I see so many people wanting him to be on the Supreme Court (as if the next pres can just waive a wand and make that happen). I know how amazing he would be, but I really want him “out in the world” being a citizen, speaking out, and continuing to inspire us.

Every word the President spoke tonight he spoke to us. Yes, he was in the House Chamber, but all of them were so much window dressing. This was a conversation with every American and a call for us to live up to the challenge of what it means to live in this democracy. I honestly could not care less what any member of Congress thought or what the useless media says. If there were hearts to be touched, PBO touched them tonight and if there were minds to be opened, he reached out to them. We will never see anyone like him again!

I am a die hard. I like Martin O’Malley best even though he is sure not to win by his polling and lack of media coverage. The reason is he has been a strong supporter of PBO all along. Knowing he is unlikely to win I still will vote for him in the Primary, but will vote for the Democratic candidate in the General no matter whom it is.

Remember this, borrowed early on by the President from the Hopi elders:

  64. 118 No Child Left Behind

I love it at the beginning when Obama, in response to the people (republicans) clapping because he announced that he will have a short speech, said “Because some of you are anxious to go back to Iowa.” Continuing with “I know, I’ve been there. I can even give you some tips when I shake hands.” Ha. Touché.

The echo of what President Obama said tonight will haunt every blathering GOP candidate who talks stupidly and blithely about carpet bombing or hating those who are not white and Christian. He called them out and showed them for the narrow minded bigots they are. He didn’t call them names-he just made it clear that they make American small, not great.

Thanks, Dudette. I did not know how to bring this over. These moments show us how beautiful his heart is for all the love that he receives from the people who worked so hard to make these moments happen. That is one of the many reasons why I love him; he does not take us for granted or his blessings as our President.HZ
