White House: What You Need To Know About The New Contraception Guidance

It is crucial that insurance companies provide all the benefits that women deserve under the Affordable Care Act, at no cost or inconvenience. So this week, the Obama administration took steps to eliminate any ambiguity around the reforms the ACA calls for. Here is what the Administration’s guidance makes clear: Most insurers must cover, without cost-sharing, at least one form of contraception in each of the 18 methods for women that the FDA has identified, including the ring, the patch, intrauterine devices (IUDs), and birth control pills. Additionally, the Administration is making a few other things clear to protect important preventive services:

Insurers must cover preventive screening, genetic counseling, and genetic testing for women who are more likely to have a certain type of gene that puts them at increased risk for breast cancer, if deemed appropriate by their providers. Issuers cannot limit preventive services based on an individual’s sex assigned at birth, gender identity, or recorded gender. This will help ensure that transgender people receive the care they need. If a plan covers dependent children, companies must provide recommended women’s preventive services for those dependent children.

Eric, I got just as angry at the pro-TPP Democrats on twitter who bought totally into the MSM lies. And when I tried to push back, they were deranged: they didn’t care if the delay meant we’d get better protections in the bill, they just wanted the Dems to vote right then for TPP. It was insane.

Love this post! Thanks, NW for such endearing photos! I have a call in to Sen. Wyden’s Portland office about trade vote machinations but have not yet heard how they are moving forward. McTurtle is a wall-eyed reptile for pulling that stunt yesterday after the Wyden-Hatch agreement in committee.

The only bad part about this is that it’ll have to undergo probably 10 years of U.S. clinical trials, be sold and distributed via Big Pharma, and take forever to get to Americans at large. But how about that President Obama, opening up relations with Cuba? If anybody recalls the brouhaha that godawful Michael Moore kicked up about single payer and Cuba medicine, before ACA was passed, well, tell him to get lost from me - and probably President Obama. Just sayin’.

Too bad PBO’s term is in the fourth quarter. I’ll bet POTUS could get this to sick folks a lot faster than mostly anybody else. Of course if VPOTUS comes in, he will need good things to accomplish, too.

I agree they are sick. The need some feel to see PBO bested by someone displays the sad legacy of White supremacy in this country. The media and insecure opportunists will use every trick in the book to give racist whites that much sought after win over PBO, including blatant lies. This whole affair reminds me of how they lied to portray Syria giving up its wmd as a loss for PBO

The problem with the MSM is not that they’re dead, but that they’re alive, but now very biased and looking to create a skewed perception that benefits their favored political party.

This makes them VERY very dangerous, because they are no longer here to inform. They’re using their medium to INFLUENCE.

    This is big, I think.
The NTSB had 2 TWO!!!!! headlines, but the media is reporting only one of them.

What they are reporting is the speed of the train——106 mph on a curving road where the limit is 50 mph.

The headline the media is ignoring is that there is a system in existence on many Amtrack rails but not this one. In answer to a reporter’s question the NTSB person said that the safety system has been on the NTSB wish-list but Congress……………………..
Obviously Congress has been starving the public transportation system. The spokesman said that the proper system in place Absolutely would have avoided the accident.

As ye sow, so shall ye reap, never truer than right now.

Any Dem Candidate should make sure that this story is 1001% accurate….. then use the information to track how GOPers in PA, OH, WI, MI, etc voted and use the information to force a change by educating folks and demanding that those GOPers voted against the interest of the Public, Citizens and Nation.
Change ONLY comes when Our side makes the election about We The People.

Well, I admit I got played by the media. I have been up to my eyebrows in anti-TPP Dems for what seems like years. I had no time yesterday to check in here or read further. I saw the tagline from the New York Times in my email saying Dems had given a stinging rebuke to President Obama and I was so upset I just shut down the computer. I answered a post on the previous thread and I now wish I could retract my answer. My senator, Debbie Stabenow had been saying some anti-TPP things, which had just staggered me, and when I saw her email about her vote I assumed it was a bad one. Well, you know about people who assume. So I’m glad to hear that this was actually a good thing, but I am still disgusted by the behavior of Democrats insulting the president. This goes for several senators who just shocked me that they wouldn’t have faith in PBO and the mayor of Flint who is virulently against it despite all logic and facts. I live in Michigan and perhaps I’m hearing it more because the unions have spoken against it.

Six months and that 12 year old body is still not put to rest. How disgusting. What do you think that Rice family is going through? The police murder him and now you have his body still not buried. I want Fox and it’s supporters to explain to me how that 12 year old is responsible for his own death, Fox tell me how he got what he deserve. Go get some of those Black fox guests you usually dig up when you need one or two and let them attack that 12 year old, attack his Mother, his dad, his sister, attack the community. Have them tell us how Tamir Rice is to blame for being dead.

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/05/13/online-voter-registration_n_7274254.html#comments

Setting up online voter registration could lead to an easier, more accurate and more satisfying experience for voters at little cost, according to a brief from The Pew Charitable Trusts released Wednesday.

Pew surveyed the twenty states that offered online voter registration as of November 2014. Of those states, thirteen highlighted “voter satisfaction” and “reduced burdens on election officials” as benefits of an online registration program.

More states are working to authorize online voting registration ahead of the 2016 elections. New Mexico and Oklahoma both approved efforts authorizing online registration this year, and several other states are considering similar proposals. Florida Gov. Rick Scott (R) is currently considering a bill authorizing online voter registration in his state.

Telling Comment of Randy Abraham at the Peoples View

Thank you Churchlady, I felt the need to connect President Obama’s efforts with our nation’s long history of activism and intervention.

And that’s why the hysterics from Democrats over the TPP which led to the defeat today of fast-track authority was so stunning. But I see a broader dilemma related to Obama’s activism.

First, since the Republicans won control of the House in 2010, there has hardly been anything of legislative substance being passed, let alone discussed. Except for must-pass legislation on the budget and executive appointments, most activity revolves around dead-on-arrival stunts to repeal ACA, continual Benghazi and IRS hearings, etc.

So when something big comes along, it’s a Very Big Deal, and people are no longer accustomed to a functioning legislature.

And since his re-election, and increasingly with the Republican takeover of the Senate, Obama realizes the hopelessness of getting big things passed legislatively.

And so we also have executive orders on power-plant emissions and
immigration, a climate deal with China, an Iran nuke deal, outreach to Cuba, and an international trade deal involving 11 Asian-Pacific nations — all moving forward, and none of it moving through Congress.

Even though he is a lame duck, and with the opposing party
controlling Congress, Obama is still setting the agenda on the most
substantial issues of the day. To lawmakers jealous of their authority
and stature, this is disruptive, an affront, and an interruption of and
glaring counterpoint to their usual inaction.
