Good Night!
Seems like I entered at the right time for a quick visit.
Seems you Did! ;)
Hi there, MP! Nice positive note on which to end the night! ;)
Yes!
Good times. His grandmother and grandfather must have meant so much to him. All those good memories sustain him now.
Nothing like having a good grandmother and grandfather in your life! Ask me! My two maternal grandparents died in 1956 and 1970, respectively, and I’m still thinking about them. They’re part of the “comfort food” of my life, and I’m a great grandmother myself. So, yes, I’m thinking our President is sustained by his good memories of his, every day.
So true…my grandmothers words of wisdom are planted permanately in my heart and thoughts. Young Barack looks so much like his grandpa. Put the picture from earlier post and this one side by side and you see it.
Yes he does! :)
Yes, I bet you are a *great* grandmother and great grand mother! My grandparents all died before I was born (one of my grandmothers in the ‘flu epidemic of 1918 and one grandfather early in the year I was born). I always felt the lack.
So sorry for that history, and that you never spent time with them. I never knew my paternal grandparents, and - to this day - wish I had!
Mr. Amk? This is for you. You said you wanted to see Beyoncé.
Good lawd…..the body on this woman! Gorgeous.
Do we men swoon? … Nah, we don’t. (Thud)
Off to the naughty mat!
I think Beyonce is like the icing on everyone’s cake. She is just so beautiful and emits such positive energy!
No color lines…only Love
Love it.
I love this photo. We have been turning the TV back and forth between the Pro Bowl and the Grammy’s. Been a great evening. My husband has loved the new format for the Pro Bowl.
Beyonce - yikes. Hard to believe she had a baby not that long ago! She is multi-talented!
Birthday weekend drawing to a close. We put our daughter back on the Bolt Bus to Seattle. Sure was nice while it lasted. Now to lose the # from all the celebrating!
The only bad thing I can say about being Medicare age is the slowing down of me. Have a great rest of your birthday.
Thank you, mtmarilyn! We have to keep moving - FORWARD!
Sorry I missed your birthday - glad it was a happy one, Judith!
Belated happy birthday Judith - glad the celebrations went well :)
Happy Birthday - hope it is still ok in west coast time ?
Tunisia assembly passes new constitution.
Tunisia’s parliament has adopted a new constitution - the first since the ousting of President Zine el-Abidine Ben Ali three years ago.
The National Constituent Assembly passed the text by 200 votes from 216.
Analysts say politicians hope it will send out a message of stability after months of deadlock between Islamist and secular forces.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister-designate Mehdi Jomaa says he has formed a new caretaker government.
The cabinet consists mainly of independents and technocrats, and is expected to run the country until new elections. No date has been set for the polls.

What’s with the kid in the background, with a stick? And, yeah, hard to believe that Beyoncé actually looks like that…
that’s foreshadowing… probably a republican child :)
Good evening, all. Asking for prayers from my TOD fam. Lost a cousin this morning and a friend tonight; while both were terminally ill, loss is never easy.
I’m down with pneumonia, which is not good due to other chronic illness. The flip side, the steroids have me eating like a horse…
Prayers to you and your family. Get well.

Middle-aged PBO looks just like Grandpa Dunham!
Yes, and same shaped head and ears…..never noticed before……this picture shows the strong similarities.
Have always loved this picture. The two of them look SO happy!
That was my first thought too hopefruit!
Yes. PBO and Malia both have the Dunham jaw. I think you call it the jaw. I mean the lower part of the grandfathers face.
Goodnight TOD, sweet dreams all around. Those in the cold areas, remember a hot water bottle is a lovely way to fall aslumber! Everyone, take good care.
G’nite Mighty P. Sleep tite. Don’t let Rand Paul bite!
Sweet Dreams to you too, MP! Rest well (with or without the hot water bottle).
They do not age. They need to share with us the location of the fountain of youth, ASAP.
I’m late to this was watching the Pro-Bowl, but………….
The Grammys froze in place on my cable system about a half hour ago — every other channel is fine — no message from the station; just a freeze frame. Not sure why the current wind storm we’re having would just take out one channel, but damn, maybe it did. I never even watch that awards show, but found it very enjoyable earlier tonight. Sorry to be grumpy!
Early to bed and late to rise and all that for me, sounds of a gusting wind in my ears!
Thank you NW for all that you do for this beautiful haven. Your brilliant mind is so appreciative by me. I love how all of the wonderful minds roll up their sleeves and work so beautifully with our beautiful Chips. Thanks so much.
Judith, I hope your birthday celebrations were wonderful. Enjoy.
(((((((((((( Hugs of love to you, Dudette)))))))))))))
Alycee, (((((((((((((((((( Peace and comfort to you during this time))))))))))))))))))))))). Please take good care of yourself and get some rest as well.
I come in and try to catch up on what is happening when my eyes allow me to read without so much pain. I have trouble with severe dry eyes, so I must stop and get in a dark room and get some shut eyes after applying the medical drops. I will be fine.
Let us always remember what our Bobfr say to us: ” FORWARDTogether”
Keep President Obama in your goodness space with loving meditative prayers for Tues., night. He will need our energy as well.
(((((((((Hugs to my Danny)))))))))HZ
Thank you, HZ. You truly are a wonderful soul.
so little randy paul, can’t wait to talk about big bubba’s big trubble-oh, and snarksnark hillary. she hasn’t declared she’s running for anything, but he’s declaring that he is an idiot and a loser. just starting, folks.
‘[Sleep is] the golden chain that ties health and our bodies together.’ ~Thomas Dekker
I’m going to try and get some sleep! Au revoir, TODobots!
Question for the ages, Tally.
It is still sinking in that the full force of US Corporate broadcast and cable media are going to given an unambiguous display of the disintegration of the GOP - with President Obama’s SOTU as the catalyst. I assure you countless Master Theses & Doctoral Dissertations (in disciplines ranging from History to Political Science to Psychology to …) will be inspired by this unprecedented event in American political history.
Well done, Barack Obama, very well done, Mr President!!!
#FORWARD Together
…. time for some rest … take good care TOD …..
Sinking 3 “would be kings” rather than 1 - Barack really has them running scared.
Hi 99!
Hi 99!
Hi FayPax - sorry I missed you
And then I read Snowden is upset because the US admin doesn’t welcome him home with open arms - what was he expecting! Guy is a fool as well as a traitor - most guys that flee to Russia realize they won’t have a warm welcome back home - guess he believed GG - the other guy who decided to live somewhere outside the US.
Heading out for dinner after visiting with grandbabe - sometimes life is really good. Back in your am :)

To me the Africa comparison is apples to oranges since Africa, a continent is being compared to countries instead of comparing it to another continent.
Some Republicans Departing From Response Script
By JEREMY W. PETERS
JAN. 26, 2014
WASHINGTON — The protocol is staid and formulaic. The president addresses Congress on the State of the Union, then the opposition party’s designee follows with a reply.
The choreography is tight, predictable and usually forgettable.
Not this year. The response, a once careful attempt at stagecraft fashioned under the close watch of party chiefs to be as uniform and on message as possible, has given way to political free agency.
The shift speaks volumes about politics today: the value placed on the individual brand over the larger organization, and the way social media and technology have torn down barriers to fame and influence.
………………………………
“There is no clear leadership in the Republican Party right now, no clear direction or message, and no way to enforce discipline,” said Mark McKinnon, a veteran Republican strategist who has become an outspoken critic of his party. “And because there’s a vacuum, and no shortage of cameras, there are plenty of actors happy to audition.”

GOP is Anti-Voting
by BooMan
Sun Jan 26th, 2014 at 11:11:31 AM EST
Tucker Carlson is concerned that some states are allowing 17 year olds to pre-register to vote and participate in party primaries if they will be 18 on election day. His argument is that 17 year olds are too immature to successfully order food at a restaurant, so they must be too stupid for their political opinions to be worthy of consideration.
However, Campus Reform reporter Katherine Timpf reassured him that some young people are disappointed in Barack Obama’s presidency and might actually vote for Republicans. This is the crux of the matter. Republicans oppose voter participation by any group who they think will not support them, while Democrats support the broadest voter participation possible.
