Beautiful. To everyone here, especially Chipsticks, have a peaceful and blessed Thanksgiving with family and friends. This site is the highlight of my day. I am grateful for you being here to support our wonderful president and each other.
Happy Thanks Giving all. I want to share a great moment that happened for all of us today. I was in my store and a woman and I started talking. I asked her what she had planned to do for Thanksgiving. She was buying a few things and driving up the coast of Florida to see her brother. He is in the Air Force. She told me he was heading to Iraq at the end of the month. I told her I don’t know your politics but the President said he was bring the troops home by the end of the year. I asked why he was going to Iraq right now…she said “Oh, yes he is going to Iraq but also Kuwait and then Afghanistan”…I looked at her puzzled. She smiled and said, “HE IS GOING TO BRING OUR TROOPS HOME!!!” His brigade is the one that brings equipment and troops OUT of war!!! He will be making several trips from Iraq to Kuwait and back…what shocked me was….HE IS GOING TO BE DOING THE SAME THING IN AFGHANISTAN SOON!!!
Ditto, Lynn. I can’t imagine getting through the day without this diary. Chips gives us a gift each day and I am very, very grateful for it. Happy Thanksgiving to all the sharp minds and caring hearts that make up this family. And thank you, Chips, for working miracles every day.
It’s been a while since I’ve been here, because I’ve been without a computer for some time now. I just spent the last 2 hours catching up on several weeks’ worth of posts, and I am reminded why I love this site so much.
I wish Chip and all the TOD members and their loved ones a wonderful Thanksgiving. Treasure this time with your family and friends. In the end, the memories you’ve shared with them are all you have.
Hi Hachiko. Welcome back. It’s such a coincident seeing a post from you tonight. Believe it or not, I was just thinking about you this morning. You may not know me. I used to be a lurker here on TOD, but now I’m a fullfledged member of the wonderful TOD Family. Aren’t you the person who relocated about a year or so ago from Florida to NY, I think? Way back in the day when I first came to TOD, I remember seeing a very long thread devoted to your adventures while traveling with your pet dog in a rented U-haul across the Southeast. I also recall how the then small family of TODders were so relieved that you had made it safely to your destination. I remember being so impressed that Chipsticks would devote a whole thread to your adventures, and everyone who commented seemed so caring. Seeing all of the love that was shown to you made me de-lurk and become an active member of TOD. I haven’t seen many posts from you since your move, but I always had hoped that everything would be okay for you.
Coincidently, I thought of you this morning was when I saw a tweet from someone asking whether or not the President had done the traditional turkey pardon yet. Someone replied to the tweeter’s request that a thread with pictures of the presidential pardon were posted over at theobamadiary.com. Even though the tweeter’s screen name was not “Hachiko “(it was “marabout”), for some reason I thought of you. And here you showed up at TOD tonight after being gone from awhile. Glad to see you’re back.

I know how frustrating it is to be without a computer and wondered what was going on with the President and knew I could go to TOD and find out but didn’t have a screen to see. I hope that things are well with you and I also remember your trip and marabout in a past life on another site. I hope you are able to stay and things are fixed with the computer problem. I agree with everything everyone else is saying. I am so thankful for The Obama Dairy, Miss Chips!!!!! and the whole TOD family! You all are such an important part of my life. I am thankful for the Obama family and the Biden family. I am thankful for my health and for my wonderful husband of 40 years and my children. I have so much to be thankful for. I hope all of you have a beautiful and wonderful day tomorrow.

I echo the sentiments of all of you that call this place “home”. I have much to be thankful for, most especially Our First Family, The Second Family, and all of you here that make my days (and nights) so much fun….see, learning IS fun! Very Happy Thanksgiving to everyone….share love with your friends and family, and do some small act of kindness for others…everyday.

President Barack Obama no longer an underdog (but let’s still act like he is.) This is the second positive article today found at Yahoo! headlines. They must be celebrating Opposite Day over there. I honestly don’t know what’s going on:
“Pretty much since the day he was elected president of the United States in November 2008, Barack Obama has been the favorite on prediction markets like Intrade and Betfair to win re-election for a second term, as most incumbents do. That changed in September and October, when the budget stalemate and grim economic news turned Obama, for the first time, into an underdog.
But after bottoming out on October 8, when the prediction markets gave him a 48 percent chance of winning re-election, Obama has slowly and steadily climbed back to his August levels. His current odds, computed as an average of Intrade and Betfair, give him a 51.4 percent chance to win.
Obama’s poll results and approval ratings are ticking up now, too. While it’s tempting to credit scandals (exhibit C and G) or infighting among Obama’s potential Republican rivals, or Republican stubbornness in the ongoing deficit reduction debate, the simplest explanation harkens back to the signature phrase of Bill Clinton’s first presidential campaign, “It’s the economy, stupid.”

If willard tries that “It’s the economy, stupid”..which why not, he’ll try anything? I say the Obama Campaign fires back with “NO, it’s about The People vs Corporations.. and they’re not people, stupid.”

What a great clip. I love hearing him talk about his mother in the present tense and not in the past. She did get to see him clearly heading on the path to greatness and must’ve thought all this was possible, which warms my heart.
It’s an interesting piece of historical study now with what he’s become. Notice the point where she says, “community leader,” and the young future President corrects her and insists it’s understood that it’s community “organizer,” implying that it’s a very important point to understand that it’s not about one singular “leader.” (about 9:30 in) A very telling moment.
I had been given this book by my better half after President Obama became an Illinois Senator in 2004 and was moved by it even then. How great to see him talking about it 10 years earlier and with the same intellectual power he shows today…and not a teleprompter in sight! I’m so thankful to be alive while this man and his family are in the White House.
Thanks Rock..what a great Thanksgiving Day Gift! I then looked up when Stanley Ann passed on and more of her life story in wiwipedia. She passed on Nov 7, 2025 and coincidently my mother passed on Nov 7, 1997.
I like this quote on her life very much..

Although we had our Thanksgiving over a month ago it never hurts to express thankfulness, so here goes!
I am thankful for President Barack Obama, FL Michelle Obama, FD’s Malia & Sacha Obama.
I am thankful for Mrs. Robinson, whose care of the First Daughters lessens their parents’ stress.
I am also thankful for Joe & Dr. Jill Biden and their children and their down to earth, caring lifestyles.

Thank you Chips for all you do. I want to remember those who might be alone this Thanksgiving. I remember the years I was alone and made my day a blessing for myself by serving at a shelter-it made all the difference. I also am grateful for whatever gave me my attitude and belief system-God, my parents, my education-whatever. I am so grateful to have a heart that feels compassion for the less fortunate. It’s a blessing that serves me well. I don’t quite know how to explain it-maybe I’m just glad to not have a Republic heart! Hope someone understands what I mean. Happy Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Chips, I want you to know that I have made a list of great blogs to hand out to volunteers I’ve recruited through OFA Detroit. TOD, my favorite, is at the top of that list. I was inspired to do so by many volunteers who are very unhappy with the way PBO is covered. My suggestion to them is you do have other options. Your hard work makes it possible for those who love the President to see his work on our behalf covered with fairness and respect. Thank you for that.

Lawrence O’Donnell sure smacked down Romney tonight. The end of his show is a must see. He repeatedly called Romney out in his rewrite for the liar that he is.
I’m pretty sure that this was in Philadelphia when Pres. (then candidate) Obama stopped in 4 different neighborhoods of Philadelphia in one day!!! Yeah, baby! He had folks offering to bring pies on the campaign trail and to the White House for him!!! LOLOLOL

I was there and it was funny. Looking at the You Tube sight on this video, it amazes me that the likes are about 1100, but the dislikes are over 680. Imagine that hateful people seek out these videos to disparage PBO, and really its because they cannot get with the fact that he was elected, handily, over McCain. It would be funny if it weren’t so pathetic. If all goes as seemingly predicted, they have a whole 4 more years to be miserable. I shall not gloat
Just took a commercial break from my movie and caught Lawry taking it to the no good, good for nothing lame stream media. Called their rag tag asses out and used the carpet to roll up their nasty carcasses. That’s what I’m talking ’bout. Nasty ass media needs to be taken out with the trash. Back to Gone with the WInd, Scarlet just told Rhett that she didn’t want to sleep with him anymore. Rhett told her he’ll “seek comfort elsewhere” and slammed outta the room! Having watched this movie many times from the age of 12. It took me till age 17, freshman year of college one Sunday afternoon while cooking in the communal kitchen to get what the look on Scarlett’s face at 41 seconds meant
Very late to the conversation, just thought I’d mention a couple of things that have probably been said earlier today:
1. I heard on NPR that Pres. Obama will be mentoring two young men from the charter school that used to be called Anacostia High School in DC - what a great example he is. When he was elected I started volunteering just once a month at a health center, to honor his spirit of giving, but recently I’ve been thinking about quitting, now I know I will keep doing it because if he can do it with his schedule, I sure can.
2. Lots of news on the radio today about people traveling more this Thanksgiving weekend because they are feeling more confident about the economy. I’m sure the Republicans are wishing they would all stay home.
Those two blessed young men better get ready for all the work the President will be giving them. I can see him assigning them books to read, and papers to write, etc… As per Reggie Love he worked 18 hours a day just to keep up with all his tasks for the President..
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your Family!. And, Happy Thanksgiving to all the wonderful people and their families who make up the TOD family. One of the things I am thankful of this year is having discovered this blog, which fosters a deep sense of community. I am grateful for finding this site where people can seriously discuss issues, but still find time to laugh and have fun. I am especially thankful that many people here who are passionately committed to supporting the President also take time to support one another during difficult times.

At this ‘center table’ we have learned to appreciate the beautiful gift that we were given in 2008, now our Beloved President, Barack Obama.

Here is what I’m most grateful for this Thanksgiving: that I’m able to be grateful. Gratitude is one of the keys to living a happy life. What a wonderful interview! Such consistency. It’s is striking how different the language of democrats is from that of GOP: we talk about fairness, justice, education for all, investment in our common future, virtues of diversity while they talk about the “Other”, fear, small government and no taxes, and of course, war. The contrast is stark whenever you look at those who attend debates, campaign stops for GOP (shades of white) and President Obama (rainbow). Out of many we are one, while we breathe, we hope. Yes we can!

I like the clip where FLOTUS contacted the military spouse. It would have been great if we could have heard more from Jessica vs. FLOTUS to get a sense of her thoughts. It looked like the Jessica had something to say to FLOTUS but didn’t get a chance to express them.

I’d welcome it because I think he’d pull a lot more from the Republican side - he’s seen as Wall Street’s best friend. That was basically a fluff piece, and Bloomberg isn’t the giant the piece makes him out to be. He barely won re-election after changing the law in NY so he could run for a third term. Also he wouldn’t play well in Red State America. He’s another Giuliani -NYC Mayors get big heads to think they matter much more than they do. Giuliani also had a much bigger national political profile.
I think Bloomberg’s focus will be back on his media interests where he might look to take on Fox, and offer up a middle of the road, non-hyper partisan type network that doesn’t scream and shout and doesn’t allow anybody on connected to a campaign or politician to come and do nothing but spew talking points.
Bloomberg isn’t running for President. He *may* take a run at Cuomo for NY Governor, but not president. He has too many thing that can be used against him in a national election, and he wants to finish turning NYC into a city for multimillionaires.
* He used his Wall Street dollars to buy off the city council when he wanted to sidestep term limits. He spent more than 100 million on the election and only won by 5 percentage points. (Bill Thompson spent under 10 million on his campaign.)

Although we do not celebrate the day in Montserrat, it falls in the month that we hold our church harvest celebrations in which we too send up to the Almighty our heartfelt gratitude and thanks.
This morning, I prayed a special thank you prayer for President Obama, his family, his administration and the US men annd women in uniform whose sacrifices secure not only the American people but people everywhere, even in a tiny island such as Montserrat. I aslo thanked our God for those people, especially TODers who are working diligently to ensure the president’s re-election. Then my spirit stirred within me and I found myself thanking Him for the land-slide victory in 2012 for President Obama because some chronic red states will turn blue and those that became blue in 2008 will become bluer. It’s as if the Master above was giving me the message to pass on.
Stay strong and positive everyone; and every day for the next year, right up to election day, let us take a few minutes to thank God for the president’s victory at the polls. Thank Him as if it was already done. With our joint faith, we will destroy every evil plot that targets him and his family.

WORKING THE PHONES: President Obama spent Thanksgiving morning calling two members of each branch of the military and thanking them for their service overseas, according to a pool report.
The White House did not release the names of the 10 service members called.
Later, the president will sit down to a Thanksgiving feast with unidentified “friends, family and staff,” the pool reports.
On the menu: Turkey, ham, cornbread stuffing, oyster stuffing, greens, macaroni and cheese, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole and dinner rolls. An array of pies will be offered for dessert.

Chips puts the msm to shame. The coverage of President Obama is just exemplary. I still can’t get over the coverage of the trip to Australia and Bali. Just amazing reporting. The msm coverage of the trip was pathetic. I wish everyone could see the West Wing Week about the trip. It’s exhausting to think of all of the work and planning that went into those hectic 9 days.

Hope Chips doesn’t mind, but I have this final request for help for the kidlets at the school I teach in. Some of you may already know (from a previous post) that our sound system in our elementary school is tragic. Those poor kids work SO hard to put on plays, and presentations, and all kinds of things throughout the year. I just watched the kindergartners put on a Thanksgiving celebration that was so adorable….
But we can’t hear them, so one of the guys I work with, found out that Pepsi is awarding money to the top 15 vote getters…$10,000, that we would use for this brand spanking new sound system!
There is no money to give, but I DID find out that you can TEXT your vote!!!!! Probably easier to do that, than to remember to vote online. So, I would like to ask this wonderful community to help us reach our goal. We would be deeply grateful.

What a misleading video that is. I couldn’t even finish it. I’m really tired of people thinking this is all about the bank bailout. They paid the frickin’ money back! The bailout for AIG will eventually turn a profit. This is about taxes, not bailouts. This is about investing those tax dollars in America, not prosecuting illegal wars. If we had taken that 1.5 trillion dollars we spent on the Iraq war and invested it in schools and high speed rail and infrastructure and R&D over the past ten years, we wouldn’t be in the place we are now.

Chips, I was busy preparing the whole dinner(which I truly enjoy). Just to see the faces and everyone enjoying each other. It is late and I cannot sleep without thanking you once again for what a great job that you do here. I am grateful. Now, that the house is quiet. I come here to rejuvinate to get ready for the next task to help get our President re-elected.
@Socsweet and Prayer Warrior, even though I am not from the Islands, I am a Prayer Warrior in NYC. Actually, in walking distance from Rev. Al’s headquarters. As the campaing gears up, with Ms. Chips’ consent, I have been feeling in my spirit that we must fast and pray constantly and persistently for our President and his family. Also, for the people around him and the U.S.
I truly believe in the power of Prayer and the lies are coming vicious and vile much sooner than I imagine. As a first time, full time volunteer, it hurts my heart when people say things that are rude, racist and just plain mean about this caring, gentle soul. The ones who have the audacity to say that they are disappointed or the President has not “lived up to their expections” just really gets me motivated to get out and canvass, phone bank, donate, educate. Don’t stop fasting and praying regardless what it looks like, feels like, smells like……

Happy Thanks Giving all. I want to share a great moment that happened for all of us today. I was in my store and a woman and I started talking. I asked her what she had planned to do for Thanksgiving. She was buying a few things and driving up the coast of Florida to see her brother. He is in the Air Force. She told me he was heading to Iraq at the end of the month. I told her I don’t know your politics but the President said he was bring the troops home by the end of the year. I asked why he was going to Iraq right now…she said “Oh, yes he is going to Iraq but also Kuwait and then Afghanistan”…I looked at her puzzled. She smiled and said, “HE IS GOING TO BRING OUR TROOPS HOME!!!” His brigade is the one that brings equipment and troops OUT of war!!! He will be making several trips from Iraq to Kuwait and back…what shocked me was….HE IS GOING TO BE DOING THE SAME THING IN AFGHANISTAN SOON!!!
I thought I heard/read some whispering about winding down in Afghanistan…soon! If this true…great news!

Hi Hachiko. Welcome back. It’s such a coincident seeing a post from you tonight. Believe it or not, I was just thinking about you this morning. You may not know me. I used to be a lurker here on TOD, but now I’m a fullfledged member of the wonderful TOD Family. Aren’t you the person who relocated about a year or so ago from Florida to NY, I think? Way back in the day when I first came to TOD, I remember seeing a very long thread devoted to your adventures while traveling with your pet dog in a rented U-haul across the Southeast. I also recall how the then small family of TODders were so relieved that you had made it safely to your destination. I remember being so impressed that Chipsticks would devote a whole thread to your adventures, and everyone who commented seemed so caring. Seeing all of the love that was shown to you made me de-lurk and become an active member of TOD.
I haven’t seen many posts from you since your move, but I always had hoped that everything would be okay for you.
Coincidently, I thought of you this morning was when I saw a tweet from someone asking whether or not the President had done the traditional turkey pardon yet. Someone replied to the tweeter’s request that a thread with pictures of the presidential pardon were posted over at theobamadiary.com. Even though the tweeter’s screen name was not “Hachiko “(it was “marabout”), for some reason I thought of you. And here you showed up at TOD tonight after being gone from awhile. Glad to see you’re back.
Hachiko, Welcome back. I too just thouht of you this week. I know how frustrating it is to be without a computer and wondered what was going on with the President and knew I could go to TOD and find out but didn’t have a screen to see. I hope that things are well with you and I also remember your trip and marabout in a past life on another site. I hope you are able to stay and things are fixed with the computer problem. President Barack Obama no longer an underdog (but let’s still act like he is.) This is the second positive article today found at Yahoo! headlines. They must be celebrating Opposite Day over there. I honestly don’t know what’s going on:
“Pretty much since the day he was elected president of the United States in November 2008, Barack Obama has been the favorite on prediction markets like Intrade and Betfair to win re-election for a second term, as most incumbents do. That changed in September and October, when the budget stalemate and grim economic news turned Obama, for the first time, into an underdog.

Happy Turkey Day everybody…Here’s a Pres. Obama flashback from 1995
What a great clip. I love hearing him talk about his mother in the present tense and not in the past. She did get to see him clearly heading on the path to greatness and must’ve thought all this was possible, which warms my heart.
It’s an interesting piece of historical study now with what he’s become. Notice the point where she says, “community leader,” and the young future President corrects her and insists it’s understood that it’s community “organizer,” implying that it’s a very important point to understand that it’s not about one singular “leader.” (about 9:30 in) A very telling moment.
I had been given this book by my better half after President Obama became an Illinois Senator in 2004 and was moved by it even then. How great to see him talking about it 10 years earlier and with the same intellectual power he shows today…and not a teleprompter in sight! I’m so thankful to be alive while this man and his family are in the White House.

Thank you Chips for all you do. I want to remember those who might be alone this Thanksgiving. I remember the years I was alone and made my day a blessing for myself by serving at a shelter-it made all the difference. I also am grateful for whatever gave me my attitude and belief system-God, my parents, my education-whatever. I am so grateful to have a heart that feels compassion for the less fortunate. It’s a blessing that serves me well. I don’t quite know how to explain it-maybe I’m just glad to not have a Republic heart! Hope someone understands what I mean. Happy Thanksgiving.

TOD, my favorite, is at the top of that list. I was inspired to do so by many volunteers who are very unhappy with the way PBO is covered. My suggestion to them is you do have other options. Your hard work makes it possible for those who love the President to see his work on our behalf covered with fairness and respect. Thank you for that.

Very late to the conversation, just thought I’d mention a couple of things that have probably been said earlier today:
1. I heard on NPR that Pres. Obama will be mentoring two young men from the charter school that used to be called Anacostia High School in DC - what a great example he is. When he was elected I started volunteering just once a month at a health center, to honor his spirit of giving, but recently I’ve been thinking about quitting, now I know I will keep doing it because if he can do it with his schedule, I sure can.
2. Lots of news on the radio today about people traveling more this Thanksgiving weekend because they are feeling more confident about the economy. I’m sure the Republicans are wishing they would all stay home.

I am grateful for finding this site where people can seriously discuss issues, but still find time to laugh and have fun. I spoke earlier, but now I want to speak at the close of the evening for me to my gentle spirit, Chipsticks and my TOD Family.
I want to say, “Thank you Chipsticks for following your heart to create this beautiful have for all of us. By your actions and courage you have given our family a ‘center table’ to gather around daily to refresh our minds and souls with goodness, kindness, and respectfulness.
At this ‘center table’ we have learned to appreciate the beautiful gift that we were given in 2008, now our Beloved President, Barack Obama.
At this ‘Center Table’ on the Eve of a most celebrated holiday in our free country, we can express our thanks with our hearts by giving words, love, and support to our beautiful Chipsticks and family for allowing us to share precious time, and a spirit filled with so much inspiration daily.
At this ‘Center Table’, we will give thanks on this Eve of Thanksgiving for our haven of peace, a restul place, and an intellectual well of information.
At this ‘Center Table’, we give thanks for the many days and nights of pure laughter that sustained so many of us all across this globe sharing the precious moments of pain, sorrows of our souls.

What a wonderful interview! Such consistency. It’s is striking how different the language of democrats is from that of GOP: we talk about fairness, justice, education for all, investment in our common future, virtues of diversity while they talk about the “Other”, fear, small government and no taxes, and of course, war. The contrast is stark whenever you look at those who attend debates, campaign stops for GOP (shades of white) and President Obama (rainbow). Out of many we are one, while we breathe, we hope. I’d welcome it because I think he’d pull a lot more from the Republican side - he’s seen as Wall Street’s best friend. That was basically a fluff piece, and Bloomberg isn’t the giant the piece makes him out to be. He barely won re-election after changing the law in NY so he could run for a third term. Also he wouldn’t play well in Red State America. He’s another Giuliani -NYC Mayors get big heads to think they matter much more than they do. Giuliani also had a much bigger national political profile.
I think Bloomberg’s focus will be back on his media interests where he might look to take on Fox, and offer up a middle of the road, non-hyper partisan type network that doesn’t scream and shout and doesn’t allow anybody on connected to a campaign or politician to come and do nothing but spew talking points.
Bloomberg isn’t running for President. He *may* take a run at Cuomo for NY Governor, but not president. He has too many thing that can be used against him in a national election, and he wants to finish turning NYC into a city for multimillionaires.
* He used his Wall Street dollars to buy off the city council when he wanted to sidestep term limits. He spent more than 100 million on the election and only won by 5 percentage points. (Bill Thompson spent under 10 million on his campaign.)

This morning, I prayed a special thank you prayer for President Obama, his family, his administration and the US men annd women in uniform whose sacrifices secure not only the American people but people everywhere, even in a tiny island such as Montserrat. I aslo thanked our God for those people, especially TODers who are working diligently to ensure the president’s re-election. Then my spirit stirred within me and I found myself thanking Him for the land-slide victory in 2012 for President Obama because some chronic red states will turn blue and those that became blue in 2008 will become bluer. It’s as if the Master above was giving me the message to pass on.
Stay strong and positive everyone; and every day for the next year, right up to election day, let us take a few minutes to thank God for the president’s victory at the polls. Thank Him as if it was already done. With our joint faith, we will destroy every evil plot that targets him and his family.

WORKING THE PHONES: President Obama spent Thanksgiving morning calling two members of each branch of the military and thanking them for their service overseas, according to a pool report.
The White House did not release the names of the 10 service members called.
Later, the president will sit down to a Thanksgiving feast with unidentified “friends, family and staff,” the pool reports.

Chips puts the msm to shame. The coverage of President Obama is just exemplary. I still can’t get over the coverage of the trip to Australia and Bali. Just amazing reporting. The msm coverage of the trip was pathetic. I wish everyone could see the West Wing Week about the trip. It’s exhausting to think of all of the work and planning that went into those hectic 9 days.

Hope Chips doesn’t mind, but I have this final request for help for the kidlets at the school I teach in. Some of you may already know (from a previous post) that our sound system in our elementary school is tragic. Those poor kids work SO hard to put on plays, and presentations, and all kinds of things throughout the year. I just watched the kindergartners put on a Thanksgiving celebration that was so adorable….
But we can’t hear them, so one of the guys I work with, found out that Pepsi is awarding money to the top 15 vote getters…$10,000, that we would use for this brand spanking new sound system!
There is no money to give, but I DID find out that you can TEXT your vote!!!!! Probably easier to do that, than to remember to vote online. So, I would like to ask this wonderful community to help us reach our goal. We would be deeply grateful.

What a misleading video that is. I couldn’t even finish it. I’m really tired of people thinking this is all about the bank bailout. They paid the frickin’ money back! The bailout for AIG will eventually turn a profit. This is about taxes, not bailouts. This is about investing those tax dollars in America, not prosecuting illegal wars. If we had taken that 1.5 trillion dollars we spent on the Iraq war and invested it in schools and high speed rail and infrastructure and R&D over the past ten years, we wouldn’t be in the place we are now.

I’m at work now, but I bought my paper this morning. When I get off, I’m gonna go home and start comparative shopping and I might just have to go and stand out at Best Buy for that damn tv. I got my IPad, I got my IPhone and I got a blanket, this may be the first time I ever do this, but I’m thinking really hard
The other thing I might do, is if I can find a good size TV and still be able to get a good deal from the original price, then I could do that instead of throwing ‘bows at Best Buy and such…lol

I know its a happy thread but I wanted to share this today because I might forget tomorrow. An organizer of Occupy DC wrote an article on Salon basically telling Van Jones to stay away from OWS. The writer cites Ralph Nader and also Glen Greenwald who told OWS to stay away from Unions. So OWS doesn’t want help from Van Jones or Unions because they fear being co-opted BUT grifters like Greenwald, Moore, West, Hamsher and the like can come along any time? Got it.

Chips, I was busy preparing the whole dinner(which I truly enjoy). Just to see the faces and everyone enjoying each other. It is late and I cannot sleep without thanking you once again for what a great job that you do here. I am grateful. Now, that the house is quiet. I come here to rejuvinate to get ready for the next task to help get our President re-elected.
@Socsweet and Prayer Warrior, even though I am not from the Islands, I am a Prayer Warrior in NYC. Actually, in walking distance from Rev. Al’s headquarters. As the campaing gears up, with Ms. Chips’ consent, I have been feeling in my spirit that we must fast and pray constantly and persistently for our President and his family. Also, for the people around him and the U.S.
I truly believe in the power of Prayer and the lies are coming vicious and vile much sooner than I imagine. As a first time, full time volunteer, it hurts my heart when people say things that are rude, racist and just plain mean about this caring, gentle soul. The ones who have the audacity to say that they are disappointed or the President has not “lived up to their expections” just really gets me motivated to get out and canvass, phone bank, donate, educate. Don’t stop fasting and praying regardless what it looks like, feels like, smells like……

PBO has the latest IPad and a computer in his work/personal office, which is not the Oval. He also managed to keep a Blackberry when those about him said that he would have to give it up. He is the techiest president anywhere.
