Thanks as always to chips and TOD for easing the sadness of the day with fellowship unique to this site.
Good morning everyone. I feel heavy with sadness today for the Biden family….if I could take some of their sadness away, I would in a heartbeat. I hope they feel the arms of a grateful nation wrapped around them today and evermore. I wish for time to more quickly so the pain doesn’t hurt so much anymore….it does get better, with time. Mostly, I wish strength for them. This will be a hard day.
Thanks Chips and Nerdy Wonka for giving us space to remember, celebrate, and to grieve. You can see the pain on their faces. Always hard to understand why the good die young and the sociopaths endure. As interns in a county hospital we had a saying that survivability was inversely correlated with social worth. RIP Beau Biden.

I constantly rely on reciting it ever since I learned it as a youngster; I also love to listen to the hymn that is derived from it : “Lord Make Me an Instrument of Your Peace;

Praying for the Biden family in this sad hour. So admire all of them for their faith and courage at this time. Like others here, I hope they feel the warmth and support or millions of Americans during this hour. Also praying for PBO at this difficult time. He has had to comfort so many people during his tenure, and this is one more, so personal, loss he is comforting all of us. God bless him and both families.
May God bless, replenish, and sustain the spirits of each member of the Biden family as they go through today and the days and years ahead!

WaItching CNN outside right now…..heartbreaking. What I have noticed are Jill Biden’s eyes……just the saddest I can imagine…..she has cried rivers, and is holding in more rivers. she looks positively ravaged. Also, no Biden is left alone…..hands are held, hands are on shoulders or around waists…..It looks like Hunter is going to step in, much like Ted Kennedy did for Caroline and John. Also, have noticed that Hunter’s mouth is just like his dad’s, and has the same expressions. Joe just grabbed his grandson’shead and is stroking him………tears flow.
This poor family. Their grief will prevent them from remembering everything happening today. It is great that it is televised.

Hello TOD family , I’m here and have postponed starting my busy day until after funeral. I’m watching on c span which had two cans , one outside and inside. The Irish bagpipers and horses were tear jerkers…
Someone at yesterday’s WHPB asked Josh Earnest what PBO was doing yesterday (no public events on calendar) and Josh replied that PBO was having staff meetings and completing his eulogy for #Beau, which would be a celebration of his life.

Last night driving home from work, I was listening to an album by Kristen Chenoweth and she sang “Bring Him Home” from Les Miserables. I thought to myself, “Is there any more spiritual song than this, and it comes from musical theater? As simple and powerful and meaningful as Amazing Grace.”
As Beau Biden was brought down the church aisle, this was the song sung.
I swear to God, these were my exact thoughts last night.

Loved the priest’s invitation which was inclusive since it invited BOTH who wanted to receive communion AND those who wanted to receive a blessing ( but not communion) to come foward. Not the usual approach

I was unable to watch the funeral live, but I’m watching it on CSpan. It’s very hard to watch through my tears. I don’t know if any of you will understand this but Beau’s children are blessed. They have many to comfort them. As a child I lost my mother, but I didn’t have family to comfort me the way these children are receiving so much love. I really think their family will really help them come out of this on the other side and eventually be okay. I really do feel their pain.
Thank you Ms. Chips, NW, LL and all for letting us come here and share our grief and receive comfort.

I was going to write that I’d like Congress to pass one bill. A bill that would allow scientists to clone the Obamas and Bidens so we could each have one in our personal lives.
But if we look around, we know - if we are lucky - we have people like them in our lives. And the good part about them is that they help us look around. They help us find our Obamas and Bidens, in our hearts and our towns.
Look for love, like they did. Look for family, honorary family, and friends, like they did. It’s a lesson we can all learn from them.
Clones - nope. The molds are broken. They are unique. They may be imitated but never duplicated.

Funny, our media. Switched to MSNBC after WH feed left. On air hosts speaking about the closeness displayed between PBO and VP. Never in recent history such a close relationship, according to the speakers. But, hey, we already KNEW how close they are. It’s their cynicism which keeps them unaware of what we already get. Unfortunately I missed the live broadcast and I would really like to hear the entire eulogies rather than just the snippets on the news. I hope you will link to that if you find it. I wish C-Span would actually just replay it. I only caught the end and I was bawling just looking at their faces. I love these photos of the President and Vice President….that hug, that kiss, those tears….you can’t fake that….that’s a true brotherhood. Bonded for life.
