nuclear deal that the Obama administration is negotiating with Iran and has now apologized to Israeli Arabs for his ugly race baiting.

The message is clear. Obama owns Netanyahu…..

“..meet the new object of your basketball affection: Xavier center Matt Stainbrook, who leads the Musketeers into the Sweet 16 against Arizona this Thursday. Stainbrook isn’t just the Musketeers’ leading scorer — he’s also one of the world’s largest Uber drivers and a model big brother, to boot. A 6-foot-10, 263-pound post, Stainbrook is sixth-seeded Xavier’s top scorer and rebounder, averaging 12 points and seven boards per game. He’s in his fifth year of hoops eligibility, already done with his undergrad studies and now working toward an MBA. Basketball star, MBA student — what else? That’s an extra-full plate for most college students, but Stainbrook also moonlights as an Uber driver. Since September, he’s used his 2004 Buick Rendezvous to earn extra cash by driving users of the popular ride-hailing app around Cincinnati…..

…Because he’s not on scholarship, Stainbrook can use the extra cash. That little fact, of course, begs an obvious question: How is a 6-foot-10 college hoops star not good enough to earn a full ride? Stainbrook actually gave up his scholarship before this season so that Xavier coach Chris Mack could use it on his younger brother, sophomore Tim Stainbrook, a 6-foot-6 reserve forward who averages just one minute per game…It was even Matt who convinced his little bro to walk-on at Xavier in the first place instead of taking a scholarship to a smaller school…After Tim’s freshman season ended last year, Matt decided to give up his scholarship for his baby brother. Undergraduate tuition costs much more than Xavier’s MBA program, his thinking went, so the switch made sense….continued”

“The average surface temperature in China has increased by 0.23°C (0.4°F) each decade of the last 65 years, said a Chinese government official—twice the average pace of warming everywhere else on the planet. This isn’t the first time the Chinese government has quantified the effects of global warming on its environment. However, today’s remarks are a break with previous statements that China “has basically kept pace” with the warming experienced by the rest of the world. The remarks were also unusually grave. Since 2000, weather-related disasters have cost China 1% of its GDP, eight times more than the global average, said Zheng Guoguang, head of China’s meteorological administration…continued”

On a lighter note, I turn around and four-year-old action figure great grandson is pulling long blonde hair out of his mommy’s hairbrush, putting the strands on the sofa next to him. So, I say, “Eew. Don’t do that, honey.” And he says, “I have to. It’s for the scrapbook.”

So, I’m guessing he’s seen Mommy keep a lock of his hair in his baby book, so he’s decided to keep a lock of hers - possibly in his “Mommy book”?
