Local news in SoCal is that Kevin McCarthy (from CA Central Valley) is fav to succeed Cantor.

Would be interesting choice. Just how RWNJ crazy can a GOPer from true-blue CA go?

If immigration is an issue, where will that leave McCarthy? The nation’s premier agricultural area (think: almonds, raisins, just about everything else) could not survive without cheap, exploited laborers.

Patience is one of President Obama’s greatest strengths, I guarantee you that he has sat alone and with his team and figured out the right way forward on Iraq. I’m very eager to hear his plans on Iraq

I will see her Saturday and ask if this has happened there too. I know there was an incident in the Savannah Target recently.

I also want to know what the word is from the higher ups on how to handle it.

My wife and I were talking the same thing just the other day, these gun nuts are nothing but guys that didn’t receive the proper attention when they were growing up. There sheer idiocy of walking around a department store with a rifle strapped to your ass.

    • 31 Cindy
      June 19, 2014 at 1:06 pm

One can only imagine what would happen, if one of these happy go lucky gun toting fools, entered the store on a day that they were in a bad mood. God helps the person who looks at them in the wrong way or say something to them about those weapons around kids.

      Mass Destructing Indeed…….

Republican Senators “Blame” Harry Reid For The Rescue of POW Bowe Bergdahl

In a letter led by Sen. David Vitter (R-La.), the senators rebuke Reid for not allowing Republicans to vote on an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act for 2014 that would have expressly barred Obama from transferring prisoners from the Guantánamo Bay detention center.

“Because of your actions, members were not able to get a straightforward, focused vote on barring the transfer of Guantanamo detainees,” the senators wrote. “The end result was that the bill only contained a reporting provision (which the president broke) and not a strict prohibition on transfer of detainees as was previous law.”

Republican Sens. John Cornyn (Texas), Ted Cruz (Texas), Johnny Isakson (Ga.), Mike Lee (Utah), John Thune (S.D.), Roger Wicker (Miss.) and Mike Enzi (Wyo.) also signed the letter.

msnbc is live streaming the “policy conference” by “prominent republicans”.. Cruz, Rubio, etc. Never do I see them livestream POTUS or FLOTUS or VPOTUS.. I don’t believe they even streamed POTUS visit/speech to ND last week. This is why I gave up on the media. They are worthless and they are republicans.

I don’t typically watch soccer, but it’s been on here at work. I caught the end of the Columbia vs Ivory Coast game. It was possibly the best 30 minutes of soccer that I have ever watched. 3 goals in about 20 minutes of play!

Usually my philosophy is: If I want to watch men struggle for 90 minutes to score, I’ll take my friends to a bar.

Ukraine Is Far More Unified Than One Might Expect Given The Media Coverage
    15:26 (GMT)

Emmet Tuohy is a research fellow at the International Centre for Defence Studies in Tallinn, Estonia, writes that despite the violence in the east and the narrative that bitter partisanship, or even ethnic tension, is growing in Ukraine, if one dives into the facts in the streets and the polls taken recently one would find that the country is not really divided at all ….

Seems to me not ONE of the #WHpresscorps members who ask questions ever bring any ‘knowledge’ to the table! They are always asking questions from a frame that reveals they do not retain any info from one day to the next or one question to the next. God, it would frustrate me to have to deal with that time after time! It’s like trying to teach a sieve!

Of course, PBO was an excellent lecturer/professor/teacher today. His calm, patiend, informed and informative approach was ….superb, IMO!
