Happy Easter TOD!
Happy Easter &/or Passover, TOD!
Congratulations, Grab a Mop Grace on first.
Thank you sjterrid..
I was so surprised when it said leave a comment on this thread. I figured I’d wish everybody here a Happy Easter, and then read the Rise and Shine thread, and the posts I missed yesterday.
Brava, NW, and Happy Easter.
Thank you, Jackie. Happy Easter to you too.
Such uplifting message on an Easter Sunday, NW. Thank you!!
Thanks, Bob.
Now I’m getting all tearful again, what wonderful real life evidence of how wonderful Obamacare is.
Thank you Nerdy, SOOOOOOOO much!
Thanks, Chips.
Millions of lives changed because President Obama decided it was the right thing to do even when others were telling him to leave it for another day because it would ruin his political capital.
It makes me so happy.
Love this post, Nerdy W! Yay!!!
Thanks, Dudette.
I love these posts. I love you sharing these stories from around the country.
Glad you liked them.
I want EVERYONE to read the Sam Stein tweet that references GOP Kevin McCarthy’s tear-down of ACA.
Can SOMEONE tell me why Dem’s can’t be that thorough and that simplistic in selling policy? The GOP is full of GENIUSES at framing their lies. Why can’t we be equally effective selling TRUTH?
NOT blaming PBO. Blaming a Democratic Party that thinks calling them ‘loons’ is a winning message, while GOP corrals the airwaves and knows how to structure soundbite after soundbite.
Debbie Wasserman-Schultz is not as bad as previous DNC chairs but nowhere near as effective as we should be at robustly selling our message.
Hire George Lakoff, for God’s sake and save our country! We can’t do it alone, tweet by tweet, like TOD tries to do - we need a party infrastructure that ‘gets it’ and is doing part of the heavy lift.
THIS x 100,000!!!!!! ….or more! I was thinking this exact thing earlier today……thinking about how they have had Frank Luntz for years and how very effective the two, three or four word soundbites he gives them are……every time…….regardless of the subject. We have no one to do that. Makes me so angry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
On a more upbeat note: Happy and Blessed Easter to all at TOD….and your loved ones.
At our four contemporary services this morning, the praise and worship teams did “Happy.” All congregations went crazy! It was just wonderful!!!!!!!!!!

So these right wingers do support welfare, it just depends on who is getting the welfare.
Exactly.
first world problems : trying to complete a project proposal on Easter Sunday before deadline ;
;
immigrant’s paradox :
- having to convince your sick and elderly parents (overseas) that you have the Easter Sunday meal all figured out ;
- while at the first opportunity quietly whispering to your many siblings (already overfed by said parents) that you really have no concrete food plan and are focused on beating the proposal deadline;
- knowing all along that said siblings will not tell the parents the truth because they don’t want them to start worrying;
okay, back to work - will go to confession later

It took 70 days or so for Dr Chu and his Friends in the Scientific world to finally help seal the leaks of millions Barrels of Oil that came up from about 5000 feet down.
I am amazed at how folks accept this & re-elect the GOP - 90% of the people in the state are workers - or would be workers.

Happy Easter All!!
I don’t watch MTP. Did Todd really say this?
It was David Brooks who used the term “manhood” but prior to the word being used, Chuck Todd implied President Obama was weak when it came to Asia-Pacific relations.

Trust me, both these motherfuckers whenever they see a black man walking down the street they will quickly walk across the street to avoid even looking a black man in his eyes. I know these type of motherfuckers personally, they talk big shit, but usually they will piss their pants than rather deal with a black man one on one.
you have to wonder why these men are so concerned about the manhood of the Blk Man in the White House…it is ALWAYS so personal for them…they are so intimidated by President Barack Obama…it ooooooozes from them…always comparing manhoods…so afraid that they will be lacking….

EVERYONE HAS TO TAKE THIS FUN QUIZ.
This was my result and it fits me to a T. LOL: You checked off 31 out of 65 on this list!: You hate people. It’s true. But you haven’t totally given up faith in humanity and that’s impressive. You still have a little more hate left in you to give. Treasure that hate and save it for a special occasion.
Here is the quiz: How Much Do You Hate People?
http://www.buzzfeed.com/joannaborns/how-much-do-you-hate-people
I’m a moderate people hater (checked 20 out of 65)
Me too…13/65
It is actually not people that I hate but rather behavior
Bingo!
That’s what I had, too.
I had 8 out of 65….omg! I’m a “people person!” Been outside working like a dog in the yard today, so I haven’t been around much. Hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday…If you celebrate Easter, hope it was wonderful. If not, hope your day is equally fabulous:) Debating whether I want to get in the car and run a couple errands…I ache from all the yardwork this morning….I could EASILY talk myself out of anything right now and take a nap….
Had a friend repeat that crap to me just yesterday. I think I ruined her day (and maybe our friendship) with my response. Oh well. :-)
People like that have no place in my life. Tee. Hee.
Delurking for one comment about how much ” manhood” David Brooks has……very Macho David……
David Brooks: A Republican senator put ‘his hand on my inner thigh’ for a ‘whole’ dinner party.
BROOKS: You know, all three of us spend a lot of time covering politicians and I don’t know about you guys, but in my view, they’re all emotional freaks of one sort or another. They’re guaranteed to invade your personal space, touch you. I sat next to a Republican senator once at dinner and he had his hand on my inner thigh the whole time. I was like, ehh, get me out of here.
http://thinkprogress.org/politics/2009/07/10/50226/brooks-republican-senator-thigh/
Sounds like he is a girly man to me…..
Some guy has his hand on Brooks’ inner thigh the whole evening and the best he can do is hope that someone comes along and rescues him?
Whyyyyyyyyyyy ohhhhhh Whyyyy…would he tell someone about this….there are some things best left unsaid….they just cannot help themselves,,,,,
And he didn’t call him out there and then!!!!
This is AWESOME!
Right use of the energy form we call Money.
ANOTHER FUN QUIZ FOR EVERYONE!
Result: You got: Mindy Kaling: You and your friends are hilarious together. So hilarious that you actually feel bad for the people who don’t get to partake. You’re incredibly obnoxious when you’re all in the same room, which maybe you would feel self-conscious about if you weren’t having SO MUCH FUN.

Bahahahahahahaha…..oh, King Joffrey. This year truly is not your year.
Oh no he didn’t!
Fun quiz from NW: 20 out of 65. I sort of hate people. Sometimes. :)
New post.
http://theobamadiary.com/2014/04/20/the-first-family-celebrates-easter/
So I walked in this evening just in time to catch some of ABC’s World News - and they were having a report on Easter celebrations in the US and in various parts of the world (e.g., Pope/Italy;, Greece). I was (not really) surprised to see that they never once mentioned or showed our First Family, although they devoted an entire segment to the Royal Family spending their Easter in Australia, with excessive fawning over the baby “Prince George” who was just doing what babies do.
It appears that the media cannot report on the President/First Family unless they can find something negative or snarky or controversial to add to the report - and it would seem out of place if they added snark and negativity to the Obamas while fawning and oohing and aahing over the other subjects. In addition, I guess to show PBO’s confident & very MASCULINE GQ image in that brown suit would be just too much after they spent the entire day attacking his manhood….

Always amazing hf that the US - who threw out royalty quite a few years ago - fawn all over them in current times.
“The pushback against voting restrictions doesn’t stop there. Ohio and Illinois both may ask voters to consider changing their state constitutions to establish an affirmative right to vote. The Democratic National Committee has established a new project to register voters and advocate for expansive voting laws. And progressive movements from North Carolina to Mississippi to Texas are running their own registration and education efforts.”
