I hope those who have been trashing the president over the still evolving Pacific Rim Trade Agreement heard the reference to this in the SOTU. He said that if we don’t set the trade agenda in the Pacific, then China will and American products will be shut out. He acknowledged that past trade agreements, i.e., NAFTA, don’t always represent a good model, but his team is working to get it right. People on the so-called left who cork off without getting full information always choose hysteria over reason. They have no better ideas; they just like to throw brickbats.
Right. The left needs to stop acting like every trade deal is bad. You can negotiate solid trade deals and so far this administration did just that with South Korea, Panama, and Columbia.
