    Good Morning TOD Family!

Cracking up really hard at the President’s comments about the GOP and how they’re living in an alternative universe!

Bright, sunny and cool day here in S.F. Hubby is speaking to a college class today on the subject of white privilege. Should be interesting. I won’t be in attendance as I have to be at my volunteer job today. I hope someone gets it on video.

Wishing everyone a great day! For those who have elections today, sending positive energy towards the best results! Be checking in later.

<3 Sent in my ballot so many weeks ago, almost forgot its voting day! Mornin' y'all. I missed the party too, huge congratulations on 33Million. There must be quite a few lurking types around, all those hits can't possibly be from the regulars! I suspect a fair few keep a finger on the pulse of reality by checking out where the views on TOD stand each day! <3

We can maintain the priorities and meaning we’ve given to the historical record by refusing to allow the individual stories of others to challenge our story of America. That is how we maintain the divide. The alternative is to recognize that our own story of America is something that can evolve as we listen to how it intersects with the individual stories of others.

    *************************************

Generally speaking POC live in two worlds…their world and the world of quote dominant culture….in order to survive it is something that we lean to navigate at an early age….

not true for those folks of the “dominant” culture…hence they have trouble seeing what we see…and in addition…”they” do not want to see what “we” see…because it causes as you call it “a moment of cognitive dissonance”….

then there are those political forces who have a stake in not letting members of the dominant culture have “a moment of cognitive dissonance”…

which why folks of color continue to struggle…and why we keep having to fight the same battles over and over again…although victories are won…but if we do not defend them….they will be chipped away…aka VRA

We had our best chance with President Barack Obama…to transform America…i mean to really transform….that window is closing….

reminds me of the scene from Star Trek in with the Positive and Negative were locked in forever conflict without resolution….

LOL - NY Mag is just figuring out what I’ve been saying for weeks now. Carson is not running for President. He’s raising money for his pockets and also place-holder for Jeb or whoever the establishment selects in the final weeks of the GOP primary.

B.C. spends almost 70% of the money he takes in to do MORE fundraising. Has he put himself on the ballot on any states? That would be the clue for me. The guy who is running his campaign is the bald AA RWNJ turned radio host Armstrong Williams. $arah Palin taught them how to grift and the same nuts are sending him money and buying his books. Someone in the comments said that B.C. bought a mansion in Florida probably next door to Rush Limpballs.

I don’t think he cares how the “base” treats PBO. If he did, he wouldn’t even present himself the way he does. Carson is the ultimate narcissist.

Oh to be stoooopid at the age of 27, living in a home your parents purchased - with your girlfriend no less and you are dreaming of having easy money so you can do maintenance work on the house and get a garage. This is truly a person - an entitled person who does drugs.

Now where is he on his way too? And you sloppily killed the ONLY two people who would have stood by you in this crisis. Dumb-ass!

OT, but this was on my way in to work this morning, very disturbed. Body in the middle of the street, blocks cordoned off by police. It wasn’t a window washer who fell, but some other guy. Although I think the body was too far in the middle of the street for a suicide.

That’s as bad as last Friday during morning commute a young man speeding, driving recklessly and without a seat belt crashed his car, it flipped several times, ejecting him and he landed on top of a freeway sign. Think of all those drivers going to work seeing that sight before the fire department could climb up, cover and remove his body.

I saw that report on the news jojo. Oh the horror. And his family said he was a “good kid”, “probably rushing to get to work because he was late.” He was reported to be speeding, weaving in & out of traffic and even driving on the shoulder.

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/prince-harry-kirstie-ennis-walk-britain_5637a9c5e4b063179913263d

“No I can’t, I can’t accept this,” Harry said, as reported by People.com, to which Ennis replied, “Please, you know what this means to me, I want you to.”

Ennis, 24, was injured in a helicopter crash in Afghanistan in 2012. Since then, she has undergone 38 surgeries, the Mirror reported, and is due to have her left leg amputated. The former Marine completed the walk with four former British soldiers and another U.S. Marine to raise money and awareness for Walking With the Wounded, which helps injured military members regain independence. Prince Harry officially announced the event, called the Walk of Britain, in March, and joined Ennis and her teammates at two points along their 72-day journey, BBC reported.

The dog tag Ennis handed the 31-year-old royal was to honor of Cpl. Baune, from Minnesota, who died in combat just 10 days before Ennis was injured, according to People.com.

“I look at situations like that, he never came home, he had a wife and a family but he never came home,” she told the news outlet. “The six of us here today did come home, we are actually the lucky ones. The least we can do is share their legacy and honor their memory.”

Good read on a topic that we’ll be hearing the rethugs rant about. Bottom line:

‘ Mark Lipsey speculated that the reason so many of the pre-K kids lost enthusiasm for school was that they ended up doing and learning the same things for three years in a row. His colleague Dale Farran toured the state’s classrooms, and in too many cases, she told me, 4-year-olds were expected to sit still and listen as a group, to follow instructions from a single teacher. They were not — as was the case in the Perry Preschool and the Abecedarian school — wandering around building towers and knocking them down, exploring their world and asking questions of teachers who had the time and the bandwidth to answer them and lead them deeper into inquiry. ‘
