Morning, sister!
Here you were climbing on the podium, while I was running up and down your TL unsuccessfully trying to find that cute little puppy who was lying so comfortably in bed! Did s/he actually go outside, after all?
Hey There VC!
Like all dogs, she went outside to handle some important business then came in, tore up everything in sight, then went right back to bed. ;-)
“@CuteEmergency: I just want to lay in bed all day. pic.twitter.com/RT78UVpBpz”
Yo, would you cut it out! I don’t have enough space to keep updating my ‘Dudette Titles for Chips Chica’ folder! Use one of the previous ones (there’s easily over a dozen already in the folder), for crying out loud!
Good morning and thanks, Chips, for the cheery photo. Today, when my older sister should be celebrating her first wedding anniversary, she is undergoing skin cancer surgery. Sometimes life is a little over generous with the lemons. Hope our president sleeps late and eases into the week’s headaches. The headaches will always be there and his health, like all of ours, has to come first. Hope everyone has a happy and healthy day.
Oh Jackie, wishing your sister the very best and the fastest of healing. Hopefully she’ll be in full health very soon and can have a delayed anniversary party.
Good luck to your sister and to her doctors for excising those invasive cells.
And yes, I hope that PBO can work at his own schedule and pace this week and completely ignore our disrespectful MSM whose only goal it seems is to undermine POTUS and the Americans he serves.
‘What’s not to like?’:grin: I like your attitude, JackieG. After all, as YardArm would say, ‘We are not pushing up tulips’ or something similar.
Morning, Arapaho! I bet the LA weather gods are not pleased with you - you don’t like excessive heat, blustery winds, too little rain, too much rain. What’s a weather god to do?
Wishing you a ‘Happy Monday’ regardless of whatever weather the god decides on!
‘End of weather rant, and I’ll think twice before complaining again.’
Don’t, please, Arapaho. I’ m not being critical, I just like to tease. Ask Japa. ;) *I* will *try* to restrain myself, but the weather is a wonderful conversation starter, and since Amk has abandoned me, I am lost and bewildered. :(:(
Drive carefully and slowly, Dee - you’ll get there when you get there, and safely.
A co-worker who lived far from work once gave me a valuable (I considered it so ;) ) piece of ‘advice’ when a heavy snowfall or a storm was predicted. Normally, I would leave home earlier - extra time for the journey and all that since I also lived far enough away. He was always early for work 98%, so when he rolled in late one stormy day I asked him if he had left home much earlier than normal - trying to gauge traffic/weather from his end. His shrugging response, “Why? I always leave at the same time. I’m not putting myself out; when the weather is bad everyone (ie. the boss) knows it.” Of course you know who didn’t put too much pressure on herself to get ahead of the traffic on bad weather days after this convo, and who stopped worrying about a late arrival. ;)
Thanks, arapaho. And this low tax rate is the result of a concerted effort by the GOP since the Eisenhower era. For one of our major political parties, there is no sense of a community of interest in the US or the belief that when we all do well, the country does well. It’s every man for himself, the rich grab the largest share and the rest be damned.
At the core of the coming debate over Executive Action will likely be a discussion of prosecutorial discretion and/or the “Morton Memos.” The use of this power is what created DACA; it is something the entire GOP House voted on to repeal twice in the current Congress; and will likely provide the legal basis of what the President does next. Much of our work this past year has been in documenting how much change the Morton Memos brought to the immigration and border enforcement system over the past several years.
We conclude that the way the Administration has already used P/D has helped make our border safer, kept the net flow of undocumented immigrants into the US at zero and improved public safety by prioritizing the removal of undocumented immigrants with criminal records from the interior of the country. It has also been humane, as the number of people deported without criminal records or caught entering the country illegally has fallen to very low levels. It has been smart and successful policy, providing the President with a strong foundation on which he can take additional action.
For more on this see our assembled resources below.
Thank you for the articles DF. Posted on my FB page. Still have some relatives that buy into the Repugs meme. Going to be a tough holiday season around here. :-(
Yesterday I moved to a 55+ older apartment complex. My movers spoke with an accent & spoke the native language, so I asked what it was…they are from Ukraine. You know we had lively conversations after that. They were wonderful young men. We all agreed, Putin is unbalanced. They said he can’t give up his KGB ways.
Good more-to-the-east west coast morning, Gx2!
Doesn’t it feel great to actually have some relevant info about news in places around the world? I actually find I’m more ‘with it’ these days because of our TODvillage and its world class journalists.
Have a short, relaxing drive to work! [55 & older, eh? Hmmmm. ;);) ]
Your Ukrainian movers are right about Putin. He’s living in a world that no longer exists and trying to do as much damage as he can to as many people as possible. Sad, misplaced, destructive, ugly, looney little man. Hope you enjoy your new apartment GGail.
After the fall of the Berlin Wall, I recall chatting with the guy who delivered Sparkletts water to our office. He was a recent Polish immigrant, and spoke English flawlessly, with just a slight accent.
Since this was over 20 years ago, I wasn’t aware of how/whether English was taught in schools in Poland, so I asked where he learned English. He said from television — I was quite impressed.
GGail, enjoy your new digs. I live in the same kind of building and varied ethnic people. It is fun to meet them and talk to them. We have 3 that are from the Ukraine with family still there. Sometimes it’s hard to talk to them, they don’t understand English real well and speak it less. But wonderful people. I have more trouble with the White older people being nasty. Sometimes I just have to shake my head and move on. :-)
The front-page photo on this thread is just incredible.
The little ones up front have expressions of pure joy and awe, the older ones have the same expressions but stand with such respect and honor for the President. And you just know the children looking off to the side are glancing at their parents to share their joy.
Good Morning!
Good morning, Dudette!
Hiya Alycee! :-D
Good Morning, back at you, Alycee! May *your* day be filled with joy and laughter!
Morning, sister!
Here you were climbing on the podium, while I was running up and down your TL unsuccessfully trying to find that cute little puppy who was lying so comfortably in bed! Did s/he actually go outside, after all?
Hey There VC!
Like all dogs, she went outside to handle some important business then came in, tore up everything in sight, then went right back to bed. ;-)
Thanks! This is exactly how I feel, which is why I was looking for it.
Congratulations, dudette. You are the first robin to leave the nest this am. Hope that means you’ve got the best breakfast coming your way.
Hi and thanks Jg! Does a granola bar and a piece of string cheese count? :-)
Actually that does sound good, dudette. Enjoy!
Gooooooooooood Mooooooooorning Delectable Duuuuuuuuuuuudette!
Morning everyone!
Good Morning My Quintessential Queen of Cool! :-D  :-D
Well, that is a splendiferous title! Thank you Dame Delectable!
Hey I like that! :-D
Yo, would you cut it out! I don’t have enough space to keep updating my ‘Dudette Titles for Chips Chica’ folder! Use one of the previous ones (there’s easily over a dozen already in the folder), for crying out loud!
:-D
;) ;) They are quite creative though, and flow so beautifully.
It’s just that I’m mindful of the ‘Reuse and recycle’ mantra, and I always give you credit when I use one. ..as in © Dudette. O, and I’m running out of ‘storage space’.
Congrats, Dudette, earliest early bird!
You’re looking mighty chipper (or should I say chirping :) ) this morning.
Why thank you Arapaho! Just trying keep up with you, Dear! :-)
;-) <3 :-)
You are truly on the job dudette. I love Dinah Washington.
Thanks jg!
Love this song! It is definitely in my top ten.
:-)
Morning! Happy First, Dudette:) Morning, Alycee:)
Morning df!

Morning, jackieg…hoping your sister’s surgery goes well today. Tomorrow will be a fine day for a celebration…
Thanks, df. We will all feel better when this ordeal is behind her. And, yes, I think that tomorrow is a great day for a celebration!
Oh Jackie, wishing your sister the very best and the fastest of healing. Hopefully she’ll be in full health very soon and can have a delayed anniversary party.
That’s the hope of all of us. She’s been dreading this day, so it will be a big relief when it’s over. Thanks.
I can only imagine how she’s dreaded it Jackie, but at least when she wakes there’ll be the joy of knowing it’s done. And then party time :-)
Party time! Excelleeeennnnt! :-D
Good luck to your sister and to her doctors for excising those invasive cells.

Send her love and hugs from me, jg! I hope her surgery is successful and that she has a speedy & complete recovery!
Will pray that all goes well for your Sis.
THX, dudette.
Thanks, Alycee. Hope you’re doing well.
GM Jackie…
hope everything goes well with your sister
You guys know it’s not easy to engage most of the little ones simultaneously in a group this size, right?
Morning, TODvillage! My Monday’s overcast, bleak-looking and cold. What’s yours doing?
Well, VC, it’s raining hard, the skies are a dark gray and the temperature is in the 30′s. What’s not to like?
‘What’s not to like?’  I like your attitude, JackieG. After all, as YardArm would say, ‘We are not pushing up tulips’ or something similar.
Have a great day!
It’s quite toasty here VC, Danny and myself just had breakfast on the beach
THAT’S what I’m talking about! :)
I would offer to pray about that mean streak of yours……..
.
.
then I remember that the nuns had a closer, more active line for praying and theirs didn’t work!
.
.
MooOoornnning, Czarina Chips © Dudette! I’m grateful that you and DannyO left no garbage behind.
Yeah but I had to clean the beach before I took the photo, Danny is the messiest eater
/patting CC on the head/
‘Good
dog…oops..ownercitizen!’/like you didn’t eat anything  /
Show off!
After a slight drizzle on Friday night, SoCal weather has resumed its typical pattern.
We’ve now got blustery santa ana (aka devil) winds which drives everyone bonkers — which is common after it rains here.
LL said it wasn’t windy by LAX yesterday, but it is in my neck of the woods.
Can’t wait for the winds to calm down.

Wishing you a ‘Happy Monday’ regardless of whatever weather the god decides on!
You’re too funny, vc, and as usual, spot on. :)
Sorry about the weather complaints. If I had to choose one weather God to diss, it would be the Wind God.
Feels like negative humidity here, i.e., like all the moisture in your body is being sucked out from your pores. No dewy complexions here now.
End of weather rant, and I’ll think twice before complaining again. ;)

Miss amk too.
Since he closed his twitter account, we’ll never know about his comings and goings, updates on his spectacular family and pug pictures. :(
It’s raining like a car wash over my house. I blame amk for leaving us
The commute to work is going to be a nightmare.
Drive carefully and slowly, Dee - you’ll get there when you get there, and safely.

{{D-ette9t9}}
For some reason as I typed that ’9t9′ I suddenly remember that old Dolly Parton (?) song with the 9-to-5 name.
Here’s a good response to any of your GOP friends/family/colleagues who say “we don’t have a tax problem, we’ve got a spending problem.”
This chart shows how US’s tax revenues compare to other countries, and there’s more graphs in this article by Steve Rattner about income equality.
If only facts mattered…..
Thanks, arapaho. And this low tax rate is the result of a concerted effort by the GOP since the Eisenhower era. Very welcome, Roberta…sometimes it’s just easier to believe the lies if it suits your own bias’….we move the convo forward and march ahead.
The Cool Pope is coming!
Sad news
Sorry about this. The treatment must have come too late to effective. His family must be devastated.
Very sad. I read that by the time he arrived at the treatment center, he was already suffering from kidney and respiratory failure.
Yes, I too believe his family waited too long before deciding to send him to the USA for treatment. May he rest in peace.
I’m sorry to hear about the doctor passing.
Good morning TOD folks! Congrats to Dudette on a well deserved 1st! Don’t know how Chips keep up this amazing archive of photos. Incroyable!
Oui, vraiment incroyable!
Bonjour Mme Alma-b, and how are you?
Thanks vetivera!

Thanks vc, jackieg & arapaho!
Arapaho, I moved from crazy LA to quiet Monrovia.
For everyone else, I love the new city!!
Yes vc, 55+ :D:
Dont have new internet yet, so communique is spotty
Your Ukrainian movers are right about Putin. He’s living in a world that no longer exists and trying to do as much damage as he can to as many people as possible. Sad, misplaced, destructive, ugly, looney little man. Hope you enjoy your new apartment GGail.
Love the immigrant spirit!
Sounds like they spoke English well.

G’morning Chips & TOD! Happy Monday everyone.
GM all fellow TODvillians. It was a brisk 7 degrees upon my awakening this AM. Beautiful morning. Brisk, bright, and overall a cheerful morning.
Hope all will have a wonderful week.
Have a great day everybody!!!

I <3 her!
Does VP Biden share a birthday with this schmuck? Didn’t MP say somewhere that today was VPJoe’s day? O well!
I’m off to find myself something to eat.
