If they want to put HRC in jail for using a non-Gov server then they need to put Bush, Cheney, and the whole administration in jail too. Over 2 million emails destroyed and they sent all emails through the RNC servers for the whole eight years. Reading the tweets from these crazies is just hilarious and sad at the same time.

This was a perfect opportunity to pull The Donald off the stage and treat him to ignoring his run for office. No attention would be the perfect counter to his behavior. Speaking of behavior Trump does not possess the character traits necessary to be a good President.

gm from my world TOD - Summer seems to be arriving early down under - which is a slight worry.

Browsing the news, I think I was slow to realise what the democrats are doing re Iran - they seem to have the deal sewn up in the Senate - but are dribbling it out, day by day to prolong the news coverage. Sen Reid will be missed.

    Great Tweets - thanks Nerdy

So, I think the latest count is 33 yes or leaning yes to the deal, one away from being veto proof and 10 “who the heck knows”. Only need 1 of those to sustain a veto, but more importantly, only 7 to even keep Senate from taking a vote on it.

I expect a drip, drip drip of yeses, every one or two days.

Great collection of tweets and info NW. Your hard work is greatly appreciated. Based on that Mother Jones article, Director Quentin Tarantino is a huge fan of PBO, which is good news for me since he is my favorite director and made my favorite movie ‘Pulp Fiction’. Fair or not, when a celebrity talks shit about PBO, I can no longer watch that person’s work. I used to be a big Clint Eastwood fan. I think ‘Unforgiven’ is a masterpiece, but I cannot bear to see his face after his “performance” at the GOP convention. Same with Matt Damon/John Cusack, whose earlier work I liked, but whose ODS (especially when they have a shitty movie coming out) turned me off completely.

I’m the same Eric - used to watch the endless reruns of “everybody loves raymond” until Patricia Heaton attacked Sandra Fluke.

        Good Evening you two.

        Count me in.

After the “empty chair talk” of Mr. Eastwood, I can’t watch any of his movies, old or new. Though his performance at the laughable GOP convention was more a reflection on him (he wasn’t funny), on his candidate (The Mistty got a shellacking ultimately), and on the Convention organizers who had no clue of how bad his performance was going to be.

    OMG guys!

Guys…I think POTUS may be coming if not to my job, then very near!

They sent out an email telling us that the employee street parking entrance was gonna be closed and we’d have to park in the ER garage.

First off, ugh ER garage is crap. I’ll have to get to work early just to find a spot.

2nd, the hospital where I work is a BIG deal and made national news. If you’ve paid attention in the past 3 weeks you’ll be able to fifire out where I’m talking about. If POTUS does come there, it would make sense.

Thirdly…no thirdly. I just hate listing things like I did with just 2 bullet points…lol.

Ooh…they now they are telling us the employee parking will be closed due to a “special event”!!!!

    OMG!!!

        August 25, 2025 at 9:58 pm

It’ll be very interesting…he may not come anywhere near the hospital, but it’s very interesting the areas the hospital are closing especially since we are very close to City Hall (bout 15 min or less) and we aren’t even close to the lower 9th ward.

So it may be all for nothing, but I’m still hoping!

      August 25, 2025 at 10:05 pm

I’m looking at the press release and it says he’ll be here on Thursday. My job has this “special event” parking bidness tomorrow though…it’s weird.

I wonder why they wouldn’t tell us what this “special event” is though…the parking they are closing is utilized by over 200 employees!

Still, Google Charity Hospital and Katrina, and you’ll see articles about the significance of Charity post Katrina and how the new hospital is being touted as a “shining” example of NOLA getting back on track post-Katrina.

So it is still a possbility

I have been reading and watching lots of Joe Biden coverage and what is missing from the discussions is that VP Biden played a part in POTUS’ accomplishments of the past 61/2 years.
The media is pretending VPB is just another candidate. They are talking about this vote and that vote from ancient history, saying Joe is just like Hillary, as though any of that history has the slightest relevance. It doesn’t.

If VPB runs on as he puts it “What we have done” he will be unbeatable. I could be off-base here but what I think is that

The media can pretend he is just another candidate, but the voters will not see it that way at all.
All the distancing that DINOS have engaged in will backfire.
Grateful people enjoying Obamacare will want to insure it continues.

Right now the Vice President is actively whipping for the Iran deal. You like Peace and diplomacy??? You know who to vote for.

VP Biden broke the mold. He’s both a very active vice president and, unlike the disastrous Cheney, he is very successful. He has handled an impressive portfolio impeccably and been in the room with PBO on every single important discussion and decision. The MSM love to belittle him but they do so at their own peril. We know better.

Exactly. Some RWNJ dolts think “we” get all this stuff for free (Tom Cotton was referring to Medicaid, I’m pretty sure, but some think Medicare is free). We earned it, and we’re still paying for it. And I’m glad to have it, along with my regular health insurance.

Tom Cotton is a dam jackass. I think he is one of those racists bigots too. He look just like a Klansman.Spending all that money on war and prison, doesn’t do what the good Lord said for us to do, which is feed the hungry, clothe the naked, visit the sick, look after the widows and orphans. I am just amaze how people like Cotton got elected, by racists bigots like him, I guess.

It’s just find to spend trillions of dollars invading another country, but how dare we spend money on Americans having health insurance, or people having food to eat. Maybe we shouldn’t be paying the salary for these sorry ass politicians like Tom racists Cotton.

    Republicans hate workers.

    http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-boeing-layoffs-20150826-story.html

Aerospace giant Boeing Co. said Tuesday that it plans to lay off as many as several hundred employees at its Southern California-based satellite division.

Boeing said the cuts were needed after a customer could not get financing through the Export-Import Bank and canceled an order for a pricey satellite.

At the same time, recent rocket failures have delayed the start of work on other satellite orders, the company said, and the division has suffered as the Pentagon continues to reduce spending.

Most of the affected employees work in El Segundo, where the aerospace firm operates a large satellite factory, Boeing spokeswoman Linda Taira said.

Taira said that Bermuda-based ABS, a global satellite operator, had recently canceled an order for one of Boeing’s new electric-powered satellites because of its inability to finance the purchase through the Export-Import Bank.

This summer, House Republican leaders succeeded in their quest to shut down the bank, which helps U.S. companies sell their goods overseas.

    August 25, 2025 at 11:02 pm

Washington — Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) thinks Republican leaders are bluffing when they say they want to defund Planned Parenthood, so he is enlisting Christian pastors across the nation to help mobilize voters to force his colleagues’ hands and threaten a government shutdown.

Cruz implored more than a thousand pastors and religious leaders on Tuesday to “preach from the pulpit” against Planned Parenthood and rally public support for an amendment defunding the family provider in the must-pass federal budget bill in November. If Congress attaches the defunding amendment to the budget instead of holding a vote on the standalone bill, it cannot keep funding Planned Parenthood without shutting down the whole federal government.

“Here is the challenge,” the presidential hopeful explained on the national conference call. “The leadership of both parties, both the Democrats and Republicans, want an empty show vote. They want a vote on Planned Parenthood that has no teeth or no consequence, which allows Republicans to vote for defunding, Democrats to vote for continuing funding, and nothing to change. But the leadership of both parties have publicly said they do not want the vote tied to any legislation that must pass.”

I don’t particularly like talking about this story because of how stupid I feel for not evacuating with my other family (Basically my mom refused to leave and I didn’t want to leave her) …and I won’t be talking about it now….but you can check it out. My mom is featured in this story about Katrina survivors and she tells our story…

I actually told my mom that I didn’t want my name mentioned at all, but it was too late by then…so I’m sharing it with a few select blogs and social media places I frequent, mostly as a bit of catharsis…
