      GE LP.

Thanks for stepping in and acting as BT recently.

Much appreciated, as things are happening at a whirlwind pace right now!

Thanks for the CNN link. GOP won’t know what hit them once the grassroots developed and nurtured by President Obama’s team pummel vulnerable GOP Senators and Congresscritters by staging:
“events in targeted states with real working Americans pushing Senate Republicans to do their jobs.”

As John Boehner demonstrated, GOP obstruction is not very agile on its feet — they don’t think things through beyond the first kneejerk “No.”

Can’t wait for these GOP cowards to face their constituents on their refusal to do the job they were elected to do. Teehee.

…on the topic of possible SCOTUS replacements, this may be of interest http://theobamadiary.com/2016/03/13/early-bird-chat-691/#comment-1504118

I find it really odd that a group is going after former Iowa/Grassley supported Judge Kelly.

I didn’t read the Slate article referenced on yesterday’s Early Bird, but since the ads ran yesterday sounds like the RW Judicial Watch is issuing a threat to the WH to not nominate Jane Kelly — wouldn’t want an 82-year-old man (Grassley) have to defend a Senate seat he’s had forever.

Iowa voted for Barack Obama twice, and whether or not Jane Kelly is nominated, Grassley should be getting ready to enjoy quality time with his grandchildren (great-grandchildren?). Looking forward to having a Dem represent Iowa in the Senate.

I think the re-captured Senate seat that TODville will savor most this November is Patrick Murphy claiming Rubio’s seat. Marco demonstrated such hubris thinking he should be President, and our shameless MSM should be raked over the coals for propping up and promoting his pipe dream.

PBO has already endorsed Patrick Murphy, so we can expect to see @POTUS, @FLOTUS and @VP (and perhaps even @DrBiden — wouldn’t it be great to see all four of them on the stage at one time — creating Obot nostalgia for when PBO announced Joe Biden as his running mate in 2008 — Obama/Biden, yay) at some rip-roaring Florida rallies later this year. :)

          • March 15, 2025 at 12:19 am

I’m still trying to figure out how Bruce Braley lost to Joni Earnst…for that matter Udall should have beat Gardner in CO & Hagen should have kept her NC seat against Tillis. …but I hope Grassley loses (and they found a great candidate, Judge) to run against him.

…speaking of endorsements, the same PBO & VP endorsed Murphy in FL, they also endorsed former governer Strickland in OH, to hopefully take out Portman (that may be the toughest incumbent to beat in my opinion…with Ayotte in NH & Gov. Hassan a close second) I think IN open seat & NV (Reid’s) open seat will wash each other out. Feingold is going to wipe the floor with Sen. Johnson in WI, Duckwork with Kirk too….only other surprise of “at risk” seats may be Sen. Blunt of MO.

People need to understand this. For real. And do the hard work of making sure that we truly address the root.

    http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/political-animal-a/2016_03/the_challenge_of_trumpmania_wo059937.php

Assuming his rebuke in November, the natural tendency will be to mop the brow and sigh in relief at the bullet we just dodged.
This would be a mistake. Defeating Trump would not erase the forces that made him possible. As the last few years have shown, those forces, like some virulent cancer, tend to redouble after a setback and return stronger than before.
You thought George W. Bush was a piece of work? Meet Sarah Palin. You think Sarah Palin was scary? Meet Trump.
With that, Pitts provides a list of the five things we must do to end that trajectory.

    1. Confront economic insecurity.
    2. Confront ignorance.
    3. Confront bigotry.
    4. Confront fear.
    5. Confront apathy.

President Obama on Monday spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin about Russia’s surprise announcement of a “partial withdrawal” of forces from Syria.

“They discussed President Putin’s announcement today … and next steps required to fully implement the cessation of hostilities,” the White House said in a statement.
