My mission tomorrow will be to tweet every Democratic Senator including Mary Landrieu to urge a NO vote on Keystone in the far great interest of supporting the President in his climate change mitigation.

Well, I’m being consistent today - rolling in minutes after a new thread starts!

Hello, Ms NerdyW! Here’s hoping you are having a good Sunday, recovering from your jaunt to the Asia-Pacific! ;) Gracias for sharing your discoveries with us.

// After being honored at the White House for his lifetime achievements in the performing arts and outstanding contributions to American culture, Merle Haggard is forming an opinion about President Barack Obama based on character, not political agenda. The 73-year-old country legend, who has actually visited the White House as a guest of Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan in years past, made an appearance in Washington D.C. for the 33rd Annual Kennedy Center Honors. While there, he mingled with the President, the President’s wife and several other notable honorees.

“It was also nice to meet Obama and find him very different from the media makeout. It’s really almost criminal what they [the media] do with our President,” Haggard tells Rolling Stone. //

I think I will tweet this to MSM who post any snarky crap about PBO

df if abortion ever became totally illegal in USA and girls started committing suicide because of it….I think a lot of fathers might start gunning down the boys or men that got them pregnant. Then the when enough white or GOP sons are gunned down, abortion will become legal again.

    Smartypants says:

I am reminded once again of something Derrick Jensen wrote in his book The Culture of Make Believe.

From the perspective of those who are entitled, the problems begin when those they despise do not go along with—and have the power and wherewithal to not go along with—the perceived entitlement…
Several times I have commented that hatred felt long and deeply enough no longer feels like hatred, but more like tradition, economics, religion, what have you. It is when those traditions are challenged, when the entitlement is threatened, when the masks of religion, economics, and so on are pulled away that hate transforms from its more seemingly sophisticated, “normal,” chronic state—where those exploited are looked down upon, or despised—to a more acute and obvious manifestation. Hate becomes more perceptible when it is no longer normalized.

Another way to say all of this is that if the rhetoric of superiority works to maintain the entitlement, hatred and direct physical force remains underground. But when that rhetoric begins to fail, force and hatred waits in the wings, ready to explode.

Not only in Ferguson, but the theory also applies to Corporate Welfare entitlement with support from the GOP, many Dems and the corporate owned media that is being exposed by this administration and President. I am thinking that plays the biggest part in the smears, lies and opposition by feeding racism, and fear of changes through the corporate owned propaganda machine to the public.

This is a brilliant analysis by SmartyPants that I wish every Democrat were forced to read. So many people have their heads in the sand and don’t have the slightest idea what’s at stake in our democracy. They refuse wake up and so run the risk of remaining asleep until its too late to fight back.

    Greetings TOD Family

Yesterday our OFA team held a tabling event at a Hispanic market in Santa Rosa. We have lots of folks come up and ask for flyers. Thank goodness for our Spanish speaking volunteer Ruth. It was great to see that folks are still interested in getting information. OFA is doing lots of good work to get the word out about the ACA. Find an event in your area and sign up.

    https://my.barackobama.com/page/event/search_simple?source=events-redirect

If there is nothing in your area, let us know - ask the OFA folks here how you can start your own group. It just takes 2 people to do a tabling event.

Hello there, Linda! You are still hard at work, I see. Thank you.
You must have heard me mentioning your name here earlier today! [While growing up my grandmother used to say 'If your ear is ringing, someone is talking about you.' Not very scientific, but no one in my family is a 'scientist'. ]

I’m only now noticing that you responded to me. It IS always a treat, and a great encouragement, to hear what you and your group have been up to. I mentioned you because after NoSpin shared some of the letter she wrote, we were discussing people writing letters/emails to Wasserman-Schultz, DSCC, @TheDemocrats, etc to share specific criticisms of their approach. Remembered how you encouraged in the past to share our letters here to help get the ball going, or to give ideas.

    from the article…

Come January, the GOP majorities will be much bigger - 30-20 in the Senate and 119-84 in the House - after a banner legislative election for Republicans. And conservatives say their ranks will be bigger, big enough to pass the key bills over the opposition of Democrats and Republican holdouts.
There are still raw feelings among numerous conservatives over Republicans’ failure under Corbett to advance major legislation to scale back public pension benefits, privatize the sale of liquor and wine or limit the ability of labor unions to collect member dues or political action committee contributions….

        November 16, 2025 at 5:03 pm

In this case, Gerrymandering is the culprit. The districts are heavily favorable to the GOPers in both Fed and Local distributions.

This is enraging, Pf. Voters in PA crippled Wolf with a legislature that will block everything he tries to do and then they will blame him for inaction four years from now.

      • 46 prettyfoot58
        November 16, 2025 at 5:19 pm

Wolf emulated a lot of what PBO did during his run for office…I hope that he continues to do that…

interesting is that the article talks about the moderate GOP who did not go along with the radical agenda of Corbett…I wonder how this will play out….

The radical GOP will try their hand at voter id again…stripping unions of collective bargaining and collecting dues…and the Philadelphia schools are still in peril….I wonder what plans the PA State Dem Committee has in the works…and whether they will include mobilizing “We The People”

When will the St. Louis Grand Jury finding be announced?
When will PBO’s EO on Immigration be revealed?
What will happen on or before Nov. 24th with US/Iran nuclear deal?
