Oh my God! There is no way that fiesty young woman killed herself - NO WAY. You hear officers at the scene trying to make his scratches more than minor scratches and he even admits that she didn’t kick him very hard. He became irritated that she dared to question his authority.

Very happy to see our president with the vets, as a disabled veteran (Army) I truly adore everything this administration has attempted to do for vets and military.
Two points if I may.
1. I loathe Jon Stewart, absolutely LOATHE HIM.
2. My TL is filled with Bernie supporters and I have gotten into many arguments with them as well as with Hillary supporters. Bernie’s peeps are annoying delusional cretins. Just my opinion.
I’m truly sorry but the Democrats don’t excite me and i’m having a difficult time accepting the inevitable - Hillary as the nominee. Sadly she’ll also select a Blue Dog like Evan Byah as VP which will push me to the edge.
Let’s face it folks 2016 will be the anti-climax o after eight beautiful years of our united struggles unless there’s a black horse waiting to come into the race.

Mittens, the reality is that President Obama NEEDS a Democratic president to succeed him if his achievements are to be sustained in any form. A Republican president will set a scorched earth policy in place and destroy anything that PBO has done. That’s why, however unmoved we may be by the Democratic nominee, we have to vote for that person for the sake of our President. We simply can’t let him down by not voting and getting as many people as possible to vote with us.

Duff can be up to a foot thick, and it provides the insulation that keeps permafrost cold through even the sunny days of summer. But when fire comes along, duff becomes fuel. ‘Polar bears have rougher times coming as the Arctic sea ice is melting and climate change is taking its toll on them and their environment. During an intensive new study, researchers have found that polar bears are now facing the danger of starvation as the accelerated melting of the Arctic sea ice has stranded many of them on land, unable to hunt for seals. Summer sea ice was their quick delivery of food. Now, the chances are getting slimmer that they hunt seals. The study, conducted by researchers at the University of Wyoming tracked 43 bears for two years, between 2008 and 2009. Previous studies had suggested that in order to conserve energy, polar bears, particularly those that are stranded on land fall into a state of walking hibernation which would protect them in the face of starvation.
The new study comes to contradict the walking hibernation hypothesis. The 43 polar bears were both shore bears and ice bears. The research team tracked the activity levels and the body temperature of the polar bears over summer months. Both the polar bears stranded on land and those that spend time on what’s left of the Arctic ice sea displayed similar declines both in body temperature, as well as activity. However, the decline is far less pronounced than the changes that occur during the polar bears’ winter hibernation. Continuing in a limbo of survival with less food, the polar bears are in fact facing starvation….continued’

A US air strike has reportedly killed Muhsin al-Fadhli, the Kuwaiti leader of the Khorasan Group, a shadowy al-Qaeda offshoot operating in Syria.
Al-Fadhli was targeted on 8 July while travelling in a vehicle near Sarmada in Syria, a Pentagon spokesman said.
A statement by US Navy Capt Jeff Davis said al-Fadhli was one of the few al-Qaeda leaders to have known in advance of the 9/11 attacks.

FYI about Ohio and Kasich “approval ratings”:
Earlier in his first term, Kasich tried to destroy collective bargaining among other arrogant things he did and said (not much different from the rest of his fellow righwingers).
Unions and Union-supporters but an initiative on the ballot to oppose Kasich’s actions against collective bargaining. Kasich lost very badly but he said he had learned a lesson.
from his subsequent actions you can detect that the lesson he learned was that he would let the Gerrymandered gop legislature take the public lead to push destructive policies while he remained in the background and signed these draconian laws.
the approval ratings is largely attributable to the fact that for non-political people in Ohio, they are not paying attention to the radical laws and most importantly, they don’t see him upfront leading the radical fight.
to make matters worse, the Ohio Democratic party is currently in a bad place and disorganized. Exhibit A: the old guard put on the ballot, a dem with some personal issues, as the challenger to Kasich’s re-election.
After the scandals of the Dems were insinuated, there opposition to Kasich crumbled and all the people on the down-ballot ticket were unable to mount any credible opposition to the gop.
despite the fact that Ohio is critical to the presidential election, very little resources were put into the last election cycle to oppose the gop.
so bottom line, Kasich’s numbers are largely as a result of a very weak disorganized opposition (Ohio Dem party)

I watched this play out and it’s so enraging.
This is exactly what President Obama meant when he said you don’t you have to call someone the “n” word to be racist. Or, to actively promote and benefit from white privilege.
Nicki Minaj made a fantastic point about Black artists not being credited and rewarded for the work they create. But when white artists blatantly copy the work of black artists, they are rewarded, credited, praised, and they profit off it. Taylor Swift jumped in and accused Nicki Minaj of talking about her and pitting women against each other. Then mockingly told Nicki that when she, Taylor, wins the awards at the VMAs, Nicki can come on stage with her. I mean, WTF?! Twitter rightfully came for her and snatched her wig.
Then the media jumped in and specifically chose pictures portraying Nicki as an angry black woman and Taylor as the poor victim. The backlash they received was well deserved and many media platforms deleted their disgusting tweets. The idea that white people are always victims that must be protected from mean horrible black people is nauseating.
That Taylor calls herself a feminist yet profits off stereotyping black artists works, then turns around and mocks a black artist that she’s copied in in her Shake It Off video is appalling.
One more reason why I view Taylor Swift as a selfish, vapid moron who only speaks up when it concerns her money, and couldn’t care less about other artists.

It’s a perfect ‘object lesson’ of that point, NW, as you clearly enunciate.
Guilt free privilege requires the perpetuation of the myth of White innocence/Black guilt. In their view, Black folks “victimize” White people when we point out the harsh realities of being on the wrong side of white privilege. Pointing out racism is playing the race card. Calmly pointing out the effects of racism makes you “angry” or makes you guilty of reverse racism. These are all the tricks of language the oppressor uses to maintain the status quo. Any discomfort felt by the oppressor trumps the concerns of people of color. A great example is the “All Lives Matter” response by privileged whites to the “Black Lives Matter” slogan. Language again used to undermine the legitimate concerns of Black folks. The first thing the oppressor takes from the oppressed is his voice.
