Until then, we have 10 glorious months of President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama….Yay!

I am trying to figure out the meaning of this chart. Is it referring to party of registered voters? Anotherwords on Republican heading does it mean Sanders is winning with registered Independent voters in comparison with Hillary as well as beating her with crossover GOP voters?

      • 29 lovelyplains
        March 16, 2025 at 12:40 am

These #’s were from the polls released yesterday morning for the Democratic races. It is the cross tabs of the polling results of people who said they were voting for either HRC or Bernie…hope that clarifies things a bit.

        Another example is Michigan:

Bernie won by 2% but the actual Dem vote in that primary was 70% (HRC won 62-38) but the other 30% of the vote was Indie/GOP (Bernie won that vote 70-30) …..which is why in FL SOS Clinton crushed Sanders…it was a closed vote (Dems only)

  12. 30 lovelyplains
    March 16, 2025 at 12:15 am

Dem race is effectively over..now it is up to Bernie to see how much damage he wants to do to the party or reconcile….here’s what is ahead

Since it’s after midnight on the east coast, doubt many people are around to see where MO primary is at the moment, but here’s current count:

MO primary results mirror 2008 in that it’s once again a nailbiter for both parties:

The way GOP awards delegates if Trump holds on he will win 12 delegates for winning the state and the other 35 delegates are awarded by whomever wins each of the 7 congressional districts (5 per) as of now Trump leads 6/7 so he is up 42-5 over Cruz by winning statewide right now by <.5% ….he basically won Ohio(WTA) if this holds….not to mention all 9 delegates he won from the N. Mariana Islands….I'm hoping and praying he pulls off the nomination….as I may have stated to you earlier this would not only put the Senate in play but open up the possibility of the House as well (even with redistricting limitations)…. having @GOPLeader McCarthy essentially endorsing Trump if he were the nom two days ago was a gift from the gods!

      • 51 arapaho415
        March 16, 2025 at 12:56 am

        Hope you’re right, LP.

Since I don’t have a television, heard HRC and Trump on the radio tonight.

Trump has done a 180 from the “intelligible yelling” of the GOP debates and he sounded (gasp) presidential.

This country has so many ill-informed people that I’m nervous that voters may buy into his newfound humility — remember that CA elected Schwarzenegger and MN elected Jesse Ventura.

Once again we’ll be relying on PBO and Joe Biden to come to the rescue of this country, and FIRE UP Dems to get off their duffs and VOTE this November.

        • 52 lovelyplains
          March 16, 2025 at 1:04 am

Arnold was fluke due to the Grey Davis recall…MN too…the have since elected Klobachar, Franken, and a Dem Gov. 2x…..just remember Trump has -70 disapproval among all voters. I guarantee HRC will get 15-20% of the GOP vote, plus all the Republicans that sit out and the Independent vote will go 70-30 too. I think it will be a 35-40 state win for the Dems!

            March 16, 2025 at 2:17 am

With the exception of Awnold who was elected twice you can’t call that a fluke. He caused so much damage to CA thank God Jerry Brown ran to straighten our state out. MN at least did not vote for Ventura twice but i think Jesse had the good sense to not run.

Rachel Maddow trying to pull out the straw man that didn’t exist last week….talking about how MO & IL don’t matter because of split/proportional delegates…..the opposite of Sanders HUUUUGE <2% win in Michigan which was the "biggest upset in modern Presidential primary history"……completely ignoring the fact she crushed in MS that same day (came out with more delegates in total) and I wish I could find the Chuck Todd comments this morning where he was sure Sanders was going to win IL, MO, OH. The channel is freaking unwatchable. They have no freaking identity! It has become FOX-lite….their election coverage all day consists of GOP operatives and ex-Bush/McCain staffers on as their on-air pundits. Lawernce is the only one (though they never give him air time) who comes out with full-throated diatribes against Trump and truth bombs the ACTUAL race on both sides.

What a wonderful night! I am glad that the majority of Democrats turned up to vote for the only Democrat running. Bernie Sanders is not a Democrat! He is running as a Democrat because that’s the only way he believes he can be elected President. In his own state of Vermont, Bernie is still running as an Indepedent for the U.S. Senate.

Went out for dinner - so pleased to get back and find Hillary has won Illinois AND Missouri - very unexpected. Hard to understand how an independent can run as a dem - but perhaps for the best - if Bernie ran as a 3rd party would ensure a GOP President

Three Royal Brunei Airlines pilots have made history by being the company’s first all-female flight crew, making their first journey to Saudi Arabia, where women are not allowed to drive.

The women flew the Boeing 787 Dreamliner from Brunei to Jeddah.

The milestone coincided with Brunei’s National Day to celebrate independence.

Last year women in Saudi Arabia cast their votes for the first time in municipal elections. A total of 978 women also registered as candidates.

They were alongside 5,938 men and had to speak behind a partition while campaigning, or be represented by a man.

The decision to allow women to take part was taken by the late King Abdullah and is seen as a key part of his legacy.
