Not only are they standing in a crowded venue, they are *listening*. I am always touched by how attentively average people (vs the pundit types) listen to PBO.
BTW, thanks to the consistent efforts of the Bts I **know** ahead of time that I can come here to quickly locate a speech or PBO event I may have missed. That’s a real gift to us when life messes up our TOD schedule. :D

Heard on the radio that a truck on Interstate 15 (north-south route from Riverside County [east of LA] the primary freeway to Las Vegas from San Diego or Los Angeles) carrying fireworks overturned and fireworks were exploding on the freeway.
So even though it’s still light out, LA has a head start on the festivities.

I mentioned on that thread that this speech should be required viewing for anyone who votes in the US. If you’re not a downright bigot, you would be educated on what President Obama has done for this country’s economy (as it was tailspinning into meltdown after Sep 2008) and could not help but be moved by the (white) small business owner who had tears streaming down his face as PBO spotlighted how well his company (which relied on the auto industry) has done since that meltdown.
