    A Couple in their nineties are both having problems remembering things. During a check-up, the doctor tells them that they’re physically okay, but they might want to start writing things down to help them remember.
    Later that night, while watching TV, the old man gets up from his chair. ‘Want anything while I’m in the kitchen?’ he asks.

    ‘Will you get me a bowl of ice cream? ‘ she asks.
    ‘Sure.’

    ‘Don’t you think you should write it down so you can remember it?’ she asks.

    ‘No, I can remember it.’

    ‘Well, I’d like some strawberries on top, too. Maybe you should write it down, so as not to forget it?’

    He says, ‘I can remember that. You want a bowl of ice cream with strawberries.’

    ‘I’d also like whipped cream. I’m certain you’ll forget that, write it down?’ she asks.

    Irritated, he says, ‘I don’t need to write it down, I can remember it! Ice cream with strawberries and whipped cream - I got it, for goodness sake!’

    Then he toddles into the kitchen. After about 20 minutes, the old man returns from the kitchen and hands his wife a plate of bacon and eggs. She stares at the plate for a moment.

    ‘Where’s my toast?’

    Steamed carrots, smothered in a sauce of evoo, honey, and stone ground mustard

    The #MIC ONLY cares about $$$$. So, perhaps the way out of this hell that has been created by humanity, just imagine if all Governments paid the #MIC exactly the same amount, annually, to NOT manufacture any weapons and paid them a bonus if they created a recycling program for all the weapons that currently exist. The ecological benefits alone would be astonishing. The moral benefits would transform our species.

      Let’s focus on the avaricious #MIC and evaluate the upside to them of the US and other Governments paying them precisely the same amount of $$$ to NOT produce any form of weapon.

      Firstly, they’ve retained their obscenely high-margin cash flow.

      Secondly, they can divert their innovation, design, manufacturing, marketing, logistics delivery and servicing processes to multiple other products. For instance, developing and selling highly efficient, solar-powered desalination systems. Anyone doubt that drinkable water isn’t a cash cow is brain dead. I can spend hours detailing all the upside to the global #MIC, if they are subsidized not to produce more weapons and are incentivized to do produce a wide range of highly valuable, profitable products.

      Simple, totally self-serving example: All these uber-wealthy #MICSTERS (#NEOCONSTERS) live in fortresses and employee personal security forces to protect them. That’s a lot of operational overhead that could simply be more profit if, instead of being in the business of efficiently enabling slaughter they were manufacturing stuff that preserved our ecosystem (which they need just as much as some homeless person) and meant that they weren’t living in constant fear of someone popping them.

      Happy to expand in all the dimensions of value add, for everyone, my recommendation to President Obama enables, if he or anyone is interested. No point in wasting bandwidth and people’s time, otherwise.

            To Steve Kornacki? Because that’s how people communicate with the show. They can use the #Uppers hashtag, or the show’s twitter handle @UpWithSteve, or Steve’s personal twitter handle @SteveKornacki. The show monitors the hashtag most of the time I believe, and uses it to take note of and address complaints or mistakes or facts they might have overlooked during a segment.

                If viewers wanted to address issues about the Rachel Maddow show, they would use the #Maddow hashtag or tweet her and her show directly.

                When Kornacki receives a multitude of complaints about how he’s covering an issue on his own show (Up With Steve Kornacki) or not introducing relevant facts that can enhance the conversation, he has sometimes acknowledged those complaints and asked the questions that viewers demanded he ask of his guests.

      This is where I moved from… and before I got sick, I worked for Homeland Security in this small town doing the accounts.. one of my jobs was to track what was stored beneath/underground of this town— by oil companies… because part of our responsibilities was first responders to any possible fire/ explosion. What is buried/ stored under/ around Williston ND is frightening… and with the ongoing oil boom.. it is even more concerning. One thing I noticed there is the long history of cancer- in a town of (what used to be until the ‘boom’) 12,000 people… I kid you not, that I never met anyone in that town that didn’t have at least one member of their family with some form of cancer.

    Article says that 230 armed Australians are on their way to Ukraine to retrieve Australians aboard #MH17 and that the Labor Party leader supports this action.

    Very dangerous for those Aussies. The separatists take orders from Putin and don’t seem like the reasonable sort at all.

        And probably untrue - as per my link below and reply to arapaho. PM Abbott initially blamed Putin for the crash - he has since calmed down and now says all he wants to do at the minute is bring our people home. Like too many politicians he talks first and thinks later.

        “Our whole and sole purpose is to claim our dead and bring them home as quickly as we can and that is what this next phase of operation bring them home is all about.”

        There will be a total of 49 police on site, 11 of whom will be Australian, although that number is expected to increase over the coming days.

        Mr Abbott has acknowledged it is a “risky” move but says his advice is that it is safer for the police not to be armed.

        “Frankly, we need to be prepared to take some risks in order to do the right thing by our dead and by their grieving families,” he said.

        “But we want to minimise risk, we want to mitigate against risk, and the overwhelming advice … is that the best way to do that is through that unarmed, police-led humanitarian mission.”

        Reading around it seems the PM initially wanted some to be armed - seems someone in the government told him this was somewhat insane.

        We have had a most delightful, political news free weekend, which continues tomorrow (Monday). I am usually better off not knowing what PM Abbott is doing - saves the sanity.

      According to what I read - the word is “unarmed”

      Prime Minister Tony Abbott says unarmed federal police officers will go to the Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 crash site tonight as part of an international mission to recover remains.

      Mr Abbott says the AFP officers will be part of a Dutch-led humanitarian mission to recover remains, seek to remove wreckage and help investigators.

      There will be a total of 49 police on site, 11 of whom will be Australian, although that number is expected to increase over the coming days.

    It is being reported that Israeli has resumed its bombing of Gaza…reportedly because they were being shelled by the Palestinians…however after Israel misled the world about the kidnapping and murder of the 3 Israeli teens…whose to say that they are telling the truth about this…Israel’s goal is to get rid of their so-called Palestine problem by annihilating the Palestinians

        I do not know…but one of the things that has been reinforced is how you have to be very careful who you trust in the media…esp with so many conflicting reports and out and out lies that have been told….amazing…. but we should already be aware of this…based on the coverage that out President receives…
