She could set her own hours and work as much as she wanted to. Then that would be some part time income while she did school. Nice to see that my very expensive education comes in handy sometimes.

Great plan LL. I have been a home care nurse for many many years and thoroughly enjoy it. It is true you can set your own hours and days of availability. It will help her also knowledge wise when she enters school. Just a great profession, helping people is very rewarding!
Indeed, as a private duty home health worker, not an RN, when I am fit and able to work. I am self-employed, and do very well. I did work with an agency for 2 years, while I built my own client base. I would not care to do agency work again.
WASHINGTON — Independent Rhode Island Gov. Lincoln Chafee (CHAY’-fee) is joining the Democratic Party ahead of his bid for a second term.
The former Republican U.S. senator left the GOP in 2007 and was elected as the nation’s only independent governor in 2010.
Two Democratic sources say Chafee plans to change his party registration to join the party.
Chafee has been saying for months that he was thinking about the switch, noting that he shares many positions with Democrats and that joining the party will help with fundraising.
He is a supporter of President Barack Obama and spoke at last year’s Democratic National Convention.

RENO, Nev. (AP) — A former Nevada powerbroker has been convicted of making illegal campaign contributions to Sen. Harry Reid.
A federal jury reached its verdict Wednesday in the case against real estate developer and once powerful lobbyist Harvey Whittemore.
The federal jury returned unanimous guilty verdicts on charges of making excessive campaign contributions, making contributions in the name of another and causing a false statement to be made to the Federal Election Commission.
The jury was deadlocked on a fourth charge of making a false statement to the FBI.
Prosecutors say Whittemore gave money to family members and employees in 2007 to make contributions he had promised to Reid while concealing himself as the true source to skirt campaign finance laws.
Reid has not been accused of any wrongdoing and did not testify during the trial.

“Libertarian” Koch brothers take tens of millions in subsidies. File this under Your Tax Dollars at Work:
Flagship Koch Industries has taken over $16.5 million in subsidies from 11 different awards, none of which are sales tax breaks (which generally are not subsidies).
Subsidiary Georgia Pacific has received 72 subsidies worth over $43.9 million (none of these were sales tax breaks).
At a minimum, the brothers’ total subsidies came in at $73.1 million
This is a great question. If PBO had signed the bill with DADT attached, deregulated the banks and other stuff from the Clinton administration, the Clinton supporters would never let up. A prime example is all of the whining when PBO did not issue an executive order to repeal DADT. PBO and FLOTUS are definitely held to different standards. I am so happy that they just let all of the crap roll of their backs and keep pushing forward.
This infuriates me. Barely a peep when Clinton’s deal-with-the-devil Phil Gramm led to the economic collapse; the telecom bill that allowed Murdoch to buy our media, and opened the door for the Koch Bros. to do the same; destruction of welfare in the name of ‘reform’. Rallying to his defense when he and he alone showed stunning lack of judgment, knowing the Repubs were out to get him, thereby ushering in W.
But PBO does everything right that is within his power and they bitch. I will never forgive Jonathan Capehart bitching that DADT wasn’t good enough or soon enough. And the damage they did concerning ACA, when apparently it was okay for Bill Clinton’s bank deregulation bill to tank the economy and not okay that PBO was unable to give them free health care in some utopian left wing fantasy.
This myth that Hillary is going to be some progressive lion is annoying as hell. The Clintons are only progressive on the campaign trail and yet live very comfortably in right-of-center world when it comes to governing.
Hillary could do good things in the presidency and I would hope for her election if she was the nominee in 2016, but yeah, the Clintons are more cosy with the corporate establishment. And Hillary has always been less confrontational with the military-industrial complex. She’s more hawkish than the president.
Barack Obama is the more liberal president America has seen in a long long time. He’s just patient, and understands that an incremental approach with RESULTS is better than liberal rhetoric WITHOUT results.
I will support her without question if she is the nominee. I will do a great deal to elect her. I am in this for the long haul and I will fight like hell to elect more and better Democrats every chance I get.
I will not love Hillary the way I love PBO. I was appalled at her campaign in 2008. But I don’t need to fall in love in order to work as hard as I can to return my country to its reverence for law and its progressive ideals. Don’t need to be in love - just need to be engaged and vote and get others to vote. In this - and only this - I am like a Republican.
I think I was the only one that was livid with the Clintons worshipping that is going on. Chris Matthews is one of the greatest offenders in this regard the constant comparison between President Obama and Bill Clinton drives me damn crazy. Take for example the speech the President made about national security recently Matthews had to went into it was clintoneques mumbo jumbo after as if the President is not able to think for himself or articulate his point of views his own way. President Obama has done so much since he has taken office but these so call liberals would want those who didn’t know better to believe differently. Screw them
You are not alone. That being said, I’ll help Hillary get elected if she’s the nominee because I will never ever be complacent about elections in this country ever again. We are in dangerous times and must do the best we can to keep Democrats in power. I don’t need to be in love, I just need to keep the wolf at bay.
I would like to see the Clintons show some grace and become the elder statesmen that they can be. These dynasties are unseemly. But after 2008, I expect no grace and there is no way Hillary could resist the temptation of the flood of worship she is enjoying. There is no way Hillary won’t run, and frankly I’d like to see a rather calm primary season so we can beat whatever nut job they put up against our nominee.
The ad ends with a quote from Obama, where he seems to admit to punishing opponents of his administration: “We’re going to punish our enemies, and we’re going to reward our friends.” But this is an out-of-context quote, pulled from a comment made more than two years ago in an interview with Univision radio. “If Latinos sit out the election instead of, ‘we’re going to punish our enemies and we’re going to reward our friends who stand with us on issues that are important to us’ — if they don’t see that kind of upsurge in voting in this election, then I think it’s going to be harder,” Obama said in that interview. McConnell’s use of the quote is the dishonest capstone to an intensely dishonest piece of political rhetoric.
Two things to keep in mind here. The first is that McConnell’s dishonesty is simply breathtaking. Obama was paraphrasing the strategic thinking of Latino voters, not saying that he, himself, intends to punish his enemies and reward his friends.
The second is that there’s a remarkable pattern of these out-of-context attacks:

Annieballa, in the 1980’s the Japanese bought Rockefeller Center and Pebble Beach Golf Course at the top of the then real estate market. After the market crashed Americans repurchased the properties at lower prices. The owners cannot take the assets to their home country and jobs are not lost overseas. This type of investment works out in our international investment world. It is positive they are investing their money here.

RENO, Nev. (AP) — A former Nevada powerbroker has been convicted of making illegal campaign contributions to Sen. Harry Reid.
A federal jury reached its verdict Wednesday in the case against real estate developer and once powerful lobbyist Harvey Whittemore.
The federal jury returned unanimous guilty verdicts on charges of making excessive campaign contributions, making contributions in the name of another and causing a false statement to be made to the Federal Election Commission.
The jury was deadlocked on a fourth charge of making a false statement to the FBI.
Prosecutors say Whittemore gave money to family members and employees in 2007 to make contributions he had promised to Reid while concealing himself as the true source to skirt campaign finance laws.
Reid has not been accused of any wrongdoing and did not testify during the trial.

Subsidiary Georgia Pacific has received 72 subsidies worth over $43.9 million (none of these were sales tax breaks).

This is a great question. If PBO had signed the bill with DADT attached, deregulated the banks and other stuff from the Clinton administration, the Clinton supporters would never let up. A prime example is all of the whining when PBO did not issue an executive order to repeal DADT. PBO and FLOTUS are definitely held to different standards. I am so happy that they just let all of the crap roll of their backs and keep pushing forward.

This infuriates me. Barely a peep when Clinton’s deal-with-the-devil Phil Gramm led to the economic collapse; the telecom bill that allowed Murdoch to buy our media, and opened the door for the Koch Bros. to do the same; destruction of welfare in the name of ‘reform’. Rallying to his defense when he and he alone showed stunning lack of judgment, knowing the Repubs were out to get him, thereby ushering in W.
But PBO does everything right that is within his power and they bitch. I will never forgive Jonathan Capehart bitching that DADT wasn’t good enough or soon enough. And the damage they did concerning ACA, when apparently it was okay for Bill Clinton’s bank deregulation bill to tank the economy and not okay that PBO was unable to give them free health care in some utopian left wing fantasy.
This myth that Hillary is going to be some progressive lion is annoying as hell. The Clintons are only progressive on the campaign trail and yet live very comfortably in right-of-center world when it comes to governing.

Hillary could do good things in the presidency and I would hope for her election if she was the nominee in 2016, but yeah, the Clintons are more cosy with the corporate establishment. And Hillary has always been less confrontational with the military-industrial complex. She’s more hawkish than the president.
Barack Obama is the more liberal president America has seen in a long long time. He’s just patient, and understands that an incremental approach with RESULTS is better than liberal rhetoric WITHOUT results.
I will support her without question if she is the nominee. I will do a great deal to elect her. I am in this for the long haul and I will fight like hell to elect more and better Democrats every chance I get.
I will not love Hillary the way I love PBO. I was appalled at her campaign in 2008. But I don’t need to fall in love in order to work as hard as I can to return my country to its reverence for law and its progressive ideals. Don’t need to be in love - just need to be engaged and vote and get others to vote. In this - and only this - I am like a Republican.
I think I was the only one that was livid with the Clintons worshipping that is going on. Chris Matthews is one of the greatest offenders in this regard the constant comparison between President Obama and Bill Clinton drives me damn crazy. Take for example the speech the President made about national security recently Matthews had to went into it was clintoneques mumbo jumbo after as if the President is not able to think for himself or articulate his point of views his own way. President Obama has done so much since he has taken office but these so call liberals would want those who didn’t know better to believe differently. Screw them
You are not alone. That being said, I’ll help Hillary get elected if she’s the nominee because I will never ever be complacent about elections in this country ever again. We are in dangerous times and must do the best we can to keep Democrats in power. I don’t need to be in love, I just need to keep the wolf at bay.
I would like to see the Clintons show some grace and become the elder statesmen that they can be. These dynasties are unseemly. But after 2008, I expect no grace and there is no way Hillary could resist the temptation of the flood of worship she is enjoying. There is no way Hillary won’t run, and frankly I’d like to see a rather calm primary season so we can beat whatever nut job they put up against our nominee.

Fear leads to McConnell’s mendacity

Jamelle Bouie caught the deception:
The ad ends with a quote from Obama, where he seems to admit to punishing opponents of his administration: “We’re going to punish our enemies, and we’re going to reward our friends.” But this is an out-of-context quote, pulled from a comment made more than two years ago in an interview with Univision radio. “If Latinos sit out the election instead of, ‘we’re going to punish our enemies and we’re going to reward our friends who stand with us on issues that are important to us’ — if they don’t see that kind of upsurge in voting in this election, then I think it’s going to be harder,” Obama said in that interview. McConnell’s use of the quote is the dishonest capstone to an intensely dishonest piece of political rhetoric.
Two things to keep in mind here. The first is that McConnell’s dishonesty is simply breathtaking. Obama was paraphrasing the strategic thinking of Latino voters, not saying that he, himself, intends to punish his enemies and reward his friends.
The second is that there’s a remarkable pattern of these out-of-context attacks:

NEW YORK — Associated Press president and chief executive Gary Pruitt told staff at a Wednesday town hall meeting that the phone records obtained by the government included “thousands and thousands” of calls in and out of the news organization, according to a staffer who attended.
The AP revealed on May 13 that the Justice Department had seized records for 20 separate phone lines over a two-month period as part of a leak investigation, but has not mentioned how many calls may have been affected.
Pruitt said Wednesday that the Obama administration acted as “judge, jury and executioner” in secretly obtaining the news organization’s records, a criticism he also leveled in a recent appearance on CBS’ “Face the Nation.”
During the town hall, Pruitt reiterated that the AP did not report on a CIA-thwarted terrorist plot in May 2012 out of national security concerns until sources indicated the Obama administration was going to announce it publicly.

At the end of 2012, the 112th Congress went down in history as the most unproductive ever. During 2011-2012, Congress passed a mere 283 laws - fewer than a third of the more than 900 laws passed by the “do-nothing Congress” derided by President Harry S Truman in 1948.
The current Congress, however, is already on track to shatter the dubious record set by its predecessor.

In the meantime, the lack of legislative progress hasn’t stymied legislative activity. Lawmakers in the current Congress have already introduced 3,093 bills, while members of the last Congress sponsored 10,437 pieces of legislation. Many members now also engage in a 24/7 sideshow of hearings, town halls, tweets and gigs on Fox and MSNBC.
But for all this sound and fury, Congress, increasingly, is signifying nothing.

I was so glad the kids got the chance to see POTUS and shake his hand. The kids seem to have a wonderful day with FLOTUS in the garden, and eating pizza, and seeing POTUS. A day they will never forget. With all the B.S. from the Republicans and media, it’s nice to see these events like this from the Obamas, special moments.
