      Thanks Judith - I was just backtracking & read your comment about Sen Schumer on the last thread. It seems like all of congress are upset because PBO follows the course he was elected to follow. I do hope the democrats realise the level of support for the President on this issue.

        J Street needs to get their troops mobilized to shame Schumer into supporting his own President over Bibi. Geez! This should be a no-brainer!

          I’m starting to think he’s dug himself in too deep. And it because of this that he’s really not the right person to lead the Senate.

    OK, so I’m starting to get pushed from the intractable position I’ve carried for some time now…but Ron Klain (VP Biden’s COS) signing up w/ HRC and doing D primary debate prep still causes me some hesitance…..

            This is the most recent one… http://www.msnbc.com/msnbc/will-joe-biden-challenge-hillary-clinton-democratic-nomination “Even some of Biden’s former top aides have taken steps to back Clinton, suggesting they were not anticipating a campaign from their ex-boss. Ron Klain, Biden’s former chief of staff, is expected to help Clinton prepare for the debates, while Tony Blinken, a longtime Biden adviser on foreign policy, donated to Clinton during the last quarter, as first reported by Vox.”

            ….was also confirmed by someone on HRC campaign on the record after all the stories broke last night.

              Well, I think both Klain and Blinken were on Clinton WH staff back in the day so there’s another level of loyalty there, but yeah, that’s not encouraging.

                    Hi Sue! You are one of my most favored supporters of our President Obama. Please reconsider Hillary! Our beloved VP Biden may not be that serious about running. This feels like an inflection to change the media attention away from the awful republicans and Trump. In the reconsider Hillary category, let’s consider President Obama’s messaging to the African nations about WOMEN! Is it possible he was channeling support for a female Prez? I think that is a possibility. Hillary is not Bill. In my view, she would be superior to Bill. She works hard, and I do not think she favors the rich. I believe she does still think she has no money, and she will work to help those of us who walk in the “no Money shoes.” This meme about Hillary being untrustworthy is fostered by republicans. And, If we get behind her, and work hard for her…She can WIN! The republicans will cheat, and steal the election if they get any opportunity. We must support President Obama by helping to elect the next President who is a Democratic President. Bernie Sanders is a good guy, but he will not become President. Hillary can do this, but we, Democrats, must work tirelessly to make it happen. Please rethink your idea that Hillary cannot win. She can win, but only with all of US (President Obama Supporters) backing her. I do not mean to be over baring, I’m just so concerned about the next election. Thanks for just hearing my little rant.

      the news media gives validity to this denial of climate change instead of calling them out…that is the real travesty of what our media has become…they have betrayed that sacred trust given to them by the constitution….

        The media gives validity to the GOP candidates - and all of their stupid ideas - have to talk about both sides - except for the past 7 years the media has publicized only 1 side.

                Don’t laugh, but I just discovered that a black bear was shot recently after roaming in backyards *in my neighbourhood*!!!! I really have to get offline and check out what’s happening closer to home!!! I found this discovery - made this evening - more frightening than the storm. You can bet your patootie I won’t be going into the backyard for the rest of the summer without looking right, left and right again, and I certainly won’t be hanging out there!

                  Oh, this is so sad. I am sorry wildlife control felt the need to kill the bear. I do know from living out in the Canadian Rockies, in Banff, bears will continue to find their way back to a certain place, no matter how far they are relocated. As Banff is a national park, of course we had bears everywhere, would ride past them on our bikes. Learned early not to mess with them, but we all loved them just the same. <3 :bear: <3

                    Morning, MP. Hope all is going well in your corner.

                    In an impersonal way I am sorry the bear was killed. It raised a ruckus on social media I understand, and the proper authorities have said they intend to sharpen their response time, etc etc. On a more personal level, you can bet my back yard isn’t going to get to know me this summer and I am happy I did not know of this while it was happening. Since last night I’ve decided to no longer leave the patio door open early in the morning - something I’d very recently started to do. I like my wild life in pictures, and then only *some* pictures!

                I’m alright, thanks, Hopef. I am honestly more frazzled by my latest discovery that a black bear was roaming in yards that are only a stone’s throw away, than I am by the storm. Imagine if you will that the squirrels that play in my yard are enough to chase me inside - they are so bold - then picture what would happen if a black bear turned up. I don’t think I will ever go out back again with any confidence!

    about VP Joe’s close friends and elected Dems who have already made other commitments : nothing in politics is written in stone;

    there is the possibility that most decided to do this because at the time, they were absolutely convinced that VP Biden would not run.

    it is still early enough for people to change their minds;

    remember the people who initially committed against PBO (even though he was already in the race) and how some publicly changed their positions to permanently support POTUS through out the remaining time of his campaign.

    Some of those people are currently among the unapologetic Obots who would snatch your eye out if they even suspected you of opposing PBO.

    nothing is final until delegates cast their vote

    • 95 globalcitizenlinda
      August 2, 2025 at 10:57 pm

      I remember the first time PBO came for a rally in our state;

      most of the elected officials then did not support him - heck they even refuse to share with us the voter list of Dems in this state.

      we had to formulate our own voter lists from scratch - working door-to-door, community by community;

      the mayor was working with us and so were a FEW of the African American legislators. the rest were even hostile.

    Hello all.

    Just saw Hillary Clinton’s first TV ad. It is obvious that she has a lot of PBO’s former staff because the campaign has some obvious similarities.
    I don’t know if this is a good idea because most voters value authenticity.

    Whatever the HRC campaign says about PBO, the copy is on. Well, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and she will try to ride with all his ideas and policies (packaged a little differently to pretend it’s a new and her idea).

    Is this the “Need more prayers, please, TODville” aisle?

    The bio-glue (or, as CanadaBarb calls it, Gorilla Glue) didn’t fully take on the repair of the bronchopleural fistula my son has, so the surgeon needs to repeat last Friday’s procedure tomorrow. He was warned this might happen, but it still kind of hit him like a ton of bricks this morning - although he’s back to #MovingForward tonight! Prayers and good thoughts would be most appreciated, that the glue fixes the tear in his chest cavity once and for all. Thanks so much!

    And thanks, NW, for the laughs - off to read ’em!
