Yes. This what I taught in my sociology class regarding whiteness. It is a very recent social construct and those that use it today and are in esssence reinforcing it’s purpose. We need people of European desent to either use their country of origin as a racial identifier or wuse simply European. It’s really up to every “white” person to expose and then help eliminate this opressive socio-economic construct from our discourse.

I can’t belief a friend of mine was telling me that he hated the ‘Orange Is The New Black’ joke. I found it hilarious and I’m not much of a fan of the show myself.
A wonderful gift to all of our sisters and brothers who will have a little more peacefulness and able to express their love with a little more peace of mind during those difficult and needed medical times. Just knowing that they can take their children to a doctor is pure peace IMO.

My day has been made. Not only did we have long phone calls with both our children, we got to spend over an hour with our little granddaughter on FaceTime. Then a beautiful bouquet of red roses and carnations came to my door from my husband. I cannot ask for more.
:) Wonderful! My day has been made, too. One of the 3rd graders that I tutor shared her progress report with me today and though I only tutor her for math and reading…she went up in ALL of her grades..sometimes as much as 2 entire letter grades!! Holy moly, am I so proud of her for being responsible for her learning!!!! This is why I what I do:)
Did I mention that her mom was BEAMING today when she shared that?:)
And we’re proud of her tutor for helping her see how much she could accomplish with a little effort. We will both sleep with happy smiles tonight.

Another way of putting this is that the Senate Democrats can filibuster as much as they want and they don’t have to have the remotest fear that anyone will ever hold them accountable for it. That, ironically, is a lesson that Mitch McConnell taught them while he was serving as the Senate Minority Leader.
I think it’s even better for the Democrats than it was for the Republicans. The Republicans were filibustering things that the president had proposed. Those things were mostly poll-tested and quite popular with the general public. But what the Democrats are opposing isn’t popular. No one gives a shit about the Keystone pipeline. No one wants the Homeland Security department shut down. No one is going to wants guns in every purse or more abortion restrictions. No one wants sanctions in Iran.
Df, the supreme irony our our times is that no one wants what the Republicans propose and yet people elected them to the majority. If Americans don’t want crappy legislation that undermines their health, safety and financial well being, they might consider getting out to vote next time. I will not, however, hold my breath.

Issues of the practical implementation of the “Package of Measures for the Implementation of the Minsk Agreements”, adopted in Minsk on 12 February 2015, were discussed during the consultations. Particular emphasis was placed on full respect of provisions concerning the ceasefire, which should be strictly implemented from 15 February 2025 at 00.00 hours Kiev time, as well as the withdrawal of heavy weapons, as agreed in the Package of Measures.
It was agreed that all actors will undertake all necessary measures aimed at achieving the above objectives and the speedy de-escalation of ongoing hostilities in the conflict zone, in particular in the vicinity of the towns of Debaltseve and Mariupol, which have seen the heaviest fighting in recent days.
It was also decided that the Trilateral Contact Group will hold further consultations with representatives of certain areas of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions on a regular basis in order to facilitate the full implementation of the Minsk Agreements of 5 and 19 September 2025 and the Package of Measures of 12 February 2015.”

Everyone knows it. This entire drill, as best I can see, is a necessary step to make as transparent as possible to the world that Putin is waging war and all the propaganda stunts in his bag of tricks can’t hide that fact.
What happens next …. it’s warfare, i.e., most of what is going to happen is unpredictable. But, one thing for sure, the situation could not be more dangerous if Putin doesn’t halt the shooting.
