watching beebs live show in brexit. London and Scotland are the actual votes that is keeping remain slightly ahead.

It’s the ‘hard working white votes’, there is that phrase again, from other areas (aka pure whites) that is driving the leave votes.

My nephew’s taking his Mom to tomorrow’s event for her birthday!

As for voting in the U.S.: As AMK put it earlier, if Trump can’t be defeated, the general population deserves what it gets. If the Dems can’t figure out how to get their party to show up to vote – and if voters can’t catch a clue from the type of people Trump is attracting – they’ll deserve to be rolled by the Trump nation that is EAGER to get to the polls.

Sending healing thoughts to Chips and her Mom. We were with our Mom when she passed. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of her, but time can make the memories easier.

That is easy to say, but when you will suffer the consequences of a Trump presidency along with the idiots it is hard to say it is deserved. PBO and many of us spent endless hours getting ACA passed and have many improvements that will be lost if Trump wins. I am not sure how, but know we have to win this election.

I’m just pointing out that if there is a significant number of uneducated / fearful / hate-driven voters, we will collectively all pay if there aren’t enough OTHER voters to offset their misguided votes. I’m in that number even though I do vote and know what’s at stake. That’s just an unfortunate side-effect of our democracy.

If America is smart, some of those who don’t already know what’s at stake will start getting a hint from what’s going on in the UK.

        GE, Arapaho!

Tomorrow is going to be a real-time shit show for Donald Trump. He has a presser in Scotland (that voted to to stay 65-35) on top of the entire population despising him and his golf course. I can’t imagine what BS he is going to attempt to talk about regarding currencies, article 50 of EU, and god knows what others topics he is will be clueless on.

May even vote to stay in EU

Frank Luntz…smh I love how British elections/referendums are a harbinger for U.S. results somehow, but elections in Canada are an afterthought 😕

I imagine Trump will end up having a worst day than Romney when he went to London in 2012 during the Olympics.

Saw a tweet awhile ago (hard to keep up, so many tweets the last couple of days — LeBron and Cleveland, John Lewis #NoBillNoBreak, #Brexit) that said that Trump favored “leave” (which is unsurprising, since his base are anti-globalists “America Firsters” aka borrowing Nazi Germany slogan).

So Twitter tomorrow will be unbearable — doomsday from MSM coupled with a crowing Trump — it will an historically awful day for the world. 😦

The Colombian government and the Farc rebels have signed a historic ceasefire deal, bringing them closer to ending more than five decades of conflict.

The announcement is seen as one of the last steps before a full peace deal is signed, which is expected within weeks.

Colombia’s president and the Farc leader shook hands in celebration.

The longest-running insurgency in the Western Hemisphere left an estimated 220,000 people dead and almost seven million displaced.

The announcement in Havana caps formal peace talks that started three years ago in the Cuban capital.

This is really bad….not just in terms of the markets but it will affect our economy the rest of the year. This is exactly the type of recklessness that Trump loves. Janet Yellin projected we would see growth even with Brexit but the global shocks will be widespread. The sheer stupidity caused by the uninformed. The UK has just barely recovered from the recession and now this. Despite all this, I am cautiously optimistic this will be a lesson for US voters as to what happens when you take unnecessary risks with the economy. So frstrating.

    This is who they are.

    We’ve always known this.

There’s an ongoing debate in the chattering classes about the deepest motives of those who support Donald Trump for president…But now comes the Public Religion Research Institute (PRRI) and Brookings with a new survey that adds powerful ammunition to the “It’s the Culture, Stupid!” faction…just listing some of their perceptions in a row will give a good sense of how strongly these folks resent cultural change:

77 percent say it bothers them to come into contact with people who speak little or no English.
81 percent say discrimination against whites is as big a problem as discrimination against minorities.
77 percent say discrimination against Christians in the U.S. is a major problem.
83 percent say the American way of life needs to be protected against foreign influences.
83 percent say the values of Islam are at odds with America’s values and way of life.
80 percent say immigrants constitute a burden on American society.
68 percent say the country has changed mostly for the worse since the 1950s.

Are the words, “no comment” even in his vocabulary? Very recently, he had no clue what Brexit was, much less the ongoing discussion…now he’s being given a few high level talking points and feels comfortable responding to what a reporter said PBO said…no context…no knowledge of US obligations…just basking in the glow in his brain that he was somehow responsible for the outcome of this vote.

Each election, including the mid-terms, I think that surely there is enough going on that citizens would vote to protect their interests. This year, there seem to be back to back to back situations that would make one think SURELY we are not going to chance a Donald Trump — or any GOP for that matter — winning the presidency and maintaining a GOP House and Senate. SURELY we have learned *something* over the past 7 – 8 years.
