Well, the establishment did really well creeping toward Bush and then Rubio. Hope they have the same success with Cruz. My concern with Rafael Eduardo is that some Latinos will be fooled into voting for him because of his name and because he isn’t Trump. It’s hard to conceive of a more repellent human being or a more disastrous potential president.
Let’s hope so. It also gives me hope that we’re going to have the world’s best campaigners on our side this fall-President Obama, VP Biden, FLOTUS, VFLOTUS, Hillary and Bill Clinton, who’s no slouch when he’s focused.
Good West Coast morning Chipsticks & TOD family.
What happened in Michigan? Did Ann Arbor and other college towns have greater turnout than Detroit?
SMH in confusion
GGail, if you get a chance, check out ‘The People’s View,’ especially the comments. Michigan is an open primary state. Hillary won Democrats 57 to 41, but Sanders won Independents 70 to 28. Whether these “Independents” were Republicans trying to mess up the Democratic race, we’ll never know. I also read that 7 percent of Dems voted for Kasich to undercut Trump. So it was a confluence of a lot of things that don’t necessarily tell us much about the general election and doesn’t make much of a dent in Hillary’s march to the nomination. All that Michigan really did was give us another week of Bernie triumphalism.
Thanks for the explanation, Jackie. Bernie will fundraise like a fiend after this upset “win” and prolong the agony that much longer. Tim to jump back into the fray after a long weekend away to celebrate our daughter’s birthday.
Congratulations to Betsy and happy Wednesday to all.
The 7% voting in GOP race amounted to about 87,200; difference was only 20+K vote. Many Hillary supporters voted in GOP primary since they though Democratic race in the bag based on the polling. Big mistake: let GOP take care of their own. Bernie has done well in the open primaries both due to independent libertarian types and Karl Rove-inspired GOP.
I hate this “vote the other party to mess them up. In 2008 in a local election, the Democrats were urged to do this in the primary to have a moderate Republican become the candidate. I went to hear her speak, and she was a very good candidate, a Republican that I could live with. But then I thought I don’t want Republicans to do the same to me, so in the end I voted in the Democratic primary.
I don’t understand this and I don’t agree. It doesn’t matter who they GOP nominate, they are going to go there. I detest Trump with the heat of a thousand suns and I want him to LOSE the primary. I want him to suffer humiliation at the polls and I don’t want there to be ANY CHANCE WHATSOEVER of Trump winning an election. YES, I know Cruz is no better but I believe HRC can beat him handily.
As I was reading that, meta, I was figuratively putting on my marching boots! I want Trump to be grossly humiliated, and soon, even if he will never admit to himself that he lost. We cannot let him anywhere near the general ballot or the White House. We can’t fool ourselves into thinking he wouldn’t be elected in, either, if he makes it to November. And WHEN he loses, he won’t find favor with too many Ds or Rs (although somebody will pander to him forevermore, for his “endorsement”), we can then kick him to the curb, and that’s when I’ll take off the aforesaid marching boots.
LMAO!!! As usual, MSM demonstrating their cluelessness about what really matters. 3-6 months from now, no one will care about the Dem MI result. Remember Scott Brown’s MA win was supposed to be end of the ACA and render Obama a lame duck in his first term?
I don’t know why they don’t point out the obvious fact Clinton blew Sanders out 57-41 among registered Democrats and that the primaries from here on out are closed
A class 6 boy student of our family run school won the 2nd place national level scientific talent competition today. It’s a bfd since all other top ten ranks are from affluent big city schools and ours is the only one from a totally rural and economically backward district.
You know some conservatives suppose to be upset because POTUS is not attending Nancy Reagen’s funeral. It’s showing disrespect toward Nancy Reagen, my response was how about the disrespect they have shown this President and First Lady these seven years. One comment from someone was I rather VP Biden attend the funeral instead of Michelle Obama. And someone ask why is that, because she is black?
This is a comment that was left at FLOTUS’ Instagram:
dannwilly225@k_zayti - Don’t let the facts get in the way of your hate!! The facts are that Obama is leaving the country in much better shape than he found it in! The deficit, unemployment, gas prices all down — people insured and don’t forget who killed Osama bin Laden!! And you all still have your guns!! Obama didn’t take a single one! Just keep repeating those same old republican talking points without any evidence to back it up because since when do facts really matter any way?? Lololololol it kills you that he did a really good job as president lolololololololol
Opening Day for the New African American History Museum Is Announced
Book your hotel and flight. Washington D.C. is going to be the place to be this fall. And September 24 is the big day for the historic opening of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture.
As the day for the official grand opening was announced this morning, Twitter fans were instructed to #SaveTheDate with no less than seven months to go. The formal announcement said that President Barack Obama will cut the ribbon to open the doors to the public and commence a week-long celebration.
“After 13 years of hard work and dedication on the part of so many, I am thrilled,” said the founding director Lonnie Bunch in a report. “In a few short months visitors will walk through the doors of the museum and see that it is a place for all people. We are prepared to offer exhibitions and programs to unite and capture the attention of millions of people worldwide. It will be a place where everyone can explore the story of America through the lens of the African-American experience.”
I will be. That’s my birthday and we planned that trip for that day. Went to Washington last year the very weekend he took his kids to New York. Saw all the museums, loved the American Indian stayed there almost three hours.
But do we know whether these Democrats will not vote for Trump comes November? I was stunned to find out that there are people who voted for Obama twice but find Il Douche attractive and are part of his fan club.
I’m not surprised many DEM men will not vote for HRC. In 2008 a friend of mine that voted for candidate Obama said he would not vote for her if she became the DEM nominee. Many moderate Republicans voted for Obama because of Palin. I wonder if Colin Powell will vote for HRC or Cruz or Trump both are disastrous for this country.

PSA for Obots (like myself) about 2008 Dem primary results (if you Google 2008, the first choice is “2008 democratic primary” LOL).
PBO lost all the big states in 2008, yet won the Dem primary.
I’ve done a wee bit of research on open and closed primaries (and boy, is it ever confusing), but have to run, BBL.
There shouldn’t be open primaries. It’s the party’s nomination, and it should be for registered voters of the parties only.
Stupid fucking idiot.

Because it doesn’t serve their desired narrative. Sanders is at his peak right now - it’s going to be all downhill from there….

Good morning, Chips and TODville. PRESS ON.
Stupid games.
But do we know whether these Democrats will not vote for Trump comes November? I was stunned to find out that there are people who voted for Obama twice but find Il Douche attractive and are part of his fan club.
I know - does not make sense and is scary!
I would say that most of them thought Hillary was going to win, and wanted to create mischief.
The same thing could happen here in IL next week.
I’m not surprised many DEM men will not vote for HRC. In 2008 a friend of mine that voted for candidate Obama said he would not vote for her if she became the DEM nominee.
