Judith’s ticket, signed by the VP

****

Judith: “I’ve attached my speech so you know what I said today to merit a hug and kiss from V.P. Joe Biden. It was lovely to have the opportunity to tell him about his ardent fan club at The Obama Diary. He signed my ticket!!”

“We know actions taken by volunteers to register voters and get them to exercise their precious right to vote make a critical difference.

Holding house parties and neighborhood events to raise many small dollar donations will beat the Koch Brothers’ and Karl Rove’s dark money Super Pacs like it did in Jeff Merkley’s first Senate race and in electing and re-electing Obama/Biden.

We need to give them a Congress that will work with them to pass progressive legislation instead of throwing a monkey wrench into the gears of government.

Don’t ride the roller coaster of polls or be depressed by the mainstream media focus on every bit of dismal news.

Don’t boo: VOTE!

Oregon ballots drop on October 15th. We must ramp up our efforts NOW. Before you leave today, pledge to speak to every 18-30 year old in your family circle to make sure they are registered at their current Oregon address by October 14th.

Throw a Voter’s Guide party to discuss the critical importance of voting for Democrats up and down the ticket and collecting a few donations for GOTV.

Sign up for a shift of calling our target voters from one of the campaign offices and/or knocking on doors of people we need to vote.

Together, we will give Jeff Merkley the biggest margin of victory ever and send him back to the Senate to do the people’s, not the corporations’ work.

THANK YOU!”

    Congratulations vetivera 24!
So we meet again……..it is damp and raining here in NYC.
There will be no walk in Central Park today. Back to bed with a cup of green tea and dram about breakfast.
Thank you all for a great week here at TOD.

POB and FLOTUS are working so hard for us. I am so proud of them and I truly appreciate having them as my POTUS and FLOTUS.
    Have a great weekend everyone!

I was just watching msnbc… And the guy for the ny times says that republicans will do better than the six seats that they need, to regain control if the senate.
He points to Colorado, saying Udall isn’t running a good campaign and will not get the needed indes to win.
Then, he said it’s bc republicans have a +6 Voter ID advantage in the state???

    +6?
    +6??
    +6???

    Wtf is he talking about?

Yup. But KornHacky didn’t push back he just said oh ok great.
        Bye bye.
        Lol.
In florida, Crist finally took the gloves off. You know he came to visit in the Tampa office.
And we all told him that Scott has a lot of weaknesses and that he should go negative.
He did ! And is now winning! :)

KornHacky is a Libertarian Hack so he’s only too happy to have his GOPer friends on his show attacking Dems and PBO with lies.

So many dittos to that…ad infinitum! Sick of listening to every problem in the world heaved onto President Obama’s shoulders. I’m watching old reruns of Law and Order now to keep my sanity. And those Dems who back away from the President’s incredible record are cowardly to say the least. One great disappointment to me is listening to Leon Panetta blame the President for making a sound call. So uncharacteristic of Panetta. His luster is now gone. He joins the ranks of the pathetic whiners who “time their whines” to disrupt whatever good they can. Obviously stayed too long at the dance.

A bunch of Cardinals got together with the Pope and decided that they wanted to have a golf game against the other religions. The only problem was that none of the cardinals were very good golfers.

One Cardninal turned to the Pope and suggested, “We could get Tiger Woods and ordain him as a Cardinal. He would ensure our victory.”

“That’s a great idea”, said the Pope.

A few weeks later, the cardinals returned from their golf game and the Pope was anxiously awaiting the news of the match.

“So, how did it go?” asked the Pope.

One of the cardinals replied, “Well, it went alright. We played pretty well, but we lost.”

“How could you lose? We had Tiger Woods as our secret weapon.” gasped the Pope.

The cardinal shook his head and replied, “Tiger lost to Rabbi Greg Norman!”

    GM TODville.

Wow, R&S is early this morning, didn’t think it would be up before I’m off for another busy Saturday morning.

Posted this at the end of the Early Bird thread:

I know TODville shares my scorn for @jodikantor (recall she *knows* personal things about PBO and FLOTUS’ marriage / snark) but really, she is scraping the bottom of the barrel (or perhaps that “crabs in a barrel” metaphor might work here?) with this offensive headline on @nytimes home page this morning.

I doubt she would have written such a negative piece (that ignores that the fact that Malala is getting a chance to pursue her childhood goal of an education for herself and other girls/women across the globe) about a boy that age.

We should celebrate the fact that Malala survived a gunshot to her head.

Malala will now have the network and support to actually see her wish become reality for millions of girls.

And Malala has the opportunity to be a symbol and reference point for peace between two nuclear powers — India and Pakistan.

@jodikantor and @a_stanleyNYT are poster women for the toxic old-girl-network at the nytimes — bitter, jealous, pampered women which include the queen of bitter, Maureen Dowd.

Cantor seems to like reaching above herself to try and pull someone down. Or maybe she reaches above herself to hang on to them so that some of their glow will reflect in her direction? Isn’t that her ‘normal’ reaction to the Obamas? My response on the previous thread =

    Good morning, TOD.
Judith—you are so awesome! And TY to Chips for front paging Judith.

Today, for the first time in a while my NYTimes on my doorstep did not bring on higher blood pressure.
    Not stories with anti-President slants.

People—let’s not get worked up about negative Press/polling.
    Remember—-Eric Canter’s polls had him up 30%.

I do not understand why the MSM is successively highlighting state elections in the way they are.
It reminds me of the huge fuss made over successive GOP “candidates” in 2012. (Michelle Bachmann week. Rick Santorum week. Herman Cain week. And so on.)

All that matters to me is that more (D)s are elected that (R)s in the Senate and the Governors seats. More (D)s in the House would be good, too.

Belgium’s King Philippe has sworn in a new centre-right government, more than four months after the general election.

It is led by French-speaking liberal Charles Michel, 38, who will be Belgium’s youngest PM since 1841.

The government is the first to include ministers from the separatist New Flemish Alliance (N-VA) party. It has vowed to cut government spending and balance the national budget.

Belgium is notorious for long political deadlocks following elections.

It took 541 days to form the country’s previous, Socialist-led government.

Good Day my Chips and TOD family. Been out and about trying to move some pebbles from the road to our victory path for Nov. Good work is happening, but we will all continue to do our best in whatever way we can.

A beautiful Happy Birthday to our lovely J’OB. Enjoy all of it with much vigor and happiness.

A grateful Big Thank You to our wonderful Judith. You are so dedicated and lots of these from my heart to your space.(((((((To Judith.)))))))

Mrs. Dotster, loving hugs of healing to Mr. Dotster. Hoping for a wonderful recovery for him. Keep those culinary gems ready for his arrival home.

Our wonderful President just always looks so great in our neck of the woods. I was just 15 minutes away from him during the visit to San Dimas. I am grateful for those who worked so hard to get this done during his presidency. Cali., weather greeted him with lovely hugs during his visit. So wonderful to see one of our very loving and hard working senators greeting him. Love her so much. She really does work hard with PBO and for our state.

Hope that everyone will have a lovely weekend and enjoy your space. Please keep POB and his Administration in your space of meditation. He is the hardest working president in my lifetime. We will continue to work hard and we will do fine for so many who really do need us to win this one. Love you all so dearly. HZ
