This is weird, but it feels like it was so long ago that we had this intelligent, decent, competent and trustworthy president.

It’s like a breath of fresh air and a moment to pretend they are still in office! Thanks Nerdy

Malia and Natasha have such a rich heritage by birth and connection: Irish, African (Kenya), American (Black and white), Indonesian, Maylasian Chinese Canadian. They have been to Cuba, 4 countries in South America, Italy (Rome and Milan), Spain, France, Russia, the UK, Germany, various African nations, China, and now Bali and Indonesia (I may have missed some). While I would have voted for Barack anyway, I was also very pleased at the idea of Black (I know they are mixed but in the US, Black trumps everything) girls being raised in the White House and having the types of experiences that they have had.

      GE CEB.

So glad that PBO has some time to soak in Indonesia, and could bring everyone in the family along.

IIRC, when PBO was in Indonesia while President, there were all sorts of things going on — volcano eruption and typhoon (?) which curtailed his visit there. 😦

Wikipedia tells me that Bali is majority-Hindu, and has some photos of the intriguing culture and breathtaking landscape.

Hope the girls know how fortunate they are, to have so many places on Earth as part of their heritage.

Hope everyone had a great weekend (it’s hotter than heck in SoCal now — too hot for me to hang out with my patio plants 😦 — just moved them into the shade and waiting for the sun to go down, hoping it’ll cool off.

Here’s more this turn of events:

If we look at the GOP health care bill as NOT a health care bill but as a bill to give the wealthiest of Americans a Tax break….than it all makes perfect sense…it does not matter how many folks are hurt…the wealthiest of Americans will be ok…we have known for quite awhile that the GOP has disdain for Americans…but now white folks will learn that they have disdain for them as well….as their family members die…will that change their perspective…who knows….their racism is a believe system…it is in their DNA….they just might be willing to die if it means that they had to give up their whiteness…

  22. June 26, 2017 at 8:03 am

Good morning, good people. I hope this new Monday is a good one!

Please encourage all in your circle to to keep calling, keep making your voices heard. The GOP must face their malfeasance.

Some of those Republican governors that bankrupted their states will no doubt spend that money to shore up their budgets only to find themselves in the same predicament later on down the line because their fucking economic theories are fucking insane.

And she’s still going to vote for the bill despite it making absolutely no sense to eliminate federal funding for Planned Parenthood. Ladies and gentleman I present to you Susan Collins’ well known game of being totally outraged by something and then voting for whatever it is that she’s outraged about.

Sue, I found out if you put the title of the article in quotations in google search, then when it comes up you click on it, it bypasses the paywall. That’s what I do now. If you don’t put the title in quotes, then you get that wall. I hope this helps.

Maybe i have become too pessimistic about the people who identify as republicans. But this future hearing frightens me because I believe that the 5 conservative on the court will side with the homegrown demagogues & install the travel bandabire. I hope that I am wrong

      • June 26, 2017 at 12:42 pm

You have a right to be pessimistic. Thomas, Alito and Gorsuch have already stated their support for Trump’s ban. What is happening is INSANE.
