    Part One:
“Trump Ghostwriter Suggests ‘Art of the Deal’ be Recategorized as Fiction.”
Tony Schwartz responded to the NYT report that Trump lost $1.2 billion between 1985 and 1994:
-Tony Schwartz said the same things 2 years ago about Trump as Charles Leerhsen, ghostwriter for ‘Surviving at the Top”, said last night
on ‘All In with Chris Hayes’.

  14. 19 bridgeriverpass
    May 10, 2025 at 12:49 pm

    Part Two:
    TERRIFYING.
A TOTAL LIGHT BULB MOMENT FOR ALL.
Please read this interview between Trump’s 2nd guostwriter and Chris Hayes. (And forgive me for transcribing again. Imo so critical to
understand this about the real Trump.)
    CHARLES LEERHSEN:
“This was the sequel to the ‘Art of the Deal’ and I was an outsider…a lot of people say Mark Burnett and the ‘The Apprentice’ created the fictional Trump that so many people voted for. Ironically (the constructed persona Trump) came from a book. Here’s a guy who has written more books than he’s read but his image was actually shaped by the book, the Art of the Deal. So I came to it thinking a golden boy, a young business genius, and boy..it was very hard…it took me 15 or 20 sessions to realize…I couldn’t believe it…he was the Trump that we know: The uninformed, the ignorant Trump that we know. But people were ready on board, propping him up…
Spending his time on fabric swatches: “This is the way he runs the country now. You know he sits in his office there with Nick Mulvaney and there’s a whole and there’s a whole lot of stuff happening all over, but he’s oblivious to it. You know he can’t even spell Kentucky, and he’s not even thinking about the whole rest of the United States, or the Department of Agriculture. He doesn’t know what goes on there and he doesn’t care. It’s the same thing with these businesses that he acquired, the Plaza Hotel and the Trump Shuttle, he would buy them and then there’d be a lot of hoopla. He was interested to that point, and then he had no interest in running them on a day to day basis and no knowledge of how to do it. So he’d focus on the fabric swatches, I think coz for one thing it played into his germophobia. You know he was always replacing the carpets, and the drapes (Chris is starting to crack up) and he was always talking about ‘deep cleaning’ the airline sinks, you know, and that’s what his life became. He would say “what do you think of this piece of valour here, and I’d feel it and you know I’d talk about it, and at the center of all this chaos was this man feeling the fabric.”

      May 10, 2025 at 12:50 pm

HAYES: Did you get any sense that he had any business acumen or any insight at all? If not what is your theory of how this man has managed to get through 40 years conning people?
LEERHSEN: “Well I think that the nuts and bolts of it in that period of his life - the banks were caught up in the whole Trump image thing - and they were believing the Art of the Deal over what they saw on his balance sheets, and what came out of his mouth. And he also for a while was successful in Atlantic City so he had this like cash cow that casinos were turning out money and they were covering his other mistakes. But then just for a few months (when) Atlantic City went south, and it’s like a guy who’s in over his head with his home mortgage and then he loses his job, he can’t pay the bill and he quickly cycles down. But in Trump’s case the difference was that the banks came to his rescue, because their reputations and their very solvency sometimes was dependent on them saving him and propping him up. So instead of foreclosing, they figured out some way to make it work.”

      May 10, 2025 at 12:52 pm

(Trump’s latest 6-month obsession is bringing fireworks back to Mt. Rushmore.)
HAYES: He’s found his fabric swatches, something he’s well equipped to handle.
Leehson: “There’s a little bit of a rainman thing going on there with him. He gets focused on something and fascinated with something and it’s hard to get it away from him.’
HAYES: What do you think about all of this having watched it unfold before?
“I’ve thought about how it was different and how it was the same. It was different in those days the stakes were a lot lower, He was a real estate guy and yes he was hurting people, contractors, and he wasn’t renting to minorities, and he was doing bad things…mostly he was inconsequential he didn’t have his finger on the button…
but now the Trump I see there in the White House and the Oval Office from what I can see is exactly the same guy. He just shows up every day and tries to kill the time in a way that is pleasant for him, until his next TV show comes on, or something like that. So now it’s watching television and hanging around, and then every once in a while he would rant when somebody would come in and tell him the Plaza hotel lost, you know, 250,000 dollars last week, and he’d get excited about that for a few minutes and then - but for him the difference was it didn’t matter - he was able to comparmentalize until that became public, until those failures became public then he felt really bad about it.”

Bridgeriverpass, I’m so glad that you do bring these transcriptions here. I stopped watching MSNBC pretty much in 2010, unless someone brings clips here or TPV. Plus, there are times when the MSNBC clips don’t play on my laptop.

          sjterrid hi,
(Hey I just received some beautiful flowers from my daughter!)
There’s a very hard working crew in the evenings on that channel and I wouldn’t miss it. (Actually i watch it later.) I trust the hosts I watch, they’re telling the truth. And it gets Increasingly more interesting…stunning guests, lively presentations, interviews with the current players. Not trying to be an Advertisement. (Ads are my pet peeve, can you believe some of them - so sexist, often racist, inappropriate for children).
But literally apart from Sir Colbert, some basketball, other sports, Oscars, PBS - that’s it for me with the TV.

From the guy who lost the equivalent of $2 Billion, the highest losses of any American at the time, while pretending to be “at his peak”.
    Thanks to the clueless Fabric.Swatch.Would.Be.Emperor:
“Tariff Increase On $200B In Chinese Imports Takes Effect.” (CBC)
Americans will pay a lot more for all the junk. Meanwhile the grifter Trump family goes on ripping off poor workers around the world. Just heard that Melania has a shoe sweatshop going in in Ethiopia where she pays workers so badly they could never, in their lifetimes, afford a pair of her shoes.
-Meanwhile is there any chance that Americans could make the clothing and technology that is imported? Job creation?
-Could Universities please encourage local workers to sew their sports apparel?

Trump now being exposed as a lifelong TOTAL liar and fraud:
Here’s the link to the revelations by guostwriter Charles Leershen last night:

So intuitively we knew it all right?
But here’s the devastating truth about His Ignorance: The big layabout, hanging out, watching tv, debating fabrics and drapes, losing his inherited $billions, while Rome burns. Only now he has the keys to the planet.
-Don’t let him start a distraction war.

As I begin the final weekend of my #IAmBecoming tour, I joined my friends @honeychildtracy and @michele__norris in Florida to talk about why it's so important to make sure girls know the power in their own stories. Whether as a parent, mentor, teacher, or neighbor, each of us can show them that their voices are valued and respected from a young age—and that can have an extraordinary effect on who they’ll become in the years ahead. When we view their voices as equal, when we truly listen to them and appreciate what they say, they will feel more empowered to share themselves with the rest of the world, too. Organizations like @HoneyShineInc and @OYCMiami are living out this message by giving girls in Florida the tools and platform they need to reach their boundless potential. To the ladies I met with today, never underestimate the power in your own story — I hope you’ll share yours bravely, and help others share theirs, too. It’s how we all keep becoming, together.
