I keep muting stuff about Trump, but think Iāve gathered HE didnāt want to do the next GOP debate, so the GOP cancelled the debate.

Good point - their ‘leadersā are so lacking in integrity/character/good leadership skills that whoever else shouts the loudest or shows himself (itās usually a male conservative) to be a bully who can motivate their bottom feeders automatically gets pushed to the top.
Which means the Republican party will rise or fall with Trump, which in turn means that all of us have to commit to making him fall. Whether you like Hillary or not, register voters, GOTV and take as many people to the polls with you on election day as you can.

GGail, as cool and gorgeous as our FLOTUS is, she is also brilliant. There is probably no aspect of the presidency that she couldnāt handle, but she has enough sense not to get involved in all the nonsense. I would some day love to read/hear her frank assessment of all that her husband has had to endure.

Missouri - well known for talking a long time to count votes and then a recount is needed. This was expected.

Thatās fine. It was extremely close. In some states thereād be an automatic recount with that margin.
But hereās a thought, Bernie: donāt make it rancorous. Try, for once in your life, to look gracious and presidential, and say that, due to the small margin, weād all be better served if we can be assured of accuracy.
I canāt even imagine him considering that kind of dialogue. But the emoprogs want to put him with world leaders?

Bernie and Cruz can recount in Missouri from now until Christmas and it wonāt change the delegate count. Bernie canāt catch up to Clinton. End of story. Cruz canāt canāt catch up to Trump.

i think that it is a mistake to think of Merrick Garland as a centrist….i think of him as an arbiter of rule of law…not one trying to make law…i think that will be surpised
I agree with you, Pf. Because the Republicans (and some on the left) are ideologues and would themselves pick an ideologue for SCOTUS, they assume similar narrow mindedness from the President. But PBO looks at the overriding purpose of the SCOTUS and wants someone who will be fair and make decisions based on the Constitution, but with a clear understanding of the impact on human lives. We have had three jurists-Scalia, Alito and Thomas—who are pure ideologues with no regard whatsoever for the affect of their ruling on real human beings. I donāt need someone whoās partisan; I want someone whoās fair.

Sometimes when Iām listening to President Obama I get carried away with his rhetoric and I start to believe every goddamn thing he says, because truth be hold heās been right about everything heās said. With his latest move though heās pulled the rug out from under the Republicans and painted them into a corner all at the same time. So now the Republicans are forced to say no to a 63-year-old white guy thatās tough on crime to sit on the Supreme Court, wtf. At some point President Obama has to let the Republicans win something, anything. For me personally, it is getting almost boring watching President Obama humiliate and embarrass the Republicans on a daily basis.

Well to be fair, all of the democratic candidates do.. I wanted to see what they were saying to their peeps. I started out most interested in OāMalley.. we see how that worked out. But Iāve continued w/ Hillary & Bernie.. to be honest, I mostly only read emails from POTUS, VP & FLOTUS.
DFA ( Democracy for America), Howard Dean who endorsed BS almost out of the gate, probably helped. Hi everybody :smile:
