Latino Fox News (!!!): …. Latino voters favor President Barack Obama by six-to-one over any of the Republican presidential hopefuls, showed a Fox News Latino poll released Monday.
…… 73% of Latino voters approved of Obama’s performance in office, with over half those questioned looking favorably upon his handling of the healthcare debate and the economy, at 66% and 58% respectively.
…. the poll shows Mitt Romney with 35% of Latino voter support, to Ron Paul’s 13%, Newt Gingrich’s 12%, and fRick Santorum’s 9%.
….. In head-to-head match-ups none of the GOP candidates would garner more than 14% of the Latino vote come November…
“This is what we’re seeing across the country,” said Gabriela Domenzain, Obama campaign spokesperson. “The more Latinos learn about the candidates, the more they reject them.”

Chris Leonard, the President and General Manager of New West Broadcasting, announced today that Limbaugh’s program will no longer be broadcast on KPUA AM 670 in Hilo, HI.

Energy.gov: Energy Secretary Steven Chu today announced that four new corporate partners – Best Buy, Johnson Controls, Pacific Gas and Electric, and Veolia – are joining the Energy Department’s National Clean Fleets Partnership, a broad public-private partnership that assists the nation’s largest fleet operators in reducing the amount of gasoline and diesel they use nationwide. The new partners announced today join with 14 other major national companies in committing to improve the fuel economy of the commercial fleets, integrate alternative technology vehicles like natural gas trucks and electric vehicles into their fleets, and reduce their overall fuel use. Collectively, the National Clean Fleets Partners operate more than a million commercial vehicles nationwide, accounting for more than 12 percent of all commercial vehicles on American roads.

The Hill: President Obama’s health law has eliminated lifetime coverage limits for 105 million Americans, the administration says in a new report released Monday.
The state-by-state report is part of the White House’s push to highlight popular provisions of the law ahead of its second anniversary later this month. Public opinion about the law remains split, but the administration hopes that its strategy will turn voters against Republicans’ plans to scrap the whole thing.
…. According to the report, 59 percent of workers covered by their employers and 89 percent of people with individual market plans had lifetime limits on their coverage in 2009. That translates to 70 million people in large employer plans, 25 million people in small employer plans and 10 million people with individually purchased health insurance.

CNN: Republican party leaders may be surprised by the results of a new poll of institutional investors: A majority of them want Washington to fix the deficit the Obama way, with both spending cuts and tax hikes.
“They tend to be as a population more fiscally conservative than the general public, but they’re not as fiscally conservative as the most conservative elements of the Republican party,” said Brent McGoldrick, who coordinated the poll. “You see the pragmatism of investors coming through here.”
In fact, on this issue at least, the 56% who favor a mixed approach are largely aligned with President Obama.

I sincerely hope the administration and especially the campaign team keeps doling out state by state information to voters about the wonderful benefits of ACA. I hope they focus like a laser on voters and different segment of voters like women, Latinos, African-Americans and show how this law is crucial and beneficial to their lives.

Just got back from the Jazz Museum on 18th and Vine in Kansas City where I introduced the First Lady, Medhelle Obama. There were about 400 people at this fundraising event. It was just awesome! I spent most of the time trying to keep the butterfiles out of my stomach. I was escorted to the VIP section where I met all of these very important people and wondered what in the world had I done to me among this corwd! They had paid a great deal to be there and I was there by invitation.
I got in line to have my picture taken . I came face to face with the First Lady. Let me tell you Michelle is sooooooo beautiful!!!! The camera does NOT do her justice. We are both tall and we both had on the SAME color skirt – green. When I went to hug her, I just could not help it. I just got teary. She has the most beautiful deep eyes and they are TRULY the mirror to her loving soul. NOBODY hugs like Michelle!
I had to wait in the wings until it was time to introduce her. I just knew someone was going to go before me to prepare the way. That did NOT happen! They pointed at me and said go! I said now and they said yes! I don’t know what carried me on ot that stage, but there I was.
I told my story about how my husband had been denied coverage for his emergency heart procedure because we had not called in advance even though he was in our car at the time and transported by paramedics. It took us months to get the insurance to pay. I said that is why we must make sure this President is reelected to keep Health Care reform safe because no one should have to go through this. I also paraise Michelle for her efforts for Let’s Move, and veterans. When I left the stage, Michelle hugged me again and said, your really did it girl! I was floating for the rest of her remarks.
It was a great day!

Musician Peter Gabriel Withdraws Songs From Rush Limbaugh Show Over Sandra Fluke Attack
Limbaugh sparked outrage when he called Fluke, a Georgetown law student who was denied the right to speak at a contraception hearing, “a slut” and “a prostitute.” Gabriel was dismayed to learn that his track “Sledgehammer” played in the background to the attack. His fans have been calling attention to the fact since Limbaugh made his initial comments.
On Monday, Gabriel denounced Limbaugh’s remarks via his Facebook page. A spokeperson issued the following statement on his behalf:
“Peter was appalled to learn that his music was linked to Rush Limbaugh’s extraordinary attack on Sandra Flute. It is obvious from anyone that knows Peter’s work that he would never approve such a use. He has asked his representatives to make sure his music is withdrawn and especially from these unfair aggressive and ignorant comments.”

Totally off topic: I wasn’t born when the Golden Girls premiered and was probably still in the womb or in a crib when it wrapped up production but I discovered the show one day and it is AMAZING!!! The humor, the friendship, the issues they discuss - womens rights, education, gay rights, interracial marriage, HIV, addiction, sex, immigration - were relevant then and are still relevant now and all with that dash of wonderful humor. For those interested, there is an all night marathon of Golden Girls on WeTV right now. :)

What I think is interesting about this blog is its blindness. I didn’t say color blindness I said blindness. What I notice is over time you get to know race, gender and age of posters but it takes a very long time of participating on a daily basis to get to that point. I really like that since it means everyone is being judged by their words and their impact only. A person is not put down due to their race, age or gender which happens so many times in the sighted world. I think it comes close to what MLK said about judging one by the content of his/her character.

I watch the Golden Girls EVERY day — either on Hallmark or WETV. I just finished watching the episode with Rose and her “little man” boyfriend — for the umpteenth time. I think my favorite episode is Dorothy vs. Blanche at the Rusty at the Rusty Anchor — :lol: :lol: :lol: ! That was/is a hilarious show, and definitely ahead of its time.
Ut and all the youngsters that discover, The Goldern Girls, The Andy Griffith Show, Fathers Knows Best, The Monkeys, The Dennis the Mennis show, Mary Tyler Moore, Happy Days, That 70’s Show and all the shows that many of the Boomers and those that came after us have grown to enjoy are discovering for the first time will come to enjoy for the first time…..we are also reliving that experience with you! Kinda like a parent who sees the joy in the eyes their kids discovering things for the first time. I am so proud of our young women today.
Rush would call Blanche a slut but she wasn’t. She just loved men and sex. I loved Blanche. She thought she was gorgeous and young. Sophia was witty with a dry sense of humor and Dorothy loved her mother like how my daughter loves me. Rose was dumb but oh so sweet. I can’t get enough of that show as well as I love Lucy. I am 65, look and feel younger on my good days. Want to be around to at least the end of the Presidsent’s last term.

Former President Bill Clinton has agreed to make joint appearances with President Barack Obama at a series of fundraisers, according to three people familiar with the matter.
The 42nd and the 44th presidents will appear together at events in the coming months in Los Angeles, Chicago and New York, according to one of the people. The New York fundraiser is aimed at donors in the financial services industry, said the person, who like the others spoke on the condition of anonymity because they hadn’t been authorized to talk about the events.
Ben Labolt, a spokesman for the Obama campaign, said nothing has been put on the schedule. Clinton spokesman Matt McKenna declined to comment.

There was someone on MSNBC last weekend (didn’t get his name) who actually had the nerve to ask PBO, rhetorically, when was he going to lead the OWS movement because PBO said everyone should be involved. He implied they were doing what PBO suggested and that he was leaving OWS high and dry by not asssuming leadership of their “movement.” I couldn’t believe it. I seem to recall them saying they were leaderless intentionally, they were apolitical and they didn’t believe voting was the answer. Oh and by the way, they were mic checking PBO at his events. Why would PBO want to allign himself with folks that clearly don’t know what they stand for?
I also heard that dumb comment but do not remember who it was.
That guy is full of total Horseshit! OWS pissed on anyone that tried to help them and if you were affiliated with Pres.Obama in anyway, forget it. Don’t come running to Pres.Obama now that you need his star power to elevate the “movement” again.

I knew this yesterday. Even if she did use the full ad script, it still seemed that she was doing this for party duty, not because she really enthusiastically endorsed him. It was shocking to see Chris Wallace correcting the record and explaining to Rick Santorum exactly what President Obama actually said. The hemming and hawing that ensued was laughable. The problem will all of these grade F republican pretenders is that they think “If the black guy was elected president, anyone can be; so I’ll throw my hat into the ring.” What their racist hearts cannot let them believe is the truth that so many voted for this special man because they saw his integrity, believed in his vision for the country, and realized that he wanted to be president to do something, not to be something. Many saw his consistency over the years and knew that he meant what he said and that he would do all that was in his power to keep the promises that he made to us. We all saw a bit of ourselves, our children, our friends, etc. in him and formed a connection that caused many who had never donated to a campaign to do so; to work for a candidate for the first time, to go to a political rally. He let us know that we really do have the power to be the change that we wanted; that we were the ones that we were looking for. These republicans clearly hate most Americans, so why would they want to serve those that they despise? Ego and hate is all that they know. Their souls are small and cramped, filled with vile ideas that could turn our country into a horror. But, we will stop them because we want a more inclusive, fair country that lifts us up rather than one that tears us down. It is time for our better angels (we had 8 years of the bad ones) to lead the way.

You are so right yardarm! I still don’t think they realize yet that this is not a news cycle event. Eventually the GOP heavies will have to make this go away as it is killing their women voter support. To make this go away Rush will have to go away. This daily dribble of sponsors and now radio stations dropping Rush continues to keep this in the news. And women are truly pissed and awake this is not going to a back burner. Just a daily turning up the heat on Rush. Like all bullies he is a coward and he is going to crack!
It’s not even gonna go away then. No one on the right has yet to stand up. That ain’t gonna get too many votes.

Good evening Chips and family. Relaxing and safely at home after driving a hard working newly positioned Staff Worker named LB. She starts full time training in PA as a full time salary Staff employee at OFA.
She has worked hard none stopped as Fall/Spring Fellow since last year and I was drawn to her table outside the Upper West Side in Manhattan. It was a pleasure to accompany her and her personal chauffeur(he loving calls himself that) because we love her so much and so proud of her. During the three hour drive, we shared our thoughts, love and respect for the President and his administration. Never in our lifetime did we think we would be volunteering, donating and spending hours phone banking and canvassing for anyone dealing with politics in these United States.
I am so proud of Sandra Fluke’s appearance on the “Shrew”. She truly took them to school. I called that Taming of the Shrews. She made them all look like students.
I saved the best for last. Our First Lady showing much love taking her time connecting with each and every person. I smiled so hard I felt as if I was on the line and I was next. What a joy to watch!

I guess I’m number 272…that’s fine. Love all the comments, CEB you expressed exactly what I’ve been thinking. The pettiness of these people never ceases to boggle my mind. I so admire President and Mrs. Obama. They faced the run realistically and still deal realistically with all the nonsense, yet are compassionate towards people…..amazing people! I think people do not know what to do with the President, because he is NOT the typical glib, surface surfing politician we’ve become accustomed to. He has depth, compassion, SMARTS, so many qualities we have not seen in leaders in years. I am so thankful I have lived long enough to be part of the Age of Obama!!!

WASHINGTON-First Lady Michelle Obama headlined a fund-raiser on Friday-to help bankroll the Democratic Convention in Charlotte, N.C.-where the top price tag was a whopper- $100,000 per couple. This multi-tiered Charlotte fund-raiser-with a star headliner-was the biggest event to date for the convention.
Mrs. Obama is picking up her fund-raising pace, hitting Raleigh and Charlotte, N.C. last Friday and St. Louis, Kansas City and Boston this week. Before that, at the end of February she was in Cincinnati and Louisville hunting for campaign cash.
Mrs. Obama-as does President Obama and presidents before him-usually piggybacks some official events on her campaign swings so make her travel seem less political by drawing a spotlight to her signature issues, providing a rationale for the government expense involved.
