My most fervent prayer is that somehow we have a miracle and ACA is saved. I would love to see Trump gone, but with the GOP in charge of everything I think that is a far fetched idea. Ok saving ACA may be far fetched too. If we can take over the Senate in two years it might be more likely. Gotta get rid of gerrymandering, but that might not happen unless we have more Dem state governments which would draw up the lines. Otherwise the GOP keeps the House.

I remember seeing a man who just got insurance for the first time under Ocare saying he was voting for Trump eventhough since he got Ocare his medical condition improved. He just hoped that DT would not get rid of it…….well now he can die with many others who DID vote against DT. January 19th will be a day of prayer for me that we are in a world of hurt if this man and his VP becomes President. It really doesn’t matter because even if they impeach him or he steps down the GOP controls all 4 levels of the US Government. The voters F’d the country because they hated HRC more than they loved this country.

Just finished watching the Dateline NBC interview with PBO. It was pretty interesting and much more enjoyable than most. First time I’ve seen Lester Holt relate to President Obama as a fellow black man from Chicago. If you didn’t see it, it is worth checking out on their website.

I really don’t like talking about or questioning a person’s religion, but I work with a couple of guys that say that they are Christian. But for some reason they seem to hate Obamacare, now Obamacare is basically a way for the government to help those that can’t afford health insurance to obtain health insurance. But my question is how can you claim to be a Christian yet hate a program that is designed to help those that need help? My coworkers and I work for the government so basically our insurance is basically paid for, though we do pay a small premium which is almost embarrassing if you knew how much. Last year I paid a little over $300.00 a month for a health insurance plan for my family and I, and I’m talking about full coverage from soup to nuts. I’m not talking about a Cadillac Plan; I’m talking about a fucking Mercedes Benz Plan. This year my premium went up $10.00, $10.00 fucking dollars and these assholes that I work with complain about Obamacare. I just don’t understand, the government pays for our insurance and funds our retirement and we’re going to complain because the government is trying to help the less fortunate? I hope when these fuckers die and meet their god that they have a good excuse for not giving a fuck about poor people. Pardon my manners, good morning everyone.
You know I guess Christianity is just for white people. They just can’t accept that President Obama has a heart of gold and compassion deeper that the wide blue sea. That his heart has always been in selfless public service for the greater good.
Don, the other thing that gets me and that people are willfully and completely ignorant about is the fact that Obamacare is not just about subsidies. Repeal of the ACA means all the protections PBO put in place - no pre-ex conditions, no stop loss, keeping children covered by parents until age 26, lower drug costs and no donut hole for seniors, free basic exams, no gender discrimination, mental health coverage, 80/20 medical loss ratio so insurance companies spend our money on CARE, etc, etc etc - are going to affect EVERYBODY.

May I share MY adventure from last night? Went to Happy Hour with some girl friends and basically had a normal time, until the older gentleman that had his eye on my statuesque girlfriend came over to try to hit on her….he ended up sitting with our group, even when the said girlfriend’s BOYFRIEND came over and just moved himself to sit by me….Anyway, I guess I should say that I was in the far north reaches of Snotsdale….chock full of expensive, gated communities and exclusive golf courses ( which we were sitting on). We were having what seemed to be a normal conversation, when out of the blue his guy announces that he’s going to the Inauguration next week. O.M.G. I never shut my mouth, and this time was no exception. The look on everyone’s face when I informed them that the con man pussygrabber wasn’t and will never be my president was somewhere between dismay and surprise. The old guy tried to tell me that he would be the president for everyone and I just laughed at him….we were cordial, but in the end, I had to leave because I was going to get into a fullblown argument with a stranger that was in deep denial….might I also add that a woman and her guy friend also joined us by this time and my own friends had left me there with the denial twins….
The crux of what I understood them both to say is that it was HILLARY that had a huge conflict of interest, not dt….and evidently, the retired man couldn’t find the time to piece together the dots on dt’s relationship to Putin and Russia because he was AMAZED by my take on the situation!
The guy “hated” the campaign he ran ( but voted for him anyway) and the young woman sitting on the couch with us joined in the conversation and agreed that dt was a nasty piece of work, but she was a Republican, so, you know….party over country and own interests…and BENGAAAAAAAZI!!!! I wanted to choke her. I asked her if she realized that she had been manipulated over Bengazi and if she understood that SOS Clinton had asked for $$$ for embassy security but was refused by RW congress….didn’t matter. THEY ARE CRAZY. FACTS DON’T MATTER OR FACTOR INTO DECISION MAKING PROCESS.

Early Saturday morning, President-elect Donald Trump attacked the Georgia congressman and famed civil rights hero John Lewis for being “all talk, no action” and presiding over a “crime infested” district that’s “falling apart.”
The thinly veiled racial smear — essentially suggesting Lewis is a slumlord — came on the weekend of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, as the nation prepares to honor the civil rights leader with whom Lewis worked closely in the 1960s to advocate for racial and economic justice.
Trump’s assertion that Lewis is presiding over a failing and crime-ridden district is not true. The predominantly black district represented by Lewis includes very nice parts of Atlanta and its suburbs that can hardly be described as in “horrible shape.” Since 2009, crime has fallen by 30 percent in his district.
First thing I heard this morning … hoping for a huge backlash on this one. Even Trump can go too far. This is too far. He isn’t man enough to even say John Lewis’ name.

Just finished watching the Dateline NBC interview with PBO. It was pretty interesting and much more enjoyable than most. First time I’ve seen Lester Holt relate to President Obama as a fellow black man from Chicago. If you didn’t see it, it is worth checking out on their website.

He is going to try to fill them with a lot of shit and garbage. I hope that this cartoonist has a national platform because I really want the Deplorable One to see it. The artiststic communities are organizing against him and for the positive ideals that make up a democracy and human decency. They are planning to be relentless gadflies and if their efforts are joined by political action ( we must get people to run for every office), we can limit the fallout and even end this travesty sooner than later.
I really don’t like talking about or questioning a person’s religion, but I work with a couple of guys that say that they are Christian. But for some reason they seem to hate Obamacare, now Obamacare is basically a way for the government to help those that can’t afford health insurance to obtain health insurance. But my question is how can you claim to be a Christian yet hate a program that is designed to help those that need help? My coworkers and I work for the government so basically our insurance is basically paid for, though we do pay a small premium which is almost embarrassing if you knew how much. Last year I paid a little over $300.00 a month for a health insurance plan for my family and I, and I’m talking about full coverage from soup to nuts. I’m not talking about a Cadillac Plan; I’m talking about a fucking Mercedes Benz Plan. This year my premium went up $10.00, $10.00 fucking dollars and these assholes that I work with complain about Obamacare. I just don’t understand, the government pays for our insurance and funds our retirement and we’re going to complain because the government is trying to help the less fortunate? I hope when these fuckers die and meet their god that they have a good excuse for not giving a fuck about poor people. Pardon my manners, good morning everyone.
You know I guess Christianity is just for white people. They just can’t accept that President Obama has a heart of gold and compassion deeper that the wide blue sea. That his heart has always been in selfless public service for the greater good.
Don, the other thing that gets me and that people are willfully and completely ignorant about is the fact that Obamacare is not just about subsidies. Repeal of the ACA means all the protections PBO put in place - no pre-ex conditions, no stop loss, keeping children covered by parents until age 26, lower drug costs and no donut hole for seniors, free basic exams, no gender discrimination, mental health coverage, 80/20 medical loss ratio so insurance companies spend our money on CARE, etc, etc etc - are going to affect EVERYBODY.
Meta you are so right, if effects everything. I’m at a lost for words, I mean if you’re against Obamacare I don’t know how you sleep at night assuming you have an empathy gene.

May I share MY adventure from last night? Went to Happy Hour with some girl friends and basically had a normal time, until the older gentleman that had his eye on my statuesque girlfriend came over to try to hit on her….he ended up sitting with our group, even when the said girlfriend’s BOYFRIEND came over and just moved himself to sit by me….Anyway, I guess I should say that I was in the far north reaches of Snotsdale….chock full of expensive, gated communities and exclusive golf courses ( which we were sitting on). We were having what seemed to be a normal conversation, when out of the blue his guy announces that he’s going to the Inauguration next week. O.M.G. I never shut my mouth, and this time was no exception. The look on everyone’s face when I informed them that the con man pussygrabber wasn’t and will never be my president was somewhere between dismay and surprise. The old guy tried to tell me that he would be the president for everyone and I just laughed at him….we were cordial, but in the end, I had to leave because I was going to get into a fullblown argument with a stranger that was in deep denial….might I also add that a woman and her guy friend also joined us by this time and my own friends had left me there with the denial twins….
The crux of what I understood them both to say is that it was HILLARY that had a huge conflict of interest, not dt….and evidently, the retired man couldn’t find the time to piece together the dots on dt’s relationship to Putin and Russia because he was AMAZED by my take on the situation!
The guy “hated” the campaign he ran ( but voted for him anyway) and the young woman sitting on the couch with us joined in the conversation and agreed that dt was a nasty piece of work, but she was a Republican, so, you know….party over country and own interests…and BENGAAAAAAAZI!!!! I wanted to choke her. I asked her if she realized that she had been manipulated over Bengazi and if she understood that SOS Clinton had asked for $$$ for embassy security but was refused by RW congress….didn’t matter. THEY ARE CRAZY. FACTS DON’T MATTER OR FACTOR INTO DECISION MAKING PROCESS.
I had to leave at that point or I was going to kill 2 complete strangers. We have a long way to go….and I feel your pain, Don:)

When the problem hits them at home and they or a friend can’t get help from the government they are the first to complain.
I remember the saying of not talking about religion or politics. To me that was a justification for being dumb about what was important. I leave people to their religion, but am growing to hate people that make political decisions based on bad info, selfishness, or stubborn ways in choosing not to search out real facts. I am surrounded by people like whom you mentioned due to living in a rural area. That is why this blog calls to me.

I was so glad to see that man who told Paul Ryan that he was like all the other Republicans, he hated Obamacare, till at the age of 49 he got cancer and was given six months to live.If it wasn’t for Obamacare he would be dead, and right in Ryan’s face he Thank President Obama. But we know Ryan and his fellow Republicans don’t care. Do these so call christians get mad when they see the Health Insurance CEOs salaries? It’s like how can you claim to be a christian, but vote for a liar, a racists, sexists, someone with no character.
It’s not about healthcare, it’s about President Obama. They hate him and want to destroy his legacy.
Don I know someone just like this. He was fired but thank GOD was able to get Ocare and had the nerve to complain it was not “great”. I told him that if Ocare had not existed he would not be able to get ANY insurance based on his pre-existing condition. He has serious medical issues. I told him he would go bankrupt or have to sell his paid off house for medical care because that is what people did before Ocare. He of course changed the subject on the issue to complain about something else.
We will happily take back Kanye West if you take Steve Harvey off our hands.
Remember when Harvey dovetailed on some gig in the White House and there was a brief interaction with PBO? I remember thinking at the time that PBO was looking at him like, Dude, who are you……..

Early Saturday morning, President-elect Donald Trump attacked the Georgia congressman and famed civil rights hero John Lewis for being “all talk, no action” and presiding over a “crime infested” district that’s “falling apart.”
The thinly veiled racial smear — essentially suggesting Lewis is a slumlord — came on the weekend of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, as the nation prepares to honor the civil rights leader with whom Lewis worked closely in the 1960s to advocate for racial and economic justice.
Trump’s assertion that Lewis is presiding over a failing and crime-ridden district is not true. The predominantly black district represented by Lewis includes very nice parts of Atlanta and its suburbs that can hardly be described as in “horrible shape.” Since 2009, crime has fallen by 30 percent in his district.
But Putin can interfere in the United States election and Trump has nothing to say about him. Why is that?
I think we know why that is.
First thing I heard this morning … hoping for a huge backlash on this one. Even Trump can go too far. This is too far. He isn’t man enough to even say John Lewis’ name.

He is done, it may take awhile but I do not believe he can survive the revelations that are now coming out, and he makes it worse for himself daily. I only pray he takes the entire Republican party down with him. The “lipstick on a pig” mantra keeps running through my head. He may get the title and trappings for awhile starting Friday but he will remain a pig.

Steve Harvey is just the latest example, and I am sick and tired of black folk continuing to genuflect and prostrate in the lobby of Trump Tower. John Lewis himself, an icon in the civil rights movement has said he isn’t going to the inauguration and these hat in hand negroes continue to run their asses down to Trump tower begging for an audience with Trump. I try my best to keep a civil tone, I really do, but when I see black people begging for someone like Trump to like them it pisses me off to no end, it makes my blood boil.
