People looking to condemn Donald Trump’s presidential campaign are quick to point to the frontrunner’s support among prominent white supremacists and mobs eager for a fight. But defenders of the real estate magnate argue that those supporters are fringe followers, out of sync with the thrust of Trump’s ideology.
A new poll, however, illustrates at least one shockingly backward view that’s pervasive among a key contingent of his fans.
According to a Public Policy Polling survey of usual Republican primary voters in Iowa, 48% of Trump voters say they support the use of Japanese internment during World War II, while only 21% oppose it. That’s a departure from Republicans overall in the state, among whom 29% support it and 39% are opposed. The poll found that supporters of Sen. Ted Cruz (Texas), Sen. Marco Rubio (Fla.) and Ben Carson all opposed the policy in greater numbers than supported it — in the latter case, by a margin of 4 to 1.

i watched Pres on that Bear Wilderness Nature Show. BearG is that his real name? He actually asked the Pres If he can pray for him? That weld me up for some reason. Then I was throw back…..a tad. Isn’t BearG with a Bristish sounding accent? I have always believed that most Brits, didn’t ‘showboat’ their religiosity?

We are off to a matinee of Star Wars and then we go to my son’s this evening for the Princesses 2nd Birthday Party. It’s hard to imagine that they are two already.

Before we get too smug about 30% of GOPers wanting to nuke Genie, the same poll showed that 19% of Dems would also send in the B-2’s. Basically, we have a large part of the electorate which is just stupid.

Didn’t have time to post this on the last thread when there was discussion (once again) about the media.
Last night on our way home from Nashville, we stopped at a small local restaurant for an early dinner. There were two other couples in the place and one of them left shortly after we arrived. In a few minutes, a couple came in and chose the table right next to us. (The other couple was all the way across the restaurant.) We struck up a conversation w/them. Learned they were from Woodbridge, VA. We said we had lived in Fairfax area for 17 years. Learned a lot about our backgrounds……They were traveling to NO for the holidays. Talked about college football and other things. We introduced ourselves…….just a wonderful conversation. Then, the guy asked what we thought about the Republican candidates and specifically, DT. So, we got into that discussion. They are Hillary supporters, though not huge. Like us here, they don’t care for Bill and the thought of him being in the WH, but do believe Hillary will win and that she has the experience and will be a good president. They both hope to live to see our first woman elected. ****The thing that the man brought up in regards to DT (and the rest of the clown car) is the media. He said that DT would not be where he is if it were not for the media, said some other things along those lines and ended with “I simply do not trust our media today, not even a little bit.” Validation for me that many people do “get it”. I just hope there’s millions upon millions of those people and they will get off their asses and VOTE.

I remember when Thom Hartman complained that PBO had not commuted many sentences for people and how “awful” it was that he had only commuted a few people in his first couple of years in office. I suppose he’s still complaining but I stopped listening to him since he became a “Berniebot”.
