Imagine, just imagine, if the media had reported accurately about ACA, rather than GOP hysteria. Imagine, just imagine, if Dems had stood proudly and loudly behind the greatest social program since the New Deal. It’s almost enough to make me weep.
I think about this all the time. In what crazy mixed-up world do we live in where such a great movement forward for affordable healthcare for all is either roundly assailed or deftly skirted in our day? It’s sickening.
Almost criminal how the ACA has been lied about and obstructed. The truth will out as more and more people realize who crucial this is to American families’ economic security.

This would have been the most spectacularly successful program in American history. Literally.
But don’t y’all see that it is spectacularly successful in spite of the obstruction, that’s what PBO is thinking about when he’s whistling, they hit him with everything they had and it’s still working and saving lives and saving money.
That’s sweet victory to PBO and to me.
That is the REAL story, GGail, and has been the real (but unreported) story since the first enrollment period: people crawled over broken glass to sign up for this insurance, despite the obstruction, the cutting of funds to inform people, the running away from ACA by Dems. I was FURIOUS here in Chicago - the city did NOTHING to inform people about ACA. A few aldermen and a handful of representatives held one or two enrollment dates. Other than that, Chicago did nothing. Imagine what that was like in MS or AL.
Just wanted to share because I need some love right now.
When I got home today I decided to make some French Onion Soup.
It smelt like dirty socks.
And looked like cow poo.
And tasted worse than both.
I may never recover.

I’m wondering if anyone has heard what is going on with Jeremy Bird.
He was field director for PBO in SC, then went on to become Deputy National Field Director for OFA and National Field Director in 2012.
He went to Texas to help win it for Wendy Davis and pave the way for Hillary Clinton but that was a bust.
He went to Israel to help defeat Netanyahu but that was a bust.
He’s also been hired by Ready for Hillary.
I think you have defined politics - it is not the campaign staff who win elections - it is the candidates and their policies. Democrats have lost since they stopped supporting PBO and his policies. Campaign staff who think they are the success story are fooling themselves and their future employers.
That so many RWNJs are winning elections in the US does not bode well for the future. That the media supports these candidates and refuses to publicize the horror of them and their policies ensures a majority of people have no idea as to their intended actions.
