Absolutely, Donna! Now if the MSM would just make it as clear as he did that the Republicans are behaving in a treasonous way when they try to overthrow the results of the last election.

I think we very well could have a shut down. I think the President based on his remarks is preparing for it.

    • September 27, 2013 at 5:19 pm

Yes, unfortunately the T’Baggers are going to shut the government down next week. Just wonder how long it will last. I feel sorry for Americans who will suffer because of these evil politicians. They just don’t care about us.

Just like the President’s good manners prompted him to write a letter to Hassan Rouhani, congratulating him on Rouhani’s election win, I’m sure the President was behind returning this ancient Persian artifact back to Iran.

Not sure who caught the gentlemen who appeared on C-Span at the end of what I think might have been a House Tea Party foolish press offering a while ago. The citizen with the placard called the Rs “demons” (quoting Maxine Waters!) and said his group will be holding an exorcism at Capitol Hill to drive out the demons who are “worse than the Navy Yard shooter.” He got the teabaggers to break up their lying briefing.

I LOVE this story……If Rusho is talking about it, that means his so called 20M listenings will hear it. So now praying to stop governing from crisis to crisis has a Liberal Bent?

The Prayer by Chaplain Barry Black:

“Keep us from shackling ourselves with the chains of dysfunction. Use our senators today to serve your purposes for this generation, making them ever mindful of their accountability to you. Lord, deliver us from governing by crisis, empowering us to be responsible stewards of your bounty”.

  18. September 27, 2013 at 4:42 pm

Hilariously, @Lawrence debuted a new segment last night… “Pinheads or White House correspondent?” (A riff from Bill O’Reilly’s “Pinhead or Patriots.”)

MSNBC’s viewership would skyrocket if each of their hosts had similar segments.

Ed Henry’s ACA ignorance was skewered last night. 7 minutes of pure joy:

Ted Cruz just said that the Senate refused to listen to the American people. I swear – he just said it on C-SPAN! I laughed out loud at my desk. He said he hopes all of the repugs stand together against the Senate to stop the train wreck that is Obamacare.

He says this with a STRAIGHT face.

He is the smartest ‘Pub in the building. He will add to his coffers, keep himself in the spotlight, and laugh at his distinguished colleagues all the way to the bank. Then when he retires from government, he runs a think tank and manages his pac money, while he continues to lead what’s left of his party down the rabbit hole.

They were warned to speak out against this infiltration and refused to do so. Now they’re reaping the results of the foolishness they helped sow.

      • September 27, 2013 at 5:47 pm

Well, cookemom, here’s hoping that his “retirement” from government happens in 2016. There are going to be a lot of Republican knives out to be sure this “senator” has a short career.

So Mitt ‘47%’ Romney, takes Rafalca out of the stall, rides him up to the ‘Pub hitching post and tells them that shutting down the government is not a good idea. Yeah, like they’d listen to him. They blame him for PBO’s second term.

Poor Rafalca, destined to never serve a political purpose again, back to eating oats and apples from the barn.

What is it about Obamacare that compels seemingly intelligent people to explode in bubbling spasms of stupid? Are they misinformed? Unable to see past the rage-fueled partisan sweat dripping into their eyes? Or just plain dishonest?

No matter. At this point, it has become obvious that history will look back on the four-year war on Obamacare as one of the saddest, most bizarre, and most dishonestly embarrassing episodes of our time. I have given up trying to understand the vehement opposition of so many who cannot offer up truthful reasons for their objections, and instead fuel the hatred and fears of the uninformed with the most illogical, mendacious, and fundamentally bizarre arguments that have ever been marshaled. By comparison, Joe McCarthy’s McCarthyistic McCarthyism was an exercise in reason.

They know it will work and don’t want the “Kenyan Socialist Muslim” to get the credit for bringing affordable healthcare to millions of people. Ironic because much of the law is from Heritage Foundation, which is a conservative lobby.

    Oh holy shit:

“Oklahoma Rep. Tom Cole suggested the House focus on adding one provision to the spending bill that has had some bipartisan support in the Senate – a repeal of the tax on medical device manufacturers that helps fund part of Obamacare.”

Let’s repeal the tax on the scooter barkers – that helps the deficit exactly how?

I have a better idea, Rep. Cole: Let’s repeal the Bush tax cuts for anyone making more than $200,000 and let’s have Single Payer and free college tuition for All.

    • September 27, 2013 at 5:20 pm

that does have some support among Dems in the Senate. But they’ve said that they won’t support it as a condition for either funding the govt or raising the debt ceiling. They really are idiots.

      • 94 jziglar
        September 27, 2013 at 6:01 pm

Many democrats have said they could support replacing the medical device tax with another funding mechanism. But the democrats are not going to negotiate on this especially if there is no replacement for the medical device tax.

President Obama spoke by phone with Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani Friday, both leaders said, following Iranian media reports of the call.

The 15 minute phone call was initiated by Obama at 2:30pm Friday as Rouhani was in a car being driven to the airport on the last day of a four day trip to New York. The Iranians reached out today expressing interest in the call, the White House said. It came a day after Secretary of State John Kerry and Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif met one on one for thirty minutes to jump start nuclear negotiations.

Obama, in the call, congratulated Rouhani on his election, and urged the two leaders to seize the opportunity for a nuclear deal, a senior White House official said Friday. A “breakthrough on the nuclear issue could open the door to a [more constructive] relationship between the US and Iran,” Obama said, the White House official summarized.

John Connelly was not watching when Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, said his name during Cruz’s 21-hour marathon speech on the Senate floor earlier this week to rally fellow Republicans against the Affordable Care Act.

Connelly, a 22-year-old college student at Rutgers University, only heard about it the next day when a friend messaged him on Facebook to tell him the news — and he was not exactly thrilled. In fact, Connelly is supportive of the law and has already reaped some of the benefits of the ACA, often referred to by its detractors as “Obamacare.”

Khodahafez is a Persian-language expression that’s used to say goodbye. It’s sometimes written as two words: “khoda hafez” and literally translates as “God be with you.”

You can practically hear cable news talking heads trying to decide whether they should be outraged by this choice of words, but it’s really just a friendly colloquialism.

….In fact, it’s a point of contention in the Islamic world. The Persians tend to say “Khoda Hafez” and [for] lots of people, it’s the standard slang. But the hard line Sunnis now say “Allah Hafez,” because they don’t like the Persian word “Khoda,” which is “God.” But that’s inside baseball.

  41. September 27, 2013 at 6:01 pm

I read this and while part of me loves the symbolism and decency in this, the nerdy part of me just likes this for the sake of this guy being nerdy enough to sso often use foreign language expressions. I sometimes wonder how often someone at the WH gets assignments like “Could you pleace check what ________ means in _________?” 😀

  42. September 27, 2013 at 6:03 pm

More on “khodahafez,” from a Sunni Muslim vs. Persian perspective:

And WTH is this? Now MSM is claiming that President Obama was “scooped” by Rouhani????

As if the President is at their beck-and-call, and needs to be put in his place (because he’s being uppity????). The MSM is now curling into its fetal position, relying on what they know, which is White Privilege. Just beyond vile.

I can’t see bit.ly at my current location. If someone could provide the long URL, it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

This is getting very little press, but i think the reason the GOP is so scared of ObamaCare is because people can register to vote when they sign up. VERY BFD! MILLIONS of people will be signing up for ObamaCare. MILLIONS!!!!!

  45. September 27, 2013 at 6:09 pm

    Sup guys.

So I was on FB yesterday right before going into the bowling alley for my league and I just happened to read this post from my friend He has linked to a comment from some dude about his insurance company cancelling his policy and about his premiums going up. So I just half-read the comment, but once it called POTUS “our fearless leader” and then read the comments in response to it, which were all the same anti-Obama “fearless leader” crap, I told my friend that he needs to start paying attention to the comments on post like that one he posted as a heads up to the fact that maybe the post is not legit and is just another way opponents of the system to muddy the waters on the ACA so that people will be more likely to not trust the system and therefore be more likely to not be able to see the benefits.

More of his friends posted more comments, basically selfish ass, “I got mine” type of bull, so I gave up on them and decided to post the following to my FB page along with the pic.

I know I post alot of needless, useless pop culture information on my FB…lol. But occasionally I do post things that are meant to be informative and gives important information. For the past week, at least, I have been posting link to some non-partisan sties and a few partisan sites about the upcoming implementation of the new Affordable Care Adt or “Obamacare”. Why? So that people I know can make informed decisions about the new law and not rely on “he said/she said”, “well I heard”, or whatever the latest conspiracy theorist or chain letter email you receive from your “crazy relative” or what “this dude” you know says. Ignorance is spread when people who know better just let incorrect information stand without being challenged. I’m keep on posting my links. At the very least, I don’t need it to be said that I didn’t try to make sure that my peeps didn’t have as much of the cold hard facts as anyone else!!!
