Their racism killed their child.

Just had an infant die that I could’ve saved, but parents said no nigger nurses
FierceFemtivist @FierceFemtivist
I am the most qualified peds cardiac nurse in this facility. I knew exactly what to do…ive done it a million times before…but..
FierceFemtivist @FierceFemtivist
The father, with his confederate flag shirt and camouflage pants, made sure I didn’t get in the room. And now his child is dead.

FierceFemtivist @FierceFemtivist
The dad threatened to bash our faces in if I so much as stepped foot in the room. I walked in anyways, trying to talk the other nurse thru

This is the second time in my career this has happened. Babies whose lives I could’ve saved, dead bc parents refused “Nigger Nurses”…
FierceFemtivist @FierceFemtivist
Staff standing around stunned. Sobbing. Meanwhile dad’s only comment is “make sure no niggers touch my kids body”…while staring at me.
So ignorance, Hatred and idiocy killed their child?
Who is going to be arrested for this?
I have seen where a Judge or rather where charges are filed against parents for deny coverage for their child due to some Religious beliefs. Why can’t there be charges here due to Racism?
And the sad, sick thing is that it was the innocent baby who suffered, not the despicable, racist father. He’s a murderer and I hope there is a fit punishment for him one day.
At least she didn’t have an abortion - would have been terrible if the babe had died before birth - 100:1 on - they also belong to the “pro life” team.
I doubt it’s trolling. That nurse was pribably venting something she couldn’t prove anyway because of HIPAA law. I hope those parent’s lives and souls are ruined for eternity.
My cousin had/saw similar things happen when she was a hospice chaplain. In her case, it was about trying to give comfort to someone who everyone knew was at the end. Still heart wrenching. In one case it was the family, not the patient who insisted she stay away. Patient overhead her say something to someone else in the hallway that reminded him about his time in the military. He asked if she served and where. She did, and they got to talking and bonded a little over that. Last few days of his life he’d ask her to come read the bible to him. Family, of course, refused to let her even attend the funeral. Told her “your services no longer required.” Wouldn’t even let her in the church. Southern Baptists.
There is no question that the African American coalition of voters is solidly behind President Obama. His successes while in office and his legacy after office means everything to us. If we know that you have PBO’s back then we will have your back. This is the problem that Bernie Sanders has with the African American community. Not only do we as a collective group not know who he is those of us that do know him never felt like he was in the President’s corner. He was one of those far left annoyances who always went on cable and radio and stated that PBO was veering too far to the Right to be a “True Progressive”. Honestly that is my only memory of Sanders before this election.
Now he wants our votes and can’t understand since he marched with MLK and has a stellar civil rights record that we don’t #FeelTheBern.
The man never spoke to us. His complements for the arduous work that Obama/Biden did to turn this country around were all but non-existent before his run for President. So now it feels like he is pandering to us for votes. Now that he is being questioned and called out by people like O’Malley he wants us to believe that he always supported PBO. Yeah Right!
I have absolutely no memory of this man addressing Black issues when he was on cable and radio before this campaign. It was all Wall Street, Oligarchy and the top 1% in other words, speaking exclusively to The Occupy Wall Street Crowd.
He now understands that he needs us to win. Telling the media that PBO should be challenged in 2012, calling him naïve for thinking he could work to get things done and calling for a political revolution won’t move many of us in his direction in my opinion. We tend to have long memories and those in the Obama Campaign from the tweet below apparently remember things just as I do.
The Obama Campaign Remembers 2012 Very Differently Than Bernie Sanders https://t.co/FELjDt2HSS via @evanmcsan @buzzfeednews
Indeed donna. I also think that Bernie is now realizing that the crowd he initially spoke to and for - i.e., the young, while, and mostly male “dudebro” contingent are NOT reliable voters - if they do vote at all. They would just as easily vote for Trump, or sit at home playing video games or venting their grievances online while not lifting a finger to go to the polls or get people there.
Hf, the other thing they are NOT is workers. It’s all very well to talk about “the Bern” and go on twitter and praise him and its quite another thing to be out knocking on doors and making thousands of phone calls and delivering people come to the polls. It was blood, sweat, endless toil and tears (re sore feet and hoarse voices that) made the presidency of Barack Obama possible. It was the commitment to vote no matter what the obstacles, the willingness to endure the hardship of long lines and harsh weather. I don’t see that kind of dedication coming from Bernie supporters.
Exactly - they are mostly entitled brats who think that things work when people just yell and bully their way through. Have no concept of working to build something from scratch.
Had this conversation with a woman in my office. She brought up his marching with MLK and registering voters back in the day. I acknowledged that and then explained that I thought Bernie did not get it. Right now children were been gunned down by cops and his economic program was not going to fix that aspect of racism. He never stood up to the birthers or when people trashed the first lady….his concern did not extend to her. I told her that his lack of respect and silence in the face of racism towards the first family turned me off and I am not AA. I also mentioned that he has not been for meaningful gun control and important issue for me. I also told her he could not win without AAs and he seemed clueless as to how to have a conversation and not lecture.
To my mind, in addition to his record I don’t get the sense that he gets it. When asked a question about race, he immediately starts in with the issue with cops, as if that it is the only issue. I have never had any feeling that he gets the structural racism that exists in this country and I say that as a white person who would never support him. And as to his “revolution”, Sanders will never have the kind of turnout organization that PBO and OFA have had, he simply did not start early enough to build it. And look how PBO has struggled to keep everyone involved. If he thinks he can get all of his supporters to show up after the election to rally day in and day out, he is living in fantasy world. Finally, this sudden love fest for PBO after the times he dissed him will never cut it with me. I have a very long memory.

Please, please let this Nordstrom idea take hold. We’re barely into November, haven’t even started thinking about Thanksgiving and Christmas is everywhere. All it does is make you anxious about ‘getting behind’ when you haven’t even begun.
We’re moving in 9 days Jackie - it will take a month to unpack (at least - has taken us over 6 months to pack!) - so Christmas will be thought about sometime around December 27 - except for a gift for grandbabe - can’t forget that one :)

I hope the leadership in Missouri didn’t hope that they had dealt with a temporary issue and moved on. clearly, the students are having none of this “sweep-racism-under-the-rug” business;
I hope that the different presidential candidates understand that token solutions are not going to satisfy ordinary people - we will need to fundamentally change a lot of things
It almost seem like the Dems want to loose 2016. Could be some far flung plan to let the cray-cray GOP clowns destroy PBO’s legacy, let the country flounder for four years, then have a “white knight” Dem elected in 2020 to save the country… But, nah, they wouldn’t do that…

yup, it is. The upper house, which was never in his control, now has become more powerful against him. He tried to ram through euphemistically named land reform bill, which when stripped off the fancy language, was a pure land grab. And it has been downhill for him since then.
