WHY? WHEN CHRIST WAS NOT BORN ON DECEMBER 25TH?…IT WAS SEPTEMBER. WHY IS THIS NOT CORRECTED THE WAY IT SHOULD BE?

Why do idiots like Snowden insist on likening themselves to Black activists or Black matyrs/civil rights leaders? Don’t they realize that these constant attempts to associate themselves with Black freedom-fighters actually reveals more of their underlying racist motivations for doing what they do?

Finally! I get to post. Been trying to log in but WP got me going around and around so feck it. Here goes:

Had my routine check up about 10 days ago. Mixed results as usual. Some areas better, some worse. This time they found a spot
on my skull. The medication I was using did not help a spot on my liver. In fact, it’s gotten much bigger. So, doc is putting me on new medication. Not happy about it, but once again, gotta do what I gotta do. At least it’s not chemo. Yet.

Hope you all had great Thanksgiving.

/mumble-grumble/ Why’d they have to grow up so fast? Christmas is really for the ‘little’ ones in my mind. Plus like someone else mentioned above I was looking forward to see their meet-the-tree fashion this year. :( :( :D :D

Here I sit, well fed yesterday, commenting here to take a break from my Christmas gift list, watching PBS Nova’s “Inside Einstein’s Mind,” and here arrives the Christmas tree at the White House.

Ha. So many choices. Life is good.

GM, JO’B. Here *I* stand (on the treadmill) pretending to do some walking though my fingers are moving more than my feet. :D :D

It *is* kinda funny here, JO’B. Most of the time I’m stopped while I’m typing with the exercise music playing in the background …. then suddenly the music penetrates and I take a few cursory steps for a minute, maybe two, until the typing takes over again. Of course, the big upside is that when I do stop pretending altogether my mind will feel like I’ve done my exercises for this past week. Brilliant, eh? :D :D :D

Enjoy your Black Friday! I bet you, Steve, and the gang had a marvelous Thanksgiving. Yes, life’s good. :) :)

It was great, thanks. My son (the real family chef) also participated in some of the preps (my favorite - his homemade whipped cream topping), so that was particularly cool … other than the times he was peering over other people’s shoulders, to make sure they were doing their part of the preps right - Ha! Good thing I’m just the type who brings the bakery-bought pies and sits there looking cute. :)

[pssst - That one was mastered at work. ;) Other colleagues would get bent out of shape at an upcoming evaluation; me, I’d just remind them that no matter how good you are the person evaluating (often someone who couldn’t do *your* specific job) ALWAYS *had* to find an area for improvement. Heck, the paperwork required it!] ;) :D :D

Back in the mid-70’s (Ha), I once tried to talk my boss out of giving me an outstanding annual performance rating. I said “But I didn’t really have as much work to do this year, so I pretty much just had fun” and he said “Did you do everything we asked you to do, in an outstanding way?” and I said “Well, yes” and he said “Then shut up. And you’ll be getting a cash performance award, too.”

So I shut up and kept the cash.

                      So I shut up… >smart. :D :D
 Our union eventually bargained away the ‘outstanding’ category, so that was/is no longer a factor.

GOP rider would boost party spending
Mitch McConnell plans to slip campaign cash rider in omnibus spending bill.
    11/25/15 05:59 PM EST

Senate Republicans plan to insert a provision into a must-pass government funding bill that would vastly expand the amount of cash that political parties could spend on candidates, multiple sources tell POLITICO.

The provision, which sources say is one of a few campaign-finance related riders being discussed in closed-door negotiations over a $1.15 trillion omnibus spending package, would eliminate caps on the amount of cash that parties may spend in coordination with their candidates.

Why did authorities say Laquan McDonald lunged at Chicago police officers?
    November 26

After a Chicago police officer shot and killed 17-year-old Laquan McDonald last year, the initial information reported in local media outlets was fairly limited: A teenager armed with a knife he would not drop was shot and killed while approaching or lunging toward officers, police said. That was the story reported by the Chicago Tribune as well as the local NBC, ABC and CBS affiliates.

These outlets cited Pat Camden, who was acting as a spokesman for the Chicago Fraternal Order of Police and offered a description of what officers encountered. Camden told reporters that McDonald had lunged at police with a knife before the gunfire and said the teenager posed “a very serious threat to the officers.? The police department also released a statement the day after the shooting saying that McDonald “refused to comply with orders to drop the knife and continued to approach the officers.?

However, graphic video footage of the shooting released on Tuesday evening — several hours after prosecutors said that Officer Jason Van Dyke had been charged with first-degree murder — showed that the teenager was veering away from the officers, and that Van Dyke opened fire within seconds of arriving. An attorney for Van Dyke has said the officer feared for his life and for the lives of the other officers.

We all know there needs to be a prosecution of everyone involved in the cover-up, not to mention the murder. The murder was beyond horrific; the cover-up was egregious. And not just in this case, of course. If not now, when?

      November 27, 2025 at 11:56 am

You would think by now, that spokespeople for police would be a little more cautious with their lies until it is confirmed that no video exists of the shooting

Yes, I was thinking the same thing. The media is obsessed with Malia’s college app process. AP put out a story last night titled: “Malia Obama is applying for college and here’s what’s known about her search.”

I know people are generally interested in the first daughters, and that in part drives the stories, but still! :)

Right. Let’s wait and see what school Malia decides to attend and it will be based on her grades and volunteer work - just like all other applicants.

Good afternoon, TOD. Back from my trip to the grocery store. Picked up my year’s supply of paper towels; and a few of their BF grocery specials — only the things I normally use, purchased at their “loss leader” prices. Was disappointed that they didn’t have tenderloins on sale this year, I wanted several for my party… Time to rethink the menu… Ran into a couple of cousins at the store; pleasant surprise as right before going shopping I commented on her FB post that I hoped to see her soon — meaning at here family’s Saturday before Christmas brunch.

Had a wonderful time yesterday at another cousin’s dinner. All of he children, grands, and g-grands were there except one (was his in-laws turn…). Great discussions on family history/genealogy; politics; and economics. I had hoped to go to NY today; friends of my former D-i-L#1 invited my Mom and I to join them for the family Thanksgiving Friday dinner. Would have been a chance to spend time with the grandson. Mine is willing — body said “HELL NO.” As I have tickets for the Soulful Symphony concert in Baltimore tomorrow night, I’m listening to my body…

    Off to do some chores…
