âItâs fraud. ⌠straight-up fraud,â the stateâs Democratic Attorney General Eric Schneiderman reiterated during an MSNBC interview last week after a judge unsealed court documents from one of the Trump U. lawsuits and allowed for a more detailed look into the allegations of deceit.
The strange part? Some key conservative voices agree with the Democratâs legal assessment. Thatâs why back in February, a National Review writer denounced the Trump seminars as âa massive scam.â And last month, The Weekly Standard warned that Trump U. represented a âpolitical time bombâ that could doom the candidateâs November chances: âDemocrats will see to that.â (Both magazines have opposed Trump for months and have pointed to Trump U. as a reason for their opposition.)
Thatâs whatâs so startling about watching the conservative media this campaign season: Itâs been completely knocked off its game. Known for its regimented messaging and willingness to almost robotically defend any Republican front-runner and nominee, Trump is finding only a smattering of defenders when it comes to damning allegations about his scam seminars.

Yeah, jazziz2, I didnât know about that either, Iâve never been to a tanning salon in my life. I also figured it was too much cover-up make up. A friend of mine clued me in. People who ski or snowboard get those white raccoon eyes, too, but DT doesnât look like he exercises, and heâs orange, so pretty sure itâs from fake-tanning.

Honestly, I cannot think of one thing McCain has said or done that would create a glimmer of respect in the mind of any sensible person! (And donât tell me that when he was campaigning he stopped a supporter from disparaging Sen. Obama. IMO, he only did *that* after prompting from the media.)
Iâm embarrassed to say that I supported him in the 2000 primary. That was the only year that I did not do my normal vetting matrix. Needless to say, in 2008, I was surprised AND disappointed to find his record on veterans issues was abysmal!
Well, you got his number the 2nd time around. ‘ Better late than never.â In 2008 I was appalled to stumble upon a video clip of a hearing where he was yelling and screaming at family members of veterans. Honestly, just the sight of him ranting is enough to turn my stomach. I havenât ever seen his ‘mavorickyâ side in all the years since heâs come to my attention. I wish heâd go away. I so hope his opponent wins this year!

We just got back from voting in the Iowa Democratic primary. I voted for Patty Judge for Senate, even though Iâve been reading some less than satisfactory things about her recently. The DSM Register endorsed the other guy, but I know sheâd have a better chance against that idiot Grassley. I hope the pace picks up - we were only #51 and #52 and itâs almost 5PM. Onward to November!

Just came back from voting :-)!
The polling place wasnât crazy busy, but I had to wait in a line of about six people to vote. As I was walking in, I couldnât help looking around and profiling my fellow voters a bit, trying to guess who was BS and who was HRC. I know I shouldnât judge books by their cover, as Iâve been proven wrong in my assumptions before. I once had a surprising conversation with a middle-aged white guy who looked like an undercover cop who turned out to be as much of an Obot as any TODer. A black woman that I know will probably end up voting Trump, so you never know.
Anyway, as I was punching my card in the voting booth, I heard a booming voice behind me tell the poll worker, âIâm a No Party Preference but I want to vote with a Democratic ballot.â I turned around and he was straight out of central casting: a big, loud, thirty-something white guy with a neck-beard and cargo shorts. Pretty sure he was going to vote for BS, but I suppose itâs always possible that he ran out of the polling place after voting, raising his hands in the air and yelling, âHill, yes!â
