Carolina Live: What took sculptors days to construct, took democrats minutes to demolish. With a backhoe and plenty of shovels, a group of about 20 from the Democrat Women’s Council of Horry County scraped, pushed and dug their way into the sand castle dubbed Mount Myrtle.
The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce had the sculpture made for the GOP Presidential Debate …. featuring the faces of the four remaining candidates and the two who suspended their campaigns. To be a part of the demolition, the democratic group gave a $200 donation to Mother’s Against Violence.
When Howard took full control of the backhoe, she went straight to her least favorite Republican candidate. “I don’t like Newt. He’s just an angry man.”
…. Democrat Flora Pickett took the pink shovel and went straight for the jugular of Gingrich. “I had a lot of hostility that I’m trying to get off in reference to Newt Gingrich,” said Pickett …. “That was a lot of fun. If they come and rebuild it again, I’ll be back,” Pickett added.
The group contracted with the Myrtle Beach area Chamber of Commerce to demolish the sculpture to raise money for the charitable organization Mothers Against Violence

It cracked me up today to see how Byron Tau and his buddies at GOPolitico pulled any negative extracts they could find from this article. Funny how they left out this bit:

Tuesday: The President will deliver his State of the Union Address at 9:00 PM EST.
Following the President’s State of the Union address, he will begin a five-state, three-day swing across the country.
Wednesday: PBO will begin his trip with an event in the Cedar Rapids area, followed by an event in the Phoenix area. He will then travel to Las Vegas where he will spend the night.
Thursday: PBO will hold events in the Las Vegas area and the Denver area before traveling to Detroit that evening where he will spend the night.
Friday: PBO will hold an event in the Detroit area before returning to Washington.
